OMG!!! You guys KNOW I went CRAZY for a past rock star duet from this author (“The Encore Duet” she is AH-MAZING!!!), and I am so thrilled that she’s sponsoring this week’s Friday newsletter featuring her latest rock star release “Deliverance (The Deviant Hearts Book 2)” (and new series).
Kim: I have read all her books and hands down LOVE, LOVE , LOVE her writing! I want to leave work so I can start this one
Hali: OMG! I can’t wait to read this book! She is an awesome writer!
Book #1 is Rapture (The Deviant Hearts Book 1) and while they CAN be read as standalones, since they are both members of the same band, it’s way more fun to devour in order. 😉
Just look at how much our crew loved book “Rapture”:
Nay: Rapture by N.N. Britt – An angsty, emotional rollercoaster rockstar romance that deals with some dark stuff. Like “No Tomorrow”, it’s much different from other rockstar books, and lots of people are loving it–I floved it! The author is an L.A.-based photographer and journalist in the rock ‘world’, so she knows her subject matter very well.
Michele G: I thought it was truly amazing! He’s a rock idol…need I say more? Actually, I should…she is a grieving mother…so it’s not all guitars and sunshine…it’s gritty, real and a little painful at times. It’s such a good story…and this is her debut!
Melinda: I just read a fantastic book called Rapture by NN Britt and Nay was the editor and Robin helped too. Great book 5 stars from me. It was a Rockstar book. My Favourite.
R. Renee: I loved Rapture
Nay: Dark and gritty and ohhh the angst! I fell in love with Hazel and Justice (especially Justice!)
Mony: Wow, I’m excited to read all of these! At some point maybe we should do something where we get people’s recommendations on more rockstar reads. Cause I sure missed this author… 🙂
Michele G: I highly recommend you give Rapture a go. I love all of her books but it’s my fave!
Robin D: Rapture was a very good book. A Rock Star but not rock band story. Cannot wait to read this next.
So what’s Deliverance about?
A famous drummer with time and money to burn.
A young artist on the cusp of international stardom.
A danger lurking in the shadows.Powerhouse rocker Zander Shaw is The Deviant’s last single man standing. With the band on hiatus, he’s been globe-trotting and spending his hard-earned money on women, extreme sports, and partying. Los Angeles is only supposed to be a pit stop—track drums for infamous metalcore outfit Bleeding Faith and move on. Until a beautiful, mysterious woman gives him a good reason to stick around.
Up-and-coming artist Drew Kadence made L.A. her home a few years ago. Almost no one knows she’s on the run from a violent past. But when handsome drummer Zander enters her life and rattles all her defenses, she can’t deny the fact that their chemistry is through the roof. Problem is, she’s not sure she’s ready to dive into a relationship. Especially since her divorce isn’t finalized yet.
The more Drew gets to know Zander, the more she’s attracted to him. But Zander’s simple gig unravels his old demons, and Drew’s demons are gaining on her. Now they both have to face their fears.
Will love give them the strength to do it together or will they each have to do it alone?
*Deliverance can be read as standalone, but for a more fulfilling experience and to better understand the world of The Deviant, it’s recommended to read Rapture first.
The author says:
…meet Zander and hear his side of the story.I can not wait for you to meet him and some of the other guys from Rapture.I had such an interesting time writing about Zander’s passion for drums. Drums are fascinating, and I’m truly lucky that I had an opportunity to talk about it with a good friend of mine who has been working with drums all his life. I hope you’ll enjoy getting behind the scenes look at how music is made.
And okay… while I’m here, I’ll plug in my reviews of her other rock star duet that I loved just so you get a feel of how much I (and many of us here) LOVED these. In fact, book #1 made my “Best of 2020” list.
Kim: Saw your review and I had to read. Stayed up all night I absolutely loved it. I just want to hug Frankie. He was so sweet. I’m onto book two cause that ending OMG!!!!
Nay: OMG! SOOO good! The writing is every bit as good as in Final Serenade, if not better, and Ohhhh the angst!!! I can’t wait for everyone else to read it!! …I can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks! I loved One Last Verse SO much. The writing is amazing!
Cheryl: Just finished the NN Britt duet. Loved it! It’s been a while since I couldn’t stop reading. 🙂
Michele G: YES!! I have loved everything NN Britt has written….Final Serenade is no exception…it’s wonderful! She definitely writes a great rockstar romance. They suck me in and don’t let me go until the bitter end….of course this little gem has a cliffy….fortunately the second part of the duet is out very soon! I’m looking forward to it….stalking it might be a better term 🙂

N.N. Britt is a Los Angeles-based music journalist and photographer. Her photos have graced t-shirts, billboards, and CD covers. She pens realistic, thought-provoking novels about today’s world of art and music and the flawed people who live in it. When she’s not writing or drinking coffee, she’s probably reading or attending a heavy metal show.
I don’t have a favorite rock star book. But real life I love Shinedown and Brent Smith’s voice. Or Michael Hutchence from INXS had that voice and was hotter than sin. God rest his soul.
I love the Stage Dive series!
Allman brothers
I loved the Fallen Angel trilogy by Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank. It’s MM and soo good.
I loved the Sinners on Tour series by Olivia Cunning, especially Trey, he was my favorite!
Carian Cole’s Ashes and Embers series are my favorite rock band reads. Always looking for another.
Lick by Kylie Scott was one of those books you could not put down. Thanks for the chance to win!
This sounds amazing, i love Kylie Scott’s Play series!!
My favorite band: Red Hot Chili Peppers also
Love the Rock Me series by Lee Piper
I love The Might Storm by Samantha Towle.
I love a good rock star read… so hard to pick a favorite. I’ll have to say Lick, but so many I’ve loved.
