HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!! It’s that awesome time again when the weekend comes around and we have all that extra reading room!! 😀
In fact, I’ve just started At This Moment (Of Love and Madness Book 1) due to the incredible recommendations I’ve received (and luckily, the trilogy is complete so I can read to my heart’s content). In fact, check out this recommendation from Susan:

But trouble was nothing new. Just ask his crazy sisters or any of his friends, and they’d be the first to tell you: If there was a bad decision to be made, Robbie always had a knack for making it. - The Hard Truth About Sunshine by Sawyer Bennett <— SAWYER BENNETT SUPER-BARGAIN & LisafromDFW LOVED it!

Am I first? Not been on here for ages and just took a peak!
Happy Friday everyone!!
Oh and Marsye, so glad you are loving At This Moment – it is amazeballs! All 3 of them are really good – and the Christmas novella!
Hi Paula!!! Yes you are first, and I’m glad you’re here and I’m glad to know you loved it, too.
I’m going to devour it today. :D!!!
As soon as I finish the new Natasha Boyd (love her!!!!), I will start At This Moment!
Good morning! So glad that you’re reading At This Moment, Maryse! I loved the first book, but I REALLY loved it after I read the 2nd and 3rd. It’s been a week and I still can’t stop thinking about it!
Happy Friday, everyone!!
Happy Friday everyone! 🙂
My reading schedule is: finishing Gentleman Nine then starting The Darkest Sunrise.
I do want to tackle At This Moment series at some point.
*tosses Friday glitter*
I’m almost done with Axel and yeah… she does cry A LOT. I was fine with it, though, because with all she went through and she’s obviously one of those that just cries when emotional. It still is making me smile, though not a WOW book, just enjoyable and a good read. 😀
Grey, how’s your power?
Happy Friday ladies!!
At This Moment… *reaches for it then cringes away*
I’m just not sure the promise of angst and turmoil is enough to overcome what I already know is going to happen. I know, I KNOW…I keep whining about it and should either shut up about it or just read it, but I’m torn.
*sigh* Either I’ll dive in today or I won’t say another word about it. 😉
Amy–it’s not just angst and turmoil. It’s ANGST and TURMOIL, especially book #2. Btw, we’re discussing why you should read it on the GR March pick-for-me thread. (I wasn’t sure what was possibly holding you back). Had to do it where we could put spoiler tags! lol
I can only think of one thing that Amy hates.
Should I say it out loud?
It’s not my favorite, but I will read it…..unless it’s the reverse. I hate that.
I’m furiously rereading the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. I’m on book 8. Then, onto the Alpha and Omega books and finally Burn Bright! Busy weekend for me!!
Also, Coda, Alexa O’Brien Huntress book 13, by Trina M Lee came out today. I love this series so much. If you are into Vampires, wolves, Angels and twin flames this book has,it all. Plus, one kickass h and all her men. It’s like a reverse harem.
Yep, bev knows what is holding me back.
I’ll jump over to GR and fill you in, Nay. 😉
ANGST and TURMOIL – I can’t wait! Glad I one-clicked At This Moment! Perfect follow-up to Atheists Who Kneel and Pray! Happy weekend everyone!
Robyn, I need to read number five? I think of the Alexa series. I do remember loving it, but forgot stuff from four so probably have to read that one first. 🙂 I do remember liking it a lot, though.
We’re good here, thanks for thinking of me, Tessa! I’m settled in for the weekend.
3 things?
1) My littlest’s birthday is this weekend, hoping the weather cooperates.
2) I want to eat everything… it may be ice cream for dinner…
3) I’m reading book 2 in the Darkest Sunrise duet.
What’s everyone else up to?
3 things:
1. Still trying to decide on my next read.
2. I’m with Amy on ATM. Maybe I’ll wait for Maryse’s review. Another thing that bothers me about the series is that it spans over twenty years.
3. Shopping today for rug for my newly painted family room. No luck so far.
Grey, I read Never Sweeter and it’s three years after the bullying. I liked it but there was just something a bit not there. I think the earlier stuff being resolved a better way would’ve worked. It was too bow tie at the end for me.
3 things
1. I love ranty Amy.
2. She mentioned Kallan…..which ….grr.
3. I’m reading and liking 2 different books. But am going to put them down to say goodbye to Healer. If I was any of you id say hold me as I say goodbye. But I’m not. So please don’t touch me.
