Monday Early Bird Book Releases – 08-21-2023

HAPPY MONDAY EARLY BIRD RELEASES!! Oh boy it’s a small list of early bird releases today (15 books) & I suspect school starting this week is keeping everyone busy.

THREE THINGS:

1.) I went to this really cook “salvage” type of decor place, with beautiful wood pieces, furniture, imports, and a ton of art and rustic farmhouse & authentic nautical stuff. I got myself one of those big, minty-colored glass balls (fishing floats?) with rope tied up around it. I love it, and it fits the house theme (beachy/fisherman’s warfy). Ohhhh!! Exactly like these (rope exactly like this, and all – it’s even a bit dirty with sand stuck in a flat crevice)!! All old looking like that and everything. I specifically chose one that didn’t look shiny and new. Some had rope, some didn’t but I loved the rope.

2.) I bought an already HUGE elephant ear plant. It will likely get to be 10′ tall with immense leaves that provide a ton of shade, so I can’t wait to “plug it in” (plant it in the ground) and see how big it gets. I love tropical, lush, big leaf landscaping and I’m pretty thrilled that I’m living in an area of Florida that I can indulge (I’m more South Florida now, vs. being much further north in Florida, and so many of my beautiful plants and trees dying because of our frost issues). Now I don’t have to worry about that.

3.) Except for the hurricanes here… *sigh* And we have just hit this year’s hurricane season (and California was already hit hard). Last year, just a couple of months of having moved into this new house, Hurricane Ian tore up our roof (and we needed a complete replacement). Unbelievable. A fairly new roof, and here we were having to replace it. But! We were safe, and didn’t suffer flooding issues or even electrical outages, so I can only be thankful.
