Time for another author news round up, and today it may be short, but it’s certainly sweet! Let’s start off with the big “release” news of the day. Which is this Sunday Surprise…
<—- IT’S LIVE!!!!!!! THE LATEST BY CORINNE MICHAELS (Say I’m Yours) IS LIVE ALERT!!!! Oooooooh sounds like unrequited love!!! She’s been in love with him forever, and he doesn’t respond…
“Iβm done being invisible.
Itβs time to move on.
A single dance sets my new reality into motion, and I welcome it. After all, Cooper Townsend is perfect. Heβs kind, sexy, and attentiveβeverything a girl could want.
I thought I got it right this time.
That my heart could mend, and I would be happy.
Apparently, some things really are just too hard to walk away from…”
And here’s the latest in our book world:
Tijan just announced the release of TWO MORE Fallen Crest books (FALLEN CREST 6 (Fallen Crest Series)Β ANDΒ FALLEN CREST 7 (Fallen Crest Series)Β and posted the cover reveal, title reveal, blurb and an excerpt of #6 (“Fallen Crest Home“)!!! Here’s just a small snippet of all that she posted to give you an idea. π
She was going back home to see her mother…
“I avoided her for a year and a half, but I couldnβt hide anymore.
Mason had an internship in Fallen Crest, so we headed back for the summer.
And when we got thereβno one was prepared for what happened.”
Colleen Hoover just posted a gorgeous, eerie teaser on her Facebook page for her upcoming bookΒ Without Merit: A Novel. Now I’m getting an “idea” of what we’re in for, and it’s full on pure Colleen Hoover-sounding!! YAY US!!!! It says:
“Not every mistake deserves a consequence. Some only deserve forgiveness.”
Colleen Hoover‘s upcoming tv series for her novel ConfessΒ now has a “First Look” video available! ”
Confess First Look
The cast and creators give a behind the scenes first look at Confess. Premieres Tuesday, April 4.”
Meghan Quinn lets us into a little “behind the book” information about her latest releaseΒ Co-WRECKERΒ (about the nerdy guy that wanted his co-worker to finally notice him). “…I would have even settled for her seeing me as anything but a nerd β but there was no getting through. So just like any hard-headed, red-blooded man out there, I made up my mind.Β Iβd make my coworker fall for me...”Β Well, much of this story was based on the author’s OWN love story.Β She says:
“…we are going to be talking about Co-WRECKER and how much of it is our actual love story.
**HINT HINT** there is a lot of it that’s our love story. “
Abbi Glines has a new book coming out in less than a month!Β Boys South of the Mason DixonΒ will be releasing April 24th. You can check our the whole blurb, but here’s a snipper from it. π
Welcome to the world of the Sutton boys. Five brothers who fight, party, drink a little too much, but more importantly, they love their momma. Nothing can tear them apart⦠until the girl next door wins more than one of their hearts.
Christina LaurenΒ alert!! TWO new books coming out!!!Β AutoboyographyΒ (M/M ROMANCE!!!) and OH YOU GUYS this one I know will be good. bev!!!!! Fabi!!!! Everyone!!! Just check out this mini-blurb. You’ll see! And here are the real details over on “Hypable” which reveals the cover, gives us more in depth detail on what the book is about, PLUS an excerpt!!
FangirlΒ meetsΒ Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens AgendaΒ in this funny and poignant coming-of-age novel fromΒ New York TimesΒ bestselling author Christina Lauren about two boys who fall in love in a writing classβone from a progressive family and the other from a conservative religious community.
Christina Lauren has another upcoming release calledΒ RoomiesΒ and the tease on that one is just perfect for us! “Marriages of convenience are soβ¦inconvenient.”

Amy: Hey ladiesβ¦
*smacks hand repeatedly on table*
LADIES!!!!!!
Hausfrau is on sale… did ya hear me? HAUSFRAU IS ON SALE…!!!!!
Donβt think. Just go click.
What the what?!? Tessa!!! Fallen Crest, Two more?!? Yes!!!!
Both of those Christina Lauren books look really good.
I KNOW IT!!!
P.S. That comment is for both of you. LOL! π
Thank you! OMG OMG OMG, and the last one won’t be a year from now. She was sneaky and obviously was writing both of them before releasing it. Next month, 6 will be mine. In May… 7 will be mine! YEAH! And yeah, she’s gotta deal with that psycho. π
I’m so excited! The buying restriction will be OVER by then!!!! Squee!!! I have mad love for Christina and Lauren too, obviously! I just kinda got stuck on the Fallen Crest news! Oh happy day, π
TWO MORE FALLEN CREST BOOKS?!?
SQUEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
(Totally channeling Ela there…but it’s warranted!!)
It is! Our Mason… (Who is mine. You have Aiden!) is coming back!
Amy! *joins hands, spins around* Tessa and I are going to BR, come on, you know you wanna!!
I can’t wait for Roomies. Autoboyography might be a bit too YA for moi, but I’m keeping an open mind. (Christina Lauren, nuff said).
The new Abbi Glines one might have possibilities. I do like getting sucked into series about siblings or groups of friends, and it looks like that’s what this could be the start of.
I’m not much for the YA books either Jan. I agree Roomies does look good, but good lord, OCTOBER!! Wow that’s a long tease.
Also, Say I’m Yours- one click!!
