  • Late Night Kisses by Whitney G <— WHITNEY G’S LATEST IS LIVE!!! She had the worst first date with the cockiest, rudest guy…Days after I abandoned him on our first date, he tracked me down with one hell of a way to get me to agree to a second one. • Kandace and the Beast by Shay Savage <— SHAY SAVAGE wrote this book years ago for… and about one of our best book friends, Kandace (who has cancer and is very ill right now) and has donated all of the money from the sales of it, to Kandace and her family (husband and three children). We’re giving an extra push for it this week to raise more money for her family and here’s another way you can donate (thank you Heather!!)
Shay Savage: A lot of people have reached out to me this week asking about Kandace and the Beast. Yes, the proceeds have always gone to her and her family, and will continue to do so.
  • Diced: A New Year’s Romance by  Ginger Scott <— LIVE!!! GINGER SCOTT CHRISTMAS SURPRISE SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE ALERT! ➔ ”… One perfect dinner service at the hottest new hotel in Vegas means landing her own restaurant. Kim L: OMG I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series, I <3 Reyes!!!!

Jean: I loved Devil in Spring (thanks to Jan for that recommendation)! You guys should try it!

Jan: Yes Jean! Devil In Spring is beautiful. Grab it while it’s on sale, folks. New one in series is out in Feb 2019 :D :D

Amy: I found one that sounds like it could be right up our Marmy alley… Thigh Bones of Desire. Odd title but that blurb! Oh man, that is my next read. For. Sure.

Maryse: ME TOO Amy! I think we’ll end up buddy-reading this one. :D

  • Juniper Smoke: Part I & II by Sadia Ash <— WILL BE A HOLLYWOOD MOVIE!! TWO books bundled in one and super-bargain priced today!! Plus, book #3 was just released too! :D
Jan: Jan: Juniper Smoke is a really different and original romance – although it wasn’t a perfect book I still recommend it cos it’s got such a different ‘flavour’. A ‘fresh’ feeling.
  • IF | A Novel by Randi Cooley Wilson <— LIVE AND OH EM GEEEEE ON THIS ONE!! Amy found it for us and I’m ON IT!!!!! “What happens when two broken people meet, fall in love, and realize they can never be? What happens when all the what ifs no longer make sense? If you knew your heart would break, would you still fall?”

Amy: I found another one just released today that has achy potential all over the blurb… IF by Randi Cooley Wilson. *OOMPH!*

Maryse: Yep… you ‘n me are still 100% book twins. I had the same OOMPH and lookit that cover!!!!!!!

AUDIOBOOK L:D VERS!

For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free audiobooks deal —>

R: Renee …My new obsession with audio books continues. I’m now finding things to do around the house just so I’ll have an excuse to “read.” Not that there’s ever a lack of things to do. I just don’t usually do them.

  • AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans all of your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!
  1. Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover <— Ashley LOVES this and says it takes the “book” to a whole new level.

Ashley: I have had the hugest girl crush on Colleen Hoover since I read Maybe Someday. The way she incorporated music right into the book that you could actually listen to while you read the lyrics was incredible! I ended up buying the songs so I could just listen to them while I was working. It remains one of my favorite reads…and I didn’t think it could possibly get any better until I listened to the audiobook. Whole new level. (Zachary Webber everyone.)

Nay December 21, 2018 at 8:25 AM

Good morning! Happy Friday!

Maryse December 21, 2018 at 8:51 AM

Good morning Nay!!! Happy Friday indeed!! :D

bev December 21, 2018 at 9:36 AM

Happy Friday everyone.

Alright, let’s get real.
Who is going to be here for Elf tonight?

Nay December 21, 2018 at 9:58 AM

What time is it again, bev?

bev December 21, 2018 at 10:06 AM

I think we said 6 PST. Does that still work?

MichelleS December 21, 2018 at 10:21 AM

My hubby got tickets for AQUAMAN, so I’m out. Hubba hubba – Jason Momoa!

MichelleS December 21, 2018 at 10:24 AM

Ribs & Thigh Bones sounds sooooo forbinny. Another one of my catnips! Yay. And it’s KU. Double yay.

bev December 21, 2018 at 10:26 AM

Really? Over Will and his elf costume?

