HAPPY MONDAY AND HAPPY PRIME DAY WEEK (*as of tomorrow)!!!! HOLY MOLY IT STARTS TOMORROW, and I’m staying home all day to play in the deals, the new release day books, and my favorite things… I bet some deals even start today (like these Amazon deals right here 😉 )
Three things:
1.) I watched TWO NEW horror movies this weekend and I’m thrilled!!! I’m thrilled ’causeway husband watched them with me (and he’s not into horror at all). And he enjoyed them (for the most part). I also slept a TON (cold medicines really do a number on my energy – or maybe it was the cold that kept me out). Despite all that, I’m almost halfway through a long (but much-loved book) and I’m enjoying it!!!
So now I’m in the stage of my cold (or was its flu? I had a fever for 2 whole days), but anyway I’m no longer in pain or feverish, or burning from the inside of my face and lungs, or miserable and irritated. Finally… relief. Yes, I’m still gross, but not constantly gross. Ya know? 😂
2.) First horror movie on the docket was the latest Final Destination Bloodlines and it was SO MUCH FUN!!!!! Exciting and scary, and clever (creative when it came to the deaths – these writers are so clever!!), and so in your face about it. I’m giving this a 4.5 STARS!! My full review to come. 😉
3.) “Bring Her Back“ <—- Second movie on the docket was touted as the scariest movie of the year, and “OMG THE trauma”, and the “best movie I never want to watch again” and the subject lines to every review I saw about it gave me an absolute jolt of YESSSSSSS SHOW IT TO MEEEEE!!! I was so excited. It had heart, it was visually so disturbing at times, and I LOVED the story (exactly up my creepy alley), but while to most, this is SCARY, to me it could have gone deeper in a certain aspect, and scare me hard. But it didn’t (and for many – where it went IS the perfect level of depth) but for me… I need that terror to 5-star it. So 4 stars it is!! My full review to come.

1. I’m reading Project Hail Mary and The Martian it is not (so far anyway). Did you read it Maryse? I think I just adored the MC in The Martian and I can’t quite get this guy. The movie looks awesome though!
2. I’m about 10k words from the end of my book but writing took a hit this weekend with all the flooding. Impossible to focus. We weren’t in danger but I did worry about the RV getting carried off a few times.
3. We’re at home now flipping the house for our next airbnb guests. I’m on day two of laundry, trying to get some writing in, in between loads. It’s worse than I expected but not as bad as it was a couple weeks ago!
I have not yet read it, but I’ve been so excited to… that is, until you made that comment. LOL!!!!! 😂 Let me know how you’re liking it (or not liking it).
That flooding is so terrifying. From safe and normal and happy to complete devastation. These past few years, or lets just say decade has been unrelenting tragedy. I’m glad you’re safe but I bet you felt like how I do when a hurricane is headed to our area. This impending doom and worry.
3.) So how is it after guests? Do they treat your property well for the most part? I’d be so scared of my property being destroyed by careless guests. At the same time, it’s such a great way for income.
Oops sorry but it’s one of those books you’ll know right away if you’ll love it or hate it. Get a sample first!
Usually after guests, it’s fine, just a mess. We haven’t lost anything big. Sometimes it’s just a lot of laundry. A lot. We have a group of twentysomething girls there this weekend who said they love mermaids and horror movies and were excited about our haunted mermaid trail. So margarita me decided to put out Freddy and Jason for photo ops. Crickets. I think that may have been a fail. 😂🤣 Too young maybe? They probably think we’re serial killers.
*giggle* Now I MUST see this haunted mermaid trail!!! I would have def. loved Freddy & Jason but they terrified me when I was just a little kid and that… was a LOOOOOONG time ago.
