First… HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELA!!!!!! She’s one of our long-time book-crew members, she’s hilarious, and loves to “cap-lock-scream” at us when she’s excited about a book. I LOVE THAT about her.
Also… MY FRIDGE IS COMING TODAY!! I’m excited. π Finally, I can go grocery shopping again. I’ve been surviving on mini-meals and stuff I can grab quick and not have to keep for later. It’s incredible how much we can take our appliances for granted until we lose one. Yikes!!
ANNNNND: bev has a buddy-read request, and both sound perfect! I actually already have the first book she suggests! π She asks:
bev: Hey, we should all read the The Ghost BrideΒ for a Valentines buddy read. Netflix is adapting it soon. Or The Sun Is Also a Star. Itβs being adapted soon too.
Anyone want to?

Danielle: I read Boys of Brayshaw High by Meagan Brandy last week and am going to reread it again because I haven’t been able to get it out of my head, and no other book has been able to live up to it since. If you haven’t read it yet put it on your radar. I’m a sucker for bully books!
Chelli: Hope all is well with you donβt know if this book has come up in your radar but Boys of Brayshaw is oh soooo good. Iβm a die hard Fallen Crest High fan and this book has a similar feel to it!!! Canβt wait for the next one to come out
Jenn:Β I am reading βBoys of Brayshaw Highβ I was hooked just in the first few chapters.
Tessa:Β Boys of Brayshaw High, hands down. Everything I want in a book, right there.Β Β

Kathy P: For those of us, cough, cough over the age of 40, I have really enjoyed the latest books by L.B. Dunbar. She has heroines and heroes over the age of 40 in second chance romances.

It has been years since a book gave me all the feels that this one did and these words still feel inadequate to describe this bookβ¦..so Ill just say thisβ¦..This book sneaks its way into your soul, grabs a hold, rips it out, and doesnt let go. I can tell it is one of those books that stays with you literally FOREVER.

I don’t. Sure, I have a checklist for my ideal man who I write in my books. I just haven’t found “the one” in the real world.Β Todd Chimolski may not check all the boxes on my current list, but there’s something to be said for a friend who makes you laugh and puts on a suit to make all your fantasies come true. - The Pickup (Imperfect Love Book 1)Β by Nikki Ash
Free (Chaos Series Book 7)Β by Kristen Ashley <— RECENTLY RELEASED and we have feedback!Β Northernstar loved it! JulieO suspects possibly a spin-off series? π
Northernstar: Kristen Ashleyβs Free was an emotional read for me because I loved all her Chaos series so much. I agree with the other posts that there was a lot going on in this book and the story packed a lot in. I missed the usual depth of the other books, but she did tie up a lot of loose ends. Known for her epilogues, KA didnβt disappoint and it was a beautiful ending. While I am sad to say goodbye to the chaos family it was a great ride (pun intended).
JulieO: I finished FREE last night. Was good, I always enjoy K.A. books, some more than others. I got confused quite a bit. Too many characters and dual names because of MC names. Felt like she was trying to pack too much into this last book and set up a few characters for a new series? Any thoughts on this anyone? I do have to say that KA does the best epilogues though.
More Than Enough (Reckless Heat) (Reckless Falls Book 3)Β by Theresa Leigh <— SHE’S IN LOVE WITH BOTH OF HER BROTHER’S BEST FRIENDS & IT. SOUNDS. STEEEEEEEEEEAAAAMYYYY!!! “…I didnβt mean to kiss Cal while Gray was watching. And I didnβt mean to kiss Gray in front of Cal. And what happens after that? All three of us claim it was a fluke. A one-time mistake. Something totally crazy that can never happen again.Β Then it happens again.Β And again.Β Now Iβm falling for two men...”
- The Elements Series Complete Box SetΒ by Brittainy Cherry <— KATHY FOUND US THIS BRITTAINY CHERRY SERIES BUNDLE!!

Bad MommyΒ by Tarryn Fisher <—Β Jenn is listening to this one!
Jenn:Β Β …I am being creeped out by βBad Mommyβ as I am listening to it on audio and itβs so unlike me to listen to this type of book vs reading it but it actually is really working for me. …I am LOVING it.