Ps. Be prepared I may update on here.
3 things:
1. I tried on an old pair of little dude’s tennis shoes that he grew out of and they fit me perfectly. New tennies for me! lol
2. I bought my niece’s wedding gift on Saturday. It was NOT on their wishlist. 😛
3. You know how there are some books we all wish we could read for the first time again? I’ve got games like that. I wish I could play Final Fantasy X for the first time again. If it were a book, I’d be pushing it on everyone. It had PNR, angst, romance, and it MADE ME CRY! So, if you ever want to try a game… FFX. It will make you sob uncontrollably. Or they should make it a book. One that I’d force you all to read. 😛 Unless you hate crying. Then I won’t.
Finished it. Loved it. I already rewatched some scenes. Know that it is one of my favorite things this year.
I need some suggestions please.
I just got a free month of Hulu & Netflix. What can you recommend?
I saw some cool “family” movies I want to watch with my son: The Indiana Jones series & Karate Kid.
Can you believe I have never watched Gilmore Girls and Scandal??
I am excited to find something fun to watch.
I LOVE Gilmore Girls. One of my all time favorites. Strong women, quirky side characters, and amazing fast and witty dialogue.
Justified is really good. I’d marathon each new season. So we’ll acted and casted. Even the season guest actors…perfect. On the darker side, but still jas humor. One of the ones where I thought the ending was well done. One of the best…..hmm…anti bromances (?)..lol.
Heartland sweet, made family, funny, animals, and amazing scenery. I mean you will want to live in Canada.
If they have these shows. If I knew the kdramas they have I’d push you that way, lol.
Leslie – on Netflix, I really liked Embarrassing Bodies (British reality TV, got addicted), and the Frankenstein Chronicles (2 seasons – complete story – sucked me right in).
Just seeing the title Karate Kid makes me smile.
Is he old enough for the first Rocky?
The gilmore girls is one I will have to watch alone as no way the hubs (or my son) will watch. My son doesn’t like tv at all…only movies. But I am excited for it. 🙂
Not sure I could do the k-drama thing but….my library has the zombie one Maryse (and others) were watching. I will totally try that sometime. Esp as I can stream it whenever for free!!
Thanks Bev & Michelle, I am checking them all out. Heartland looks good. Unfortunately Justified is not on Netflix or Hulu. Hubs will love that medical one.
We havent watched Rocky movies but we did go see Creed when it was in theatres and my son wants to see them! We have been trying to do the older (80s/90s) movies. He loved Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Back to the Future, Superman (christopher reeve one), Kindergarten Cop, ET.
Train to Busan. Gong Yoo!
Kid of the 80s. Your bringing back my childhood here. The other day I was thinking of watching Three Amigos again.
Yes! Train to Busan! Gong Yoo is adorable. Handsome actors is what always tempt me towards watching. 😉
Bev, other good 80’s movies I want my son to watch: Big, Cocoon, Gremlins, Ghostbusters, Footloose, Goonies, Stand by Me, etc.
Sooooo many good ones.
Scandal. Once upon a time. My daughter watches Netflix almost exclusively. Doctor Who? House, MD; Dawson’s Creek, just finished names s couple.
Who didn’t want to go to FAO and jump on that piano after watching BIG.
I have problems with him now, but LOVED Top Gun when it came out.
I don’t know how many military and kickboxing movies I watched in 80s early 90s, lol.
https://youtu.be/ioWpe3hdFH0
Bev, can you believe I NEVER saw Top Gun??? *gasps*
Omg….the big piano!! I love that movie.
Grey, Once Upon a Time looks good and Scandal is on top of my list. Thanks! I watched Dawsons Creek when it originally aired (major crush on Joshua Jackson. If you have Showtime he is in awesome show called The Affair) The others aren’t available.
How did that even happen Leslie?
It feels like a staple of that time.
I also loved Look Who’s Talking. I watched that more than I should admit, lol.
You know I haven’t watched Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure since I was a kid. I should re watch it.
