HAPPY FRIDAY!!! YAY!!!! IT’S THE WEEKEND and it’s time to relax with yet another good book. And guess what? There are some pretty great sounding books that just went live, and some reader recommendations that are new-to-me!!!
TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT WE FOUND !!
- Most Irresistible Guy by Lauren Blakely <— LAUREN BLAKELY ALERT!!!! PREQUEL TO Most Valuable Playboy “…when Cooper told me he’d won the starting quarterback job before he shared the news with anyone else, I started to believe we could be more. But I didn’t want to lose him as a friend, so I chose to focus on him solely as my buddy. That worked well enough for a while. Until that night, in front of everyone, when he shocked my world to its core...”
Turn (Gentry Generations) by Cora Brent <— CORA BRENT ALERT!!! “...A supposedly reformed gang member from the rundown prison town where my folks grew up, Curtis looks like he was built for mayhem. We have nothing in common. If he hadn’t taken a job working for my father, our paths wouldn’t even cross…”
- Unruly by Cora Brent <— AND ANOTHER FROM CORA BRENT!!! It broke Tessa’s heart!!
Tessa: Last night, I finished Unruly by Cora Brent. I picked it up, wanting something fun, slightly angsty, but just feel good. I did not get that. It freaking tore my heart out. This wasn’t slightly weepy at a certain point. This was tears falling ugly cry. I couldn’t stop. I refuse to think about parts now because I start crying all over again. *kicks a can* Stupid book!
Sex, Love, and Rock and Roll series by Michelle Hazen <— ROCK STAR ALERT!!! Sandra recommends this rock star series!
- Sandra: If you haven’t had a chance to read it, Michelle Hazen’s Sex, Love, and Rock and Roll series is fantastic. It’s New Adult and follows The Red Letters from their early days to stardom. There are 3 books in the series, plus a prequel, though only the prequel and book one have been released. The best part? The band’s drummer is a woman and she kicks add!
My Enemy Next Door by Whitney G. & Nicole London <— A BOOK BY WHITNEY G. & NICOLE LONDON JUST WENT LIVE!!! How I love the premise of the annoying next door neighbor!! 😉 She became his enemy in high school… and now it’s a few years later and he accepts a job in a law firm… “Until I find out that Courtney Ryan graduated from law school, too. Until I realize that she’ll be working at the same exact firm, in the office right across from me. And if this timing isn’t unfortunate enough, she’s far more tempting and sexier than I originally remembered. (Oh, and last night I found out that she lives right next door…)”
- Buried Alive by Stacey Marie Brown <— LIVE!!! “...The moment Hannah walks into his room, he knows something is different about her. Drawn to her, he can’t seem to stay away from the mysterious, guarded girl. They are two heartbroken souls who both understand the darkness. Little does he know she lives in lies and carries secrets that will bring his universe to its knees and secrets that will bury them both alive.“
The Long Walk Back by Rachel Dove <— SHE SAVES HIM… “…As an army trauma surgeon Kate knows how to keep her cool in the most high pressure of situations. Although back at home in England her marriage is falling apart, out in the desert she’s happy knowing that she’s saving lives. Until she meets Cooper. It’s up to Kate to make a split-second decision to save Cooper’s life...”
- Lost For You: Rockstar Romance (Sixth Street Bands Book 4) by Jayne Frost <— ROCK STAR’S BROTHER ALERT!!! “...My brother is the genius guitarist for the band Caged, and I’m the one who helped make that happen. I’m happy to run my bars and
my land development company. Sure I am. And then I meet her—Taryn Ayers—the music manager behind the three biggest bands in the country. She doesn’t know I’m Cam’s older brother. Or that I’ve got a secret that makes her world and mine fundamentally incompatible...”
- Stand By Me by S.D. Robertson <— HER BEST FRIEND IS BACK… “...Twenty years later, life has pulled the pair apart and Lisa is struggling. Her marriage is floundering, her teenage kids are being secretive, and she’s so tired she can’t think straight. So when Elliot knocks on the door, looking much better than she remembers, she can’t help but be delighted to see her old friend again…”
The Hail You Say (Hail Raisers Book 5) by Lani Lynn Vale <— LANI LYNN VALE’S LATEST IS LIVE!! They broke each other’s heart years ago… and now she’s on his exam table! “Reed Hail is her worst nightmare because she’s constantly reminded of exactly what she’s missing—the other half of her soul. Just when she thinks things can’t get worse, she’s sees his sexy, bearded face over the top of her paper gown, and she’s lost all over again. Don’t ever let me go. Both Reed and Krisney are determined to avoid each other. They do a great job of it, too…not. One ill-timed gynecological exam changes everything...”
