Β <— M/M SPORTS STAR DARK ROMANCE SERIES ALERT!! He’s the runaway son of a crime lord, and he’s becoming a huge sports star! *gasp*!! And it’s Jennifer that brought it to my attention with this RAVE review!!
Jennifer: Maryse I wanted to share with you a trilogy that blew me away. The All for the Game trilogy that starts with Foxhole Court by Nora Sakavic. I didn’t know what to make of the first book, it was a bit of a mess establishing characters and a bit of their backgrounds. It was like a very dark NA bad-news Bears type sports story with no romance.
The second and third books are amazing. It is only overt M/M romance in the latter part of the trilogy. It was a goodreads recommendationΒ after Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. Strange comparison for me as the only things in common were the rivalries and the similar age of characters and lite m/m, but I am so glad I found it. Please highlight these books. I think some of your readers would love them…here is my GR review of the final book in the series…
Incredible conclusion to this trilogy. Hard to describe these books, they are dark, sports related, suspenseful, only overtly M/M romance in the latter half, twisting, and violent. They are also about a college age team of misfits who are trying to find their second chance at a life and success. Really brilliant, imaginative, and fascinating. Probably hard to find the proper reading audience as it is difficult to categorize and package. Really a diamond in the rough. I would love to read more from this author. I am blown away…this was brilliant.
About book #1:
Neil Josten is the newest addition to the Palmetto State University Exy team. He’s short, he’s fast, he’s got a ton of potentialβand he’s the runaway son of the murderous crime lord known as The Butcher.
Signing a contract with the PSU Foxes is the last thing a guy like Neil should do. The team is high profile and he doesn’t need sports crews broadcasting pictures of his face around the nation. His lies will hold up only so long under this kind of scrutiny and the truth will get him killed.
But Neil’s not the only one with secrets on the team. One of Neil’s new teammates is a friend from his old life, and Neil can’t walk away from him a second time. Neil has survived the last eight years by running. Maybe he’s finally found someone and something worth fighting for.
