HAPPY FRIDAY & HAPPY READING WEEKEND!! There’s a bit of a Vegas theme going on, on today’s Friday List.
I still haven’t chosen my weekend read (have you?), but since I’ve been on a great romance streak lately, I think I’m going to switch it up for the weekend. Maybe that psych-thriller down below. Or maybe Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King since that’s all the rage right now with the new TV series. Or maybe Steadfast by Sarina Bowen (also down below).
My heart needs something gritty but sweet, and that sounds like exactly it. 😉 Hmmm… decisions, decisions.
Take a look at what we found for the weekend!!

After a three year absence, the man who killed her brother and broke her heart is suddenly everywhere she turns. It’s hard not to stare at how much he’s changed. Morning
Morning oops Friday evening here 9pm.
Maryse, what are you reading? I’m reading Atheist book and it’s killing me. Quite understand why Amy’s blood pressure went up.
Morning! TGIF
*Whispers Happy Friday everyone while crawling slowly toward the Keurig machine*
Happy Friday!!! I had a full night’s sleep, so I’m all full of pep today! 😀
Morning! I think I might start some of my challenge books. Sins of Sevin by Penelope Ward or Forget by N.A. Alcorn. I am on vacation so I haven’t had much free time.
Good morning!! I think I Do(n’t) is exactly what I want right now!!*tee-hee*
Think I’ll save Atheists for when I’m home and can cry in private. Better to be laughing in my daughter’s hospital room then crying. 😉
Amy I said this in a previous post but, I have read all of TF’s previous books, that’s why I’m apprehensive about reading Atheists- her books f*ck with you and there are no guaranteed HEA’s. Have to be in the right frame of mind to read her books and right now I want to laugh, not cry.
Cheryl, is your daughter doing better?
Definitely would need the right book for waiting in the hospital.
*stares at Roughing’s cover* *blinks* His body looks wrong. Though, I’ll still get it. It sounds like a guy who was a bully, and he plays football. Just… *looks at his side* Did someone gouge out a chunk of his flesh?
GREY! GREY! You see! Dominic is a bully book. I’m not the only one who thinks so.
Starting the Roanoke Girls.
This is in the prologue. The narrator is a child and wants to tell her mother about the dream she had of her mother’s childhood home, Roanoke. Her mom stops her as soon as the home is mentioned.
Dun dun dun.
“You didn’t even let me tell you,” I whined.
“Did you wake up screaming?”
A dribble of milk ran down my chin, “Huh?”
She turned and glanced at me then, her skin pale, eyes red rimmed. The bones of her face looked sharp enough to cut. “Was it a nightmare?”
I shook my head, confused and a little scared. “No.”
She looked back out the window. “Then it was nothing like that.”
Oooh. Sounds gripping, bev. Tessa IKWYM with Roughing’s cover. Weird. But what about Absinthe’s cover? Do you think he’s wearing a little *extra padding* in the pants department? I mean, come on……..
*stares at the cover* I think those are baseball pants that um… Don’t fit right? Maybe?
Though, reading that blurb, I want to read that too!
Is he wearing those loose pajama bottoms at the stadium? That’s a stadium back there, right?
‘Baseball’ pants? Uh huh.
Jan – “extra padding” – LOL – it looks like a mango – just not right!
Oh wow…I forgot about Dominic. I read that a long time ago. Tessa, he has ink – is that the chunk you are referring to?
I meant Absinthe. Look at the full size cover pic on amazon and tell me that’s ‘all him’ *ahem*
A mango? *chokes* bwahahaha
Geez Tessa, I thought you were talking about Dominic’s cover. Absinthe’ s cover…ummm, yeah…hummm.
*holds stomach in pain from laughing so hard*
Mango?????
It sure doesn’t look like a *bleep*
You guy’s are cracking me up with the covers. The one guy looks anorexic the way he is turned and the other guy’s “girth” is um just not right. hahaha
Bev, my daugher is doing great. Just a slow process from non-weight bearing in casts to now weight bearing. She will be in the hospital until the 22nd getting intensive therapy. Thanks for asking. 🙂
It looks like baseball pants because he’s oddly shaped! It’s like some weird inner padding that just is so deformed and bulky, it protects what’s underneath.
It’s meant be sexy, and I know it’s so wrong but it kinda reminds me of incontinence pants. I know, I know. Sorry to anyone that was about to read Absinthe. Just put that picture right out of your head now.
Not that I would know what incontinence pants look like, of course. But, I IMAGINE that’s what they look like….. ;D
*snort*
😛
I missed all the fun. 😉
I cannot stop giggling over the Absinthe comments.
Mango, girth, padding, incontinence pants….
Seriously though, what is up with that?? Its just not right and it’s freaking me out.
Roughing cover also weird. These are supposed to be sexy, what the heck???
I just finished When Life Happens by Jewel E. Ann. I didn’t read your review before I started and finished the book. I think my gasp at the turn in the book could have been heard by my whole neighborhood! I seriously had to read my kindle at least 5 times to make sure what I thought I read was true. I agree, a book from Levi’s point of view would be great to read!!
OK. This time, I really am schlepping up to the table smelling like day-old booze… Oy. Can someone pass me some Advil…or a bit of the mess that made me feel like this? My class reunion bar mixer was last night. *blink, blink*
Dang… I’m a lightweight…
Anyway… So there are new bully books that I need to be aware of? Someone remind me tomorrow 😆
Tequila. Maybe we need that.
Except for Grey. But then again… that old “hair of the dog” thing.
Hrmmm… I need to look that up. How in the heck did a dog hair = hangover aid?
Happy Saturday everyone.
Happy Saturday bev!!!
I need snuggles and hugs. I think we all do. <3
Oh my goodness! I’m laughing so hard at all of these comments, I didn’t even notice anything when I looked at the Absinthe cover the first time – now it’s all I can see!
I read I Do(n’t) and LOVED it!!! Really fun read with lots (and lots) of chemistry.
Uh… that cover. Huh. that’s an odd jock strap to be sure. Nice cup, buddy. 😆 Man, the convos around here… *giggle*
Yeah, no hair of the dog here… I’m too old for that stuff. I was too old for that stuff in high school, haha! It didn’t stop me then, it does now, however!
*snuggles for Maryse* Everything ok, friend?
I too, have already read I Do(n’t) I actually read that one, way back when when the author was getting ready to submit it to the editor, as a set of proofing eyes. She’d asked me just to read the first 5 chapters, just to make sure it was suitable for submission… I read the whole book that night, LOL! I enjoyed it.
I’m finishing a 3rd read through today, then I have another read and review to do, then hopefully I will get to a bully… *giggle* I am in need of a bully. Top 3 of the best would be helpful, everyone, LOL!
Dominic is a bully book Grey! You must read it because of that alone.
Visiting family for the weekend. Right now I’m just zoning as I watch my nephew play Zelda. The douchbag next book reveal makes me happy. So many good books are coming out that day. 🙂
