Happy Friday!! It’s time for the Friday Finds (which I’m still currently working on will be adding more throughout the day), so keep checking back.

My family is leaving today and my heart is a bit sad, but  my book will keep me company. ;)  I will be reading ALL weekend. YAY ME!!!

  • The Charm of You by Jennifer Probst <— LIVE!!! LATEST BY JENNIFER PROBST!!! She was once an awkward college student and he was the popular jock... “…when Nolan comes back into town, and doesn’t even recognize the girl he once destroyed, she decides to invoke her own personal revenge. The plan is simple—make him fall hard for her, then dump him. She transforms herself into his perfect woman using three simple steps to spin her web. But she never planned on getting caught up in old feelings…and new promises…”
  • Ghosted by J.M. Darhower <— GASP!!! SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT!! This is a MUST READ (I gave it 5 STARS!!!) and here’s my review

Tessa: Ghosted. That one worked beautifully. *swoons* That one is worthy of a re-read.

Ashley: Ghosted by J.M. Darhower. I bought it this morning and listened to it at work today…it was SO good! I love a great second chance romance.

Leslie M: Ghosted: Those journal entries KILLED me. Her love & devotion and then heartbreak punched me right in the feels. …Ghosted is one of my all time faves!!!

Nay: Let me just say that everyone was so, SO right! Ghosted is RUINING me–and I LOVE it!

Cheryl: Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan. For a “sports” story it was angsty. Reminded me of how I felt reading Thoughtless. …When I say felt like when reading Thoughtless, I mean the angst of love and relationships/love triangles and damn a sh!tload of complications/roadblocks to that love.
  • Mad as a Hatter (Sons of Wonderland Book 1) by Kendra Moreno <— LIVE!! HORROR RETELLING of Alice in Wonderland. “Clara spent her whole life fighting in courtrooms for the downtrodden, the strange ones, the abused. It’s only natural that when a man with rabbit ears on his head comes to see her, she doesn’t blink an eye… …until he opens a portal and drags her to Wonderland. But this isn’t the world she’s read about at home…”
  • The Hunted (The Killing Hours Book 1) by Christy Anderson
  • Tease: A Vixen Bluff Novel by C. Black
  • Hearts Of Darkness by Catherine Wiltcher <— LIVE!! DARK READ ALERT!! “…He’s a whisper of a name, a faceless stranger… A man content to dwell in the shadows of his underworld. Dante’s enemies found a weakness in him once. He’ll never let it happen again. That’s until the night Eve Miller walks past him on a dirty, desolate street. Now she’s his captive, kept at the whim of a man with no kindness or morality…”
  • Fighting the Odds by K Williams <— LIVE!!! SHE TAKES INTEREST IN HER NEIGHBORS… “...She never expected what would happen after she moved back into her childhood home. With a meddling mother, a father who is not what he seems, and her ex-boyfriend stalking her, Jacinta seeks comfort in the neighbors next door…”

For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free audiobooks deal —>

  • AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans all of your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!

Good morning! Happy Friday!

Grey August 17, 2018 at 6:33 AM

*walks in flings coffee pods* turns for the door & sees it is still raining… *sets up a blanket fort* *throws glitter and fairy sleep confetti* sorry girls, I’m wicked tired and need a nap, all this rain is headache city, I’m gonna nap and be back.

Melinda August 17, 2018 at 7:35 AM

What are you reading Maryse?

Anything good?

Nay August 17, 2018 at 7:36 AM
bev August 17, 2018 at 8:18 AM

No, I hadn’t.

Thanks, Nay!
I’ll pour some coffee and check them out. Been thinking of going on a buying ban of everything after this weekend so it’s perfect timing.

bev August 17, 2018 at 8:28 AM

I’m glad you have your book Maryse, lol.

Reminds me of those old comercials… “My buddy and me…”

Janie Otero August 17, 2018 at 9:11 AM

Does anyone have any book or author recommendations that are similar to Kristen Ashley or Devney Perry?!! Thanks :)

Tessa August 17, 2018 at 11:45 AM

I’ve read and loved all but one of the books in the rec if you love… Though now I REALLY want to watch Goblin. I just haven’t read Rock Hard by Nalini Singh. The other 3 are 5 stars for me.

