<— RIGHT OFF THE BAT!!! VI KEELAND BIG NEWS ALERT!! We’re kicking off this Sunday with book-style, ’cause Egomaniac is LIVE right now (what a cover!!!). It sounds so fun.

Teresa: Gonna be good !! Can’t wait to read this :)

I bet it will be too, Teresa. I’ve read so much by this this author and just love her! Okay so… she was scammed out of her office rental (which was really HIS office, but he was out of town and had no idea what was happening…), so he allows her to use HIS office space for her business as long as she helps him with his calls, too. But…

The two of us were complete opposites. Drew was a bitter, angry, gorgeous-as-all-hell, destroyer of relationships. And my job was to help people save their marriages.

The only thing the two of us had in common was the space we were sharing.

Eeeeep! I love “roommate books” and “office romance” books and this one seems to mix the best of both worlds. Plus it sounds like he’s a divorce lawyer? Or some kind of private investigator? And she sounds like a couples therapist so… yep. I’m already imagining all sorts of scenarios!!! :D

Alessandra Torre‘s latest is going live at midnight!!!!! Love in Lingerie <— And speaking of office romance books, this one was a bit of everything we love from this author, in full on office-crush mode! Super slow burn, super steamy, fun (and funny!), but with some romance angst (but not TOO angsty) that has us connecting. And so… in case you missed it yesterday, I wrote a review!

My ➜ Book Review – Love in Lingerie by Alessandra Torre

Finding Kyle <— Sawyer Bennet JUST RELEASED THIS ONE!!! RECLUSIVE NEIGHBOR ALERT & IT JUST WENT LIVE! ”Kyle Sommerville is in hiding and doesn’t want to be found by anyone. Certainly not by his quirky, free-spirited neighbor who’s managed to push her way past the walls he’s built around him. But Jane Cresson’s indomitable will and insatiable curiosity about her reclusive neighbor makes it impossible for Kyle to stay immersed in his dark world…

Amanda Hocking has a new book out! She was one of the original indies that became a HUGE hit in our book world, and while I haven’t heard much from her for awhile, this one was JUST released this month! Freeks: A Novel <— and WHAT A GORGEOUS COVER!!! She was also featured in an interview about the book (On the Barnes & Noble blog), explaining some of the scarier stuff while writing this book, and how her writing process has definitely changed. Very introspective and honest. Writing used to be her escape, but now it’s become so much more in her life… with lots of added pressure. Here’s a tiny snippet from the interview where she says:

“The good news is that I do think asking these questions has made me a better writer and made my books better. I challenge myself more, and ironically, I think I’ve started taking more risks with my writing. The bad news is that it has made the writing process less fun than it used to be. Writing a book used to be a solitary activity, and in a lot of ways it still is, but now I have a thousand little voices sitting on my shoulder, judging every word I write.”

Jodi Ellen Malpas has a new book announcement!! “The Forbidden” is not up for preorder yet, but it’s expected to go live in August 2017! I searched the comments of this post to get more details, and she does indicate it WILL be a standalone, and the blurb is coming soon.

Kristen Ashley will be signing at “Turn the Page Book Store Cafe” on February 4th, and she posted THIS (with extra detail, by the book store, so you can go prepared). She says:

The folks at Turn The Page Bookstore Cafe kindly offered some information to my post yesterday about my appearance at their awesome store with romance greats Nora Roberts, Laura Griffin, Lori Foster, Kristan Higgins, Patty Taylor and Suzi Weinert. We’ll all be at their store February 4.

Have a read so if you’re going, you’ll go prepared!

Karina Halle AND her husband wrote a book together!! Rocked Up <— is already up for preorder and I totally get a kick out of that cover, and title (fun play on words, considering he’s a rock star… surprise pregnancy??) I like those! She’s been in love with a rock star that hasn’t ever noticed her before (her dad is the CEO of the record company). And now she’s auditioning for his band. “…Remember when I said that Brad never used to notice little ol’ me? Well, Brad’s noticing me now. In a way that’s going to get us both in trouble. My name is Lael Ramsey and we all know how this will turn out.”

PLUS!!!!! She also announced an upcoming book release by her husband, alone!! It’s called “Sex, Love and Rock n’ Roll” (what AN AMAZING cover!!! Seriously WOW!!!) and it will be going live next week (no preorder yet) but she says:

“THIS book – Sex, Love and Rock n’ Roll – is 100% him. It is a romance. But it’s different. The male POV is abrasive. He’s not for everyone. There is a lot of sex and raw scenes that people may be uncomfortable with. If you’ve read Choke or any Chuck Palahniuk novels, it’s a similar vibe, but with Scott’s own style (he’s a musician and his lyricism inspires me!)”

