Love, in English
<— THIS!! It was just released yesterday, and this is what I’m currently reading and already loving. YAY ME!!! ‘Cause I just got home and am finally getting back to my beloved *eeeeep-worthy* love story. Eeeeep? Yep, you’ll see. It definitely has that forbidden edge to it. It’s making my stomach clench already!
Maryse’s Book Blog: Oh my goodness this book is sooooooo crushing exciting! Butterflies are a-swarming! :D!!!
This one may not be for everyone (’cause of the “situation”), but where there’s emotional book-turmoil, there’s me rubbing my hands with devilish glee. Especially considering some of my trusted fellow readers were “early readers” and are going crazy for it!
Sandra: YES! I’ve read 2x what’s one more time. LOL. I loved this book so much.Β Can I like this post 50 times?
Kirsten: You guys are making me jealous. There is nothing like experiencing an awesome book for the first time.Β It is a standalone, and it is an amazing read. You all are going to love it.
Christine: Love this book hard!!! Enjoy ladies!!!
Paula: Loved this book!! 5++stars!
We all know I love Karina Halle like crazy (she’s the one that wrote the Experiment in Terror series), but this one is her first “contemporary romance”. Doesn’t matter to me, though. ‘Cause no matter what “genre” she writes (horror, action or romance) there’s ALWAYS a love story! And her heroines (whether they be tattooed bad-asses, or shy girls with big insecurities), Β there’s just something about them that I always seem to relate to BIG TIME. That I can completely connect to, as if she were real (maybe even as if she were ME). Thought processes, fears, self-doubt, self-sabotage, hopes and emotional hunger. Sometimes a hunger that’s too big, too bad, for her own good. And eventual hurt. <— It’s always as if the author is reading my mind.
And this character right here? OMG I am already SO in!!!!!! I’m just about a quarter in (this one’s over 500 pages!!). I had a late start last night, but read this morning I was eatin’ it right up, and having major butterflies to boot! He’s already SO crush worthy and so off-limits. *bites nails* There is gonna be trouble. BIG TROUBLE and you know me, where there’s book trouble… I’m in!
Tell me this doesn’t make you go EEEEP!
Heβs thirty-eight. Iβm twenty-three.
He speaks Spanish. I speak English.
He lives in Spain. I live in Canada.
He dresses in thousand-dollar suits. Iβm covered in tattoos.
Heβs married and has a five-year old daughter.
Iβm single and canβt commit to anyone or anything.
Until now. Because when they say you canβt choose who you fall in love with, boy ainβt that the damn truth.
So off I go. Wanna join me in my angst-fest? ‘Cause I just KNOW this is gonna hurt!

Stealing your word here…*squeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!* I have been waiting for this one for a while and have been *devouring* it since last night! I won’t be sleeping too much tonight either. π
My stomach is in constant clench mode!
I feel like I need to read this book, but am afraid! Is it a standalone? I hate getting into a series of books and then having to wait…too impatient of a girl! π
Just finished the Innocence books by A. Torre, which I loved and now looking for multiple trilogies or series to get my hands on! Any recommendations are much appreciated! I feel like I have read them all and am now starting to panic as my TBR list is very rapidly shrinking—Help! π
Ashley, it is a standalone. π
I suggest you also read the Tristan & Danika trilogy. It’s complete and I loved it like crazy! Here is the series reading order: https://www.maryse.net/reading-order-guide/r-k-lilley-tristan-danika-series-reading-order.html
Thanks Maryse-I am SO happy to hear it is a standalone and I can’t wait to read it! I have already read all of RK Lilley’s books…and JA Huss…and A Torre…and K Bromberg…and CD Reis-they were all some of the BEST books I have ever read!!! And sooo many more! I am waiting for the latest from KI Lynn so I can read them all in a row (my style) and also going to try Ella Fox, but haven’t seen any of hers on your blog. Thanks for all of your amazing recommendations! I found most of my books from you and they have been awesome! Keep going-your blog is absolutely fabulous!!! You have a lifetime subscriber here! π
Sorry, I misspoke – I have read a bunch from Ella Fox (and loved them), but not Ella James! Starting Selling Scarlett now! Sorry! π
*whelp*
I’m crying. 6:50am and I’m crying. Lucky I’m only halfway through the book, so that means more for me. But I suspect “more” = crying. π
It’s awesome– I love her books. And I love this is a standalone. I wanted a little more at the end though π
I tried reading the Experiment in Terror books, but they never grabbed me – I know this is probably blasphemy to you, Maryse, but anyway, this blurb GRABBED me, so I thought, sure! Anyway, I finished it yesterday and OMG, I loved it! I wish she’d write more in this genre. Loved the romance!
Arrrgh! Maryse, I *know* that I can’t be alone in my (literal) eye-covering and, ahem, “meeping” moments, right?!? I’m so glad the skewing of my moral compass doesn’t extend beyond my reading. *snicker* π
And Ashley, here’s another vote for the Tristan and Danika trilogy. Those two… *sigh* If you want to open a Pandora’s box, ask for some series suggestions on Maryse’s Tuesday new release post today. By the way – Pandora’s box is a good thing around here. π
*giggle*
And I’m finishing up today’s list, and while I’m unable to *squirrel* right now ’cause I’m SO hung up on Karina’ Halle’s brand of angst (BIG FAT TEARS I tell you!!), there appear to be some real goodies that await us.
Gah CELESTE!!! Book #3 in EIT and then book #4 (5 stars!!) <--- OMG with the romantic angst and then every book after that for me was 5 star! But I get it... and at least you can see her amazing talent through this one. π
Oh my… π Time to pass the manatee around. *sob*
At 55% and I am wrecked. I found myself holding my breath towards the end of part one. I don’t want to stop reading but I must get some sleep so I can function at work.
Yoyo… you ‘n me both. I JUST finished at about midnight last night and OMG I LOVED IT!!!