Have a fun date night.

MichelleS December 21, 2018 at 10:29 AM

I actually watched Elf last weekend, so I’ll be there in spirit.

Leslie M December 21, 2018 at 10:48 AM

Good morning everyone!

Nay, how are you feeling?

Bev, how’s the new addition to your family?

I officially came down with cold yesterday and am feeling crappy. Not sure if I will be awake for Elf or not. I will try. I love that movie!!!

Tasha J December 21, 2018 at 11:05 AM

Nooo, not sick for Christmas! Poor Leslie. :( You need some elderberry tea, a warm, cozy blanket, and plenty of rest. *hands Leslie tea*

Tasha J December 21, 2018 at 11:10 AM

Michelle, I can’t stand that the only movies in theaters nowadays seem to be comic book stuff, but Aquaman looks seriously COOL!! I may have to break my silent protest to see it. Let us know what you think? :)
My daughter actually wants to see Mary Poppins Returns. That would be a fun one for Xmas weekend for me, as Mary Poppins was one of my absolute favorites as a kid. But, super busy weekend wrapping and baking and partying.

Leslie M December 21, 2018 at 11:27 AM

I was actually going to buy some tea and wondering which is best for a cold. Maybe I need to try elderberry??

Michele G December 21, 2018 at 12:44 PM

Leslie, I’m all green tea all the time…but I add honey when I have a cold…it soothes a scratchy throat. Doesn’t do much for opening the sinuses though…if you find one that does…maybe share it with us. Good luck…hope you feel better!!

Yay Nay! Hope you’re feeling well!

Michelle S…I’m jealous…that looks good! Enjoy the view…err the movie too!

Bev, I’m hoping to be here for Elf…it’s my current plan!

Michele G December 21, 2018 at 12:49 PM

Tasha, does elderberry tea really work? Guess I’m gonna have to give it a go…

Oh and The Ribs and Thigh Bones of Desire…I’m intrigued.

Tasha J December 21, 2018 at 3:35 PM

I have no idea if the tea really works. I bought some recently and *knock on wood* haven’t been sick to need it. It does taste ok though, mild. The lady at the health food store swore by it.

Leslie M December 21, 2018 at 4:55 PM

I think any tea with honey helps me when I have a cold. I ended up getting lemon/lavender and it’s good. My store didn’t have elderberry but I will try it sometime.

Tasha J December 21, 2018 at 4:59 PM

Yum, lemon lavender sounds good!

Nay December 21, 2018 at 6:51 PM

Hey, Leslie!

I’m doing pretty good. I got 13 screws and 2 plates just below my knee and the doctor said the surgery went great–the best he could’ve hoped for (which I was THRILLED to hear).

The pain is finally subsiding a bit, but we just took out my nerve block catheters, so once all the numbing goes away, we’ll see how it *really* is.

I’ve already walked on it with 50% weight and I’m also working on straightening and bending my knee. So all in all, so far, so good! I’m ready to get back to living (and reading) again!

Nay December 21, 2018 at 6:53 PM

Thanks, Michele! And thanks so much for everyone’s thoughts and prayers. I always feel the support of my wonderful friends!

Amy December 21, 2018 at 7:21 PM

I, unfortunately, MIGHT have to skip tonight…it’s the department Christmas party and I’m trying to get out of it. :?

bev December 21, 2018 at 7:35 PM

It’s just going to be MicheleG and I isn’t it.

Well.

Fine then.

Michele my dog and I will have a party of three.

We will bond over the genius of Will Ferrell and sugar.

We will become best friends.

She will start watching dramas with me because that’s what friends do.

She will go to K Con with me because that’s what friends do.

She will love Gong Yoo and Lin Manuel Miranda because that’s what friends do.

She will walk down the Jellicoe Road to the Courtyard because that’s what friends do.

And one day I will learn what she likes because that’s what friends do.

Nay December 21, 2018 at 7:41 PM

I’ll be here!

bev December 21, 2018 at 7:45 PM

Nevermind.