Caroline Kepnes NEWS!!!! Okay so y’all know I loved her creepy stalker er… “love story“ You: A Novel AND the sequel “Hidden Bodies: A Novel” and guess what? You is going to be a Lifetime movie!! Or will it be a show? I’m not quite sure yet, on the details, but Entertainment Weekly announces it here. Funny thing… how they “innocently” blurbed it, makes a few of us think some viewers are going to be in for a surprise. *snort* Mara White puts it best when she posted about it (and that blurb) on her Facebook. Look!! YIKES!!!! Look what they say:

“You is a 21st-century love story about an obsessive, yet brilliant twentysomething who uses the hyper-connectivity of today’s technology to make the woman of his dreams fall in love with him.”

Okay.. P.S. Here are my reviews of both books (in case you missed ‘em): Book Review – You by Caroline Kepnes and Book Review – Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes

Anne Rice was interviewed in this article (titled: “Anne Rice Reveals Why She Brought the Vampire Lestat to the Realms of Atlantis”). The entire article is fascinating, especially because she also divulges why she came back to her “vampire world” after so many years (here’s just a snippet about what she has to say on that subject):

“…they were really associated in my mind with pain, more than anything else. Pain and despair. And I had run out of what to say any more with them.

But what didn’t die for me—and never does die—is this sense of Lestat as real. And this enormous desire to get back to his world, and to be with him, and to approach the world through him. Finally after eight years, I was missing him badly and the stories were coming to mind, new ideas, new things. I wanted to get back to him…”

Nicole Williams just posted the paperback cover reveal for her awesome-sounding book, Hate Story, and honestly? I LOVE this new one much better. It has a darker feel, and seems more appropriate for this angsty sounding romance (a fake-marriage arrangement but “…the more she gets to know this soon-to-be-husband of hers, the more she discovers just how very much she truly, madly, and deeply . . . hates him. This isn’t a love story. This is the other kind.”). OH YEAHHHH! That sounds great! But the other cover was a little more… “cute and cocky” looking. You can see them both on Amazon as the paperback has the new version, and the ebook has the original cover. Which one do you like better? Which one would have attracted you more to the story? She says:

“I’ve always wanted to do this, and after six years of publishing, I finally did. I had two separate covers created for HATE STORY, one for the ebook, and one for the paperback. The paperback just went live, so . . . TA-DA! What do you think?”

A.L. Jackson has a new bad-boy rock star book coming out January 23rd!!! It’s called “Stay” and sounds like it will be signature A.L. Jackson romance angst! ”…Willow Langston found me at my lowest. Literally. Facedown in a puddle of my own blood. I owe her my life and I have three months to repay that debt...” While there’s no preorder yet, you can see the full blurb, and the trailer here.

Julie Richman just recently posted the super-sexy cover reveal for her upcoming book, “The Do-Over”.  It’s a standalone second-chance romance. There’s no preorder yet, but at least you can feast your eyes for a bit. Tee hee!!! :P P.S. It will be out January 26th 2017 and

L.P. Dover has a new book releasing early February called Trigger: A Circle of Justice Novel. Strangely enough, you can order the paperback right now though? It seems so. Cool title, gorgeous cover, and it kind of sounds dark. And it’s a standalone!

C.D. Reiss announced her new book and cover reveal for Bombshell (Hollywood A-List Book 1) (going live May 1st). About a Hollywood heartthrob that discovers he’s got a 5 year old love child. Oops. ;) And so he gets a nanny. “Cara DuMont isn’t exactly thrilled when she gets assigned to be the nanny for the latest box-office king. She has one rule: no celebrity fathers…

About the book, she says:

“I’m so pleased to announce Montlake books will publish my next standalone contemporary romance!”

Kendall Ryan also announces a steamy new novel coming out in March!! The Play Mate (Roommates Book 2) is up for preorder, and each book can be read as a standalone (even if this is the second in the series). Friends to lovers… and it’s his best friend’s little sister. And here’s just a bit from the blurb:

She’s crushed on Smith forever. Surely tricking her way into his bed will force him to see her in a new, adult way.

Except that when Evie’s plan leads to disaster, she and Smith must decide—ignore the attraction sizzling between them, or become play mates and risk it all.

And a few super-bargain finds to squee about!

