Unfaithful Deeds: The Cost of Loving Him
Yes the author’s name on the book is Unfaithful Deeds, and I found the book, which came out in January 2026, through a random Amazon search. It’s a terrific intelligent book. A 19 year old marriage in trouble. A very strong successful FMC who loves her husband, the deceitful MMC who has just turned 40 and chests.
It’s really well written, fast read, and binge worthy.
The main tropes are:
– A strong competent FMC…she fixes failing businesses.
– A long standing marriage that from all outward appearances is happy and successful.
– A handsome fit MMC man child who turns 40 and has a mega midlife crisis…he wants to be fitter, better looking…he calls it optimization/transformation. He does this via strenuous training at the gym, severe dietary changes, use of anabolic steroids (that cause rages and unempathetic selfish sex or abstinence)…soon followed by gaslighting, cruelty towards his family, fraud, and cheating.
– The OW is a 24 year old coworker of the MMC. – The MMC deliberately lies to his wife about the coworker.
– The MMC blows up and leaves his wife for the OW, placing all the blame on the FMC, telling her he needs space, they’re broken. In text messages he calls the FMC the Warden.
– The FMC files for separation.
– The MMC stops taking steroids and crashes…he wants to come home and tries manipulation…he’s sick, he needs his wife to help calm him down. She kicks him out.
– The manipulation continues but he’s changed tactics…flowers, therapy, meditation, long emails, love bombing.
– The FMC has evidence he’s lying and the affair is ongoing…she files for divorce.
– Great ending for the FMC.
