Happy Friday and happy reading weekend. Another one to indulge in, and this Friday Finds list brings us so many AWESOME new releases (and the tried-and-true reader recommendations sound PERFECT for us!!)
<— In fact, I’m reading The Unremembered Girl: A Novel (that one there to the left). A psych-thriller (I think!!) but it almost seems like it might have an angsty love story developing, and I’m scared. Delightfully so!!! 😀 😉 I’m almost halfway in and loving it… and I have NO clue where it’s going, but I think it’s gonna be bad (in a good way).
But if that’s not what you’re looking for…
TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT WE FOUND !!
Darkest Temptation (The Dark Ones) by Rachel Van Dyken <— LIVE!!! RACHEL VAN DYKEN ALERT!!! A WOLF GRIEVING HIS MATE… AND THEN HE MEETS HER. A VAMPIRE. “...I crave things I have no business craving. And it is manifesting itself in a way I’m terrified I won’t be able to control any longer. Especially since she arrived. Vampire. Orphan. Beaten beyond recognition. My blood calls to her in a way that makes no sense. I’m a wolf. She’s a vampire. The two don’t mate...”
- Night Road by Kristin Hannah <— KRISTIN HANNAH ALERT!! Oh I WANNA READ IT and Megan recommends it!
Megan: I was looking through your reviews and was reading some of yours on books I have loved. I went to look for Night Road by Kristen Hannah, but didn’t see it. If you haven’t read it, you should. It is what got me back into reading about 12 years ago. I now read probably over 20 books a year, sometimes I read the same ones again. Night Road is one I ALWAYS go back to. If you’ve read it, I would like to see what you think about it.
The Other Brother by Meghan Quinn <— MEGHAN QUINN’S LATEST IS LIVE!! OH MY!!!!!!!!!!! This one sounds like all sorts of romance angst and love-triangley (and the blurb made me gasp in delight)!!
“I found a wonderful job, a quaint house to rent, my boyfriend was working on joining me in Binghamton, and my favorite pizza place was only miles away. Life was good. Until I met my neighbor. It’s been three years since I’d seen Aaron Walters, and my God is he all kinds of sexy gorgeous. Figures. He was supposed to be my forever, the man I grew old with, but he had different plans. How can a man who ripped my heart apart still trip me up? How can he make me still want him now more than ever? I’m tempted, I’m drawn toward him, I’m completely and utterly unaware that I’m dating his biological brother. Now two men own my heart. The question is, which brother will I choose?“
- Wait for It by Mariana Zapata <— MARIANA ZAPATA SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT!! SO MANY of our book crew LOVED this one, and it even made Jen cry when she was done (because she was so sad it was over):
Jen: I cried and cried when Wait for it was over! My husband said Jennifer !! Why would you read a book with a sad ending! I said it has a happy ending! I am just so sad it is over!! I feel like I know those characters! What a beautiful book. How can you fall in love with characters in a book?? She makes it so easy! Ahhhhh!!!
Jan: Wait For It seems to be similar in style to Kulti and Wow, although it’s a different kind of story from those two. The h is Diana Cassilis, best friend of Vanessa (from The Wall of Winnipeg and Me) and a relative (cousin maybe?) of Sal from Kulti. But it’s completely a standalone. You gradually get to know the great characters in the book as their stories unfold and relationships develop. Diana is just lovely, and she’s got a heckuva lot to deal with but she does it so well. And there are lots of funny, sweet moments.
I’m glued to this book and have dropped the other ones I was reading till I’m done with this one. So far I highly recommend it to anyone who liked Kulti or WoW or who appreciates slow burn and well-written characters with integrity.
Girl Crush by Stephie Walls <— RECENT ROMANTIC COMEDY RELEASE & Jean recommends this one!! “...After one of the nastiest divorces in history, followed by some of the crudest and raunchiest dates, I’d decided to bat for the other team. …At least I tried. But creating the next Brat Pack hadn’t been on the agenda. Neither had my date’s brother, Collier West. And I wasn’t prepared for finding true love at the end of my gal-pal tryst…“
Jean: I just have to mention and recommend Girl Crush by Stephie Walls again. If you are looking for something funny. I know Maryse and Amy will love all the references to Opi nail polish!!! …I loved! (Heroine is totally obsessed with OPI nail polish and she’s hysterical)! It had me cracking up! Light, funny, romantic comedy!
