HAPPY MONDAY!! A NEW WEEK AHEAD OF US, & this new year is in fullllll swing! Kids are back to school, life is back to normal, and we are back to business. I already miss the Holidays. I miss Halloween, too.
THREE THINGS:
1.) I spent a super quiet weekend just regrouping, and took down the Christmas stuff on Three Kings Day (January 6). Watched a ton of football yesterday & slept through some of it (afternoon naps in front of the tv is my favorite), but I’m really dying to marathon watch (or look forward to watching) an amazing series. So…
2.) I’m looking for recommendations for series to devour. I like thrillers, and scary stuff, but also enjoy “based on true story” stuff. Have any must-see favorites? I’ve seen all of Yellowstone up to now… so not that one. Also watched the latest Dahmer one, and that had me hooked too. So not that one.
3.) I feel like I have all sorts of stuff to do. My to-do list is never ending. All sorts of little mini-fires to put out or finalize. *sigh* Adulting is hard! 😂

If you want to hop on the Wednesday (Netflix) band wagon ( if you already haven’t), it is worth it. We were hesitant to check it out, but glad we did. Hate to say but It’s pretty good..
I loved Wednesday so much and didn’t think I would either. After the first episode for me, it just got better and better.
My husband loves it too! I haven’t seen it.
I saw the first 4 episodes of Wednesday! It is very sweet and fun!! I watch it with my boyfriend’s son when he’s over, so that is not so much a marathon watch for us, but definitely a watch!!
1. I went to theaters to see Megan this weekend. 😱 I haven’t seen a scary movie on the big screen in over a decade. Now, bc my daughter is so into these scary movies now, I sucked it up and went for her. I’m glad it was a bit milder, but I was still scared. Lol!
2. I finished my 2nd read of the year with Wrong Place, Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister and it was pretty good! Mind bendy, twisty, good story I wanted to find the outcome of. It was just a bit long, in my opinion. I haven’t seen a physical accomplished stack of books here in so long and I’ve got a few now.
3. Making cheeseburger soup in the crockpot. It’s smells so good! I was trying to think of what I’d eat with it and I think I’ll do some pickles on the side, lol. Maybe a roll for the ones who don’t like them.
I want to see M3gan in the theater too! It looks fun! And I just finished a bowl of hamburger soup! But it’s more just ground meat and veggies with macaroni.
Okay all I want is a hearty soup right now.
You guys are killing me.
I like the macaroni with it, that sounds really good! I once accidentally put too much Mac in veggie soup and the kids were obsessed and said veggie soup is gross and to only make it that way. I have not, in fact, made it that way since. Maybe I should, lol.
OMG CHEEEEEESEBURGER SOUUUUUP!!!!!
Yes pickles on the side is perfect!!! And rolls. The whole thing sounds so freaking good!!!
It was so good! Here is the recipe I used, https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/13062/cheeseburger-soup-i/
My alterations, I used about 2lb ground turkey, no basil, didn’t divide any butter- just put the whole 4T. in the crockpot. I used a bag of frozen shredded hash browns, doubled the milk and chicken broth, maybe 1/2c. Sour cream- somewhere between them, a whole block of sharp cheddar cheese, a teaspoon of salt, some pepper, and a dash of Worcestershire. I subbed dried minced onion too. Threw all of it in the crock w/rest of ingredients and cooked on low for 6hours.
WHOA!!!! I will be making this and probably tomorrow. The boys will LOVE it.
1. We’re going to San Antonio to see the Pretty Woman musical tomorrow night and all I can think about is the shrimp paesano at Paesano’s on the Riverwalk where we’re eating. I’m craving it like nothing I have ever craved before!
2. I’ve added 10 minutes per day of marching up and down our stairs to my workout and that may not sound like much but you don’t realize how ridiculously out of shape you are until you do 10 minutes of stairs. 😆
3. I’m almost at the end of One Tree Hill and need a new show to binge too. But I need something mindless and girly like OTH (or Sweet Magnolias/Virgin River/Emily in Paris/Chesapeake Bay/etc.) Anyone have any ideas, hit me up! I prefer adults over high schoolers.
Firefly Lane recently had season 2 come out, I believe. I’ve watched like 2 episodes of the Sex Lives of College Girls on HBO Max and it’s pretty good. I suppose that’s more young adult though. I’m still really into Ghosts on Paramount+. It’s more of a quirky comfort show for me. I love that the episodes are short, mindless, the ghosts hilarious lines and drama of their past and the homeowner’s struggles to open a b&b.
Also, that musical sounds unique and fun- and I tried the stairs thing once or twice when I made time for workouts last year? Or beginning of this year? It hurt. I was dying, honestly. I remembered it conditioning for track on the bleachers and thought, that wasn’t so bad. 🤦♀️
I read somewhere that Athens is hilly so I’m trying to prepare myself as much as I can. The first day I did it, I didn’t think I’d be able to make it stick but it really does get easier. And it helps to listen to an audio book while I’m doing it!
What awesome motivation to get a workout in, and I’m glad to hear it does get easier.
Oh yeah! Thanks for the Firefly Lane reminder! I forgot a new season came out!
I’m loving Ginny & Georgia right now. When I mentioned that, everyone told me Magnolias next.
Yay! Thanks! I’ll check it out!
TV recs for you –
Based on true story: Blackbird, Dopesick, The Dropout
Thrillers: Inside Man, Jack Reacher, Money Heist, Kaleidoscope (I’ve only finished Money Heist of these – which was awesome! It’s Spanish but I watched it dubbed. The rest I’m watching now)
series recommendation Echo 3…..So amazing.. … I believe it’s on apple
*Waves* Just a fly by today.
Renee, In case you missed these…
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window -with Kristin Bell
The Flight Attendant with Kaley Cuoco
A quirky cool movie… Ruby Sparks with Zoe Kazan.
Thanks Mony! I bet The Woman would be good for Maryse too!
Ohhh I saw both of those (The woman, and the girl in the window). Totally my thing!!!
I haven’t seen the Flight Attendant yet, and was intrigued by that one. Thank you for reminding me!
😎
I have a kids book rec if anyone is interested. Perfect for ages 4-7- my 4 year old is in that really independent stage where he wants more freedom to do anything and everything and this book is one I got him for Xmas and he’s wanted to read more than once a day, every day. So, I just ordered 2 more. It’s What Should Danny Do? by Ganit & Adir Levy. The kids get to choose Danny’s actions throughout the story and see what the outcome will be depending on each choice that’s made.
sounds like a really good one Tasha. My grandson is almost three so think I’ll start a children’s tbr list with this one. thanks!
I’m going to add it to today’s Friday Finds. 🙂 So many here have children and are looking for these books, too. Thank you Tasha!
