- Twice in a Blue Moon by Christina Lauren <— CHRISTINA LAUREN SUPER-SALE ALERT!!!
Michele G: I finished Christina Lauren’s Twice in a Blue Moon over the weekend. I think reviews have been all over the place, but I really enjoyed it. It was a 4 1/2 star read for me! It’s another one where I highly recommend you go into it knowing as little as possible. It really will make the story so much more enjoyable.
Harper: Thanks for the recommendation, Michele! I read twice in a blue moon too and really liked it. I like everything Christina Lauren writes. Her characters tend to be mature and know how to communicate. Thats what really attracts me to them. Its really rare with the new books in contemporary romance that the H and h don’t linger in miscommunication and resolve their problems in a reasonable way and time frame. I love the character development as well.
- The Kiss Thief by L.J. Shen <— L.J. SHEN’S RECENT RELEASE IS SUPER-BARGAIN PRICED TODAY!!!! And this one is a HUGE favorite in our crew. HE IS A MEANIE!!!! 😀
MichelleS: Y’all I just finished The Kiss Thief. Another 5 star read! I’m on a roll here. Could not put it down. …Still thinking about that one and replaying scenes in my head. That Wolfe is a big bad alpha. And everyone has secrets. Every page has me saying, “he did NOT just do that” or “he did NOT just say that”.
Mona: I totally agree with D.G., The Kiss Thief was unputdownable (is that a word??) for me! Sooo good!!
D.G.: …I am HOOKED!!! My catnip…bully and arranged marriage. Not too far in yet but that Wolfe is a big ole meanie!
Aditi: Read “The kiss thief” it will satisfy you completely and you will be head over heels for this book
Donna: OMG…I LOVED THIS BOOK

- The Language of Cherries by Jen Marie Hawkins <— Michele G found us this one and LOVED it!!!
Michele G: Maryse, I have to let you know about another book I read that releases today. It’s The Language of Cherries by Jen Marie Hawkins. I’m pretty sure she’s a debut author. It’s a YA Romance that has a touch of magical realism.
It is set is Iceland and has a damaged hero who has endured a horrible tragedy and a heroine who is battling issues with her family. It’s poetic and lyrical and I adored it.
I gave it 5 huge stars. Now, it really may not be everyone’s cup of tea. However, I felt like I should put it out there just in case in appeals to someone else the way it did to me.

- Dead to Her: A Novel by Sarah Pinborough <— MARITAL STRIFE/PSYCH-THRILLER ALERT!! Young, attractive, reckless—nobody can take their eyes off Keisha. Including Marcie’s husband…”
Michele G: I’m currently reading Dead to Her by Sarah Pinborough and HOLY COW is it fun! It’s gotten some early mixed reviews but I’m really enjoying it. I have about 10% left and wish I was home reading… but I’m at work…so I won’t know how it ends until later…ugh! That said, it’s set in Savannah and even though most of the characters appear to be uber wealthy, none of them seem to have much moral character. It is a twisty little mystery and I have my theories as to who is behind everything….
Maryse: Wooohoooo!!!! And I just woohoo’d over the fact that I just got a copy of “Dead To Her” by Sarah Pinborough!!!!! YAY!!!!!
Tasha J: Omg, I love the cover! I hadn’t heard of it, but fans of Liane Moriarty? Sign me up! Can’t wait to see what you think!!

