Here is a series that has been recommended quite a few times over the last week. If you ask me, I’d say it certainly has that “Bared to You” feel. So if you’re looking for more, this might be it!!
Tiffany: So I got a Recommendation on my Kindle account and I found Naked The Blackstone affair part 1 by Raine Miller and I am LOVING it…Pretty Hot. and sexy…Its Good!! I never trust the comparison thing to Fifty and its not like Fifty but it has the same older guy ..Younger woman kinda feel…Give it a look if you want your heart to skip a beat while reading…LOL!!

- All In: The Blackstone Affair, Book 2

- The Passion of Darius (Blackstone Affair Historical Prequel) <— just released

Progress update from author about book #3 and more about the future of the series (as per her webpage):
“Remember that the Blackstone Affair series was sold to Atria/Simon & Schuster earlier this month. The switch from indie to traditional publishing means that the publisher retains control over release dates and pricing. Atria has set Spring 2013 for the release of Part 3…”
“Other things in the works? Well, yes, of course there is! The Rothvale Legacy is coming sometime in 2013 and will belong to Ivan and Gabrielle. This is planned as a series.”
“Another project on deck is a historical full-length novel called Unveiling the Muse. It will tell the story of Ivan’s ancestor, Graham Everley, and can be considered a 200 year prequel to The Rothvale Legacy which is why it will come out first, I hope in the first half of 2013.”
“And finally, I am planning a Christmas 2013 novella for Ethan and Brynne because I am certain people will want to know what is up with those two after their series ends.”
Thanks for the warning! I’ll wait till all are out and possibly combined into one book. I refuse to buy “installment series”; they’re a waste of money, in my opinion, because each is too short.
And while I’m bitching, *why* are so many books in the erotica genre so damned short (under 150 pages) and cost so damned much? I don’t have much money to spend on books, so I go for books that will last longer than an hour or two.
Yep. Soooo many shorts. *sigh*
These short installments are starting to get on my nerves if I am to be honest. I get into the story and then am left hanging and have to wait for the next installment and hope I remember what hapened last. Having said that OMG Ethan, I’m loving him almost as much as Gideon. HE is so alpha and that’s a big plus for me. I did get the Bared To You feel in this book. That also is a peeve of mine, but did I mention hot, dominant Ethan? 😉 Anyway, I enjoyed the writing and the characters, and agree with Maryse that this is a what to read after Bared To You. You might want to wait until all three are out though since you will be left hanging.
I also went into this one blind and got sucked in before I realized it was an installment…yes, very frustrating! BUT, it was so good I’m certainly glad I read it and of course I’m anxiously awaiting part 2 😉 I felt it was most similar to Bared to You with a dash of Fifty and, dare I say, I kind of got a bit a Gabriel’s Inferno vibe at one point. Ethan is certainly a yummy possessive alpha and I can’t wait to see how this plays out.
Lol. Thanks, Maryse. I think I’ll definitely wait until at least book 2 is out. Sounds good though. And ooh, David James Gandy is definitely smoking hot! 🙂
I am with you Rita, I also refuse to buy “installment series”. But sadly, lots of other people do buy them, so while their making money, more and more of those “couple of chapter books” will show up…
Hey girls anyone know if i can download this as an ebook?
Yes the book cover and book title links direct to ebook on amazon.
Yay – I’m not the only one getting frustrated by all these ‘shorts’! My Other Half nearly had a blue fit when he saw my Amazon spends – all the $2.99s really do add up! Like most, I would much rather pay out for a full length book… let’s hope there are some more good ones soon!
I’m all about cliffhangers, don’t get me wrong, but if they are TOO cliffhangery (yes, I made that word up) it’s too frustrating. I stopped reading a series because of that.
Ok so after finishing The Opportunist last night i needed something to get my mind off of Caleb and Olivia quick….I thought about maybe starting Snacks & Seduction or Creed but when i saw the cover for this book, read the book description, and started the sample….i was sold! I started and finished this book tonight in 3 hours and it was good and im left hanging, wanting more, and feeling bad for Ethan…and thanks to your review i now know who Ethan looks like (david gandy…HOT!) so i guess i am waiting on yet another installment and this time really start Creed or S&S..LOL
Maryse, as the social media assistant to David Gandy, I wanted to let you know that–thanks to the link you embedded above–your blog was the top source of new followers for his official page in the past week. KUDOS for highlighting a man who is even more beautiful on the inside than he is on the outside. I will tease you with this: David is shooting something next week that I GUARANTEE you and your fans will find VERY inspiring this fall. 😉 Cheers!
Hi Laura! WOW! What a great comment to wake up to. Thank you for letting me know! And that is *quite* the tease… very excited to see it. 🙂
Love this book and the end is making me want to read the other one like now!!!!!
Another book I am waiting to read when all of the installments are out, I hate cliffhangers!! Though I can’t wait to read about another “Gideon.” David Gandy is my Gideon, so I can’t wait to meet Ethan!!
