Happy Monday! Short week and 4 day weekend, I’m ready for it!
1. I preordered a physical copy of SJM’s new release (next week). I’ve never had one of hers not on kindle. It’s so pretty, I couldn’t resist. It’s gonna be huge, lol!
2. Fleece lined leggings are one of the best inventions, ever.
3. I started craving peanut butter bread last night. Never heard of it or had it, but hoped it was a thing and surprise! It is and I found a recipe that has great reviews and made me think of you, Maryse. https://yummyinspirations.net/2020/05/peanut-butter-bread-recipe/
Also, finished a book and waffling between what I’m in the mood to start today. I’ve seen lots of crying with Four Winds- do I want to cry? Swoon? Or survive The Grace Year? I’ll think on it.
Oh! Bonus. My girl and I went to get a few more fabrics yesterday and I’ve convinced her to help me construct a book sleeve for myself (now she wants one too) and I’m so excited, I found the prettiest soft pink fabric with little astrology signs and Cassieopia in cream with little black stars and moons. I can’t wait to see it finished.
I’m thinking of getting some work/dress pants but in the yoga fabric – for comfort. A few pairs that I found have great reviews in regards to looking really professional.
I’m sick of real pants. LOL!!
Yeah, real pants suck when they start to get too snug. 🤣
Damn pants!!! 😂😂
That material sounds lovely…I can picture it in my head. Lucky you…I love working with colours!
Yesssss!!! Fleece-lined leggings are amazing!
Nate by Tijan is coming out tomorrow and it looks like a delicious enemies to lovers snack.
Weirdest thing, I was just skimming through Netgalley after reading your comment and was thinking there was a book by Tijan I wanted to read, but knew it hadn’t released yet. I wasn’t even looking directly for it, but The Insiders by Tijan is Read Now! I totally snagged a copy. 😃
I snagged it too!!
Just read the blurb on The Insiders…just the kind of story I like
Thank you Alina!!! I’m working on tomorrow’s post right now so I’ll add that in!! 😀
1. My little Alice is at the puppy hospital awaiting an ultrasound. The meds they gave her last week for her back appear to be the culprit, but not sure yet. She’s hasn’t eaten in 40 hours and has barely had any water. Anything she gets down comes right back up, but weirdly, they said she isn’t dehydrated. I really hope I can bring her home today because the last time I left an animal overnight, it didn’t come home, so I’m a little panicky.
2. Meanwhile, I’m in bed reading A Curse So Dark and Lonely and loving it. A fantasy. I don’t even know what’s happening to me.
3. Is it just me or were the commercials lacking last night?
Sweet Alice!!!! I am praying for her and I get you in regards to worrying for the anesthesia and stuff like that.
Our “office dog” that I’ve known and seen daily for 4 years just turned 15 not too long ago, and he went downhill fast in the last couple of weeks.
They just put him to sleep today. We’ve been a crying mess and my heart feels broken.
And yes, none of the commercials really spoke to me. But I did enjoy The Weeknd’s show because I like him so much already.
Oh Maryse. I remember you telling me about your “office dog”…sadly my girls went downhill quickly too around 15-16. It’s awesome to get them for that long…but hard to lose them. Hugs to you all.
I liked The Weekend too…although I know there was a lot of negativity about his performance…I enjoyed it!
Thank you. They diagnosed her with HGE and it’s good they caught it early. Not sure what happens now. They’re keeping her overnight to monitor. I don’t know if the stress of her pain meds caused it or if they caused an existing condition to expose itself.
Sorry about your office dog! I can’t imagine anything worse. I don’t know how I’d do it.
I liked his performance too. It wasn’t my favorite halftime show because I love the usual mix of genres, but considering what he had to work with, I think he did fantastic.
So sorry to hear that Maryse. We also lost ours at 16years. I was a mess for a while. Then I got a new puppy and it fixed everything, unless you’ve been through it, I don’t think you understand how much they are part of the family.
I agree. And while it takes awhile to get over, and actually you always miss them so much (I still miss my Pixel, and now Buddy), a new puppy (or 2) always seems to do the trick.
The only commercial that had me reacting (literally laughing out loud) was the one about 2020 being full of lemons. When the guy crashed on his bike, then the guy watering his lawn and watching it happen and smirking right before being pelted by a lemon…I lost it.
1. Ready for home and hot chocolate.
2. Have to go buy hot chocolate. And I think marshmallows.
3. Did I ever mention i got the first dose of the vaccine? It was painless and emotionally felt….like I cant describe. I hope if anyone is offered it, though I understand the fear, that you take it.
1. Watched the Super Bowl with my family. I know nothing about American football but sad to see the young QB lose after a great season.
2. We had onion rings at our little SB feast…they were so good. Hadn’t had those in years…reminded of A&W and root beet.
2. I am now alone in my airbnb…Joe’s back in 3 weeks…hmm, what shall I do? 🤭🤣☺️
Wolf Girl by Leia Stone, Just finished and I really loved it. It’s a Cinderella type story about young werewolves, where the upcoming alpha has to choose a mate. Well done. YA, low angst, good world building and the H is adorable. Just what I needed. 4-5★
Re-read Exodus (Book #2 Ravenwood series) in preparation for Book #3, The Finish Line (recently released). Exodus was just as amazing as ever…maybe even better than the first time around! 5★+
Sound of Silence by Dakota Willink…a GR group read. About a newlywed and her new husband Ethan and the unveiling of Ethan’s secrets. !!! Very intense…in fact too much for me (I am a big wuss). Great for those who like scary! The GR group loved it.
Ride with Me by Ruthie Knox
A great enemies-to-lovers slow burn romance about two pro cyclists, Tom and Lexie, as they complete the Trans-American Trail. Paced just right with good writing and hot sweaty MCs. 🙂 Down to earth, real. Bonus was learning about cycling, the terrain across several states and what it takes to do this trek. Recommend. 5★
For some reason not many of Ruthie Knox’s books are available on kindle Australia, including this one 🙁 Frustrating!
Jan, that’s too bad…This one was as good as Knox’s Truly & About Last Night. In some ways better because the story was focussed with no “added angst”…if that makes sense 🙂
1. I’m obsessed with Glow Recipe skin care. OBSESSED. Not only do they smell amazing, THEY WORK.
2. Starfruit tastes sooooo good.
3. It doesn’t matter how many times I watch Remember Me, I always tear up. I know what’s coming, but the reactions get me every time…Pierce Brosnan’s realization, the sister looking around and tearing up, the girlfriend hugging her dad, the stepdad stepping back, the best friend with his arm tattoo exposed in class, the mom trying to be engaged with tears in her eyes. It never fails to nail me in the feels. *sigh*
I need to know more about this Glow Recipe!!!!! I NEED IT. 😀
