Good morning! Happy Friday!
*walks in flings coffee pods* turns for the door & sees it is still raining… *sets up a blanket fort* *throws glitter and fairy sleep confetti* sorry girls, I’m wicked tired and need a nap, all this rain is headache city, I’m gonna nap and be back.
What are you reading Maryse?
Anything good?
bev–have you seen this article?
https://frolic.media/obsessed-with-k-dramas-we-have-the-perfect-book-pairings-for-you/
Also, I saw these books on GR yesterday and, of course, thought of you:
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/116772.What_to_Read_if_You_Love_KDramas_#17936057
No, I hadn’t.
Thanks, Nay!
I’ll pour some coffee and check them out. Been thinking of going on a buying ban of everything after this weekend so it’s perfect timing.
I’m glad you have your book Maryse, lol.
Reminds me of those old comercials… “My buddy and me…”
Does anyone have any book or author recommendations that are similar to Kristen Ashley or Devney Perry?!! Thanks π
I’ve read and loved all but one of the books in the rec if you love… Though now I REALLY want to watch Goblin. I just haven’t read Rock Hard by Nalini Singh. The other 3 are 5 stars for me.
Happy friday!!!! Spent the day shopping with my sister. Yeh!! Unfortunately, I think I have a flare up of sciatica, so going to ice my back now and of course read!
I loved Goblin. Iβve said before but it was the perfect winter watch. Gorgeous cinematography, perfect use of the OST, and wonderful actors. Many did not like the age difference of the main leads or the heroine. But I didnβt mind and liked the actress. Really liked her in Cheese in the Trap too.
Really great bromance too. Cinematic, melancholy, and beautiful.
Of course Gong Yoo!
It should be a free watch on Drama Fever Tessa and that ap is free to when you decide to watch it.
MichelleS (and anyone else interested in Weaving Man and the Prophecy series)–the 3rd book in the Prophecy Series by Tove Foss Ford will be coming out soon (she posted that she’s trying to get it finished a couple of months ago). It’s titled ‘Eirdon’ and I just added it to GR.
If you look on TFF’s website, there’s also a gallery of the characters from ‘Weaving Man’ & ‘Love and Sacrifice’ and she did a blog post back in October, 2017 with pronunciations of people and places (I posted links to these on GR in the misc. chatter thread).
I guess I need to get on Wolfsong AND Weaving Man.
Hope your back feels better, Cheryl. My hubs has terrible back pain in his middle and lower back, and from watching him deal with it, I know it sucks!
Hi everyone *waves from the RWAus Conference in Sydney, Australia* I’m having fun! Where is everyone today? It looks unusually quiet on here. Oh well, gotta go and put my frock on for the Gala Awards dinner tonight. *waves again*. Byeeee.
Popping in quick to say- To All the Boys Iβve loved Before (Netflix), ahhh, SO sweet! I loved it as much as The Kissing Booth. π
Itβs my sonβs birthday weekend so Iβm crazy busy, no time for reading. Also, I sick and have a crap headache so it hurts to look at a screen to long. Heading to the aquarium today. π
Sounds like everyone is crazy busy like me. I am getting ready for beach vacay. Woot woot
Janie, I LOVE rec’ing books but since I am not a KA fan, I don’t have any suggestions, sorry. π Other peeps on here should have some for you though.
Jan, that sounds like a lot of fun.
Gala always sounds so glamorous.
It always seems to get quiet in the summer around here. It’s weird this is my easy time. In a week will start my busy time.
Though i have been hanging around the drama kids.
Hope to really focus on some reading this weekend. Though I do have a movie I really want to watch that was rec’d.
It’s called Spellbound. He is a magician and she sees ghost. Probably should leave it for Halloween but I love Lee Min Ki.
I need to go buy some licorice. I’ve oddly been craving a licorice rope which i haven’t had in decades.
Janie, Maryse has a list for that:
https://www.maryse.net/books/book-recommendations/what-to-read-after-kristen-ashley.html
Is it weird that the title Weaving Man scares me? I read it and think “horror”.
I agree… Weaving Man does scare me.
But then again I like to be scared. π
Hey ladies, Warprize is on sale for 1.99!! SUCH a good one. π
Have a blast, Jan!! And get all glammed up in your βfrock.β *giggle* I love that word.
