THREE THINGS:

1.) I’m sick, y’know. I had the body aches, and the shivers, for all of Saturday, and now it’s finally turned into “cold” mode, with the sneezing and the coughing, and the kleenexes everywhere. 😂 I still feel like poop, but at least it’s not that sore throat/exhaustion/body-ache for just moving an inch mode anymore. That’s the worst. P.S. I found this peppermint-eucalyptus tea online and bought it a couple of months ago (for my “sick” kit), and HOLY MOLY it truly is soothing and for now… I can breathe. I’ve never seen it before in stores but I’m always going to have this on hand now.

2.) I’ve been watching Lifetime/Hallmark style Christmas movies non-stop! It’s all the same, but warm and cozy nonetheless.

3.) We wrapped presents last week, and laughed our butts off doing it. As organized and OCD about “aesthetic” as I am, I sure don’t have the gift-wrapping gene. Yikes!!! 😳 😂

lol, I am not a gift wrapper extraordinaire either. I often miscalculate how much paper, somehow and have to cut a strip extra to stuff in the gap. I hate that you’re sick! It always extra crappy when it’s around the holidays. I always get soo nervous when the kids bring something home close to Christmas. We still talk about that one year everyone felt like they were on their death bed.

1. All my book subscription boxes finally came in the mail today. They were being held hostage at the post office somewhere along the line and I was getting nervous I was going to have to call customer service. But, alas, they are here! I’m currently reading and loving so far, The Wishing Game. Less than 300 pages so hoping to be done this week.

2. I’ve been wrapping gifts as I get them this year, during nap time. It feels really good to be so on top of it, but also, I feel like I’m forgetting things. I’m a little lost on what all I’ve purchased- I swear, I’ve made purchases every other day since Black Friday bc I had no organization this year. I think I know what I have left to get, but also doubting some things will arrive on time and just overwhelmed per usual. I forgot to plan out some games and pick a day to do it- do I have a day? I don’t know. And a Xmas movie or something and snacks. I also decided to make a chicken pot pie last minute (I’ve never attempted to make one) for my Mom’s Xmas bc everyone is bringing yucky stuff. 😂 I have the least time, but what the heck, I want to eat something good. Anyone have a tried and true recipe?

3. I impulsively purchased a summer vacation on a whim and decided to reveal it on Xmas. I mean, we were throwing around ideas of where to go and all that, but no real location or dates or anything. And I happened to choose a shark tooth shadow box for my son’s Xmas gift and thought, how fun would it be to find some teeth ourselves to put in this thing? And then my Mom said Venice beach was great for that and I said let’s go to Venice! And she said could be pricey there and I went over to Airbnb to look and found a super host with a pool (we never get the pools) for an amazing price and it just feels too good to be true. I’ve never hunted teeth before, I’m so excited! We haven’t been to FL in 4 years I think?

Oh, and I finished a book! This Spells Love by Kate Robb was really good, better than I expected. I’d say 4.5 for me, rounded up to 5. 🙂

Venice beach is sooooo close to me!!!!! Like half an hour away. HOW. COOL!!

We’ve been there for shark teeth (really quick with my fiancé’s son) and he found a bunch (all tiny, but we didn’t stay long enough to really dig in and get to work).

It is so beautiful there! GREAT vacation idea!!! This area of Florida is amazing, and I do many weekend walks on these beaches. So healthy and soul-soothing.

Oh and we’ll likely be making prime rib for Christmas supper. We LOVE it, so why not? I’d love a chicken pot pie, but these kids do not eat vegetables so even just the peas and carrots and whatever else is in there, they’d likely turn their nose up at. 😂

I, however, LOVE chicken pot pie. So ridiculously calorie intensive but so worth it.

My parents are doing turkey and fish patties. I don’t even know if it’ll be leftover from Thanksgiving or not. And someone is bringing potato salad and someone is bringing shrimp dip and cheesecake. It all sounds like the grossest combination to me and I’d take prime rib over it! 😂 I just want something filling and comforting that my kids have no choice but to eat or they’re getting the other stuff I KNOW they won’t eat. I’m thinking just a top crust, maybe that puff pastry in the freezer aisle?