Cheryl August 17, 2018 at 5:26 PM

Happy friday!!!! Spent the day shopping with my sister. Yeh!! Unfortunately, I think I have a flare up of sciatica, so going to ice my back now and of course read!

bev August 17, 2018 at 6:22 PM

I loved Goblin. I’ve said before but it was the perfect winter watch. Gorgeous cinematography, perfect use of the OST, and wonderful actors. Many did not like the age difference of the main leads or the heroine. But I didn’t mind and liked the actress. Really liked her in Cheese in the Trap too.
Really great bromance too. Cinematic, melancholy, and beautiful.
Of course Gong Yoo!

It should be a free watch on Drama Fever Tessa and that ap is free to when you decide to watch it.

Nay August 17, 2018 at 10:18 PM

MichelleS (and anyone else interested in Weaving Man and the Prophecy series)–the 3rd book in the Prophecy Series by Tove Foss Ford will be coming out soon (she posted that she’s trying to get it finished a couple of months ago). It’s titled ‘Eirdon’ and I just added it to GR.

If you look on TFF’s website, there’s also a gallery of the characters from ‘Weaving Man’ & ‘Love and Sacrifice’ and she did a blog post back in October, 2017 with pronunciations of people and places (I posted links to these on GR in the misc. chatter thread).

I guess I need to get on Wolfsong AND Weaving Man.

Nay August 17, 2018 at 10:21 PM

Hope your back feels better, Cheryl. My hubs has terrible back pain in his middle and lower back, and from watching him deal with it, I know it sucks!

Jan August 18, 2018 at 3:15 AM

Hi everyone *waves from the RWAus Conference in Sydney, Australia* I’m having fun! Where is everyone today? It looks unusually quiet on here. Oh well, gotta go and put my frock on for the Gala Awards dinner tonight. *waves again*. Byeeee.

Tasha J August 18, 2018 at 8:17 AM

Popping in quick to say- To All the Boys I’ve loved Before (Netflix), ahhh, SO sweet! I loved it as much as The Kissing Booth. :)

It’s my son’s birthday weekend so I’m crazy busy, no time for reading. Also, I sick and have a crap headache so it hurts to look at a screen to long. Heading to the aquarium today. :)

Leslie M August 18, 2018 at 10:36 AM

Sounds like everyone is crazy busy like me. I am getting ready for beach vacay. Woot woot

Janie, I LOVE rec’ing books but since I am not a KA fan, I don’t have any suggestions, sorry. :( Other peeps on here should have some for you though.

bev August 18, 2018 at 11:17 AM

Jan, that sounds like a lot of fun.
Gala always sounds so glamorous.

It always seems to get quiet in the summer around here. It’s weird this is my easy time. In a week will start my busy time.

Though i have been hanging around the drama kids.

Hope to really focus on some reading this weekend. Though I do have a movie I really want to watch that was rec’d.

It’s called Spellbound. He is a magician and she sees ghost. Probably should leave it for Halloween but I love Lee Min Ki.

I need to go buy some licorice. I’ve oddly been craving a licorice rope which i haven’t had in decades.

bev August 18, 2018 at 1:53 PM

Janie, Maryse has a list for that:

Is it weird that the title Weaving Man scares me? I read it and think “horror”.

Amy August 18, 2018 at 2:21 PM

Hey ladies, Warprize is on sale for 1.99!! SUCH a good one. :)

Have a blast, Jan!! And get all glammed up in your “frock.” *giggle* I love that word.

*sigh* So envious of you Maryse and Cheryl (yet happy for you as well) that you have sisters to hang out with. ;)

Nay August 18, 2018 at 2:21 PM

Jan–you’ll have to give us a recap when you’re done.

Janie–In May, MichelleS and I were on here raving about a book/series we’d read that had a major likeness to KA. It’s The Fallen Men series, and the first book is called Lessons in Corruption. This is what I posted about it on here:

“The alpha writing reminds me of KA A LOT and in a great way (usually when I get ‘like KA’ recs, they don’t much remind me of KA.)”

So if you enjoy reading about bikers, teacher/student, then I highly recommend these, especially if you love Tack Allen. BUT the second one has a huge age difference (bigger than the one in the first one), so if that bothers you, I’d read some reviews.

Grey August 18, 2018 at 4:07 PM

Happy birthday to R!!! *tosses glitter and confetti* *lines up Tito’s shots!* on that note, I’m out, we are leaving very early tomorrow morning (like before the sun comes up early…Ew, so not my idea!)

Nay August 18, 2018 at 5:01 PM

Happy Birthday, Robin!!