  • Black Swan Affair by K.L. Kreig <— ANGSTY ROMANCE, it was a big hit and it’s super-bargain priced today.
  • Call Me Daddy by Jade West <— JUST WENT LIVE & it’s super-bargain priced! “I didn’t expect to spend my eighteenth birthday stranded in the pouring rain with no way to make it home. I didn’t expect to be rescued from the worst night of my life by the most amazing man I’d ever seen...”
  • Offensive Rebound: Holding Court by M.J. Fields <— JUST WENT LIVE!!! BASKETBALL STAR ALERT!I inherited the Bad News Bears of the NBA. When I discovered the star center, my ex fiancé, cheating on me, all I want is to jump ship before the whole thing sinks. But with revenge on my mind, I exact a plan. Take down the dirty player and save my father’s dream. Suddenly twelve minutes is too little time, and a season is not long enough…

Fabi January 15, 2017 at 11:59 AM

I’m starting Egomaniac this week. I’m super excited about it because…Vi Keeland :D

Fabi January 15, 2017 at 12:09 PM

Dang it! I can’t believe there’s no pre-order for Karina Halle’s hubby’s book. :-( It comes out on the Jan 18th, Sex, Love & Rock n Roll by Scott MacKenzie. Somebody please, please remind me. This one is mine, mine, mine.

Maryse January 15, 2017 at 1:25 PM

I’ll remind you!!!! I’m so curious about it!

Fabi January 15, 2017 at 1:27 PM

Thank you!!! She had me at the “gritty characters” description. Miiiine! lol

Jean January 15, 2017 at 1:57 PM

Wow, so many goodies! Rocked Up, yep preordered! And yes I definitely want Sex , Love and Rock n Roll! I just got Trigger as an ARC! It looks really good! Love in Lingerie sounds like a no-brainer too! All these new releases are definitely distracting me from my TBR lists! (I just reread my comments…I think I went a little exclamation point crazy lol)

Linda January 15, 2017 at 2:11 PM

Cannot wait to meet Kristen Ashley on February 4 at Turn the Page bookstore!!! I’ve had this date circled on my calendar for several months!!!!

bev January 15, 2017 at 4:17 PM

Linda, is that Nora Roberts bookstore? A blog I read two of the bloggers are going to that signing. Some other authors will be there too I believe?

Linda January 15, 2017 at 4:52 PM

Yes Bev it’s Nora Roberts bookstore in Boonsboro, MD., about 15 minutes from my house. Of course I’m very excited to meet the other authors but Kristen Ashley!!!!! Cannot wait. Lol.

bev January 15, 2017 at 6:45 PM

It sounds super fun, Linda. I’m a KA fan and a NR fan from back in the day.

Hey, Maryse?
We were talking about R’s love of a beta hero…..and you should totally put out a call and make a list up. ;)

R. Renee January 15, 2017 at 6:54 PM

I’m all over that!! But what exactly is a beta hero? I’m assuming the opposite of an alpha? Boy next door? Who cares, a list for me sounds awesome lol :D

bev January 15, 2017 at 7:05 PM

Uses the heroine’s name? Speaks in full sentences? Wears more than a Henley and jeans…..youth that is a good look?

bev January 15, 2017 at 7:05 PM

Youth =though. Grr.

Grey January 15, 2017 at 7:15 PM

*snort* oh God bev, your autocorrect is the best!

bev January 15, 2017 at 7:49 PM

It’s something. Also, becoming worse.

Kathy P January 15, 2017 at 8:22 PM

There are two great books that are free right now. If you like M/M romances, Curious (The Finn Factor) is free right now. Love this series. There are 6 books in the series and all are really good. Most in the series are M/M but there is one that is M/F and one M/M/F. The second book is Verite by Rachel Blaufield. It is a sports romance talking place in college which deals with inter racial dating, 4.5 for me!

Tessa January 15, 2017 at 8:32 PM

Oooh, then R. Read Chance by Charlotte Casey. He definitely wasn’t alpha, but instead, even though it’s a rockstar romance, he’s super smart, a little timid, and just pure sweet.

Jan January 15, 2017 at 8:41 PM

One of my fav book boyfriends could be called a beta. Luke the H of Heartless by Mary Balogh. Why is he a beta? Well, it’s a Georgian HR, and Luke has been living in fashionable Paris and likes to dress in all the beautiful regalia, and has even been known to use a fan LOL (much to the shock of the plebs in London!) He’s good-looking but not super tall and not all OTT muscled and alpha – not much taller than Anna, the h. And in a moving moment of deep emotion and grief in the book, he cries alone at his brother’s grave. But he’s all man underneath everything. OMG even though I usually prefer the bossy alphas, I’m in love with Luke in this book.

