BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!!! Erin Watt’s Twisted Palace: The Royals JUST WENT LIVE!! ➔➔➔➔➔➔➔➔

<— OH YESSSSSSS!!! JUST WENT LIVE & I ONE-CLICKED IT SO HARD!!!!! Black Swan Affair is that crazy sounding one that I posted about a few days ago. So you can bet this is what I’m reading now!!!

“He was always meant to be mine. He came back, all right. But instead of smelling of promises, he stunk of betrayal. And he destroyed me—us—the day he married my sister instead of me.

So I did the only thing a girl like me in my position could do.

I got my revenge. I married his brother, Kael.

Now we’re one big happy f*cking family.”

Tee hee!!!! OH YOU KNOW this is gonna be fun!!! BRING IT!!! :P

Sarah: I just finished and it was excellent. Actually left me speechless

Maryse:  I LOVE speechless!!! I wanna be speechless too! :D

Sarah:  Still speechless. How can I write a review. “Wanna be speechless too? Read this book.”

Stephanie: Oh I can’t wait to read!!

Nancy: Omg. I just bought ANOTHER book. To add to the ridiculous pile I already can’t read. I need an intervention.

Rebecca: I am going to read this!!!!!!!

Sharon: Oh yeah . . . Right up my alley!

Angie: …Can’t wait it’s going to be a hot mess

Look at what else just went live!! P.S. NO JOKE… I want to read every book on this list right now.