I put it in the audiobooks but for some reason I forgot Kindle!!
Sorry I skip audio lol can’t get into then
I just saw on FB that Verity is FREE today!
LOVED IT!!!!!
On the corner of love and hate is also bargain priced today. I’m reading it now and so far it’s a fun enemies to lovers romance I think? I went in blind so not sure where it’s going yet. Hehe.
Reese, I enjoyed that one!
Keep us updated!! I’ll add it to the Friday Finds if you loved it.
I really enjoyed it as well! It is a great frenemies to lovers book and I loved the MC sassy snarky attitude. And the best part – it was all in her point of view so I was right there with her not knowing what HE thought or felt. Just a fun read all around.
Needless to say I finished Dead to Her and loved the ending. People do seem to be polarized on this book though – they either love or hate it. Maryse, I look forward to hearing your thoughts….
I read another by that author that I liked but didn’t love, though my sister read one from her that she went crazy for. I’m anxious to get this one started!
Maryse, I have to let you know about another book I read that releases today. Ooooh I will add it in!!! Thank you so much for letting us know, plus feedback! I’ll add your feedback, too. 😀
The new Jewel E. Ann, The Life that Mattered, is excellent! (No surprise there, it is Jewel E. Ann). I never like to say too much because I’m afraid I’ll give the story away, but the book gave me the same feels as two old movies—Phenomenon with John Travolta (1996) and Powder (1995). It ends on a cliffhanger but the second book, The Life You Stole, is scheduled for release on Feb. 20. I NEED the second book now!!
YAY Mona!! Is it up for preorder do you know?
Yes it is up for preorder!
Thank you!!! I just posted the whole duet!! 🙂 I can’t wait to jump in.
Netgalley peeps, I have no idea if this has been up for some time or not, but Where the Lost Wander by Amy Harmon is READ NOW!! I snatched that up so quick. I LOVE everything Amy writes. ☺️ Set in the Oregon Trail days, so different, I’m excited to read it!
Love everything she writes! Thanks for the heads up. Going to go check it out now.
Oooooooh fantastic find!!!!!
I went back to the Doc today bc the girl’s fever was back *sigh* I guess we’re just gonna wait it out. We did homework for 7 hours last night. 7!! For 3 days worth and there will be 2 days yet at least this week as well. I did go ahead and get Tamiflu for the baby. I’m pretty sure after that 1st dose, I’ll never get him to take it again. I guess it’s pretty gross. I hope this helps him, he’s not doing so hot today. The doctor’s office just called to tell me I left my voodoo doll there. 🤣🤣🤣 Pretty sure that’s not something you hear every day. It fell off my purse, I had to explain that I wasn’t Satanic and it was a fun vacation souvenir. I think he thought I was nuts, lol. https://www.watchovervoodoo.com/index.php?usa-collection#.XkLz5SVOmEc
I got the original voodoo though, so I did feel the need to explain.
LOL. They’ve probably seen just about everything at a doctor’s office. Another voodoo doll left behind? Just another day at the office. Hahaha.
Hope your kids pick up soon. *hugs* Don’t wear yourself out on the homework!
Thanks! I can’t help but wear out on hw though, being behind everyone else is the worst feeling. I just can’t believe the amount of crap they have to do now. Blows my mind.
On the voodoo note- he at first said I left my twine doll. And I said, “oh, it must’ve fell off of my purse.” And he says, “is that what you call it though?” So I rush to explain, “oh no! It’s a voodoo doll, but I got it for fun on vacation, it’s not serious or anything!” *smacks forehead* and he chuckles awkwardly and says, “well it’s at the office for you to pick up.” I think he thought I was nuts.
Ha ha ha. Awkward…….
*snort*
It’s just a voodoo doll… nothing bad or anything. 😉
I have several little voodoo doll keepsakes from vacations. They’re just too cute. But, yeah, try explaining that at a doctor’s office. LOL.
I sent the hubs to pick it up this morning and evidently the nurses were obsessed, playing with it yesterday and asked where to get one. She wanted to practice to see if it worked. 😂
I’ve never read Cecelia Ahern. Unfortunately PS I Love You isn’t on sale on kindle Australia at the moment. Maybe I can get it from the library.
I’m intrigued by Weather a Novel. It’s still on pre-order here, but has a very expensive list price. I think I’ll wait on that one. Too expensive for me to take a chance on an unknown (to me) author. Kindle books are getting so pricy these days. I used to be able to get most for a very reasonable price, but not so much now. *sigh* Gotta keep my eyes open for those bargains.
Jan… it took me a few reads of that Weather synopsis to makes sense of it. It’s a bit convoluted and I can’t quite get a feel for what the mood of it will be.
Yeah I felt that a bit too. But it did look intriguing. Unusual.
Who else watched the sequel to To All the Boys I’ve loved Before?? I thought it was good, but I didn’t love it like I did the 1st one. I was actually rooting for John Ambrose. I didn’t feel as much chemistry between Lara and Peter. Wonder what happens in the third…
I kept trying to watch it, and it would only let me see a recap, then Netflix would bug-out on the actual play of the movie and tell me to try again later. ROAR!
Ugh!! I’ve had trouble with apps this week and last. A few times now I’ve had to delete them and re add the channels and I’ve never had that happen before (I have Roku).
Just finished Release by Aly Martinez. This was the first book I’ve read of hers and I love her writing style. I loved the banter between the H and H. I’m definitely looking forward to reading more from her.
It was a good one for sure!!! My favorite of her is her Wrecked and Ruined series:
https://www.maryse.net/reading-order-guide/aly-martinez-wrecked-and-ruined-series-reading-order.html
So laugh-out-loud funny at times… and also so angsty.
I ordered the dwarf tree today. I think it’s gonna be a pretty big size. She said if I change my mind, they’ll just sell it to someone else, no pressure. She said if the leaves wilt, I’m in trouble and now I’m scared. I try to be on top of my watering once a week, I hope I don’t mess it up. 😬
Happy Valentines btw, everyone!! ❤️❤️❤️ I’m ordering a heart pizza tonight to celebrate and maybe watching a movie with the littles.
I’m reading Amy Harmon’s arc, currently, and I know it’s going to take me a while to get through it. I’ve always had a fascination with Indians and I’m really, really into this “world” and characters she’s built. On the other hand, I have to finish In an Instant, so I’m jumping back to that quick bc I’m starting to feel overwhelmed with my growing collection of books, and the handful I’ve started, but not yet completed.