One day I will convert one of you to a kdrama fan. *insert evil laugh*
Leslie I’m another big BIG Fan Girl of the G-Girls that show OMG and
SOOKIE she is just just just gahhhhh I love her!!!!!!!
https://youtu.be/xq7-A9v4EJ4
…..Leslie don’t watch the link YOU must meet the SOOK in small doses at first lol
I just finished watching Only The Brave
Oh my heart *clutches chest*
https://youtu.be/EE_GY6zccqc
Maryse you HAVE to watch it!!!!
Kooloo!! Is it a movie? I should just click the link shouldn’t I? 😉
Three Things:
I have to pick my ATF book as the honouree this month from the 9 books the girls recommended
1) so I made a list on paper
2) then I made the same list on GRs
3) then I put the list into categories
Still I have not been able to pick!!!!!
Leslie–I also love Scandal.
A couple of great suspense series on Netflix are Bloodline (a continuing drama in which Kyle Chandler of Friday Night Lights stars) and Ozark (1 season so far that stars Jason Bateman)
If you like Orange is the New Black (or think you might like it), there’s a similar Aussie series that I like MUCH better called Wentworth. Unlike OITNB, it is strictly drama, no humor or sarcasm.
I also love 2 different British police mystery/dramas. One is called Happy Valley, and it’s about a female cop’s personal and professional life. There are 2 seasons of a continuing drama. The other is Broadchurch, and it’s about a male and female cop who are partners. It has 3 seasons, and each one is about a different mystery/case that has to be solved.
If you like cooking competitions, The Great British Bake Off is wonderful! There’s no stupid drama like we have on U.S. shows, just people who love to bake and support each other. (For some reason they have it listed under the Great British Baking Show–I think it was called that the first season).
Oh, and one of my favorite shows ever–Offspring. It’s an Aussie drama about an female OB/Gyn and her family. It’s funny, romantic, angsty–a great drama/romcom combined.
Nay, I watched the first season of the Name Off on YouTube a couple years ago. Really enjoyed it.
Leslie!! The Graham Norton Show! I used to be able to watch it and still hit up YouTube videos. I know I posted this before but it just makes me laugh.
https://youtu.be/5GwRis0CZhQ
Leslie, Stranger Things!! Especially if you’re ready for your son to get into Goonies and stuff like that, totally has that feel. Parenthood is good too. New Girl. Riverdale. Breaking Bad, Good Witch, The Good Place…
I just recently watched Sleepless in Seattle for the first time. It was pretty good, though there was a lot of build up for just a bunch of staring. :/ I was disappointed in the end.
Maryse its the trailer to the movie on YouTube
It’s the true story of the hot shot firefighters
So many stars in this one too
Tasha!!!! Good one YES Leslie check out Stanger Things
Maryse I sent you the link to the movie
If anyone else wants it just PM on GRs
I want to watch Stranger Things. It looks so good. Riverdale keeps tempting me, but I’m not sure. I was never an Archie fan.
I have to confess. I don’t like Top Gun. I watched it when I was about ten and thought it was too much a boy show with planes, fighting, and boys being stupid. (I was TEN!) I tried later but it’s permanently ruined from that.
Also, I hate Goonies. It was on TV when I was young, and I saw the hand go in the blender and SCARRED FOR LIFE. lol I started making up all sorts of scenarios. The thing was still plugged in and I go to get something out of the blade, lean on it, and it turns on. It becomes possessed and churns away and chases me until it grabs my hand and slowly grinds my hand and arms away. *points* This is why I don’t watch scary movies! I still freak out cleaning the blade on those things.
*shakes it off* Alright, that said, I just FINALLY watched Avengers and it made me so happy. The story was good, and even if it wasn’t, Chris Hemsworth. 😀
Maryse, are you enjoying “At this Moment” I am soo jealous of you reading that for the first time.
I just finished “ From Lukov with Love” and I really enjoyed it. Although I was disappointed at the end. It just wasn’t enough. It seemed to end very quickly. Just at the peak of the book 95% and bam it’s over.
I didn’t know you guys get Wentworth and Offspring. Do you get “ packed to the Rafters” too.
Another one to get on Netflix Leslie is “suits” it has Megan Markle who is marrying Prince Harry from the UK. It’s reslly good. Riverdale is really good. The kids might like “ Cheaper by the dozen” also Nanny Mc fee, “ Beauty and the Beast” . I loved that.