  1. Black Swan Affair by K.L. Krieg <— LIVE!!! WHAT I’M READING NOW!!
  2. Twisted Palace: The Royals by Erin Watt <— LIVE!!! (I LOVED book #1 and now can catchup!! Here is my review of Paper Princess).
  3. Royally Screwed (The Royally Series Book 1) by Emma Chase <— ALSO JUST WENT LIVE!!! HE’S AN ARROGANT PRINCE & SHE’S A NO-NONSENSE “COMMONER” WAITRESS… and there’s the whole paparazzi deal!!! AH IT SOUNDS SO GOOD!!! He’s “…wickedly charming, devastatingly handsome, and unabashedly arrogant―hard not to be when people are constantly bowing down to you. Then, one snowy night in Manhattan, the prince meets a dark haired beauty who doesn’t bow down. Instead, she throws a pie in his face…” AND THEN!!! “…Dating a prince isn’t what waitress Olivia Hammond ever imagined it would be. There’s a disapproving queen, a wildly inappropriate spare heir, relentless paparazzi, and brutal public scrutiny…
  4. The Sexy One by Lauren Blakely <— LAUREN BLAKELY JUST WENT LIVE EARLY ALERT!!! HE’S A SINGLE FATHER & SHE’S HIS NANNY…My boss, the amazingly wonderful single father to the girl I take care of every day is ridiculously hot, like movie star levels with those arms, and those eyes, and that body. Not to mention, the way he dotes on his little girl melts me all over…
  5. The Promise by Melody Grace <— TEARJERKER JUST WENT LIVE!!! Oh boy this blurb!!!!!!! My heart already aches…Perfect for fans of ‘Me Before You’ and ‘The Fault in Our Stars’, ‘The Promise’ brings together two people searching for a love that can overcome tragedy. A heartbreakingly romantic novel that challenges us to live – and love – every day as if it were our last.”
  6. Sweetly, Deeply, Absolutely (Sweet Love) by Kira Archer <— LIVE!! THE HOTTEST GUY IN THE CLUB LANDS IN HER LAP ALERT!With a month off from culinary school, Jenny Boyd has some serious party plans. Especially when the hottest guy in the club literally lands in her lap. He’s 6’2” of cocky, sexy, man-candy, and just as commitment-phobic as she is…” (and it can be read as a standalone)
  7. The Right Kind of Guy (What Happens in Vegas) by Kerri-Leigh Grady <— LIVE!! AUTHOR IS AT A BOOK SIGNING & MEETS HER SUPER-FAN’S ALPHAHOLE BROTHER ALERT! Tee hee!! This sounds just WAY TOO FUN!!!Romance novelist Kelsey Spencer doesn’t believe in love, and she’s tired of faking her way through happily ever afters. Determined to change things up, she heads to the Las Vegas Romance Lovers Convention. But somewhere between half-naked cover models and hot Navy SEALs, Kelsey’s plans derail… Especially once she meets über-fan Jasmine Grant…and Jasmine’s über-hot alphahole brother, Aaron...”
  8. Behind Closed Doors by Lisa Renee Jones <— NEW LISA RENEE JONES BOOK JUST WENT LIVE!!! I LOVE the premise!! She tries her hand at “auction-hunting” to make extra money, and comes across a valuable poker chip… and now a famous poker player is a little upset… And there’s been a bit of confusion on whether this is a new book or a re-release. This is a NEW STORY (not a re-release) and the author gives us some info right here. She says: “It started as a free short story on the Storage War auctioneers site and then I expanded it to 85k. It stands alone but it does has some clues in it for my Careless Whispers readers...” and it’s “…a brand new gripping and provocative novel that ties into her bestselling Careless Whispers and Inside Out series. You can enjoy this as a standalone, but fans of Careless Whispers and Inside Out will get an exciting glimpse of who Ella really is and some of the secrets she’s been hiding from everyone she knows…”
  9. Three Simple Words (Kingston Ale House) by A.J. Pine <— JUST WENT LIVE!!! SHE’S A BOOK BLOGGER & HAS A BOOK STORE & SHE HATED HIS BOOK…I know where to find my happily ever after—between the pages of a romance novel. It’s why I sell books, why I blog about them, and why I’ll never get disappointed by love.  So what if my brother’s best friend from high school is now a bestselling author? Or that he just blew back into town on a Harley, filling out a pair of jeans like he never did before? Or that he’s agreed to do a signing at my bookstore on such short notice? Because despite all his adoring female fans, I kind of hated his book…” (YAY!!! I love the sound of this one too, and it can be read as a standalone)
  10. Savior (First to Fight Book 4) by Nicole Blanchard <— NEW STANDALONE & SHE’S IN HIDING ALERT & THE COP THAT HELPS HER!! ”I lost everything when I testified against my fiancé for the murders of five women. After the jury delivered a life sentence, I ran. I hoped if I could disappear, maybe the horror he caused would, too. When I return to Florida for the first time after his conviction, I’m determined to face my fears and get my life back. Then, a woman is murdered and I’m the only one who believes her death features the same signature as those I’m trying so hard to forget...”
  11. Chasing the High by Beth Michele <— LIVE! M/M ROMANCE ALERT!! HIS FIANCÉ LEFT HIM AT THE ALTAR…What better place to be alone while nursing my broken heart than in paradise, right? Two weeks of sandy beaches and tranquil waters to quietly rethink my life. That’s what I thought anyway–until Drew Mariano came along and shook everything up. He shook me up. He made me forget myself. And that was good. He made me want to take chances. And that was hard. He made me feel high on life. And that was amazing. But I was afraid…the higher I got… the harder I was going to fall…
  12. 27 Lies: Luke’s story (The Truth About Love) by MJ Fields <— LIVE!!! And OH WOW I dunno if I should have read that blurb, ’cause this is the sequel (or HIS POV), but WOW. Blurb jolt for sure!!! I skimmed a review and this main character (hero?) is supposedly the ULTIMATE JERK. YAY!!!! Don’t read further if you haven’t read book #1 (which is here ➔ 27 Truths: Ava’s story (The Truth About Love Book 1) but… here’s a snippet from this synopsis: “One bad dream, one I love you, one night of pushing her the hell out of my life, one drummer stealing her heart, and one explosion took everything away. Lies are told. Lies are unraveling. Lies are going to destroy. These are my truths...”
  13. Belonging by Shiloh Walker <— LIVE! NEW VAMPIRE BOOK ALERT!Being a vampire can suck. Corinne Lewis will be the first to testify to that. She went through the “change” but it certainly didn’t change her all that much. Still shy, quiet and a wallflower, she doesn’t fit in with the rest of the vampires or other paranormal creatures at Excelsior, the school that trains the elite Hunters…
  14. Take Me With You by Nina G. Jones <— JUST WENT LIVE AND OMG DARK READ ALERT!!!!! PSYCH-THRILLER?? He’s stalking her… and then he takes her. “It’s just my imagination—that feeling of being watched. That those icy eyes— a vivid turquoise with a distinct golden fleck—aren’t watching me. It’s just stress. I am the person everyone relies on. Maybe that’s why I haven’t been feeling so content with my life lately. Why I dream those eyes belong to someone who can tear me away from all of my responsibilities. But these are just shameful fantasies, never meant to breach reality. Then one night, the dream comes true, only it’s a horrific nightmare. Now, I only have one task: survival.
  15. Hat Trick by Kristen Hope Mazzola <— LIVE!!! HOCKEY STAR ALERT!Isn’t it funny how guys hit on you when they know you’re not available, but when you’re single they won’t give you the freaking time of day? I guess the game is more fun that way. And for the captain of my brother’s team, that’s exactly what I was. A hat trick is three goals in hockey…
  16. Wake to Dream by Lily White <— JUST WENT LIVE!!! LILY WHITE DARK READ PSYCH-THRILLER ALERT!!!Plagued by sleep disorders since her childhood, Alice had grown accustomed to the nightly dreams that terrorized her. She woke up in strange places. She was paralyzed by fear and hallucinations. She screamed each night at unseen specters and evil faces. When her sister, Delilah, goes missing, Alice’s dreams take on new meaning...”

