HAPPY SUNDAY!!! 😊 WHAT ARE YOU IN THE MOOD TO READ? It’s been awhile since I asked what everyone’s reading and sitting and catching up with our book crew after the hurricane, I have a book roll call for us. So if you’re looking for something to read, I bet you I (we) have just what you’re looking for in this list. Fantasy Romance (or “Romantasy”) dominates these days (and on this list, as well) but we have a ton of other tried-and-true must reads from other genres too.
Anjanette: …I turned into a fantasy girlie towards the end of the year
Branden: I’ve been in a bit of a slump since finishing…. (Dartmoor Series) by Lauren Gilley… one of my all time fave series so hopefully I’ll find redemption in this thread!!
Maryse: What are you in the mood for?
Branden: something with a good story… RomComs are falling flat for me right now it seems and I don’t get into suspense much.
Stacie: love great writing along with a great romance!
P.S. Whatcha reading?
Maryse: I just finished TWO books (one, during the hurricane!!) “My Husband” and “The Helper” (reviews to come)
Janet: I just finished Kristen Hannah’s ‘Women’. It was SO good
Keshia: Just finished A Crown of Nyaxia Series by Carissa Broadbent and it was aahhhmazing!!!
Nancy: Just finished the gilded prisoner series since the last book came out soooo good!! 10/10. Now rereading the dark verse series before the last books finally comes out!
Alice: Just finished – Sunday Morning by Jewel E Ann. I don’t read books about high school students but I do read everything Jewel writes. This one was so good I had a hard time putting it down.
Shawnee: thanks Alice. I’m reading Sunday Morning right now because of your suggestion!
Alice: Almost done with- The Professor by Skye Warren. It is good but it’s a bit spicy.
Branden: I’ve been in a bit of a slump since finishing the fourth installment of Lord Have Mercy (Dartmoor Series) by Lauren Gilley… one of my all time fave series so hopefully I’ll find redemption in this thread!! …I just started The Last Anniversary by Liane Moriarty… she usually delivers with some good characters and some fun twists so
Carole: Just finished Tiny Fractures by J.V. Reese. An exceptional debut novel that deals with some heavy topics. I was in the mood for some NA and this book was recommended. Most of the MCs are in high school and this deeply emotional story covers subjects including parental abuse, dating violence and suicidal ideation. Whilst it does not end on a cliffhanger as such, there is definitely a second book to come although no mention of when this may be released.
Cady: It’s been a minute but I had to let you know about a debut author I just finish reading it is the best book I have ever read. The book title is Tiny Fractures by J.V. Reese. It is so gut wrenching beautiful you won’t be able to put it down. The cliffhanger is so epic and jaw dropping.
Erica: I’m working my way through KA Tuckers Fate and Flame series.
Maryse: She’s one of my favorite authors, though I haven’t started this series. How are you liking it? I haven’t read much Fantasy Romance yet…
Donna: Fantasy is my fave
Erica: the world setting is different than a typical fantasy but I am enjoying it. I loved all her other books I’m sure I’ll love this as well.
Britton: The Games Gods Play. I seriously could not put it down from start to finish.
Stacey: Kate Stewart’s The Finish Line. The Ravenhood Trilogy.
Maryse: One of my fav authors and I still need to read this one!!
Stacey: yes you do! This trilogy is so emotional!
Cindy: Delicate Escape (Sparrow Falls Book 2), by Catherine Cowles. Really, really good. I previously read Book 1 and loved it! I look forward to Book 3.
Mandy: Nearly done with My Oxford Year and have really enjoyed it! Thought it was just going to be a cutesy going to England for a year love story but it took a bit of a sad turn I wasn’t expecting it to make. It’s supposed to be a Netflix movie soon with Sofia Carson and Corey Mychrest (who played Young George on Queen Charlotte) Also just started on The Games Gods Play
Maryse: Oh I LOVVVVVED that one!!!!!!! I had no idea it’s going to be a movie. YAY ME!!! YAYUS!!
Mandy: Sofia posted not too long ago they finished filming so I’m excited to see what they do with it! They did change the lead females name though from Ella to Anna
Branden: also loved it! Also didn’t know it was going to be a movie
Susan: I’m reading Chasm by Stacey Mcewan and have really liked the series. So far this one’s my favorite
Christina: Loved the Kyla Stone “Edge of collapse “ series
Maryse: I got a total blurb jolt with this one!!! It sounds right up my alley!!
Nicole: Divine Rivals series. Just finished book 1. 5/5
.
Ashley: The drowning woman …… so good so far loving it
Mo: I am eating the Zodiac Academy right up!!!
Jennifer: Zodiac Academy series by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti. Fantastic series!!!!