Happy happy Friday!
And happy happy Birthday, Ela!! (sorry it’s a day late–I didn’t get on the internet yesterday) Hope your birthday way great!!!
Maryse—it’s so exciting to get new appliances! And you’re right about taking them for granted. When our microwave died and we had to wait until hubs got paid to get a new one, I was re-heating my coffee in a pot on the stove and it was such a pain!
But, wow! A fridge is a huge deal, so I’m sure you’re thrilled it’s arriving today.
Happy Friday! *glitter bomb* So excited to not have stupid alarm clock waking me up tomorrow morning.
My KU deal is almost up so I’ve been trying to take advantage of as many books as I can. I am starting Drawn into Love by Aurora Rose Reynolds. This one is a “read and listen for free” but when I tried it it last week it was saying I had to pay for audio! But now it is working so…yay!
Happy belated birthday, Ela! *Glitter and confetti cannon!* Hope you celebrated in style!!
Short break for me, finished my first read, gah, so much love!!! *Tosses more glitter*
Maryse, woot woot for the new fridge today, that’s exciting. We got a new fridge a couple of years ago. I absolutely despise it. Hate it. Ugh. Lol!
LOL Grey!! Why do you hate it? I must know…
I didn’t hate my original one, until it went out on me and I read all the bad reviews about that darn compressor. π
I would have NEVER changed it, if I didn’t have to.
YAY that it’s working now, Leslie M. I just renewed my Kindle Unlimited when it was on sale a month ago.
Nay… I might post a picture of it. LOL!!! I’m nervous. I love that it’s fingerprint-resistant SO MUCH.
I almost didn’t go with Stainless steel again ’cause of that issue.
Bad sleep and scary dreams.
But it is friday. Plus, maybe some Snow!
I’ll need to buy a new fridge soon. Really already should of. Plus, been thinking new phone. *sigh* this was to be my savings year.
Happy Friday and happy belated birthday, Ela! And yay to a new fridge! Growing up in the winter my parents always stored extra stuff in the garage (since itβs actually colder than the fridge!). They have 3 full size fridges and a chest freezer now though….and yet I still think they put some random stuff outside.
Iβve been doing a lot of reading lately A LOT. The weather has been bad this winter. Lots of ice and snow. We had a big storm, then the polar vortex (they cancelled mail delivery for 2 days and pulled us in by a certain time a couple days so clean up was crazy – luckily Iβm amazing and got my route done each day – okay, I actually just ran my butt off. Iβm all, βNo time to talk!!!!!!β as my blur passes your house.) But the people on my route are amazing some make paths through their yards so I donβt have to go around and a bunch have given me hot chocolate.
They probably really appreciated you Ashley.
Hey, we should all read the Ghost Bride for a Galentines buddy read. Netflix is adapting it soon. Or The Sun is Also a Star. It’s being adapted soon too.
Anyone want to?
*giggles at bev’s “Galentine”* π
Maryse, one of the shelves on the door broke and the fridge itself is so loud…and the ice maker in the door jams all the time. Yes, me and this fridge are *not* friends. LOL. I know, first world problems, right?
(I put this in my post but maybe I deleted it somehow before I hit submit…..)
Iβve read a lot of good books lately! I just keep forgetting to post about them. I read a whole bunch by Odette Stone and LOVED them, especially her hockey ones Puck Me Secretly and Home Game. River Wild by Samantha Towle was excellent. Tangled Like Us by Becca and Krista Richie was amazing and I canβt wait for the next book in the series. I started On His Terms late at night and I couldnβt stop reading I had to make myself go to bed. So right after I finished it I read On Her Terms. Buried by Brenda Rothert also kept me up late at night. And finally Fix It Up by Jessica Gadziala was super cute and fun!
AND I donβt know how, but one morning before work I was checking to see what new audiobooks came out and the new Penelope Ward book was out so I checked to see if the kindle book was out, it wasnβt so I bought the audiobook and listened to it – it was amazing, the chemistry in her books is unparalleled. So later I went to see what other books came out and the Penelope Ward book was no longer available itβs up for preorder! So I feel like I got away with something.
Bev, they do. I get so many people who say βThank you for all that you do. Especially in this cold weather.β Itβs nice. For the most part everyone on my route is really great. And they know when Iβm gone and let me know the next day that I wasnβt there.
THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!! Went to Lens Crafters and was asked how old I was (even though the chick had by DOB in front of her) and when I told her she just COULDN’T BELIEVE IT! What was funny was her comment: “I hope I look as good when I’m that age…”
Ela!! That’s always fun to hear!! π
Ela, I hope that made your day just a little brighter! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
Bev, I’d consider a BR of the Ghost Bride because it’s always intrigued me. I’m not sure if I can do it so soon though…I’ve got a plethora of library books that I need to read before they expire over the next 11 days. Yes, I am at the mercy of the “library” right now…I’m kind of the library’s b*&%h.
Ashley, you made me laugh, I just took two weeks off and my postal customers informed me that I can no longer take vacations. It feels good when they appreciate you.
Ooh some of the reader recs are on KU! Sweet. I’m going to check out Odette Stone and also LB Dunbar. Thanks ladies! π
Hope you lerve your new frig, Maryse. (Oops, seriously, autocorrect changed that to new FROG!).
Alright, Iβve finished Balance by Lucia Franco. I started it a long time ago and decided to pick it back up. I canβt like Kova. Nope, nope, nope. I see zero redeeming qualities. For sooo many reasons too. I donβt even know if I wanna jump into book 2. There are only 2, right? Because I donβt much like Adrianna either. But, I still kind of want to know what happens next. *grumbles*