- Forever Love: A Friends to Lovers Collection by Alyssa Rose Ivy
Uncharted: a survival love story by Julie Johnson <— SURVIVAL & FORBIDDEN LOVE ALERT!! YES PLEASE!!! I want to read this!!! “…I took one look at the stranger in the airport terminal and knew he was exactly the kind of man my mother spent seventeen years warning me against. Gruff, grumpy, and far too good-looking to stare at without experiencing heart palpitations. Thankfully, I’d never see him again. Or so I thought. I couldn’t have known our plane would crash. I couldn’t have predicted we’d be the only survivors…”
- Redemption by Emily Blythe <— FIGHTER BOOK ALERT!! “...even this bad boy has a weakness, and it’s the hard-talking woman who raised him. When her ailing health takes a turn for the worst, Evan makes the decision to hire a home care worker to make sure she’s cared for at night. What he was expecting was some matronly nurse—what he wasn’t expecting was quiet, practical Isobel and her quiet, practical beauty. He’s huge, she’s tiny. He’s a brute, she’s as gentle as a lamb. Even their differences can’t keep them from wanting each other.”
Ace (Moonshine Task Force Book 4) by Laramie Briscoe <— LARAMIE BRISCOE ALERT!! HE ARRESTED HER HUSBAND… “...My gut has always kept me honest. Like the day I walked into The Café and saw the new waitress. There was a ring on her left hand, but I didn’t care. One look in her eyes told me everything I needed to know. Her marriage wasn’t one made of love and respect. It was one made of fear and doubt. It’s why I ignored that ring, why I arrested her husband, and the reason I’m willing to take my time. Patience is a virtue, and with this woman, I have it in spades...”
Someone In The Way by Rachel Del <— SINGLE MOM WADING THROUGH DIVORCE... “...Nathan Trainor always falls for the wrong women—and Lily is no exception. But now that she’s practically single Nate knows this could be his only chance to prove history wrong. When Lily and Nate are assigned the task of signing a bestselling author who is rumored to be seeking new representation, Lily must put her troubles aside and do whatever it takes to get the job done. And Nate might just get his chance to write his own happy ending...”
- Waking Olivia by Elizabeth O’Roark <— SLOW BURN & FORBIDDEN LOVE!!! Lisa recommends it!
- Lisa: I’ve been reading books based on all the 2017 favorites lists. The latest is Waking Olivia. It is a “forbidden” (not very forbidden ) SLOW BURN CR. The MC fight the attraction. Catnip! I liked it!!! I’m on to the next book. Drowning Erin.
Full Contact (The Crossover Series) by Kathy Coopmans & HJ Bellus <— LIVE!!! A MAFIA PRINCESS & A FOOTBALL STAR… oh oh. They once were so happy, but she gave him up to protect him, and he moved on and became a sports star… “Some say true love has a way of finding its way back. Justice and Liam know better to believe. That’s up until the day they find themselves in a heated meeting. She owns a new football team. He’s coming back from an injury and thirsty to prove the nation wrong…”
Begin Again: An Anthology by A.M. Johnson, Stephanie Rose, J.A. DeRouen, Ginger Scott, Anne Jolin, Ariadne Wayne, Emery Jacobs, M. Andrews, K.P. Haigh, Kay Renee, Maria MacDonald, Faith Andrews, K.K. Allen, Mara White, Autumn Grey, Josephine Brierley , Amanda Richardson, Stephie Walls, Jaci Wheeler , Stephanie Alba, L.A. Taylor, Foreword by Rebecca Yarros M <— ANTHOLOGY ALERT!!!! “Twenty-Two Authors have joined together in this collection of short stories about fresh starts and second chances to help illustrate that even when life takes away everything, and when hope is a horizon you think you’ll never catch, it is possible to Begin Again.”
The Hookup by J.S. Cooper <— LIVE AND… OH WOW!! BLURB JOLT ALERT!!! This one sounds like an incredible love triangle!!!! Her best friend (her knight in shining armor) and the new guy she fell hard for… (devil in disguise)… OOOOH I WANNA READ IT!