Mason is still all yours, Tessa…Aiden will always be my guy. π
I’m so glad she’s continued this series. I can’t believe (well, actually I can *snort*) that I almost passed over FCH years ago because of the original cover that looked like a sketch of a girl’s face.
Amy, don’t tell, but I’ve been cheating on Mason with Seth. Shhh, k?
And yes. Yes I do believe you almost missed it because of the cover. If I were to judge a book by it’s cover, The Weaving Man is a Edwardian mystery and NOT MY TYPE, or else such crap, they couldn’t get a decent cover.
So much to look forward to and I got Hausfrau finally! Been waiting for that to go on sale!
I hope we get some Logan in the new FC books!
No. Sam and Mason are going to abandon Logan now that he has a girlfriend.
NOOOOOOOO!!! They CAN’T abandon him…They’re the fearsome threesome!!!
The Serpent King is still only 1.99 right now. This book is usually a lot more.
lol I was being sarcastic Amy. *hugs*
11:30 PM rant:
Neighbor Dearest takes place in Sunnyville. I live in Santa Clara. To get from here to Sunnyvale, you go under a highway bridge and poof, you are in Sunnyvale. To get to Sunnyvale, with lights takes maybe, at max, ten minutes. To get out of Sunnyvale from there to the next city takes Maybe ten more minutes. It’s not that big of a city.
San Jose is the same. I drive down El Camino and suddenly I realize it’s called Alameda and it’s San Jose. I think maybe another Hwy bridge? So…
The H lives in Sunnyvale. His mom lives in San Jose, Willow Glen district. (Tons of lights to get there, so it takes maybe twenty – twenty five minutes do to a bazillion lights). So, let’s do the math there, at most, to get there would take an hour, right? And they are taking the freeway, so probably more like 30-45 min.
Nope. It takes hours, with a rest stop. He doesn’t go often because it’s so far away. He stays overnight so not to drive far! Now, I forgave a lot up to this point. I figure, I don’t know all areas of Sunnyvale, so sure… maybe it has an art district where you can just paint a mural without a bunch of city permits. I forgave that you think it’s possible to buy two apartment buildings for three million. I even forgave the fact that a woman who works in a youth rec. center can afford a really nice one bedroom apartment in Sunnyvale. I mean, I haven’t been all over there. It might be possible…
However, the hours of driving is just GAH! Authors, please note. Some of us live in these areas. RESEARCH!!!!
/ends rant and goes to sleep
Tessa, I cannot stand things like that in books. Make me RAGEY!!! Because CR is set in real world, you expect most of it to be somewhat realistic. Obviously we can forgive some…..but come on!?! Anyway, despite me loving Stepbrother Dearest (5 * and I almost never 5*) and the hot cover of Neighbor Dearest, I kind of hated it. I couldn’t even finish it and had no idea about the issues you had.
Thanks Lauren. I love the story, but it was ridiculous. I looked it up on the map, and mountain view (the city next to Sunnyvale) to the Willow Glen district is approx 18 min. :/
That drives me crazy too. I have half of mine set in Miami (where I’ve never been) but I’ve found two locals to fact check for me. I research the heck out of stuff, but things like, who calls South Beach “South Beach” and who calls it SoBe? Are there nicknames for major highways? how prevalent are billboards? Most of that you need inside info for!
Maryse is from Florida.
Otherwise, watch Golden Girls.
*files Golden Girls under research* π
This is why I love alternate universe, urban fantasy, etc. You don’t have to get all the details right. In the movies, they have people who do just that – make sure everything is believable, etc. While all the “local” distracts me if I know better or have been there, there is one pet peeve that bugs me more.
Okay – my pet peeve – when they go to dinner or something, and they have a conversation that takes like 4 turns (because the author puts all the dialogue there) – and the dinner shows up, or they get the bill and leave. According to my watch, it’s been like 3 minutes tops, and there is no mention of any “filler time”. It happens all the time. I hate “time hops” that don’t fit. Does that make sense? They say three things and arrive in a cab. That kind of thing. At least reference what happened during the rest of the time! UGH. Bothers me every single time.
And one more “pet peeve” (I have dozens, LOL)…. when the author uses “the eyebrow” too much. The hero’s eyebrow goes up, and it’s supposed to be really sexy or something. So I asked my hubby to do it. It looked weird and like he was trying to be a cartoon character. I can’t imagine in real life anyone raising their eyebrow so seductively. It’s not easy. How about a wink? I love a guy that winks. (Like Graham Grant from The MacGregors series. He was a “winker”. And Jmaie Fraser, who tries to wink. LOL).
LOL MichelleS and I’m always *waggling* my eyebrows on here. π π
He was a “winker” <——- I totally saw "wanker" at first. *snort*
My pet peeve…when authors put their friend's book titles in their story. Like, the MC states they picked up and started reading blah-blah-blah by what's-her/his-face. π I've seen it a handful of times, and it just annoys me.
MichelleS you asked your husband? I love that. You should totally make up a list of common hero actions for your husband to try.
Oh, and how is this for weird…I actually LIKE it when characters from books by one author make quick, unexpected cameos in a book by another author. Like when Kellan (via a KelSex concert, UGH!) made a cameo in the last Avoiding book. It’s the book title and author name inserting that makes my eye twitch.
I know, that’s a b!tchy thing to say… π³
