in Behind The Books

<— Whoooo!!! This new release (Burying Water: A Novel) sounds so INTENSE!! Emotional. And possibly super-twisty. She’s been left for dead, has no memories of what happened to her, and is rebuilding her life (with the aid of an old lady). But…

Who is the next-door neighbor, quietly toiling under the hood of his Barracuda? Why won’t Ginny let him step foot on her property? And why does Water feel she recognizes him?

Ohhhh what does he know? I love these kinds of secrets and trying to figure ‘em out!

And to celebrate K.A. Tucker’s latest book release, she has sent over a “5 fun facts” AND a signed book giveaway of this very book, for a lucky winner here.

5. Whenever possible, I communicate using minions. If I could add minions to my phone texts, my life would be complete.

4. I’m not a big “fangirling” type of person but if I ever met George R.R. Martin, I’d probably pass out from the excitement.

3. I am a hermit by nature. My ideal home would be in a remote woods, by a lake. As long as I had wifi, I could stay there for weeks at a time.

2. I can’t look into a goat’s eyes without shuddering. Their eyes freak me out.

1. I have written five books with the help of my Atria Books editor and I have never met her. I’ve only talked to her on the phone a handful of times. That all changes this weekend, on my first trip to NYC :D

LOL!!! I’ve never stared int a goat’s eyes before, but I gotta find one and give it a go! And… congratulations on finally getting to meet your editor, K.A.!! :D

How to enter for a chance to win the signed copy? Just leave a comment below, (any comment will do, but if you have a favorite “twisty-turny” book with a secret reveal that shocked you, tell us about it —-> spoiler-free of course)! And by 10pm EST, Sunday October 19th 2014, I will randomly select ONE winner for the signed book.

The winner will be contacted and will have 48hrs to respond with a mailing address, so if you are picked, do not delay or you will lose your chance. This book will be sent to the winners directly by the publisher.  US/Canada only for the giveaway, but all are welcome to comment!

My son-in-law works on a goat farm and I am wondering if I should tell him this? LOL I have a video of him with a goat trying to get it to talk but I am not sure it is close enough to see the goat’s eyes.

I can’t wait to read this one!

K.A. Tucker is one of my favorites! Wondering if she would like those little fainting goats! Look them up on YouTube…so funny! My youngest daughter reminded me of them when she was little & would get made about something…she would just drop to the ground just like the goats would!

Teresa H. October 16, 2014 at 3:48 PM

Great giveaway. This is on my TBR list. Twisty-turny book….Consequences by Aleatha Romig. If I didn’t love my iPad so much, I would have thrown it across the room after reading the ending. I was like…WHAT THE….bleep..bleep..bleep!!! Then I went and immediately one-clicked her other books.

Alison October 16, 2014 at 3:59 PM

I love this author’s books!

Terri October 16, 2014 at 6:52 PM

Okay, I just talked to my daughter who goes to the goat farm with her hubby sometimes and she said this, “You do not want to look into a goat’s eyes, they are dead, there is nothing there, it will steal your soul. The author is SO right.”

Man, maybe my daughter should write her own book after that description! LOL And maybe I will cancel my plans to go looking into the eyes of a goat!!

Ten Tiny Breaths was the VERY FIRST book I purchased when I got my Nook. If I was addicted to reading before that, it multiplied by… TEN (pun intended!) I would LOVE to be picked for this! I LOVE your books, KA!

Chanpreet October 17, 2014 at 9:27 AM

I’d have to say I don’t have a favorite twisty-turny book, but any book that takes me by surprise in a good way is an awesome book. K.A. Tucker’s books are always fantastic.

Jackie October 17, 2014 at 11:09 AM

This one sounds great. Rainfall and Beautiful Oblivion are a couple of my favorite twisty books.

Cheryl October 17, 2014 at 12:19 PM

This sounds really great, love a suspense, romance! Twisty-turny- Black Lies and Mudvein- which was kinda a double whamy of twisty-turny and mind-f@3k!!

Alli October 17, 2014 at 4:15 PM

This was my favorite book of the year. Hit all of my favorite things (real chemistry, second chances, believable, legitimate drama). Truly fantastic.

Robyn B October 17, 2014 at 4:51 PM

bev October 18, 2014 at 9:16 AM

The Song of Ice and Fire books are amazing. Can not wait for the next book.

Christina October 18, 2014 at 11:54 AM

I have been waiting to get this book because I need to mentally prepare myself for the twist because dang these authors definitely know how to throw a punch. My twisty turny topsy turvy books (yes books) are Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn and Black Lies by Alessandre Torre. For me they were set the book down in a huff while staring blankly at the wall saying wtf to yourself kind of books. It was awesome.

Erika October 18, 2014 at 7:40 PM

I am so excited to read this book! Love this author! I would probably have a list of books with a twist but I honestly can’t think of any right now! Thank you so much for the chance to win!

Kristen K. October 18, 2014 at 10:58 PM

Hmmm….It’s not really a twisty-turny type book, but there is a huge shocker in the Emi Lost and Found series by Lori Otto! SO GOOD!