Leslie M October 17, 2016 at 8:58 AM

Wow!! This sounds really exciting…know if it’s a standalone??

Lisa Aiello October 17, 2016 at 9:21 AM

Just gotta mention – Away From The Dark (Book 2 of Into the Light Series) by Aleatha Romig comes out tomorrow. I have my preorder, and am squeeeeeeeing with delight and rereading Into the Light in preparation today. I can hardly wait until midnight for it to load on my Kindle!!! And I also have 27 Truths on my Kindle and 27 Lies just loaded last night….wheeeeeeee!!! And darn it if all those books up there look like must haves also!!!

bev October 17, 2016 at 9:21 AM

That sounds horrible. Lol.
Also nothing like Flowers from the Storm. ;)

Lisa Aiello October 17, 2016 at 9:23 AM

Well Dagnabbit – I just one clicked Black Swan Affair and The Promise!!!! And I put a couple others on my “I NEEEEEED this too list”.

Maryse October 17, 2016 at 9:27 AM

Thank you LISA!!! I’m adding it now! :D

Maryse October 17, 2016 at 9:28 AM

LOL bev!!!! You crack me up!!!! :P

Maryse October 17, 2016 at 9:28 AM

Leslie M… very good question… I’ll investigate.

R. Renee October 17, 2016 at 9:59 AM

The Promise isn’t actually a death book, right? Per the blurb, it seems like an “after” death book?

Lisa Aiello October 17, 2016 at 10:40 AM

R – it sounds to me like the MC is working to complete her already deceased friend’s bucket list and meets someone who changes her life….and I think I just melted a little already!!

R. Renee October 17, 2016 at 10:41 AM

I think I might need that one!

Leslie M October 17, 2016 at 12:57 PM

I got the scoop on Black Sean Affair. When the author was asked if it is a standalone, here is her response:

“Well…..yes. It was intended to be. I may write about another character in the book however in the future. We’ll see.”

I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a crazy cliffhanger and that we’d be waiting forever for sequels. I hate that.

Gotta one click this one! Its gonna be emotional, but I can’t resist this love triangle.

Leslie M October 17, 2016 at 12:58 PM

Sorry…Black SWAN (not sean, wtf autocorrect???) Affair.

Ela October 17, 2016 at 1:01 PM

CHEATING BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOO HOOO!!! TORRID AFFAIR WAS OK, NOT THE BEST BUT NOT THE WORST EITHER…..

IS Emma’s book a stand alone???? And ALL those other ones with numbers next to them *grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr*

Ela October 17, 2016 at 1:02 PM

Oh WHO CARES….SEAN SWAN????? IT’S GOT THE WORD AFFAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leslie M October 17, 2016 at 1:15 PM

I know Ela, Black SWAN Affair has me all excited too. I like the sound of the reviews on GR.

Three Simple Words looks awesome!! That cover!!! *fans self*

and The Sexy One has piqued my interest.

Amy October 17, 2016 at 1:33 PM

Oh geez, I’ve been waiting for Black Swan Affair but wasn’t paying attention to when it came out. And now I’m supposed to be in a BR for The Bronze Horseman.

And I’m almost positive I have 27 Truths, so of course I want 27 Lies.