“He was a Knight in shining armor according to himself Nate Lexington is bossy, charming, handsome, and quite possibly the most annoying man I’ve ever met in my life. He’s also my best friend. He treats me like his little sister and if he could run my life he would. Only I don’t let him. Much to his chagrin. Nate thinks I live my life with my head in the clouds and all he does is groan when I tell him about my quest for true love.
He was the devil in disguise according to Nate
Dylan Mason is the sexiest man I’ve ever met in my life. I met and fell for him in a weekend. He swept me off of my feet and my heart became his in an instant. He was a charmer, a rogue, a devious manipulator. I didn’t care. He was the one I’d been waiting my whole life to meet. He was Mr. Perfection himself.”

Good morning! I have quite the book hangover. After two recent 5 stars (Waiting for the Sun & Behind the Bars) I just can’t figure out what to read. *grumble* Everything I try is boring me.
Eeeeep!! I’m so thrilled for R!!!! Leslie’s picky, too!
*tosses…mittens* because apparently I’m about to be buried in snow again. Oy, Mother Nature. Get your sh*t together! It was in the 60’s yesterday and I was at the car wash… And tonight I’m going to be getting iced and snowed in… Gah!
This list, Maryse, you’re not helping me with my resolution… I see some potential! What about your best of 2017 post??? I still have your spot on my spreadsheet waiting…
Yep, Grey its gonna freeze here too. Tomorrow. *sigh* I was going to go to the Greek district here and eat some delicious food… and stroll the streets, but maybe not.
Happy Friday!!
So I went to marked Unruly ‘to be read’ on GR and find that, surprise! Not only did I shelve it in 2015, I read it in January of 2017 and gave it 3 stars, only….I didn’t. I NEVER read that book.
I HATE it when GR reviews books for me! I noticed that Robin has one of those. A man who left her 3 stars back in August. Now you KNOW that’s an error. But it sucks that it brings an author’s rating down.
LOL Nay!!!! OMG how presumptuous of it!!!!!!!
*snort*
Ugh! I hate when the GR gremlins come out and play.
Ooh. Uncharted sounds yummy. Some survivors of a plane crash! Maybe it’ll have that On the Island feel?
Sole. Sole survivors!!!! Some survivors sounds boring. SOLE survivors sounds promising. See how one little letter can ruin an entire premise!
I have had weird GR mojo too. Don’t trust those shelves.
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! *WAVES AT EVERYONE FRANTICALLY*
So yeah, it was 54 yesterday right after it was -4 and now we are back to freezing and waiting on the snow! Gaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!
UM LESLIE?????? I DON’T RECALL YOU FINISHING ACOTAR…*THROWS PEANUTS* MOVE YOUR TUSH AND READ IT EVEN IF YOU DESPISE PNR!
Nay, I was wondering why it was only three stars for you. I was like, but the writing, and the feels… okay. 🙂
So, I was busy last night and then fell asleep early, and there were Bev questions, so…
1. Which one of us is most likely to be a spy? Bev, obviously. She’s the one who asks the questions.
2. Which one of us is most likely to be a crime lord. Ela.
3. Newest crush? Post pic. Not because he is an awesome quarterback, but that face and personality https://s.yimg.com/ny/api/res/1.2/0RQXrp3cQaU9kAy6eLxKYQ–/YXBwaWQ9aGlnaGxhbmRlcjtzbT0xO3c9ODAw/https://media.zenfs.com/en/homerun/feed_manager_auto_publish_494/f3d55411b3aee5c14ba90e5b01e1f7ff

9. Should Maryse give Pim a cookie right now? Yes, two cookies
*whispers*
And Hobit two? Yes.
10. Last song you just had to Shazam or look up? A Girl Like You by Easton Corbin
*waves at Ela*
Hi! We have missed you…feel like you haven’t been around much. I was wondering how long I could get away with “pausing” ACoTaR. *hangs head in shame*
I made it to 40% then Waiting for the Sun arrived & distracted me. My issue with it is that it is very slow. Its almost halfway through and barely anything has happened. I thought it would be confusing and overwhelming which is what usually makes me dnf a pnr/fantasy book. So it has that going for it at least. I will try to get back into it, I promise. 😉
You know I’d catch you eventually! I’ve been around but I’m super duper busy at work and just had 3-day SQL training.