Leslie M December 21, 2018 at 7:48 PM

*cackles at Bev’s craziness*

Leslie M December 21, 2018 at 7:51 PM

Nay, jeesh!!! You have someone else’s heart and now you are full of screws and plates???

Jean December 21, 2018 at 8:15 PM

bev, that was priceless! Elf is on my TV but i’m actually reading Verity too….I can’t put it down until I know what the heck is going on!

Feel better Leslie!

I didn’t know about Kandace and the Beast…..1-clicked immediately!

IF looks good to me….. and yes, that cover. Click!

Michele G December 21, 2018 at 8:32 PM

Bev, you are cracking me up!!! I’m going to have to start watching K dramas y’all! I’m sure I’ll love them!! I’m currently hoping to be home for Elf – my dog is at groomer and should be ready any time….ugh!!!

bev December 21, 2018 at 8:37 PM

Let the count down begin.

bev December 21, 2018 at 9:01 PM

I’m here.

Nay December 21, 2018 at 9:05 PM

I’m here!

Sorry, Leslie–I didn’t see you were under the weather. Colds suck. Hope you feel better. When I have a cold or sore throat, there’s nothing better than lemon and ginger tea (fresh lemon and ginger root) for me. I’m a coffee fiend, but for some reason, I can’t drink coffee when I have a cold.

bev December 21, 2018 at 9:07 PM

Press play.

And its Bob Newhart. I love him.

Nay December 21, 2018 at 9:11 PM

Me too, bev. I watched every episode of The Bob Newhart Show and Newhart in real time. And I was only 6 years old when The Bob Newhart Show started. My parents watched it and I loved it.

bev December 21, 2018 at 9:26 PM

That’s what happens to huggers.

bev December 21, 2018 at 9:43 PM

I just love him.

Michele G December 21, 2018 at 9:56 PM

Bev & Nay, I’m unable to get Elf on but I’m stalking y’all here…I mean I do basically have it memorized …lol…

bev December 21, 2018 at 10:12 PM

Not much to stalk, lol.

bev December 21, 2018 at 10:13 PM

Apparently a mail room knows how to party with an Elf better than we do.

Michele G December 21, 2018 at 10:19 PM

I love that scene!!

R. Renee December 21, 2018 at 10:22 PM

I’m here but not watching. I’m not even sure how to make a movie play anymore!

bev December 21, 2018 at 10:40 PM

The End.

Seriously you all stink at this. Except Nay.

Michele G December 21, 2018 at 10:47 PM

Poo! What if I told you I’d try a K drama Bev??

bev December 21, 2018 at 11:00 PM

What are you thinking of watching?

Michele G December 21, 2018 at 11:19 PM

No clue…you’ll have to send me some recs.

Tasha J December 22, 2018 at 8:26 AM

Well, the cold has hit this house. I’ll start drinking the elderberry religiously, use my Doterra On Guard throat drops (the best), and On Guard rollerball. I’ll let ya know how it works.

Grey December 22, 2018 at 8:48 AM

I just put up a thread about challenge ideas for 2019 on GR for next year. Please weigh in!

bev December 22, 2018 at 9:31 AM

Michele I haven’t watched many of Netflix’s dramas yet. The ones that get good reviews. The ones I’d rec are on Viki.

I love and have watched a ton as you have probably noticed, but I have one that I think is probably a good introduction show especially for CR readers.

Fight My Way.

Contemporary
Friends to lovers
Strong likable heroine
The hero is just……you will see, just love.
Group of friends
Secondary second chance romance
Funny

There is a little side plot that to me seemed a bit convoluted.

I almost want to watch it again. Cause it was one of those shows (or books) that I liked while watching but then kept thinking back on.

Kelley B December 22, 2018 at 12:30 PM

Maryse-I just checked on the Kindle Unlimited deal as a gift for other people, and you can do it! You just need their email address, and Amazon will send them an activation email and send you the bill!!

Happy Holidays!

Amy December 22, 2018 at 2:16 PM

I would have much rather been here watching Elf with y’all but…office politics. And not knowing if I will stay with the company and move up or decide to do something else and move on, I had to play nice. *sigh* Adulting is just not fun sometimes.

