Some of our fellow readers right here are finding this fantasy series impossible to put down!
Tessa: OMG, loving this book. Prologue alone I got wrapped up into it due to a great story and characters. Iβm only on chapter 5 and have already teared up.
fabi:Β Tessa, youβre reading Defy! That book is so good. And the twists and turnsβ¦ Gah!
Tessa:Β I got lucky! Fabi, OMG, I donβt even want to do anything but read Defy! Itβs insane! I guessed one person but not the other. And and and, itβs not done and I just want to read all day. And then get the next book.
Young:Β Tessa, Thanks you for recommending Defy series by Sara B. Larson. I have never heard of the author, but Iβm enjoying Ignite (the second) very much!!
Fabi:Β I just finished Ignite. …I wasnβt expecting it to be as good as it was. I definitely hadnβt read it before. An easy five stars for me.
About book #1:
Alexa Hollen is a fighter. Forced to disguise herself as a boy and serve in the king’s army, Alex uses her quick wit and fierce sword-fighting skills to earn a spot on the elite prince’s guard. But when a powerful sorcerer sneaks into the palace in the dead of night, even Alex, who is virtually unbeatable, can’t prevent him from abducting her, her fellow guard and friend Rylan, and Prince Damian, taking them through the treacherous wilds of the jungle and deep into enemy territory.
The longer Alex is held captive with both Rylan and the prince, the more she realizes that she is not the only one who has been keeping dangerous secrets. And suddenly, after her own secret is revealed, Alex finds herself confronted with two men vying for her heart: the safe and steady Rylan, who has always cared for her, and the dark, intriguing Damian. With hidden foes lurking around every corner, is Alex strong enough to save herself and the kingdom she’s sworn to protect?
^points to 3* August, that will be one of many birthday presents to myself.
There don’t seem to be ANY Sara B Larson books available on amazon/au except for 2 in German, which I don’t read. π
I don’t understand why ebooks are not available anywhere in the world to anyone with an Internet connection. π
There’s one right now that an Australian reader recommended, and it sounds SO good (along the lines of Taylor Jenkins Reid and JoJo Moyes) and yet… we can’t buy it on Amazon U.S.
Bummed.