I miss everyone tooo! ANNNNNNNNNNNNdddddddd I’m apparently a crime lord….wooooooooot hoooooooooooot
I missed the latest poll? okay, here goes…
1. Which one of us is most likely to be a spy? Maryse – she keeps everything we say in some file –
2. Which one of us is most likely to be a crime lord. Fabi – that’s why she is MIA – doing crime-lord-things.
3. Newest crush? Post pic. Henry Cavill and his dog. Gah! He is just too good looking for his own good. I know I’d blush like a school-girl if I was ever in the same room as him.
https://www.justjared.com/2017/10/12/henry-cavills-dog-kal-makes-cameo-in-the-rake-shoot/
4. Favorite cheese? Brie
5. Last thing to make you laugh? A baby bat eating a grape for the first time – video
6. What children’s book should Jasper have in his nursery? Guess How Much I Love You
7. Marry Date Kill: Charlie Hunam Jason Momoa Josh Duhamel:
– Marry Charlie
– Date Jason
– Kill Josh
8. Book you’d pick for a buddy read that you haven’t read? “Drive” – it made so many “best of” lists.
9. Should Maryse give Pim a cookie right now? Yes. Food = love.
And Hobit two? Yes. More food = more love.
10. Last song you just had to Shazam or look up? Tennessee Whiskey.
Lol, until Bev explained what Shazam was, I thought it was a song that just gave you that feeling. Made ya wanna break into dance or something. Ya know, *strikes pose* SHAZAM!
MichelleS! You would love Drive. It was so great, and it was one of the harder books where you just liked both guys… *whispers* She picked the wrong guy imo.
Yep! Uncharted looks like my kind of book, and sweet Jesus it’s present tense. I need something because I’ve been striking out. I put ACOTAR off too. I was enjoying it, but I can’t focus right now. I need mindless CR.
My lone spammer, ole Gary. He doesn’t bother me *now* but GR has a real problem with spammers and it’s affecting some of the bigger authors’ ability to get picked up internationally or get Audible deals. Some of my friends have HUNDREDS of spam ratings.
Nay, I meant to say this too from Friday’s post. I saw that you were introducing Garth Brooks to your son (Seeing him was my first concert!) and there is a rock band, All That Remains, that redid Thunder Rolls. 🙂 A little heavy on the base on the recording of it (at least to me. HoH with the upper register, so all overly loud base sounds horrible) but you can tell they adore the song.
I wonder if they can report those people to GR. There has to be a way, right? I mean, if you don’t like an author for real, you don’t keep reading their books or wasting your time with them.
These aren’t readers and spam ratings are due to a number of factors. GR policy is that they are reader based, not writer, so they allow their readers to use the star rating however they choose. Some people use them to organize their TBR, 1 star for a book they want to avoid, 5 stars for a highly anticipated book, etc (honestly, I think Gary fits this category). Sometimes people accidentally click on stars just by shelving a book. <– This happens a lot. But the killers are the spammers. People who intentionally rate a book low just to be mean. You can tell because they never have a profile and they rate everything low. GR says they want to take care of this issue, but they don't actually do anything about it. I don't know if they're just overwhelmed or if it's just not high on their priority list. And this along with their new policy of charging authors to do giveaways, they are making it impossible for indie authors to survive.
Iiiiiiiiiiiiiii’mmmmmmm baaaaaaaaaaack
MAN what an insane, intense, heartbreaking, hardworking 4 weeks it has been!
Ok so I had take a break from all thing heart warming/wrenching for a while…
sorry NayNay I will come back to It Ends With Us and finish it before the month is out – gotta lurv a challenge (esp pick4me)
So what have I been reading – well honestly I’ve been hiding out in another genre and found my NEW pretend boyfriend – his name is Joe Ledger!!!!!
He sooooooo yummy and his Audiobook voice is the sex baby
Gahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! I just can’t get enough of Jonathan Maberry’s JL serries have been obsessed reading and binge listening this whole week – just started book 4 yesterday! Cra cra I KNOW RIGHT
Oh Joe where have you been all my life * Swoooooooon*
Xoxo
I’m in a book funk. Read so many 5 stars in a row already this year, Moon Called, Devil in the Spring, Everything We Keep, Waiting For the Sun…..sigh…..I’m thinking bev is contagious.