Ummm, TBH may have to wait. BSA is just begging to be read. Excuse me while I go and hide from bev…

Brooke October 17, 2016 at 1:34 PM

Twisted Palace (The Royals Book 3) also released today!

Maryse October 17, 2016 at 2:02 PM

Oooooh thank you Brooke!!!! I’m adding it! :D

Cristina October 17, 2016 at 2:45 PM

What a FANTASTIC list this week!! I’m starting with Black Swan Affair! Gut me please!!! Not too mention Emma Chase’s new book Royally Screwed is now LIVE?!?! This would be the perfect follow-up to an angsty affair book! Emma Chase is a one-click author for me! Oh happy day!!!! *twirling* *dances in kitchen* *fist pump in the air* :-)

Maryse October 17, 2016 at 2:49 PM

Now I’m fighting myself between two books: Black Swan Affair and Royally Screwed (and of course, catching up with/finishing The Royals)…

Grey October 17, 2016 at 2:50 PM

BSA…I want it…but I spent my book allowance already. *pout*

Ela October 17, 2016 at 2:52 PM

Ah sh$t….The Bronze horsemanBR…….3 books at once???

Leslie M October 17, 2016 at 2:57 PM

Oooh, ooh, I forgot about Royally Screwed too! I’ve been waiting for that one. Well, I’m doing Bronze Horseman buddy read cause I DON’T BACK OUT like some people *cough, Amy*.

Of course I do reserve the right to DNF if BH starts to get sucky, but I don’t think that will happen.

Cristina October 17, 2016 at 2:57 PM

Maryse, choose Black Swan Affair!!! We can buddy read this time!! It looks SOOOOO good!

Ela October 17, 2016 at 3:33 PM

Well I guess I can’t be chicken sh^t either…I ain’t no backer upper….

Amy October 17, 2016 at 4:04 PM

*whistles and looks around innocently*

Tessa October 17, 2016 at 4:20 PM

Ack! I though twisted palave wasnt sypposed to come out until next month! Well crap. It will be read next month anyway. I have it as one of my 3 books to read during NANOWRIMO.

Fabi October 17, 2016 at 4:28 PM

BSA sounds wickedly good.

I like that MM you have posted up there too. Another couple of MM that were supposed to come today but hit the shelves a couple of days early are Bluewater Blues by G.B. Gordon and Friendly Fire by Cari Z.

I’m reading Friendly Fire right now and it is really good.

Jan October 17, 2016 at 4:41 PM

Great list again Maryse. How’s a girl sposed to keep up? LOL.

I don’t think I’ll be reading Hot For Teacher anthology, but the title made me giggle. And that Three Simple Words cover is HOT! Can’t touch this! I usually don’t like anonymous muscled torsos as book covers, but that one up there, sheesh!

Teri W October 17, 2016 at 5:06 PM

Another series by Emma Chase! Yayyyy….

Jan October 17, 2016 at 5:07 PM

Royally Screwed is mine. I liked some of Chase’s other books e.g. Sustained and this one looks promising :D

Maryse October 17, 2016 at 5:16 PM

I’m choosing Black Swan Affair Cristina!!! Reading it tonight!!!!! Absolutely, no two ways about it!

Maryse October 17, 2016 at 5:18 PM

*whistles innocently next to Amy, side-eyeing Grey…*

*whoops* :P

Sharon October 17, 2016 at 5:52 PM

Monday’s are just as good as Tuesday’s! So many to choose, so little time to read them all.

Amy October 17, 2016 at 5:53 PM

*holds back flap of BSA blankie fort*

*frantically waves in Maryse and Jean*

You get in here too, Cristina! This fort isn’t just for BR ditchers… ;)

Fabi October 17, 2016 at 5:56 PM

Maybe Bev wants to squirrel to BSA too. Even I’m tempted.
*must resist must…*

Amy October 17, 2016 at 5:56 PM

Sharon, right?? At least you’re in good company here!

Amy October 17, 2016 at 5:58 PM

Come on Fabi…you know you wanna… :P

Grey October 17, 2016 at 6:09 PM

I totes would Maryse, trust me, I want to. But I’m broke haha! Gah, you’re killing me!

