*squeeeeeeeee* Look what I just did!!?? I video interviewed THE FABULOUS Colleen Hoover. One of my all-time favorite authors, every book she releases rocks my reading world! Her brand of romance and emotional angst touch so many of us deeply, and her heroes are the epitome of swooooooon worthy. She writes the ultimate book boyfriends!
With gorgeous titles and book covers that alone, promise potential angst and deep emotion (such as Slammed, Hopeless and Maybe Someday) I was excited to find out what she was working on next. So when I heard she was releasing a book in August, entitled “Ugly Love: A Novel“, my mind went all… whaaaaaa? Oh it, too, promises plenty… and it is that, that is already making me nervous. And to that, I say… YAY US! :D!!!!

ooooh I like its simplicity. It makes things interesting because it doesn’t picturise what the story might be all about. I think it’ll be one of those books that you just have to read in order to truly understand the cover photo if you get my drift. kinda like the first twilight book; you didn’t know what the apple on the cover page meant until you actually read the book. So really, it’s a pretty genius idea to get people to read it without prejudgments from the cover photo

The cover is simply gorgeous! From the synopsis we know we’re in for a bumpy ride with Tate and Miles. The cover makes me think of a love that is so intense it makes you feel like your drowning, hence the water on the cover. I’M SO EXCITED!

I love the water aspect! It’s simple and with the hint of Tate’s water analogies throughout the book I think it is perfect. I agree with Colleen’s thoughts regarding models on the cover. I like that without a model the reader doesn’t have a preconceived idea of what a character may look like. Being able to visualize the characters in my head really draws me into a story. Great cover Colleen! Can’t wait to read it!

I love the fact that the cover doesn’t have people on it. I like getting my own personal image of what the characters look like, it adds to the relatable-ness of the character and helps me relate to them in a more personal way. I also love the water analogy. Maybe it connects to the aspect of drowning? To me, water symbolizes unpredictability, danger and beauty, and even freedom to an extent so I can’t wait to read the book to see how close if am with that assumption. It’s so simple, love it. Just beautiful 🙂

I have a feeling that this is going to be another whirlwind book where i literally won’t be able to put it down. First of all can i say that Colleen Hoover is a literary genius cause she is. I’m a huge fan of when the book has a piece of the story represented on the cover it makes me all giddy and happy. And lastly folks i’m freaking out just thinking about the story

Oooh another thought, could it tie in with the title? Something as contradictory as ‘ugly’ and ‘love’ could tie in with the whole drowning thing. When you fall in love, it’s like your breath is literally taken away. You gasp for air and try to claw your way out in a desperate attempt to get a breath of air until, eventually, you give in and let yourself float freely into this kind of peaceful bliss… Kind of like drowning? Or maybe I just read too much into it… Sounds kind of morose now that I think about it. Oh well, beautiful cover nonetheless.

Love the cover! I personally do not like faces on covers. Everybody has their own imagination and that’s the great thing about books, you can picture the characters the way you want (with the help of the authors description!). I don’t mind gorgeous bodies, but I’m perfectly fine with no people at all:)

I butterflying love this cover! It’s eye-popping and fantastic! It’s different from all of colleen’s other books and I love that because it stands out. It’ll immediately catch everyone’s attention at the bookstore. Can’t wait to get my hands on a physical copy. I love this cover! I am beyond excited. I really like that we get to form our own image of the characters since they aren’t on the cover. I like how someone mentioned that a relationship can make you feel like you are drowning at times, so that could be a good metaphor for the cover. I could be reaching, but my first gut instinct when I saw the water and bubbles, was that we know one of the main characters is an airline pilot. In there a plane crash in the ocean?? I guess we have to wait a few months to find out! Can’t wait CoHo!

I love the cover. It fills my mind with oh so many feelings. Swimming deep and the relief of finally floating to the surface. That’s what CH books do to me. Take me on a journey and leave me feeling breathless and exhilarated by the end. I always learn something.

The cover is gorgeous! I love covers without faces or bodies on them. There was a book I really wanted to read but the cover had a man’s body on it and his belly button was super high. Love the cover! It has a very dramatic effect that almost makes you expect an element of mystery on top of the romance. Idk if that’s true, but the coloring is very pretty, for sure. Can’t wait to read it!

WOW! I knew I was excited about this book coming out but now I am EXTREMELY excited! The cover is beautifful! I absolutely LOVE all you other books and I find it very intriguing listening to how different the writing process was for you to write Ugly Love. You always do an amazing job “sucking” me into the world of each story where I feel like I am a part of it and living in it. I love how you incorporate so much emotion into your books including the humor that keeps me laughing out loud through out the story. I can NOT wait to experience Ugly Love!