And my friend just begged me to read a book she just finished and went as far as lending it to me….she said she never laughed so hard….. so don’t make fun of me when you see the title on GR….. it’s called Mister McHottie!!!
LOL Jean!! Enjoy McHottie!!! 😉
Then after that, you should read Blood Bound! 😛
Yes Tessa! I should! I still have to buy it though. I think I’ll pick up a gift card for myself on the way home.
*crawls into the blankie fort* I’m not coming out until Tuesday!
1. Which one of us is most likely to be a spy?
Me… duh, my glitter is really like the neuralizer in that Men in Black movie… remember? No?? see… it works!
2. Which one of us is most likely to be a crime lord?
Jean, because she’s my book twin and if I’m a spy… then my twin has to be a crime lord… *giggle*
3. Newest crush? Post pic.
what, why? LOL. Spies cant post pics, it’s against my moral code.
4. Favorite cheese?
I’m not hugely into cheese, although I do like the fondue thing at The Melting Pot…
5. Last thing to make you laugh?
This post
6. What children’s book should Jasper have in his nursery?
Goodnight Moon
7. Marry Date Kill: Charlie Hunam Jason Momoa Josh Duhamel:
Wow… this is the PG13 version, alrighty then… *giggle*
Marry Charlie, *Date* Jason, Kill Josh
8. Book you’d pick for a buddy read that you haven’t read?
The Gravity of Us or Wrecking Ball, both of them seem to be on several best of 2017 lists…
9. Should Maryse give Pim a cookie right now?
Is this a trick question? Maryse should give *me* a cookie…
And Hobit two?
Again, I feel like I’m being punked. More cookies, more love, more time in the fort!
10. Last song you just had to Shazam or look up?
Outsiders – Acoustic by Au/Ra
Thanks for the fun, as always, bev!
*sneaks the cookie jar to Grey*
psssssst. Don’t tell my puppies. Don’t make a sound. Don’t crunch. Let the cookie melt all-gross-like, until it becomes soundless. 😉
EENNNNJOY!!!!
I’m starting Susan Fanetti’s new one today. (Not out till tomorrow for you guys bwahaha). Nothing On Earth And Nothing In Heaven (title is from a quote about women’s suffrage). She’s breaking the mould again by trying a different genre. HR set in 1910. SFSG 😀 *happy sigh*
No, I will point and laugh. Hey, you know, maybe ask Maryse if she has a book she’d like to buddy read instead.
Just an innocent suggestion.
LOL!!!!!! Hey I know one!!!! 😀
This is so weird but I never thought about 1 star spammers I always think of the 5 star spammers.
I know I am a grump but when I see the 20 or so 5 star reviews pre release on Goodreads or Amazon I don’t click anymore. This doesnt include trusted blogs or critics. I think friends, families, and fans. Or people looking to build up their reviews for arcs. I will go back after release and check out the 3 star reviews. Then if they mention things I like combined with the 5 star I’d read it.
Wooohooo! Ok, I have no idea how long ago it was, maybe a cpl months, but remember when I raved about The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on prime?! Well, it’s done so well that for this weekend, even if you don’t have Prime they’re making it available to stream the 1st season (the only one out so far) for free!!! You must watch ladies! It’s so funny and goooood! https://ew.com/tv/2018/01/12/marvelous-mrs-maisel-amazon-streaming-free/?utm_campaign=entertainmentweekly&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=social&xid=socialflow_facebook_entertainmentweekly
Just finished Uncharted and I LOVED IT. All I can say is the author had better be busy writing the sequel very soon or I will be very upset.
Thanks Tasha, I might try that show!
JulieO, Uncharted isn’t a standalone story? I will wait to read that one. Glad to hear it was so good.
Bev, I am suspicious of all 5 star reviews from pretty much anyone unless one of my book buds…even if not new release. So I understand.
Welcome back Kooloo!!!
I want a cookie.
Just finished Between Me and You. I mostly loved it and it had the “feels” I love. It made my tummy hurt from the beginning- wondering how it would end and for all the miscommunications and bad timing that the MC’s experienced. It did get a little redundant with the MC’s gripes/issues and it was somewhat confusing because the chapters were not in chronological order. (I had more parts highlighted and notes than I generally do trying to keep everything straight). It is in dual pov, but I didn’t think it took away from the angst level. FYI it does have cheating.