Amy: OPI references in Girl Crush? CLICK!!
Butterfly : A Public Enemy Standalone by Cambria Hebert <— LIVE!!! OH!! HE’S A POP STAR THAT RUINED HIS REPUTATION (I can’t help but envision a certain real-life one. 😉 LOL!!) … “…My poor conduct got me on the Celebs Behaving Badly list and ultimately ruined my career.
From the world’s number-one popstar to world’s most hated. That’s me. Ten Stark. Go underground, they said. Stay out of the spotlight. Most importantly, stay out of trouble. Everyone loves a good comeback story. For once, I listened. I met someone who didn’t know my name, my face, or the bad behavior that defined me. She taught me I wasn’t who everyone thought I was–everyone including me…”- Badd Luck (The Badd Brothers Book 5) by Jasinda Wilder <— LIVE!!! JASINDA WILDER ALERT!! “Two sets of gorgeous twins, a weekend alone together in a remote, picturesque, rural cabin with plenty of alcohol…what could possibly go wrong?” :D!!! *waggles eyebrows*
Ten Thousand Points of Light by Michelle Warren <— RECENT RELEASE & KRISTA IS FREAKING OUT AND SAYS GO. IN. BLIND!!!!! Oh those words are my “catnip”. I WANT IT!!!
Krista: OMG!YOU HAVE TO START THIS BOOK!!! The mystery is consuming me! I’m only half way and my mind is drafting to a millions thoughts of WHAT THE H*#L HAPPENED!!! She has amnesia because “something” happened – and you learn why she’s the way she is and what happened as she learns… and the Hero…. squeee! He’s a jerk, than a sweetheart, than an ass$&%#, than swoon-worthy, than…. you just have to read this book. I suggest to Go in Blind!! Avoid all spoilers!
Hot and Heavy (Chubby Girl Chronicles Book 2) by Tabatha Vargo <— LIVE!!! SHE’S OKAY WITH JUST A FLING… “...Matthew Ellis swears he will never get caught in the tangled web of a woman. After a devastating heartbreak, he’s determined to die a bachelor. When he meets Shannon, a chubby redhead with a firecracker personality, he decides to add her to his list of conquests. The good news is she’s okay with a hot and heavy fling. The bad news is, for the first time since he was a teenager, being caught doesn’t seem that unappealing...”
- Unexpected Claim by Alexa Riley <— LIVE!! ALEXA RILEY ALERT!! “Shep’s been totally okay with living his quiet life alone. But his best friend thinks it’s time he changed that. Being dragged into a club wasn’t his idea of fun, but one glance at the snowy angel and he’s done for...”
- My Week with the Bad Boy by Brooke Cumberland, Lyra Parish, Kennedy Fox <— LIVE!!! SHE WRITES ABOUT BAD BOYS LIKE HIM... “...Writing romance novels comes with its perks–traveling, meeting new people, creating characters from the voices in my head–but Ethan Rochester enters my life and rearranges all my preconceived notions about writing what inspires you. One week is all it took. One week to realize that not everything is as it seems. One week with the bad boy, and I wanted more.”
- Juniper Unraveling by Keri Lake <— KERI LAKE’S RECENT RELEASE FEEDBACK!!!! Jean LOVED IT!
Jean: Just have to say, I just read Juniper Unraveling and loved it!