I hate to say this, but I can’t even get through the first half of this book let alone another installment. The writing is choppy and seems very unprofessional.
hey, I was just wondering when the 2nd book will be coming out. Help! I just finished the 1st book and I’m totally dying to find out what Ethan *spoiler*!
It’s not available at Amazon because I’ve been looking!
You’re right, Luvlee! The author just recently updated her Facebook page indicating that she was still writing book #2, and it would be longer than #1 (yay for that!!) but I will keep us updated as soon as she announces a release date.
I loved your review of Naked by Raine Miller. I wished I had waited til the whole series was out to start. Book one was so good, however, I won’t wait til three comes out before I read two. I also agree with you about series. They’re fine but in shorts…nahhh. Put it all I one book and charge the right price. Doing it in installments makes the buyer pay more and it kinda sticks with the buyer. I, however, will contine to buy this series cuz I like the way she writes and I love the characters. You were spot on in your review. Thank you.
Just read Naked and All In…I wanna rip my hair out waiting for the next one!!!!! I’m dying…When is this book gonna be out!?
i read both book and cant wait to read the 3 one
Please let me know when book #3 is comi
Ing out !! I’m hooked!!! Thanks
What exactly was the cliff hanger at the end of book 2? I read both books yesterday. I was hooked reading the first book, and she let us read chapter 1 of the 2nd book. BUT at the end of book 2, there was no mention of a 3rd book. We got the POV of a firggin FISH! I was so angry because I thought the story just ended with no resolution, no statsis. She was sick then she felt MUCH better and they had sex. The end. Now let’s hear what the fish thinks swimming around his tank all day. WTF!!! How did you know there is going to be a 3rd book?
kristi,
yeah wasn’t a fan of the fish story either til the end. The fish sees someone in the office. Someone who has access to his stuff and can find out things about her. As for her being sick, I think someone is poisoning her. I don’t know why I have that feeling, just do. Thank heavens I remembered the mention of the book being a trilogy some where that’s how I knew that there was a book 3, a teaser chapter again would have been fun. No matter I can’t wait to see how this all plays out.
Have a great evening Kristi!!!
LOVED THESE BOOKS AND CAN’T WAIT TIL NEXT MONTH FOR PART 3!!!
Has there been a release date set for the 3rd book yet? So annoyed it can’t just end like that please let me know
@Kayla It took some diging, but I found out the 3rd book is due out Dec. 31st.
@Sherri Thanks, I didn’t read the whole fish thing because I was so mad. lol Now I’ll have to go back and read that part thoroughly. 🙂
Thought the book was OK. VERY slow I think it could probably have been combined in first or the upcoming book. But I do want to know the end. Because I loved the first book I will read the next one. Waiting to hear on release date for next book
I think ages pregnant. Anybody elsetjink that?
Y’all have just made my day!!! Thank goodness there is a 3rd book. I was so annoyed last night when I finished reading about friggin Simba!!! So if she was sick and now maginally better, is she pregnant??? I love the refenerence to 50 shades 🙂 I do have to say though, that the book from Ethan’s mind was a little too vulgar and turned me off just a tad. Still love the books and can’t wait til the third. Hopefully it will be from Brynne’s mind.
Kristina..I think she is too
I finished reading book#2 last night and I almost started to cry. Now I am happy because #3 is coming….I also think she is PREGNANT!!!!!
I loved these stories. I’m a big fan of FSOG but not the Crossfire series. It looks like book 3 isn’t coming out until spring 2013. I think she’s pregnant, too. Btw, I spent last night watching David Gandy on YouTube. The man is luscious!
Laura, how do you get to be the social media assistant to David Gandy and get any work done? He’s so gorgeous I don’t think I could look away.
I’m so confused about the mention of a story from Simba’s (the fish) point of view. I just finished reading All In and there was nothing of the sort at the end. Just a sneak peak at ch 1 of book 3. What am I missing? From the comments it seemed like Simba’s story held clues.
@Tori It was in the epilogue.
@Kristi – Thanks for the info. My copy doesn’t have an epilogue. That’s so strange. Do you think it’s a wonky download? Should I ask Amazon to resend?
I LOVE the Blackstone series so far and have re-read it a few times already. I do love the fact there is not FSG BSDM in this. It’s a fantastic mix of love, angst, humor, raw emotion, etc. And I have to say writing the second one from Ethan’s point of view was brilliant! I’m so looking forward to the third installment. Yes, they are short but the writing quality more than makes up for it. I congratulate Raine for staying true to the craft and not just throwing something out there that is garbage like so many others.
Write on Raine!!
I too am getting “angry” with these short continuing stories. I wouldn’t mind a max of 3 but I am now up to 15 books by Kelly Favor’s “For His Pleasure”. I have now started ignoring them and won’t buy them as there are certainly enough of other books out there to read.
I read a installment book about a girl who was a temp for a company and the boss starts fancying her and makes her his assistant includes contract and some “bdsm” but I can’t remember the name of it!! Any help?!
Looking forward to reading your books