Tessa October 17, 2016 at 7:05 PM

*high fives Grey* Welcome to the broke club. I want BSA and Twisted Palace so bad. I spent my book allowance on a new blanket. Lol It’s warm, puffy, and soft, so it’s so worth it.

bev October 17, 2016 at 7:22 PM

Amy. And. Jean.

You can not hide that well.
Jean you already backed out once.
Amy you already reneged on are Sherlock/Bates agreement.

Lisa October 17, 2016 at 7:27 PM

Thanks for another too tempting list Maryse. A few on there for me!

Going to give Emna Chase another go after I stuffed her Sustained series in my ‘Pandora’s Box’ kindle file. See…..I can be forgiving!

bev October 17, 2016 at 7:31 PM

I’m going off to GR to pout and read with my real book buddies.
And oh I hold a grudge.

Cheryl October 17, 2016 at 8:02 PM

WHAT. A. LIST!!!! One-click Black Swan Affair.

Grabs Amy and Jean and runs into the re-vamped blankie fort using HP Invisibility cloak. * shh, Bev can’t see us*

Fabi October 17, 2016 at 8:14 PM

Would please keep the feedback loop rolling on BSA? I’m only a few shout outs away from squirreling to it. But it has to be good!!!

R. Aren’t you even tempted?

Maryse October 17, 2016 at 8:23 PM

I hate “killing” Grey. It’s just not in me.

*snuggles Grey*

Maryse October 17, 2016 at 8:24 PM

LOL Lisa!

Screwed sounds SO good. I can already “feel” it from the blurb alone.

Maryse October 17, 2016 at 8:28 PM

Should I drag Grey into our blankie fort (and bev??) even though it’s for us that have reneged?

They need our cuddles. I’m scared bev might bite us, though. So maybe don’t cuddle her too close. :P

R. Renee October 17, 2016 at 8:35 PM

Fabi after a few of Bibi’s status updates on GR it didn’t sound like it was for me, but other than hers, I can’t find a bad review! I’m curious, but not enough to jump in. I want to see what you guys think first!

bev October 17, 2016 at 8:50 PM

No biting. Fredo’s kiss.

So, R. Bibi didn’t like it?

R. Renee October 17, 2016 at 8:58 PM

I think she DNF’d it bev, but based on other people’s reviews, I think she had specific issues with it.

Amy October 17, 2016 at 8:58 PM

“Screwed sounds SO good. I can already “feel” it from the blurb alone.”

*covers mouth*

Maryse October 17, 2016 at 8:59 PM

Are you talking about The Bronze Horseman?????????

Because please please PLEASE do yourself a favor. THAT BOOK IS a CLASSIC in awesome epic, tragic, poignant, beautifully written, difficult life beyond what we can imagine… romances.

Maryse October 17, 2016 at 9:00 PM

*shoves Manny’s flipper in Amy’s mouth* < — albeit GENTLY. ;)

Maryse October 17, 2016 at 9:01 PM

what’s a Fredo’s kiss?

Amy October 17, 2016 at 9:11 PM

Pbbllttt!! BLECH!!!

Ewwwww Maryse!! LOL!!!

bev October 17, 2016 at 9:14 PM

I think R means she dnf’d Black Swan Affair.

But I’m sure it’s as good as the last affair book Amy had Jean read.

bev October 17, 2016 at 9:15 PM
R. Renee October 17, 2016 at 9:15 PM

No Maryse, I was talking about Black Swan, that I wanted to see what you guys think first.

R. Renee October 17, 2016 at 9:16 PM

No I didn’t DNF it, someone I follow on GR did. (Black Swan)

R. Renee October 17, 2016 at 9:19 PM

But dang what an endorsement Maryse!! I think I might have to jump on that! (TBH)

Amy October 17, 2016 at 9:24 PM

bevvvvvvvvvv…don’t go! I’m still your buddy, I’m just a crappy buddy-reading buddy!!

And guys? Black Swan Affair? If the prologue and first chapter are any indication, this one is gonna be all kinds of tummy-twisting fun. :D

Amy October 17, 2016 at 9:28 PM

Really, bev? That was low…

*shakes head*

bev October 17, 2016 at 9:31 PM

I’m sorry I can’t hear you …..I’m in Russia.

Amy October 17, 2016 at 9:32 PM

I meant about the Jean comment.