The Fortunate Ones by R.S. Grey <— R.S. GREY’S LATEST IS LIVE! SHE BARTENDS AT A COUNTRY CLUB… and she has a crush on HIM. “...He’s my silver lining in a custom black suit. Besides being a legacy member at the club, he’s a tech mogul and Austin’s most eligible bachelor. Oh, and those dimples? Yeah, they make my stomach dip too. On good days, I catch his sleek Porsche winding down the tree-lined drive. On better days, I steal a glimpse of his handsome profile as we pass in the hall. And on the absolute best day, I find him alone at the bar, looking for company…”
- White Wolf (Sons of Rome Book 1) by Lauren Gilley <— FEEDBACK ON LAUREN GILLEY’S LATEST!! Jan is enjoying it!!
Jan: I’m currently 1/4 into Lauren Gilley’s White Wolf and I’m officially hooked. Really liking it! Vampires, werewolves…… action…. adventure…. woo hoo!
Thirty Day Boyfriend by Whitney G <— WHITNEY G’s LATEST IS LIVE!!! FAKE ENGAGEMENT ALERT! And it’s super-bargain priced!! “...Thirty days ago, my boss–Mr. Wolf of Wall Street, came to me with an offer I couldn’t refuse: Sign my name on the dotted line and pretend to be his fiancée for one month. If I agreed, he would let me out of my employment contract with a “very generous” severance package. The rules were pretty simple...”
- Marlowe’s Maverick (Bad Boys of Hockey Romance Trilogy Book 2) by Rachelle Vaughn <— LIVE!! HOCKEY PLAYER ALERT!!
- Hard to Find (Small Town Sexy) by Morgan Young <—- LIVE!!! SHE IS SO INTO HIM!! “...when Isaac, an incredibly sexy grad student, tosses out an unruly patron in her bar, Phoebe finds herself a bit distracted by his piercing blue eyes and bulging muscles. His shyness that doesn’t seem to extend into the bedroom…“
PAWN (Mr. Rook’s Island Book 2) by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff <— LIVE!!! MIMI JEAN PAMFILOFF ALERT!!! “From New York Times Bestseller, Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, Comes Part Two of Mr. Rook’s Island, a Sexy, Dark, Romantic Suspense.” <— I won’t read the blurb ’cause I think this one needs to be read in order… so… by the way:
- MR. ROOK (Mr. Rook’s Island Book 1) by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff <— MIMI JEAN PAMFILOFF SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT!!! This is the one to start with. 😀

Clutch by S.M. West <— LIVE!! ROCK STAR ALERT!! “…barely a day on the road, I almost crash and burn. Running into Silas Palmer, a sexy-as-sin rock star, changes my life. Silas makes me feel … Exceptional. Aimless. He’s always known his course. And even now, when he’s abandoning fame and fortune, he knows what he wants. Me. But life is never that simple…”

Just finishing up Hideaway which was epic!!!! Both Corrupt and Hideaway are MUST READS!!! Not sure what I’m reading next…. maybe one of my challenge books…..or maybe not.
A bit of a rough start, but listening to Urban Hymns on a rainy morning? Not a bad way to start to turn it around. Just need coffee to take it over the top.
What made it a rough start bev?
*hug*??
🙂
Grey!
Mafia and His Angel Part 1 by Lylah James.
Accidental Witness by Sam Morelli
American Queen by Sierra Simone
Kooloo -The Studying Hours, How to Date a Douchbag by Sara Ney
You know how hard it is to find a happy book for you that you haven’t already read? 😀
Sleeping in past alarm, lol.
bev… it’s because you need my super-awesome delicious coffee of magnificence. With peppermint mocha creamer in it. 😀
Ooooh, that sucks!
I was just looking at The Unremembered Girl, now I’m off to purchase!
YAY Stacey!!! I’ll be finishing it tonight or tomorrow. Can’t wait to see where it’s going.
I just one clicked Mariana Zapata’s “Wait For It”!!! 😀 Jan says it’s sort of tied to both Kulti AND WoW (how clever) although it reads as a standalone.
YAY ME!!! 😀
Thanks Tessa babe!
Maryse – you will LOVE Wait For It! I think I gushed over it for a week or two because it is a slow burn and reunion all in one! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVED it (5 loves instead of stars!!)
Oooooh bev… *cringes* I’ve done that before and it is the WORST feeling. 😕
And Kooloo read Badger?!? *huge comforting hugs* I freaking LOVED that book and it still makes my chest ache every time I think about it.