Omg I just finished Boys of Brayshaw High!! So good total Fallen Crest & Elite series feel. Such a cliffy can wait for the next one!!! I want it now!!!
Jan – I started with My FiancΓ©βs Brother by Odette Stone and I just flew through all of her books. But the blurb for Puck Me Secretly made me want to read it immediately once I saw it – actually I donβt even think I got through the whole blurb before I said βYep!β. I didnβt like My Donut Princess but it got great reviews so it might just be me.
Tasha – Oh man, Iβve had Balance in my library for a while. I keep hearing mixed reviews on it. One day.
Sandi – My customers let me know if Iβve been gone one day! And we get a day off during the week. Then theyβll tell me, βThat other lady doesnβt talk much.β If itβs someone random doing my route that person will get asked βWhere is Ashley? Is she ok? Is she on vacation?β But yes, Iβve also been told Iβm not allowed to go on vacation. Lol!
Good Morning-
I finished “Bad Mommy’-I Can Be A Better You! All I have to say besides it was 5 stars for me….the last statement in the book was so “chilling” I seriously would love to hang out with TR and drink wine…on second thought it would probably need to be whiskey…… π
damn keyboard (fat fingers) I obviously meant *TF*
Just finished Overnight Sensation by Sarina Bowen. I love her Brooklyn Bruisers Series. Being from Canada we take our hockey very seriously
I need to read through all these books recs (because I NEED to add some books to my tbr! lol)
But for now, I’m just popping in with a couple of deals. Tessa mentioned that one of the Hades Hangmen books was $0.99, and when I went to check it out, I noticed that books 1-6 are ALL on sale for $0.99 each!
Also, Attachments by Rainbow Rowell is on sale for $1.99! That’s an older one, but I noticed that a lot of the girls had it on their GR tbr.
Ugh…I donβt know why only half my posts are showing up. I really do use full sentences.
Northernstar–I need to read that series. And I know what you mean about taking hockey seriously–I’m in Nashville, and we love our Preds! Ever since I broke my leg in December, hubs have been so distraught that we haven’t been able to go to any more games!
And one more fridge comment–I think it’s so funny that we’ve had such great conversation about fridges. It really shows where we are in our lives!
Hubs and I hate ours as well. We swore we’d never get another side-by-side before we moved into our current house, but the others were way too expensive, so we just got a bigger side-by-side, hoping that would make up the lack of space. And we’ve regretted it the entire time. It’s just impossible to fit everything in it. Especially now that I’ve constantly got 5 gallons of various milks in it with boys who drink us out of house and home!
We have two fridges, one is in the garage because I keep buying stuff at Costco and then need extra space to keep it….LOL
Nay – I really enjoyed all the Brooklyn Bruisers books and this last one had a real quirky h that had me chuckling out loud a few times.
It was definitely a no for me, Ashley. I know a lot of others here recommend it though, so you may enjoy it. I decided not to read book 2. I was too annoyed/disgusted/ angry with book 1 that I didnβt wanna invest further time into it.
Ashley, I think we spoil them. I donβt know how you deliver in a cold climate though, for us, itβs the summers that are brutal.
On Netflix Romance is a Bonus Book is so (insert expletive ) charming.
Sandi, I always tell people itβs just one foot in front of the other. Itβs not the cold that bothers me; itβs the snow and ice. I get SO tired in the winter from trudging through it. And then I eat like a bear. Summers are usually nice because itβs less physically demanding BUT when the humidity kicks in then it takes it out of you – this last one was brutal for us.
I liked Overnight Sensation too. I liked the previous one, Brooklynaire, as well. Better than your run-of-the-mill billionaire book, and there’s hockey too! I haven’t read all of this series yet but will work my way through them. I recently finished and liked Sarina Bowen’s True North series, though only one of them is about a hockey player LOL.
Ashley thanks for the tips about Odette Stone. I plan to try soon.
Nay, I feel your pain. When I had 3 teen boys at home, no frig was big enough! The classic after school scenario was one of the boys standing with the frig door open saying ‘There’s nothing to eat!’. Sound familiar??
Good morning! It’s cold & rainy here in Texas, but perfect reading weather. I’m finally reading The Simple Wild. It was on too many lists to ignore.
I’m going to pick up that Amy Harmon book from this list. I like everything she writes. But I’m feeling the need for some fantasy. Urban Fantasy or Epic Fantasy. I don’t care. Just need the escape.
So…I just got the okay. Pen Douglas hit the publish button! It could take a while, but Kill Switch will be live sometime soon…take all precautions, it is dark and…freaking amazing!
MichelleS, does it need to be a completed series?
And it’s live…happy reading!
Tessa – no… a new to me series is all I’m looking for. I’m willing to wait for the likes of Maas, for example, or Briggs.
Air Awakens is a KU series, and is up to book 3 (so far) really good.
Leia Stone’s Fallen Academy is really good. I’m dying for book 4. I got 3.5 but it’s from his POV during a period of time.
Changeling Exile by Marina Finlayson – I’m waiting on book 3 but great fairy storytelling.
Those are a start and the books are ones I remember the story really well.
Tessa – squee!!! Yay! Going to download samples!!! Thank you.
They’re all KU…. score!
π Oh, yeah. I usually try to get KU because of the price. π And I made sure not to mention any reverse harems.
This show is my crack right now.
Friends to lovers?
Over 30 heroine starting over.