Now sitting in parking lot of my daughters school waiting for AAA tow truck. Hit pot hole and now have a flat tire. Ugh, not what I planned on doing today.
I could use a cookie and coffee waiting for tow truck. 🙁
Jean, funny book sounds great right now!
Cheryl, I hope you get rescued soon.
*passes Cheryl coffee*
Sorry, no cookies here.
Is it weird that because that book has cheating it makes me want to read it more?
Aw Cheryl, no fun! I hope you’ve already been rescued.
We are snowed in here… The Weather Channel was even spotted… you know schtuff is getting real when they show up, haha!
I read My Enemy Next Door… it was a quick read. KU… so yeah. Trying to decide what to dig into today.
Maryse, are you going to post your list???
I don’t trust Amazon reviews. I do trust this blog, and all those “best of” lists! I’m betting those are all great reads if you can remember them from this year!
I love my cookies all mushy. I dunk them in coffee or take a drink at the same time so they just fall apart in my mouth. No chewing. Gah! Again! No wonder i can’t lose weight. Not. Even. Chewing. The. Cookies!
Cheryl – cheating & love triangles just don’t do it for me. Nothing in my history, just not a plot I’m drawn to. I DID like the Kathleen Turner series by T. Snow, though. Huge love triangle there.
BTW, for my THRONE OF GLASS fans here, you MUST READ Chaol’s book! So much important back story. You’ll be lost without it.
Hey to the Fae lovers, The Darkest Part of the Forest is on sale right now. One of my favorites last year.
MichelleS, I will! Eventually! It’s part of all the awesome fantasy books I have that I haven’t read yet.
Bev, I need to read Holly Black. Her blurbs all appeal to me, including that way.
I’m reading Carter from the reader’s question, and so far, so good. Though I wish it would stop hinting at bad things to happen. Hit me with surprise crapola happening, not this silly foretelling.
*squeee* BEV! I got Shadowsong from NetGalley! *jumps in happiness*
Yay, Tessa!
That is exciting. It seems like a big get.
The Most Irresistible Guy was just free on Amazon!!!!!
Gah I’m so peeved right now! For once I was finally more prepared and making a roast in my crockpot. And the damn thing was a pain for me to get fat off of. Like that sticky stretchy fat, so I was cutting a hunk at a time and then I get to the last big hunk, take it out and low and behold, I cooked the fracking meat packaging with it. It was torn open and I just wasted a whole hour of my day messing with the stupid thing just to have to throw it out! :'(
Tasha, I hate epic food fails!!
They’re the worst! I had no choice but to go the fast food route, which I hate to do bc not only am I paranoid about issues after, but this time of year everyone’s sick and I don’t want them preparing my food.
Read The Ghostwriter today, *twirls* I love “The Spreadsheet.” What’s everyone else up to tonight?
Sorry Tasha, that sucks… I would be royally ticked if that happened too.
Thank you for your sympathy, lol. I will laugh about it someday, but that day is not today. I almost cried. I actually worked hard today cleaning this pigsty so I’m crashing soon. But, I just started my library book,, forgetting what the story was even about and was sucker punched by this awesome 1st line: “Late one evening toward the end of March, a teenager picked up a double-barreled shotgun, walked into the forest, put the gun to someone else’s forehead, and pulled the trigger.” Beartown by Fredrik Backman
Tasha… you didn’t cry??? girl! *high five* You’re pregnant, and it was a ruined dinner, hell, I cried for you. *passes chocolate and Manny* (keeps wine and calls Robin and Amy, lol, sorry Preggo Mama… we have to keep this… Jasper can’t have the fun stuff…)
We got several inches of snow and ice yesterday, and this morning, Hubby and I went to buy deer corn–we have about 9 deer that come to our house and they were frolicking in the snow in our front yard last night and cleaned out their food trough.
So, hubby’s holding on to me as we walk across the icy/snowy parking lot, and when we get to where they threw out salt, he said, “You’ll be okay now,” and let go of me.
Then I proceeded to walk to the wrong area (because the wind was blowing and my head was down) and when he called me over to him, I stepped on what I thought was snow, but it was ice, and my feet came right out from under me and I landed on my tailbone/back. And I am SO sore ALL over. I bet tomorrow I won’t be able to move! What a klutz I am!
