YAY!! Okay I’m going to update the series reading order post from a few years ago right now. 🙂
I’m keen to read the upcoming Susan Elizabeth Phillips release, but when I went to preorder, I came to a sudden halt. Screeeeeechhh. Put the brakes on! It’s super expensive on kindle Australia. $28 AUD. Eek! That’s $19+ USD. I can’t imagine why it’s so expensive. Yeah, she’s a popular author, but really……..
I’m going to wait for a while. I’ll read some reviews once it’s out, and maybe wait for a price drop. IMO that’s just too expensive for a kindle book, considering I usually pay under $10 AUD for many popular and well known authors. Probably the most I pay is about $13 AUD for a top author like Lisa Kleypas. This is more than DOUBLE that. Pfft. Ridiculous.
Wow! that’s very pricey Jan. At my end, I also want to read it as well, but waiting for reviews.
It was Susan Elizabeth Phillips who got me hooked on romance novels.

I read Asher and Fighting Absolution this week. Asher was a snooze. I really didn’t like the h and it was sooooo boring. I had high hopes because of the premises 🙁
Fighting Absolution was good, but no great. I just hate miscommunication and secrets so much. I think 80% of the relationship problems in books could be solved with an honest conversation. Know I’m searching for new books for the rest of the week.

Completely unrelated, but I’m looking for creative ideas. I had a wooden barrel outside filled with plants, dirt, rocks and such for a dino garden last year. After the winter, it kids of fell apart. The barrel was old and the plants had died, so I got a new barrel to make another. But Goose has been at the old one, he perches in there and grabs sticks out of it and chews on the surviving grass. The whole thing has fallen apart now and I’m thinking of putting a galvanized tub out there in its place, special for Goose to do……what with? What would you fill it with?
Because it’s for Goose… I have no clue. LOL!! I had all of these pretty garden tub ideas, but what would Goose like?
Dirt and sticks, of course. But I can’t think of anything more clever. That’s why I was hoping for ideas. Lol
I have been all over today trying to get stuff for the new do o gardens. Plural bc I bought too many plants for the barrel and now have a swimming pool to work with. One of those days where nothing is easy or going to plan.

Just finished reading Sea of Ruin by Pam Godwin.
This book really packed a punch. Like no other historical romance I’ve read – a stellar & epic read. It may well appeal to readers who do not read historical romance…it’s not traditional and has a modern vibe.
Bennett is an amazing heroine…feisty, a bit broken, cunning, loving. Godwin writes exceptionally well, and paints a rich picture of all the men in her life (is every pirate gorgeous?). She also makes you feel like you’re right on the pirate ship feeling the sway, the sea and scents.
The story in multi-layered and has you constantly on the edge of your seat.
It’s steamy, angsty, risqué and colourful. This may be my book of the month. 5*****

Mony–did you read King of Libertines before Sea of Ruin? I thought it was a prequel, but I just read the blurb and it states that it can be read before or after Sea of Ruin.
I didn’t read King of Libertines…no need to read it. But now I’m intrigued about it..will look at it. 😉