Maryse! I clicked The Unremembered Girl not long ago (I think it was on sale?) and I was wondering how it would be.
Keep us updated?
Absolutely Amy!!!!! I think I’m in for a shock. :D!!!
OMG WHERE TO START. MARYSE, YOU ARE KILLING ME!
So many good books Girl Crush, The other brother, Badd Luck.
My Tbr is out of control.
I’m actually reading A charm of Finches that I am really enjoying but I just need to either speed read or skip pages or something to get faster to reduce my Tbr.
And Grey read To Hate Thorn. I love that book. Great minds think alike Lesley.
My tbr is so out of control that it is giving me book anxiety. Yes, “book anxiety” is an actual diagnosis. I need meds and therapy.
Anyhoo, I am seriously considering deleting *GASP* some older books. No fainting ladies!! I know this sounds extreme, but think of how much our tastes have changed? Selections I chose 5 years ago are not necessarily same things I want to read now. Also lots of impluse one-clicks.
Instead of trimming my waistline (that is too hard), I am going to trim my tbr (she is just too chubby)! 🙂
I have thought about doing that so many times Leslie. There are a ton of books I downloaded years ago that I don’t think I’ll ever read now. But then the girls here talk about a possible apocalypse and not being able to get books and I get scared! Lol! But seriously, I think I need to do it.
Jean, I have the book apocalypse fear too! But I have hundreds of freebies I dl’d on Amazon over the years that are IN ADDITION to my tbr. Even if I lived to 100, I have way more books I could read in a lifetime. So it’s totally safe for me to trim my tbr. 😉
Good morning! I forced myself out of bed because I’m making Maryse’s pot roast today and it takes 8 hrs and I was already way behind because as it was it wouldn’t be ready until 8pm! 🙄
MATH. It’s not just for breakfast anymore.
Oooh yum! Dinner at R’s today!
That is so wild that you mentioned the old freebies. I deleted about 100 of them from my Amazon account earlier this week. As I went through them, I was thinking, “How desperate *was* I five years ago?”
I need a book secretary. Someone to purge and organize all my files.
I spent hours doing this one day and I don’t have a clue why. I still use GR to manage everything!
Leslie, you are right. I’m going to do it too. I have over 1700 books right now! I think it we’ll lessen the “book anxiety”!
Mmm…pot roast..my fav! What time is dinner R?
Well when using a calculator and not my brain, it appears dinner is at: 4:30!
OMG! Jean, seeing how many books you have inspired me to actually peek at my number. I have 5,411 ebooks. FIVE THOUSAND!! Truly, I have a problem! lol
Nay!!!! 5000?!?! Holy crap! Now I don’t feel so bad!
R, I made Maryse’s pot roast on Thursday and OMG it was as sooooooooooo good!! The pepperoncinis and juice gave the meat and veggies a bite which was so unexpected and DELICIOUS! And when I put it on the platter for serving with the carrots and potatoes surrounding it and the mushrooms and pepperoncinis over everything…gorgeous.
My kitchen smells sooo good! I never do the veggies in the pot because I like the burnt sugar crisp I get from the oven. I toss carrots and potatoes in olive oil with rosemary and garlic, roast them on a cookie sheet, then drizzle them with Sherry vinegar. It’s a little more work but OMG.
OMG, there is nothing like roasted veggies with lots of good spices. And roasted garlic spread on bread… *drool*
I wish I had a roast in my fridge!!!
Come over! I bought a huge one and it’s just the 2 of us!
Y’all remember the last time I said *I* was going to delete some books? I actually created a collection in my Kindle app called The Chopping Block. Then talk of the zombie apocalypse came up and I freaked out and deleted that collection.
Jeez Nay…I feel better now about the (*checks GR*) 3015 unread books I have in my Kindle and Nook libraries. 😛
I love roasting veggies with olive oil, salt and pepper. I usually toss together chopped carrots, Brussels sprouts, and a small mesh bag of potatoes I get from the commissary which has small Yukon gold, red, and purple potatoes (I slice the potatoes in half) then roast them, and at the end I throw in asparagus. All of the colors make it SO appealing.