*sigh* So envious of you Maryse and Cheryl (yet happy for you as well) that you have sisters to hang out with. π
Jan–you’ll have to give us a recap when you’re done.
Janie–In May, MichelleS and I were on here raving about a book/series we’d read that had a major likeness to KA. It’s The Fallen Men series, and the first book is called Lessons in Corruption. This is what I posted about it on here:
“The alpha writing reminds me of KA A LOT and in a great way (usually when I get βlike KAβ recs, they donβt much remind me of KA.)”
So if you enjoy reading about bikers, teacher/student, then I highly recommend these, especially if you love Tack Allen. BUT the second one has a huge age difference (bigger than the one in the first one), so if that bothers you, I’d read some reviews.
Happy birthday to R!!! *tosses glitter and confetti* *lines up Tito’s shots!* on that note, I’m out, we are leaving very early tomorrow morning (like before the sun comes up early…Ew, so not my idea!)
Happy Birthday, Robin!!
Happy, Happy Birthday R! Hope you have a special day doing all the things you love, with those you love!!! π
Happy birthday Robin!!!! My dear fellow Leo!!! π
Thank you Nay, Bev and Leslie! I need to find something to satisfy that KA addiction that I have lol. I just love how she does her alpha males and her heroines!
Thanks guys! It’s martini time. Somebody save me!
Happy Birthday R!
I hope you have a wonderful day. And that in the coming years your husband looks ever more like Josh Duhamel and sound like Jim Morrison.
(Because your already married it sounds weird to actually wish you Josh.)
https://youtu.be/O17i437KIBI
Thanks bev! LOL!
Nay – I LOVED The Weaving Man… can’t wait to see a gallery of characters & see if I was right pronouncing their names! Thanks for sharing that.
Happy birthday R!!!! Down those martinis like itβs your job!! π
I have the PERFECT martini mixer kit with all the bells and whistles. I should be the bartender tonight. π
Bartender!!! That would be great because I’m soooooo lazy right now! π
Maryse is bartender tonight!! π
With maybe some adorable martini glasses? π
THE MOST COLORFUL & CUTE martini glasses. My sister made these fun little “glass markers” for ’em. Cute little rings and starfish that match each polkadot color on the glasses.
Thank goodness martinis are Keto-friendly. π
*happy sigh* Just sitting in my Sydney hotel room relaxing after the RWAus Conference. It was great! I (literally) rubbed shoulders with some of the authors. They were a fun bunch. I tried to act all cool and mature. LOL. Had a chat with Grace Burrowes while we waited in line for coffee. (As you do.) She’s really lovely. (I had a bit of a crush) *blushes*
Lots of other big names there too like Anne Gracie, Alison Stuart, Rachel Bailey etc. Lots of publishers, agents, editors etc wandering around too, so plenty of insider insights into the industry. I highly recommend going to this (or equivalent events in your country) if you’re interested in the romance book industry, even if you’re not a writer. Next Aus one’s in Melbourne August 2019.
Harlequin Books were the major sponsor and some of their prolific category writers were there too. Carol Marinelli has over 100 books published. Wow.
Welp, gotta pack my frock away into my suitcase now. My train leaves early tomorrow morning for the 9.5 hour trip home. More relaxing than a plane and I don’t live near a major airport anyway.
Pssst… Bring Down the Stars by Emma Scott went live early! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GN2BH12/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1534721920&sr=8-1&keywords=emma+scott+Bring+Down+The+Stars
When I’m reading a romance book, I only want to see ONE thing dangling, and it ISN’T a modifier!! So I’ll happily put down the book I’m currently attempting to tolerate and move on to Bring Down the Stars!
OMG Nay! Your grammar talk makes me all tingly. Send screen shots!
Will do, Robin. I’m staring at a couple of cringeworthy back-to-back ones.
FYI for anyone besides me who’s anxiously awaiting the 8/24 release of the 3rd book in the Fallen Men series, Good Gone Bad–Giana Darling just announced that the release is postponed because of a family illness. She’ll announce a new date soon.
Keep us up to date Nay on that new release, if you see it. I know everyone that’s read that series loves it.
Ha ha ha Nay. I love your saucy grammar jokes.
Will do, Maryse. I joined her FB group, so she’ll probably post there first. I just have to keep up with FB (which I don’t normally do) and we’re good!