Now, Fredo’s kiss? That was pretty good. ;)

Amy October 17, 2016 at 9:33 PM

I’ll just send a message by black swan courier.

Amy October 17, 2016 at 9:33 PM

Send it to Russia, with love.

bev October 17, 2016 at 9:39 PM

R, tell me about this Bibi. Does she watch Sherlock? Like the name Simon? Know who Judy Dench is?

R. Renee October 17, 2016 at 9:42 PM

All I know about her is that she loves Suanne Laqueur and Emma Scott, so clearly she’s brilliant.

Lisa October 17, 2016 at 9:48 PM

Bev you’re so funny. Looking for new friends eh? You know Id BR TBH with you if I hadn’t already read it. Its a monolithic epic.

Maryse October 17, 2016 at 9:58 PM

LOL bev, I swear if I had been drinking something, it would have come through my nose after reading your comment.

*in Russia*

So lucky.

Maryse October 17, 2016 at 9:59 PM

And I too, am enjoying Black Swan Affair so far… :D

Maryse October 17, 2016 at 10:00 PM

I like her name. :)

Bibi. It was the name of my cat. I miss my Bibi.

Maryse October 17, 2016 at 10:00 PM

R… and Bibi… you need to buddy read Bronze Horseman with bev STAT!

R. Renee October 17, 2016 at 10:12 PM

I would but I have 35% left of Hausfrau, the 3 Thoughtless books, and Rainfall!! I’m looking at 2018 for TBH! :-/

We need to get Bibi on here! She’s a hoot.

bev October 17, 2016 at 10:17 PM

Oh, Hausfrau. We know where that came from.

Lisa, I know YOU would.

Cheryl October 17, 2016 at 10:44 PM

OMG, hilarious!! Здравствуйте Bev! :>

Prologue and chapter one have me intrigued, although h could easily become a whiner.

Lisa October 17, 2016 at 10:49 PM

Yes! Get Bibi on here! Bev needs a buddy for TBH.

R. Renee October 17, 2016 at 10:51 PM

I PM’d her. She’s in Nigeria though. It’s almost 5am there!

Amy October 17, 2016 at 11:01 PM

You want to see something really hilarious? Check out the rec Bev sent me on GR. I literally busted out laughing when I saw it.

R. Renee October 17, 2016 at 11:04 PM

I just got her back for you Amy ;)

R. Renee October 17, 2016 at 11:05 PM

So I’m on Amazon looking at the blurb for The Bronze Horseman and this:
“…Called “a Russian Thorn Birds.” Uh!!! Hello???? Sold. But not this second :(

bev, you have the paper back. Is it ridiculously heavy?

bev October 17, 2016 at 11:26 PM

Ha. That is actually a book I’ve already read. Lol.

bev October 17, 2016 at 11:27 PM

I have Leslie & Ela.

Thems my buddies.

R. Renee October 17, 2016 at 11:32 PM

If I weren’t backed up, I’d join you guys, but I’m having a hard time finding time to read!

bev October 17, 2016 at 11:36 PM

Cheryl, what does that mean?

Lisa October 18, 2016 at 2:18 AM

Try prunes R. I hear they can help when you’re ‘backed up’ *snickers*

Sheniqua October 18, 2016 at 2:25 AM

R. Renee. I, who was formerly Bibi but shall henceforth be addressed as Sha-nee-ku-aa, am here.
Firstly, you guys are hilarious! Secondly, can I, join the blankie camp *glances at the non-blankies with wide-eyed pity*

Julie o October 18, 2016 at 4:59 AM

Am halfway thru Black Swan and am loving it!
Read some good ones lately:
Patchwhore was great and funny but ended too abruptly. Didn’t even know his name but definitely thought he was a keeper.
Behind Closed Doors: loved it.
A Pound Of Flesh: really enjoyed how well the characters were thought out. Will definitely read sequel.
The Tutor: interesting theme, enjoyable, pick up and put downable

Nay October 18, 2016 at 5:51 AM

I hate that I missed out all day yesterday–I’m celebrating having all of those horrid tests out of the way by starting Black Swan Affair NOW! That’s my kind of book! I’ll start the Amelia Hutchins Fae book after that–Playing with Monsters sounds awesome, but I have to finish Seducing Destiny first and for some reason, I’m having trouble getting through that book. Whatever! I’m one-clicking BSA!