Amy December 22, 2018 at 2:19 PM

Maryse…is that the Kandace you posted a pic of one time (with her hubby and you) and also the one who posts on here sometimes?

I went to click the book but apparently already did so when it first came out. So THANK YOU for posting that link so we can contribute to her babies’ future!

bev December 22, 2018 at 5:09 PM

I’m tempted to write up my best of list now as small as it is.
But I have 2 weeks off and maybe fit another book in.
Or just take the stress off and if I find a gem add it to next years ….should it be this stressful?

Tasha J December 22, 2018 at 6:20 PM

That’s me. I make everything that shouldn’t be stressful, stressful. Write out your list at least, it’ll make you feel better.

bev December 22, 2018 at 8:28 PM

I do it all the time. Made my list and sent it in.

Tasha J December 22, 2018 at 9:02 PM

I almost started Bird Box last night. But, I resisted and finished watching Bodyguard. And then I almost clicked it today! I think Bird Box might have to be my next read. I’m weak, I’ll watch the movie first and spoil the book! Except, I kinda wanted to start something less dark. Oh well, I won’t have much time to read the next few days anyway.
Started Grace and Frankie tonight. Seems like it’ll be good.

Tessa December 22, 2018 at 9:16 PM

Bev, I don’t write mine until the new year. I might read something between now and the end of the year that’s too good to NOT put on the list. I’ve already made a dirty list, but I gotta wait until the end of Dec to be sure.

bev December 22, 2018 at 10:25 PM

Yes, but you do read several books a day so your chances are a lot higher than mine, lol.

Michele G December 22, 2018 at 11:52 PM

Thanks for the recs Bev!

bev December 23, 2018 at 1:56 AM

I dont think I’ve shared this Merry Christmas.

https://youtu.be/cgCmnckWy6Y

Maryse December 23, 2018 at 8:24 AM

YAY KELLEY!!! :D

bev December 23, 2018 at 12:46 PM

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse

Maryse December 23, 2018 at 3:49 PM

*squeak* ;)

I’m back and working on Tasha J’s Best of 2018 list. AND!! She sent over pics of Jasper for me to post with it. YAY US!!!

Jan December 23, 2018 at 4:45 PM

I’ve just taken out a Christmas special for 3 months of kindle unlimited for $1.99AUD. Nice. Three months is enough for me to try it and decide whether or not it’s for me. Happy Christmas to me :D

Tasha J December 23, 2018 at 4:56 PM

Oh good, you got it! :) So, did I actually send it to the wrong one first?

Maryse December 23, 2018 at 7:48 PM

If you replied to the newsletter, it went to a different address but still one that’s part of my blog. But I have it at my main email address and I just posted it!! :D

Maryse December 23, 2018 at 7:49 PM

Tasha you must read Bird Box!!! Totally worth it… and the movie is great too!! But that ending is worth not spoiling.

bev December 23, 2018 at 9:02 PM

One of those weird days when I can’t seem to settle on one thing. Not book, show or music.

Tasha J December 23, 2018 at 10:32 PM

Thanks Maryse! I’ll try to read Bird Box ASAP! I’m trying to hold off on buying a smallish handful of books until after Christmas, in case I get any gift cards.
I hate days like that, Bev! Makes me feel all out of sorts.
I started Lucifer this morning on Netflix. I haven’t even watched the full first episode yet, but I really like it so far. And still watching Grace and Frankie at night. I can’t focus on reading right now with all the holiday stuff going on.

Jean December 24, 2018 at 9:40 AM

Yeah, i totally recommend reading Bird Box before watching the movie!

Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!! Will be running around for the next couple days! Love you all!

Jean December 24, 2018 at 10:00 AM

Oh, and I probably should have waited to make my list…..I am reading Look the Part by Jewel E. Ann and LOVING IT!!!!! So great!! I think it was on someone else’s “Favorites” list…..Jan maybe??

Tasha J December 24, 2018 at 11:58 AM

I love Jewel E. Ann. Haven’t read that one yet either.
It’s my birthday! I’m sick with that stupid cold and it’s worse today and elderberry tea doesn’t work. I hear it’s the syrup that’s supposed to do the trick anyway, but it was worth a shot. I shall treat myself with a make believe nap, a movie/show/and a new book. I got a peppermint bark latte too.