I can see why you don’t like him, Tessa. I had no real knowledge of the show prior to starting so it worked for me. I like Veronica and Cheryl, Jughead and FP, Betty’s crazy Mom and all the mystery. They made a joke once about being the “Scooby gang” and I was like, ah hah! This is why I’m so into it. Lol
But, Goonies?! *sniffs* I’m sad for you…but Stranger Things is not Goonies either. Just gave the vibe. 😉
My childhood trauma movie was, hands down, Pet Sematary. You couldn’t pay me to watch that again. I remember a year or so ago, I bought my son a backpack “leash” Bc I was so freaked by how careless he was and wild and I kept having panic attacks picturing Gage chasing after that damn balloon! And that wasn’t even close to the worst part of the movie!! *shudders*
Nay, Offspring looks good, but that’s a lot of seasons to catch up on.
I don’t watch a lot of tv, but my daughter does. I know she does watch Riverdale- it is an updated teens show and Stranger Things. She also likes anything Marvel Universe- so Jessica Jones, Agents of SHIELD, Legion, Daredevil, Luke Cage. We also started watching Mr. Robot together- it is very strange and iZombie.
Hey, know what doesn’t have a lot of seasons to catch up on?
Kdramas.
Just saying.
🙂 Thanks Tasha. I think I’ll love Stranger Things. Then again, I’ll watch Supernatural even if it does give me nightmares just for Dean. Like, I couldn’t sleep for a month after watching the Bloody Mary episode. *shudders*
I actually had no issues with Tom Cruise at the time. I was a kid. I LOVED Cocktail, but my mind was made up that Top Gun was a boy movie and that I’d hate it. lol Not that I was stubborn or anything…
Ok bev
I’ll give it a go
What’s your fav because I just don’t where to start lol
Kooloo! Really?? Do you know how looong it usually takes me to convince someone around here?
Yay!
Uh-oh. I feel like Amy should still be my favorite since she is still healing…..BUT ……hehehe.
Ok. Healer is my jam right now. I’m obsessed. I just finished it and still keep going back.
I don’t know if Hulu or Netflix has it. But you should be able to watch for free on Drama Fever or Viki. I use both. And they are legal. Lol. If you have to pay then skip.
And it is Healer a Korean drama NOT The Healer on TLC.
https://www.google.com/search?q=healer&oq=heal&aqs=chrome.0.69i59j69i60j69i59j69i65l2j69i57.1975j0j7&client=ms-android-uscellular-us&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8
I’m so happy. I hope you like it.
Melinda–we don’t get Packed to the Rafters, but I’ve watched part of the first season. Just couldn’t get into it for some reason.
Cheryl, I think the first and second season were the best from memory.
Asher Keddie, won leading actress tv, for best Actor in Australia in the first 2 years. But I think they have actually stopped the series now.
Watching first epi now bev
Night ladies *muah*
Yay! Have a good night Kooloo. Please come back tomorrow and update. I know the first ep is a lot of set up and introductions.
I tempted to re watch it.
Let it go, bev. Let it go.
*clears throat*
I’ll have you know, bev, that I downloaded the Viki app onto my iPad and I have the first episode ready to go. I would have watched it today except I got a little happy with my cleaning today and overdid it and then fell asleep for several hours. But my bathrooms are SPARKLY CLEAN!! 😀
I’m watching the first episode tomorrow. For sure.
Wait. What’s this Viki app and clean sparkling houses??? I WANT THAT!!!!!
*happy claps*
Like i said the first ep has a lot of set up.
Hey, don’t over do it.
So, I still annoy my family from time to time, shooting a name outta nowhere here and there to see if there have been any changes…this morning I said to my son ‘how about Milo?’ Mase and Milo…I think it’s cute, but he said ‘no, he’s orange, it’s Jasper’. We’ve never actually watched Milo and Otis, so I dk where he got that or if Milo is even the cat, but it confirmed my small fear of him being compared to that so it’s shelved for now. Lol. And then, just now I though Fisher? Fish is a cute and odd nickname and I like it so I asked what he thought and he obviously loves it!! My shark loving boy says ‘yeah! Then he can catch a huge great white shark!! And then he’ll eat your baby and you’ll be mad….’ :/ I’m not sure I’m shelving it yet though, lol!
LOL!!! They aren’t related Maryse, but my bathrooms are sparkly clean because I went a little crazy cleaning them instead of watching bev’s K-drama on the Viki app.