But for this recipe I put them in the bottom of the slow cooker to cook in the broth and pepperoncini juice and WOW! Nummies.
And don’t forget, that doesn’t even count the 500-600 books I have at my house. I’m a book hoarder!
Okay, if there’s a zombie apocalypse then we all head to Nay’s house!!! I’ll pack my nail polish and hit up liquor stores on the way so we can drink and do manis and pedis. 😀
It’s a date! I’ll definitely supply the books. We’ll never run out!!
Amy–I love roasting the Yukon gold and also Brussels sprouts, but I’ve never put them together and I’ve never added carrots. That sounds awesome!
Oh, and I toss some garlic powder (or chopped garlic) and some balsamic vinegar in with the veggies. That extra acidity makes them delicious!!
It is delicious, Nay! The carrots add some veggie sweetness and the Brussels sprouts carmelize, and the purple and red potatoes add in their own unique flavors as well. Then there is the bright green of the asparagus which completes the color scheme.
Just be sure if you use purple potatoes to toss them separately from the other potatoes before adding them to the roasting pan or else the purple will get all over the other potatoes. It doesn’t look as pretty. 😕
I’m writing all of this on my grocery list right now!
I’m making this for supper tonight:
https://cookiesandcups.com/slow-cooker-crack-chicken/
Crack chicken…sounds fitting for this recipe. 😉
Oh, wow! Saving that recipe too!
It’s so weird that you mentioned shredded chicken because that’s what I’m cooking for my boys for lunch right now. But mine is the quick recipe–put chicken tenderloins in a skillet with olive oil, crushed garlic, cumin, salt, pepper and some salsa. Do a quick simmer and then shred it and roll it up with shredded jack cheese on warm flour tortillas. I make variations of this for them all the time. As long as spicy chicken, a good melty cheese and warm flour tortillas are involved, I’m good and they’re happy!
Maryse’s Book Blog – sharing book love, dirty jokes, recipes, and nail polish/makeup gluttony since…well, 2013 for me. 😉
Holy moly, Nay…I’m copying that down right now. YUM!
My addiction right now is Pinterest and the 30-45 second recipe videos which make the simplest of recipes look amazing!
I’m on FB doing the same thing! I was talking to a friend about Maryse’s roast and that led to Suanne’s pork butt and the smoked paprika BBQ sauce recipe I found. God I’m so hungry now!!!
I’m afraid if I got on Pinterest, I’d never get off. Especially if recipes were involved! But I’m going to check it out!
You can make that chicken buffalo, or Italian, or Greek, just however you want to switch up the spices/sauce/cheese. I usually cook mine pretty quick, so it’s not quite as tender as it could be, but you can usually cut through those tenderloins like butter. And I make sure not to overcook them.
Pinterest IS addictive, but I have found the best eye makeup, room decorating, and craft ideas as well as some amazing recipes.
It’s so worth the addiction. 😉
And speaking of makeup (well, I was *snort*)…look what I just ordered from Sephora!
https://www.sephora.com/product/just-peachy-velvet-matte-eye-shadow-palette-peaches-cream-collection-P422449?skuId=1961408&om_mmc=ppc-GG_381463959_27499886079_pla-78275908470_1961408_97594826799_9033304_t&country_switch=us&lang=en&gclid=EAIaIQobChMInoz08cml1wIV0Jd-Ch0PjQhaEAQYASABEgK63vD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
I also ordered this because it’s just too pretty to pass up:
https://www.sephora.com/product/modern-renaissance-eye-shadow-palette-P409118?icid2=similar%20products:p409118:product
And I finally gave in and bought the Naked heat palette because I have to have complete collections. 😳
2013!!!! Hey that was the year I switch from hard to eReading and never looked back…. I have 4 eReader apps on my devices lol
Soooo I started with iBooks but it became too slow with the 3,456 books on it – so then I switch to Marvin and it’s still working great with the 2,679 books… oh and then there’s my Kindle and Kobo……………
Huh I guess I have a problem too
Lol Kooloo!
