IN THE MOOD FOR A SLOW BURN, AGE GAP, SINGLE FATHER, BIKER BOOK? *oooomph* Edge: Brethren of the Lost Book 1 sounds like it has it all. ALL my favorite tropes. Take a look at this recent release (book #1 in a new biker series) that just went live in August! And I just love how much of the author’s real life and experiences inspired this story.
P.S. The author is today’s newsletter sponsor, and she’s celebrating her release with a signed book giveaway (and 5 fun facts about the book… and herself!!) P.S. If you scroll down to the bottom, there’s also a mini-bio about the author… and she’s a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!!! I’m FAN GIRLING!!!
<— And OMG on the actor/character inspiration for him. I HAD THE BIGGEST CRUSH on him when I watched that series. HOLY MOLY YES!!!
FIVE FUN FACTS about the book and the author:
1.) I started writing the series five years ago. I got the idea while on a motorcycle ride with my Dad. We were riding a popular motorcycle trail “the Twisted Sisters” South, Texas and I was obsessed with Madeline Sheehan’s Undeniable series. I’ve always written for fun and started writing it as soon as we got home. I spent the next five years playing with the characters and writing more books.
2.) The club is based out of a small town in South Texas. I never name the town but I based it on the real life town Leaky, Texas. Growing up my family had a lease in Leaky and it was one of my favorite places to go. It’s near the Frio River but higher up in the hills. A leg of the Twisted Sisters runs through the town. Also, Rosa’s the Mexican food restaurant that the club frequents is based on my favorite Mexican food restaurant on the trail. My dad and I used to go just for the margaritas.
3.) Five years to publish my first book is a long time and the Brethren of the Lost has been through several different renditions. I’ve scraped a lot of chapters. Changed the sub-plot a hundred times. I even changed the order of the books. Originally, Ava and Damon’s book came first! Now, they are book two and will be published January 2021.
4.) This book has two of of my favorite troupes, slow burn and age gap. I think I’m predisposition to age gap romances because my husband and I have a seventeen year age gap.
5.) Edge is inspired by the actor Anson Mount, specifically his character Cullen Bohannan from Hell on Wheels. Mina’s image is similar to actress Anna Sophia Robb.
So what’s it about?
Mina
Orphan. Sister. Survivor.
After my parents died, I’ve spent my life protecting my brother. A chance encounter changes everything. Suddenly, I’m thrown into the middle of a motorcycle club war. At the center of it is all is Edge, too old and too attractive. He’s also the most dangerous man I’ve ever met and his daughter is my newest friend.Edge, single father. President of Brethren Motorcycle Club. Completely blindsided by her.
I’m in the middle of a war that I didn’t start when this tiny blonde woman pops up and changes everything. She’s special. I can see that pretty quickly. She’s also fourteen years younger than me. I’m supposed to stay away.

About V.R. Paille:
I write slow burn romance. I love falling in love, no “insta-love” here.
I currently live in Texas with my husband and son. As long as it isn’t pouring rain you can find me outside with a book, writing, or chasing my son around. I’m a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and work with my husband in his gym. On our off days, we fish and day dream of one day sailing the world.
My favorite television shows are Friends and Gilmore Girls.
My favorite authors are Jane Austen, Leigh Bardugo, and Carian Cole.