Lisa October 18, 2016 at 6:51 AM

Thought I would give Patchwhore a go Julie O. Thanks for the feedback.

bev October 18, 2016 at 7:15 AM

Lisa, your a poet.

*kicks black swan affair*

bev October 18, 2016 at 7:17 AM

Sheniqua, do you keep your buddy read promise?

Lisa Aiello October 18, 2016 at 7:47 AM

I so want to join in reading Black Swan Affair….but I HAVE to get through Away From The Dark. I spent yesterday rereading Into The Light in preparation…and I’ve been waiting like a month for the preorder to drop…but then I’m all over Black Swan Affair (and then Letter to Whiskey, cuz that sounds AMAZEBALLS). So much reading, so little time. It’s a shame I was born beautiful instead of rich so I have to actually work….LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!

Jean October 18, 2016 at 8:13 AM

I wasn’t hiding last night (from bev)…..seriously. I’ve been sucked in by the Black Swan Affair! I am loving it and have no idea where it’s going…..unputdownable for me and now stupid work is getting in the way!

Bev, will you please forgive me? I’m usually not as bad as Amy with ditching the BRs! Lol! (Sorry Amy, trying to redirect bev’s anger towards you)!

R. Renee October 18, 2016 at 8:24 AM

OMG I did it again. I’m a little behind! Is that better? No? I’ve FALLEN behind. There! Welcome Sheniqua! bev will let you in the blankie fort if you read The Bronze Horseman with her!

R. Renee October 18, 2016 at 8:25 AM

Welcome back Nay! Glad you’re through the tests!

bev October 18, 2016 at 8:37 AM

I’m not going in that fort.
Neither is Leslie.
It’s the death book club fort.

bev October 18, 2016 at 8:39 AM

Nay I’m happy you are done with your tests. Celebrate away.

Ela October 18, 2016 at 9:24 AM

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, bev my darling did the BR of TBH commence???? I’m seeing some disconcert among the BR negators (I don’t care if that’s not a word)!!! DANGIT BSA LOOKS SO GOOD….AND IT’S CHEATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*side eyes bev*

Nay October 18, 2016 at 9:32 AM

Thanks R and Bev! I had the equivalent of a phillips screwdriver shoved into my carotid and all the way to my heart WITHOUT being asleep, sedated, etc. (My cardiologist said, “oh, it might be bit uncomfortable, but you’ll do fine without a sedative.” but, of course, he’s never had a right heart cath done!) Anyway, I have to take it easy today so that my neck doesn’t spring a geyser, so it’s the perfect excuse for me to do nothing but read!

R. Renee October 18, 2016 at 9:33 AM

Good lord, Nay! Did you tell him you can’t even read certain books without a sedative??!!

Nay October 18, 2016 at 9:35 AM

I know! I have to get six of these things done during the first 2 mos after my transplant and I told him to knock me out from now on! Geesh!

bev October 18, 2016 at 9:37 AM

Ela, yes!! Slow start, hopefully pick up more time with it, but Leslie and I have started commenting in the Maryse GR Group. We both are around 11%. Come over, please.

bev October 18, 2016 at 9:37 AM

Whoa, Nay. Brave lady.

Jean October 18, 2016 at 9:38 AM

Ahhhh Nay……hope you’re feeling OK! That does not sound fun at all!

Ummmm…..I see bev’s not talking to me……*sigh* I’m gonna start TBH next!

Ela October 18, 2016 at 9:47 AM

Nay October 18, 2016 at 10:17 AM

Hi Ela! I’m just glad it’s over now! The hospital doctors/admin are all having the ‘big meeting’ today to get me ‘on the list’ then after that, I could go at any time. So if I disappear out of nowhere for a week or two, you know that’s where I am and that I’ll be back!

I’m just going to try to get swept away in my books and with my book friends and not think about it too much because at this point, although I’m excited, I’m scared sh#%less! Thanks so much for all your kind words! It really does help!!

Maryse October 18, 2016 at 12:41 PM

*snuggles Nay*

We’re so glad you’re with us Nay. :D <3

Cristina October 18, 2016 at 2:06 PM

I’m about 53% into Black Swan Affair and loving it!! But I’m biting my nails wondering how this is going to end? Right now, this story has the potential to be predictable or completely mind-blowing!! I’m wondering where the author is going to take this story?! Oh the angst and anxiety!! I’d be done with it by now if my stinking job would quit getting in the way!!