Amy, that chicken crack looks awesome!
I love Pinterest!
I don’t want to count my books because I will do the math. Even at .99 that could be a thousand dollars. I have cut way way way down in buying and have noticed a difference.
I like oven roasted vegetables, but there is a taste the potatoes get when roasted with the meat. Yum. And they get that golden color.
Jean! It SMELLS awesome!! I can smell the ranch and even the cream cheese. Yummmmmmy.
bev…I avoid telling hubby how many books I have because HE will do the math. 😕
Kooloo…you’re in good company. Most of us here have that problem. *sigh*
You all, you see “never able to read them all” and I see, x books divided by y books read a year = amount of years I have books in case something happens.
Just bought a poppy. I haven’t seen these in years, made me so happy.
You know it never seems like people have a lot of free reading time during an apocalypse.
Just something reading has taught me.
All I’m saying is I’m never reading “Fifty Shades of Gary the Vampire” OR “Centaury Twilight”, no matter how desperate I am!
Hey, how many times have we talked about and planned for the apocalypse on here? Lol.
I’m pretty sure at one point we decided Amy would get bitten and turn into a zombie….
The f&%k I will.
LOL!
We know you’d be a badass.
Though with the hoard of makeup, alcohol, and books you’d be a very pretty and happy zombie with good stories to tell.
So, I’d be like R in Warm Bodies?
Not to be confused at all with our adorable-and-NOT-a-zombie R…
Grrr Argh…
I seriously didn’t think I would like that movie, but by the end I was swoony sighing and grinning like a loon. 🙄
Ha, you girls were talking about cooking… I went to a basketball game, then went out to dinner and ordered, … You guessed it… Pot roast, haha!
The apocalypse comes and I will be so sad… That I wouldn’t be able to talk to you guys anymore. No more talking about it.
“Grrr Argh…” <—— I see R's enjoying her pot roast. *slowly backs away*
Aw Grey, you would still be able to talk to us because we have already planned to all meet up if the apocalypse happens!!
We need Maryse to make a post with all of our zombie/apocalypse conversations so you can be in the know. Yoo-hoo, Maryyyyyyyyyyse…
Maryseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee that roast just changed my life, my marriage, and my world view.
YAY R!!!!!!!!!!!
I intended on freezing leftovers when I made it… but umm… there’s none left. *snort*
That’s right. We decided to go to Amy’s house because her husband has knives and such. We’ll hole up in her house and he can kill things for us. We can go elsewhere if needed, but as long as the men have machetes and other knives, This works!
Alright, UNREAD books, I’ve only got 1451 books!!! You realize that this means that I’ve got less than five years worth of books on my Kindle? 0.0
Is it sick that I probably read like 70% of those 6 thousand and some odd books…. maybe I actually need to get more so I don’t have to rereads during the Zomb/Apoc!
Oh I know I’ll just borrow Amy’s since she will be the first of us to turn!
Lurv u Amzzzz
Love her until she eats her brains.
I believe a B&N with an attached Starbucks was also mentioned.
Gahhhhhhh!!!! YOU guys I just finished a “Marmy” book called DROWNING INSTINCT
Amyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy you are absolutely right we HAVE to get EVERYONE to read this book like a NOW!
Oh piss off, all of you.
I’m not turning into a zombie. I’m fightin’ through that sh!t.
OMG I missed some book-crew fun last night, it seems!!!
I was telling myself only ONE MORE episode for “Mindhunter” last night. And then… I watched the entire season. 😉
Wait…holy moly…
MARYSE!!!!!!!!!!!
SOMEONE ELSE FINALLY READ DROWNING INSTINCT!!!!!!
*pours a healthy serving of wine for Kooloo and grabs Manny*
Don’t spoil anything but…the part with the coat and what he told her to do with it. GAH!!!! &$%#@!!! Message me on GR if you need to vent. 😉
Amy, you forget. We need you to live for it. While we are in B and N, your hubby’s outside killing things. If you die, we lose our protection. You think he’s gonna save us if she’s killed? Pfft!