Jan January 15, 2017 at 8:45 PM

The H in Grace Grows is a super-sweetie and I guess not an alpha. He’s a singer too.

bev January 15, 2017 at 8:48 PM

Lol, it’s a trip the Georgian dress for men.
I remember reading about Avon and his clothes and shoes. But nothing beta about Avon.
Gah, I love him, lol.

Tessa January 15, 2017 at 8:49 PM

OMG, I can’t believe I didn’t remember this. Georgina Kinkade sereis by Richelle Mead has such a sweet beta hero. R, I found a PNR book you might like!

Darkest Night by Gena Showalter is only $1.99!! I’ve been dying to read this series, but keep getting sidetracked by the price. (YEP, I bought it!!)

bev January 15, 2017 at 8:57 PM

Carter from Nora Roberts Vision in White.
Coen from Maybe Maby by Willow Aster.

Leslie M January 15, 2017 at 9:00 PM

Tessa, Chance sounds awesome!!!

Also, soooooo many good ones that have my name on them.

Love in Lingerie
Finding Kyle
Rocked Up
Hate Story
Call me Daddy (yup, MichelleS, I’m loving this too)

I’m gonna get blister on my clicking finger.

bev January 15, 2017 at 9:13 PM

Levi from Rainbow Rowell ‘ s Fangirl.

R. Renee January 15, 2017 at 9:47 PM

One clicked Tessa! Thanks!

Thanks Jan! I’m looking into Heartless. It’s $$$ and HR and I don’t know if I’ve ever read a true HR before! Downloaded a sample of Grace Grows. Found a paperback for under $5 new!

Tessa curious about Richelle Mead. Checking that one out! Thanks!

Fangirl is intriguing…

Thanks guys! :D

Jan January 15, 2017 at 10:14 PM

Call Me Daddy?? LOL. I don’t think I’ll be going there…..

bev, Avon from These Old Shades. Yeah, no. He’s never a beta is he? He loves his gorgeous clothes too, but he’s a magnificent alpha all the way. Another beloved book boyfriend of mine….. sigh………

R. I hope you read and love Heartless. *jumps up and down in excitement* Some of the beautiful moments in that book will always have a special place in my heart. The way Luke and Anna’s love grows and develops is so beautifully done……

Grace Grows is a nice little read, too.

Nay January 15, 2017 at 10:23 PM

Tessa and R–I thought I recommended Georgina Kinkade the other day when we were going through PnR’s for Leslie and R. Oh well, I guess I forgot, but count me in as another recommendation. I LOVED that series!!

Tessa–I can’t believe you haven’t read the Lords of the Underworld series! It’s SO good!

Fabi January 15, 2017 at 10:24 PM

Georgina Kincade, that’s the succubus series right?

bev January 15, 2017 at 10:24 PM
Maryse January 15, 2017 at 10:26 PM

Er… beta?

What the heck is a beta?

*says the alpha-hero lover that can’t see past her alpha-loving nose*

Maryse January 15, 2017 at 10:28 PM

HEY bev!!!

Whatchu got against Henleys and jeans?

R. Renee January 15, 2017 at 10:30 PM

You may have Nay, I probably missed it.

Good try Maryse!! But I know you love many of the same books I do that don’t have alphas! You must, I get all my recs from you!

Jan January 15, 2017 at 10:38 PM

Thanks for the link, bev. Interesting article. Jasper Damerel from Venetia is another one of my favs. Can’t really remember Max from Faro’s Daughter. Maybe I need a reread ;)

Maryse we love our alphas and our special betas too. There’s a lot of love in our hearts to go around :D

Cheryl January 15, 2017 at 10:39 PM

Several to read this week: Egomaniac, Love in Lingerie,Finding Kyle- Yeh!!!! Rocked Up, APRIL?! :(

bev January 15, 2017 at 10:40 PM

Absolutely nothing.

Always makes me think of Tate Jackson.

Leslie M January 15, 2017 at 10:41 PM

I don’t the recall Georgina Kincaid being mentioned in our PNR discussion, but I have made note of it now, thanks!

Nay January 15, 2017 at 11:23 PM

Yeah, I think I thought about it and then forgot to actually type it! I’m glad Tessa DID mention it!

Nay January 15, 2017 at 11:27 PM

Oh, I know! I was going to ask if anyone had read the Succubus Diaries by Jill Myles, and then I was also going to mention Georgina Kincaid since she’s also a succubus, but then I thought the guys in the Succubus Diaries might be too alpha, so I just didn’t mention either series for some reason!

Tessa January 16, 2017 at 1:47 AM

I read Succubus Diaries! I kept meaning to get the Lord of the Underworld series, but at 7.99 I kept putting it off.

I love my alpha guys. Mason Kade, need I say more? He makes me swoon.