Fun bright fashion
Great modern set design
Charm, charm, charm
What show is this, bev? (Did I miss something?)
Jan it is Romance is a Bonus Book on Netflix. Each ep gets better.
It’s just giving me a little bit of happiness right now. Like when you like a book and can’t wait to get to each chapter.
Loved the Odette Stone Hockey books! Thanks Ashley! You ladies that enjoy Fallen Crest and the The Boys of Bradshaw High must read Binding 13!!! Itβs impossible to put down once you start!
Thanks bev. I’ll check it out. Could be right up my alley.
Christine, I’ve started Puck Me Secretly and enjoying so far (despite the silly book title LOL). I really liked Binding 13 too.
I STILL need to read Binding 13. It’s just so freaking long! And I don’t mean it bothers me to read a book that’s that long–I love it. I always wanted KA’s books to be a long as possible. It’s finding the constant time to do it.
Jan–that sounds SO familiar! Our fridge and pantry and cabinets can be bulging with food and they still stand there as if something new and exciting is going to magically appear in front of them.
Nay I’m right there with you on the long books that are awesome. I WANT to read them. Timewise though… *sigh*
If you do let me know what you think.
I still stand in front of my fridge like something will just appear, lol. Especially if I haven’t done any shopping.
boiled salt and vinegar eggs bev? I like those at 1am. π
bev I watched the first ep this afternoon, and it’s quite sweet. I could see myself getting hooked. I’ve never watched k-drama before, although this one’s more k-dramedy. Great production values. The H isn’t quite alpha enough like the H’s I usually prefer, but still, the show looks pretty cute and interesting.
Boiled salt and vinegar eggs Maryse???? Haven’t tried those. I love salt and vinegar potato chips, but eggs???? Intriguing.
Oh I missed this comment Jan!
YES!!! It’s like making “pickled” eggs essentially. Maybe you don’t have those where you are? If you like sour & vinegar and like boiled eggs, these will rock your world. Sometimes I put my boiled eggs in left over pickle juice, and in 3 days they take on that yellow-pickle juice color and taste delicious!!!
I love salt and vinegar, but not boiled eggs so much. Unless they are in something. Love them in salads… except egg salad.
Ah, I’m glad you tried it. The tone brightens up more too as Dan-yi’s situation changes.
I think with rom coms I dont notice alpha vs beta as much. I adored old Carey Grant and the Hugh Grant ones. I loved the charm and banter. Though always loved a good alpha.
