HAPPY FRIDAY!!!! 😀 Time for a full weekend of indulging myself in a book, and I’m still trying to decide on what’s next for me. I have that forbidden-love trilogy that I want to finish now that it’s complete (Something in the Way), but I have two psych-thrillers that are calling my name too. Plus, “Cuffed” down there is tempting me big time, and I can’t get it out of my head. And then “Forever Right Now” by one of my favorite authors has made many in our book-crew crazy in love with it, so how can I possibly resist starting it, next?

R: Forever Right Now is a must read. If it weren’t for my RUSH bias I’d say hands down it’s my favorite.

Books like this are why I read!! *basks in the happy after glow of a great romance* …This is my happy place. No boring starts, no not getting what is going on, immediate connection to story…pure CR bliss.

I finished F*ck Love yesterday and I really liked it, 4****. Its not my usual type thing but something about Helena pulled me in and I enjoyed her “voice”. What I didnt get was Muslim character…he was freaky.

R, I haven’t read those. I did read Pure Abandon and I didnt love it. Its been too long now to remember why. I shied away from Wild abandon or Wrecked because I thought they were part of that series. However, I don’t like to judge an author’s work by just one story. If you think I might like one of those, I think I might give it a try. I’m going to go read some blurbs and reviews and see what I think.

Maryse I just finished Book 3 (American King) of Sierra Simone’s New Camelot Trilogy. I had to do a re-read of the first 2 books as I didn’t remember all the juicy scandals and the “holy shit no way’s” and “oh no she didn’t” and WTFs and soooooo glad I did!
The sexy times in this series are SCORCHING! MAN that woman can write! I mean some of those recollection scenes flowed like poetry – you could really feel the lust, fears and vulnerability of the strong, well-defined characters and that gets me every time!
The Trilogy combines both Past & Present, Power & Humility and Love & Sacrifice. It’s a story that should not be missed!

So I just finished a 5 Star read entitled CUFFED by K Bromberg and struggled with my rating until I found out it is based on real life events that involved the author – there are of course triggers which made even more relent knowing it actually happened. But it also made me lol and swoon… loved it xoxo

I got up at the crack of dawn to watch the Browns game on the patio and it was FREEZING! We had t start a fire. Now it’s in the 70s and I’m burning up!
Alright, share the recipe so WE TOO CAN BE THE BEST COOKS IN THE WORLD!

Okay so this is a mix of about 5 different recipes (’cause I don’t use butter, and I DO use the whole jar of pepperoncinis). Some recipes say only half, some recipes say the whole jar – I’m an “all in” type. 😉
But here’s how I make it:
Okay a 2-3 lb chuck roast
2 or 3 large carrots peeled and cut into chunks
5 or 6 red potatoes (small-medium – whole I don’t cut them)
2 stalks of celery
a whole thingie of fresh sliced mushrooms
a half cup of beef stock (or you can use an au jus packet)
a packet of ranch dressing powder
a whole jar of pepperoncini (juice and all) – trust me. Even the Pioneer woman says throw it all in. It cuts the gaminess of the meat, and the meat cuts the acidity of the whole jar. It just… evens out.
Official recipes use a whole stick of butter (I don’t, but I bet it’s awesome – I find the meat fatty enough as it is)
Throw the WHOLE lot into the crock pot (I put the veggies on the bottom and rest the meat on top of it all and then the mushrooms and the pepperoncinis on top, and sprinkle the ranch dressing all over it)
6-8 hours on low (I tend to find it ready at 6.5 to 7 hrs)

Okay, I’m making that this week. Probably…Tuesday. I have a long shift that day. 😕 And I will try it with the ranch because I’ll try anything once to see if I’ll like it! And yesssssss, a WHOLE jar of pepperoncinis because YUM!! Love ’em. In sandwiches (especially toasted roast beef melts *drooooool*), salads, dishes, whatever.

My go-to marinade for chicken breasts uses ranch dressing packets. Two packets, 4 TBS oil, 2 TBS red wine vinegar for 4 breasts. Yumm and easy.

I can’t even picture pepperoncinis? LOL But the pot roast sounds YUM! I made a delish one a couple weeks ago too. This was with 2 T of Lawry’s garlic salt, 2 packets of dried onion soup mix, a can of mushrooms and a 20 ounce bottle of cherry coke. I know, sounds weird, right? it was SOOO good though. Then serve over either smashed potatoes or egg noodles. nom nom nom.

I’m very resistant to learning Football. In spite of myself, I know it. I grew up in a very sport-centric house. I always liked playing but HATED watching. Being a girl also meant no football camp things. I’m not complaining though because I had SO MANY OTHER lessons instead. 🙂 That said, I’m in Santa Clara, so of course I know how badly the Niners are doing. They are tied with the Browns.
I am NOT a sports fan! Which is sacrilege out here as Boston fans are very passionate. I think my issue is hubs lives, breathes and sleeps football and is season ticket holder. *gags* My house has football memorabilia all over it and an entire room dedicated to the Pats. *double gag*
I used to hate it but my dad loved it. When he’d drive me to and from college it would be on the radio and he’d explain it to me. It took years before I’d actually like it, but now I do. I love it, actually. I wish I could watch it with him.