R. Renee December 24, 2018 at 12:05 PM

Happy Birthday Tasha!

bev December 24, 2018 at 12:11 PM

Happy Birthday Tasha!

Tasha J December 24, 2018 at 12:11 PM

Thank you R! Btw, Damian was so ingrained in my mind as Josh Duhamel that when I saw an article with him in it the other day saying he wanted to settle down with a woman young enough to have more children, I thought “oh, Damien’s ready for more babies!!” And caught myself, hahaha.

bev December 24, 2018 at 12:14 PM

Translation being: “I want to date women 20 years younger than me.”

R. Renee December 24, 2018 at 12:17 PM

Ugh! I was hoping that was just a phase! My group’s been consoling me. https://bit.ly/2rT34ST

Tasha J December 24, 2018 at 12:29 PM

Lol, I don’t see anything wrong with it. It’s honest, he’s planning for his future family like anyone else and age will play a part in that. Doesn’t have to be 20 years either, he’s 46. Women in their 30s still have babies. Well, and women like Janet Jackson defy science. Lol

Michele G December 24, 2018 at 12:49 PM

Happy Birthday Tasha!!

R. – we are all here for you with cocktails, etc to support your struggle over Josh looking for a new baby momma…

Merry Christmas everyone! My in-laws are in town and I’m in entertainment mode so I’ll probably be in and out…wishing all of you the best!!

bev December 24, 2018 at 12:58 PM

Nothing wrong with age differences. But my cynical side is that it is his PR spin on why he is being seen with a woman in her early 20s. Did a Google just to see, lol.

Tasha J December 24, 2018 at 1:10 PM

Oh, I didn’t think of it as a PR thing. I thought he did that podcast with Dax Shepard first and the paparazzi is just fishing for a story.

R. Renee December 24, 2018 at 1:24 PM

That’s what I thought. He doesn’t strike me as someone who cares much about his PR image.

Nay December 24, 2018 at 1:48 PM

I agree, Robin. To me, it doesn’t seem like he’d care one bit.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TASHA! May your presents not be wrapped in Christmas paper and may your cake contain no red or green!

bev December 24, 2018 at 2:29 PM

I’m sure he is a great guy. It just the usage of the word “young” makes me think he may pop up with a pregnant girlfriend under the age of 25.
But maybe he will end up with someone in her 30s.
*shrug*
Whatever makes them happy.

Tessa December 24, 2018 at 2:38 PM

Happy Birthday Tasha!!

Maryse December 24, 2018 at 3:21 PM

YAY!!! Happy birthday Tasha!!!!! :D <3

bev December 24, 2018 at 4:22 PM

I’m a little ambitious . I’m starting 2019 reads now. I just listed 100 books from my kindle library. It barely made a dent let alone if I add nook. But I want to clean this up.
This is going to be my main tbr with some free choice built in. A couple years ago I’d finish it before the end of year, but now? We will see.
Anyway I’m going to use a random # generator.

So first book is…..#77.
Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman.

bev December 24, 2018 at 4:23 PM

Beautiful cover.

Tasha J December 24, 2018 at 8:48 PM

Thank you all for the birthday wishes!

Maryse December 25, 2018 at 9:36 AM

Ooooh I like your reading style bev. Random!! :D

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!!! <3 :D !!!

Maryse December 25, 2018 at 9:43 AM

Ugh Tasha J… I think I caught your cold. Was feeling amazing and normal yesterday and when I went to bed, tossing and turning with that “coming down with a cold” feeling. And now I’m all achy and burny feeling.

My Christmas cold. *bah humbug!*

Maryse December 25, 2018 at 9:54 AM

bev… whenever you’re ready with your list, I am.

Include some of the fun stuff you watched (like last year).

Maryse December 25, 2018 at 9:55 AM

Amy, yes it’s her… She’s been with us for years now (came to Book Bash, stayed at my house for a few days and everything).

bev December 25, 2018 at 10:19 AM

I sent one in Maryse a couple days ago. Did it not go through?