Cheryl August 18, 2018 at 5:35 PM

Happy, Happy Birthday R! Hope you have a special day doing all the things you love, with those you love!!! :)

Maryse August 18, 2018 at 5:44 PM

Happy birthday Robin!!!! My dear fellow Leo!!! :D

Janie Otero August 18, 2018 at 5:54 PM

Thank you Nay, Bev and Leslie! I need to find something to satisfy that KA addiction that I have lol. I just love how she does her alpha males and her heroines!

R. Renee August 18, 2018 at 6:17 PM

Thanks guys! It’s martini time. Somebody save me!

bev August 18, 2018 at 6:30 PM

Happy Birthday R!

I hope you have a wonderful day. And that in the coming years your husband looks ever more like Josh Duhamel and sound like Jim Morrison.

(Because your already married it sounds weird to actually wish you Josh.)

R. Renee August 18, 2018 at 6:34 PM

Thanks bev! LOL!

MichelleS August 18, 2018 at 7:27 PM

Nay – I LOVED The Weaving Man… can’t wait to see a gallery of characters & see if I was right pronouncing their names! Thanks for sharing that.

Amy August 18, 2018 at 7:40 PM

Happy birthday R!!!! Down those martinis like it’s your job!! :P

Maryse August 18, 2018 at 8:09 PM

I have the PERFECT martini mixer kit with all the bells and whistles. I should be the bartender tonight. ;)

R. Renee August 18, 2018 at 8:26 PM

Bartender!!! That would be great because I’m soooooo lazy right now! :D

Amy August 18, 2018 at 8:34 PM

Maryse is bartender tonight!! :D

Amy August 18, 2018 at 8:35 PM

With maybe some adorable martini glasses? ;)

Maryse August 18, 2018 at 10:18 PM

THE MOST COLORFUL & CUTE martini glasses. My sister made these fun little “glass markers” for ‘em. Cute little rings and starfish that match each polkadot color on the glasses.

Maryse August 18, 2018 at 10:19 PM

Thank goodness martinis are Keto-friendly. ;)

Jan August 19, 2018 at 3:52 AM

*happy sigh* Just sitting in my Sydney hotel room relaxing after the RWAus Conference. It was great! I (literally) rubbed shoulders with some of the authors. They were a fun bunch. I tried to act all cool and mature. LOL. Had a chat with Grace Burrowes while we waited in line for coffee. (As you do.) She’s really lovely. (I had a bit of a crush) *blushes*

Lots of other big names there too like Anne Gracie, Alison Stuart, Rachel Bailey etc. Lots of publishers, agents, editors etc wandering around too, so plenty of insider insights into the industry. I highly recommend going to this (or equivalent events in your country) if you’re interested in the romance book industry, even if you’re not a writer. Next Aus one’s in Melbourne August 2019.

Harlequin Books were the major sponsor and some of their prolific category writers were there too. Carol Marinelli has over 100 books published. Wow.

Welp, gotta pack my frock away into my suitcase now. My train leaves early tomorrow morning for the 9.5 hour trip home. More relaxing than a plane and I don’t live near a major airport anyway.

R. Renee August 19, 2018 at 6:46 PM
Nay August 19, 2018 at 8:08 PM

When I’m reading a romance book, I only want to see ONE thing dangling, and it ISN’T a modifier!! So I’ll happily put down the book I’m currently attempting to tolerate and move on to Bring Down the Stars!

R. Renee August 19, 2018 at 8:09 PM

OMG Nay! Your grammar talk makes me all tingly. Send screen shots!

Nay August 19, 2018 at 8:33 PM

Will do, Robin. I’m staring at a couple of cringeworthy back-to-back ones.

FYI for anyone besides me who’s anxiously awaiting the 8/24 release of the 3rd book in the Fallen Men series, Good Gone Bad–Giana Darling just announced that the release is postponed because of a family illness. She’ll announce a new date soon.

Jan August 20, 2018 at 2:38 AM

Ha ha ha Nay. I love your saucy grammar jokes.

Maryse August 20, 2018 at 9:09 AM

Keep us up to date Nay on that new release, if you see it. I know everyone that’s read that series loves it.

Maryse August 20, 2018 at 9:12 AM

I agree… Weaving Man does scare me.

Maryse August 20, 2018 at 9:12 AM

But then again I like to be scared. ;)

Nay August 20, 2018 at 4:56 PM

Will do, Maryse. I joined her FB group, so she’ll probably post there first. I just have to keep up with FB (which I don’t normally do) and we’re good!