Back to Black Swan Affair…. ;-)

Jean October 18, 2016 at 2:26 PM

Omg Cristina! I’m only at 40%, but not sure where this could go! You’re right, it’s either going to blow our minds or be predictable. I hope it blows our minds!

bev October 18, 2016 at 3:18 PM

It’s totally going to be predictable.

Jean October 18, 2016 at 3:21 PM

Ah bev, I love you girl!

R. Renee October 18, 2016 at 3:32 PM

I finished Hausfrau. Going to throw myself in front of a train now. Or shoot tequila. My options are endless.

Jean October 18, 2016 at 3:37 PM

Ummmm……R, does that mean you didn’t like it?

R. Renee October 18, 2016 at 3:45 PM

No I loved it! It’s the story of one woman’s downward spiral and it’s very depressing. The writing and storytelling are top notch–which for me can be everything! But yeah, train…

Tessa October 18, 2016 at 3:56 PM

Nay, uh… *hugs* Just *hugs* Yeah, sedate next time. Heart surgery shouldnt be awake. Just nope!

Jan October 18, 2016 at 4:49 PM

Nay, hope the new shiny books make a fine distraction for you. *hugs Nay*

Hello Sheniqua. Welcome. Love the jazzy name. Watch out for that blanky fort. Halloween’s a-comin’, and I’ve heard there’s creepy things in thar……. :0

Nay October 18, 2016 at 5:17 PM

Although I’m loving it too, I think BSA is going to be predictable. I’ve only been able to get to 20%, but I think I have it figured out. Still think it will be a good (and maybe even great) read; the things of life are just making it difficult for me to get into it, not the writing.

Leslie M October 18, 2016 at 5:41 PM

Nay, glad you are ok, but am mad at your Doc. That’s like a male OB saying giving birth is just uncomfortable!!!!

Nay October 18, 2016 at 6:58 PM

So true, Leslie!

bev October 18, 2016 at 7:11 PM

Love doesn’t hurt, Jean.

Amy October 18, 2016 at 7:17 PM

R…do you see why I ended up holding my head and walking around in circles for, like, five minutes after I finished it?!? It was late at night and I was all, “how the %&$# am I supposed to sleep after THAT??” I’m so glad you loved it! :D

Oh Nay, that’s awful. *gentle hugs* My dad has CHF and has to have periodic procedures, so I know how awful they can be. We may not be able to do much for you, but we CAN give you “virtual” company while you go through this!!

Amy October 18, 2016 at 7:18 PM

“Sorry Amy, trying to redirect bev’s anger towards you” <—- d!ck move!!!!

R. Renee October 18, 2016 at 7:19 PM

Amy did you see my review? We need to use spoiler tags and discuss what happened next!!

Amy October 18, 2016 at 7:42 PM

No, haven’t seen it yet…but I am SO excited to have someone to talk with about it. Do you have any idea how close I came to writing the author and asking her to write some kind of epilogue or followup short story or SOMETHING?!? GAH!!!

Nay October 18, 2016 at 8:15 PM

Thanks, Amy! Like I said earlier, that helps so much! When I keep my mind busy, I don’t dwell on this stuff. I’ve had CHF for 13 years, so I know what your dad is going through and am so sorry to hear he has to deal with it too. I hope his doctors have been able to make it manageable!

Cheryl October 18, 2016 at 10:09 PM

Nay, glad your day of tests is over! *big hug*

Bev, I was talking about Black Swan Affair.

I’m at about 20%. The h’s best friend sums up what I’ve been thinking so far:
“You were jilted. Get the f*ck over it. Plenty of people have been in your shoes before and not only survived but thrived.” Also, have to say so far I don’t like Killian at all and think he’s just been stringing Maverick along and doesn’t really love her.

Jennifer October 19, 2016 at 5:04 AM

On 10/23 Lost Beauty (Deadly Beauties Live On, #3) by C.M. Owens comes out, it’s Chaz’s book which a lot of people have been waiting on, just thought I’d mention that.

Nay October 19, 2016 at 7:28 AM

Cheryl, I’m at 30% and totally agree about BSA.