THANK you, Tessa.
*smirks at everyone*
Side effects of wine with roast? I’m up having rioja by myself while all you crazies are asleep/
It’s only nine o’clock. Why would I be asleep? 😛 Though, instead of wine, I had just plain grapes. Not as good as earlier in the season, but still yummy.
Pfft…we’re all up and kickin’ here on the West coast. *nods to Tessa*
But where’s bev? She should be awake right now…
I just mixed some riesling with some blueberry wine and ohhhhhhh man, I’m gonna be feeling no pain soon. 😉 Sounds weird but the winery recommended it and it WORKS.
OMG Amy! That sounds yummy!
The grapes I’m having are sooooo good. 😀
I ate my “leftovers” last night, but my husband’s are calling to me. I’m trying to decide if it’s worth the risk.
It’s worth it. Men are hunter-gatherers. Let him hunt and gather his own food.
I snuck a little and made tacos. I didn’t think he’d notice but the kitchen smells amazing again and I got busted. I take full responsibility.
OMG Amy “hunters and gathers” *shakes head* LMAO
I ended up just reading last night. 🙂 I saw this book last night, it sounded dark, and I think it will be or is… It’s like there are HUGE hints of how things could go wrong, but it hasn’t. He’s bossy (Which makes me grin like this 😀 😀 ) and over-protective, but if it ended right now, I’d say it’s super sweet. I’m seriously enjoying it, but I’m halfway and I’m still waiting for the dark.
I need someone to just tell me what to read next!! There’s too many choices. I want another doozy just like the feeling Drive gave me.
Kandace, here’s my top ten shelf and 5.5 star shelf. I only tend to LOVE books with feels like that.I know you’ve read many of these but maybe there’s something you haven’t?

Kandace…it might not give you the same sort of feels, but if you want crazy angst and situations that will infuriate you and make you want to throw your Kindle then try Therapy by Kathryn Perez. I seriously just about lost my sh!t with that one. 😉
Kandace, R. has some great ones on those lists. (she stole all my suggestions!)
You know what gave me MAJOR angst and tons of feels? The Ground Rules. I loved that series. It’s not for everyone, but since you mentioned Drive, the h is in love with two men in this one too.
What types of books do you like or are in the mood for?
What do you mean bev? I’d say, pretty much everything we’ve been reading… probably the angstier ones come my way, because everyone knows I’m a sucker for the difficult ones. 🙂
LOL!!
Right now, I’m always in the mood for terrifying/jaw-dropping/mind-twisters with good shock value, but not too over-the-top. Psych thrillers do it for me, but I’ve hit a few recently that were just okay, and not so scary, or clever. I kind of like the stalker books, too. The ones where you know someone is always watching but that puts my nerves on edge. Maybe even becomes the “relationship” but without knowing…
I’m also always in the mood for a realistic love story (not necessarily romance – although I love that too). Something like Drive, or something that has us riding it out for awhile before the two give in. I am attracted to TRUE “not friends” and even can’t stand each other (truly – not because they are denying themselves) kind of starts. REAL ones though… that play out properly and IF the two get together, it makes sense, or is because of an event that has them bonding.
And I’m still on the look out for a horror book that I can’t put down, and that might even make me sleep with the lights on.
Maryse what books do you get rec’d the most?
Kandace–the first book that comes to mind for me is A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner. It’s another where bad timing of a long-term relationship comes into play with super high angst.
I was curious if certain titles pop up again and again.
I haven’t read a lot of twisty books lately. Am really considering re reading Rebecca, but I think it is more atmospheric gothic than thriller. There was one horror I was curious about that I saw around the same time as Bird Box but haven’t taken the plunge. I’m trying to remember the title.
One psychological I’m interested in is The Woman in Cabin 10.
Ohhhhhhhh Maryyyyyssssssseeeeeee… I’ve got your next twisty thriller right here….