Thank you, Cheryl! That’s my kind of book!!!
Grey–I’m sitting on an ice pack and hoping for a miracle as I watch the Titans in the playoffs!
Yes Nay! See my pic to question #3 from Bev. *sigh Eric Decker*
OMG, Nay, you poor thing! *passes wine to Nay* you probably will be black and blue… *hugs* Yeah we got 16 inches with all the blowing plus ice; I, no joke, have no where to be until Tuesday.
And yep,we’ve been watching football today too. We have no dogs in this race, so we think it would be cool to have a Pennsylvania SuperBowl… Eagles vs. Steelers.
Go Eagles! Underdogs? Pfft!
Yeah, that’s what I said about the Titans…at first! lol
At this point, I’d LOVE for it to be a PA super bowl!
Sex, Not Love by Vi Keeland just went live early on Amazon… Anyone read this one in Arc?
I need a not-gonna-make-me-cry-or-sad-in-any-way CR to read.
Oooh Grey…that sounded like a good one.
Grey, I just one-clicked Sex, Not Love!
*whispers*
Why are we being so quiet?
Maybe everyone is nestled in their blankie fort??
Jean, I just read Mister McHottie. Pure, LOL entertainment. Did you get the bonus epilogues too? Hilarious. Great break from flat tires and angsty reads.
Without us?
Wait did Jean read It? I didn’t get a chance to tease her.
I don’t know Bev, but after the day I had yesterday, I NEEDED a book that would make me laugh. Hilarious.
3 things.
1. Just did a face mask. I love doing these recently. Putting theme on and watching or listening to something for 20 minutes and then the pat pat pat to get all the serum in.
2. I have now some how fallen into a hole of international candy on Amazon. Maybe I want to try Japanese kitkats or hard sour fizzy candy from Germany or an Australian Cherry bomb.
Someone talk some sense into me. Prime is a dangerous thing.
3. I haven’t been reading which makes me think I should change my current reads out. Maybe the new Fae one or ones I have from Maryse’s favorites list.
Hmm. See how I do that Maryse ? Potentially read from your list. Thinking Ghosted or Until it Fades. I know many like Leslie liked them…..of course you both liked Thoughtless.
Maybe I should be looking at Tasha’s list…
P.S. bev, Tasha’s list is my new TBR list 😉
I took a nap and it was blissful.
1) I took a nap today.
2) I started American Queen last night, finished it before my nap and plan to start American Prince. bad news…I don’t have American King…
3) No work tomorrow. No clue what I’m going to do with these children. Im thinking lunch and a movie.
1. I went to see the Last Jedi yesterday, Loved it. Best Star Wars movie yet. Very entertaining.
2. I saw The Greatest Showman last week. (Having a movie craze at the moment). Loved that too. I’m guessing it’s nothing like the REAL life of P.T.Barnum, but hey, it’s not meant to be realistic! The Zacster (Efron) was great, as was our very own Australian Hugh Jackman. Terrific music and very entertaining. Handled the deal with differently-abled people quite sensitively I thought.
3. OK, to complete the movie trifecta. They showed a promo/short for Darkest Hour (about WW11 and Winston Churchill), and hubs and I decided we wanna see that too. Churchill did some fairly dodgy things at times in his long career, but his actions during WW11 were courageous and right, A real leader and an actual hero. And real heroes are a bit thin on the ground, aren’t they?
1. Mister McHottie had glitter bombs in it. Made me think of Grey.
2. Re-arranged daughter’s room, after getting desk extension at Ikea.
3. Don’t have to work tomorrow. Going to look at suv’s.
Ooh. Buying a new car, Cheryl? Fun.
Three things:
1. I just went on a weird gaming binge. In the game, I made a lot of gold, but as usual, it doesn’t feel as though time went by. I think, though, it was four hours? I looked up and was all, there is a reality? *blinks*
2. I need to write actual lyrics to songs. This morning, I made up a song, full orchestra, to the wonders of jack sprat. *facepalms* Mind you, the first song I ever wrote was an ode to spring from the POV of a worm, so… Yeah, it hasn’t improved.
3. There used to be a site called Tek Tek that you could make an avatar with tons of customizations. Sadly, it was shut down because it was selling items for Second Life, and they shut it down. I got the CUTEST avatars there, and they didn’t cost anything because I don’t play Second Life. I miss it. 🙁
