Broken Promises… Yes. I and a lot of other people have been waiting for Tristan’s story. I’m wishlisting until after Christmas, because it’s going to TEAR MY HEART OUT! Yes, yelling. The first part, The Secret Life of Tristan Scott totally made me fall in love. This one is going to hurt.

Amy, I have to give warning. The first of the Trystan Scott books are in HS, and it’s from the girl’s POV and being his friend and falling in love. This one is ten years later…. and STUFF HAPPENED! That’s why I’m scared of this one. A standalone, though. I just… I read that first series and fell utterly in love with the couple. I’m worried about a Danika and Tristan (weird coincidence) heartbreak.
Lily of the Springs is SO freaking great, Bev! Five stars for me. What’s funny is that normally I would be furious at a storyline like that if it was set in modern-day times and would probably DNF it, but because of it being in the 1950’s when women were so limited in options and restricted by what was expected of them, I was able to fall in love with the story. Even though she faces all kinds of frustration and heartache because of her husband (it was literally a shot gun wedding complete with the town sheriff, LOL!), she never comes across as whiny. More like long-suffering. And the ending…BAM! So satisfying. *props chin in hand and sighs* I loved it.
*snort* And I WANT a T&D heartbreak, Tessa. 😉
Actually, all of what you described sounds perfect to me! Unless the H cheats on her and she takes him back all doe-eyed. *cringes* Is that what you’re trying to warn me about? Or am I asking a totally spoilery question?
I’m baackkk and missed chatting with everyone! My vacation out in Colorado was amazing and I wish that state was closer to all my family because I adore it!
I missed A LOT here and have to get back on pace to read all the books I want to by the end of the year. Did I completely miss the buddy read of The Bronze Horseman – did you all love it? I might ease back into reading with Withering Hope since that review got me intrigued and I’ve had that book since it came out. Of course I’m getting the Jeaniene Frost up there. What other books did I miss in the last 2 weeks that I have to get?

LOL Bev!! Actually, the sighs of contentment aren’t from getting my heart broken by LotS. There wasn’t really the usual turmoil that makes me happy dance. My heart hurt for her at times and I was beyond frustrated for what she had to put up with, but her matter-of-fact voice and the way things wrapped up were just PERFECT. 😀
What happened? I have NO IDEA. That’s why I want to read it. Here I am in happy HEA land and BOOM! I read a Ferro book and they are not together and he’s all depressed and I don’t know what! Then, read the synopsis and and and… WTF happened?

Fabi, I really missed talking books with y’all too! I’ve recently learned a few vet techs at work like our kind of books so we’ve been having fun giving each other recs and I told them about this site of course! The one tech had all these PNR recs that I’ve never heard of and I was like how is that possible when we are talking about one of my favorite genres?! Really excited to try some of them out and report back if I find some gems 😀

I was so excited for these serials too but then got to 8 and found she was planning on writing MANY more, if this were one giant book it would cost $59.80 AND that’s what REALLY bothered me AND it looks like more to come??? I’m sorry but that is just not right IMO…

Ela, I totally get you with her Ferro series. I read them with Kindle Unlimited, so I didn’t get hit hard for them, but I can’t imagine paying that much money for so few pages. The Trystan Scott series, though, aren’t as many books. This last one is a “standalone” which I can totally see. I just think if you’ve read the other books, the impact is going to hurt big time. I fell in love with that couple, then to read that synopsis. *sniffles*
Jean, if you read it, please tell me how good it is. I will get to it, just after my need for happy goes away. I’m gonna read Out of Plans, no problem, because the author has you laughing even as your heart clutches in pain. I love her writing.

Oh Ela. I totally agree with you on the Arrangement series. I was getting so mad with the cliffhangers….stopped around book 17 and refused to go back to it! Especially with the prices of them!
But the Trystan story was a whole separate series and I loved it! Been waiting for the follow up for over a year I think!

Tessa and Jean…do you guys think it would be worth it to get KU for the Ferro series (*giggle* that totally looks like “get knocked up”…anyways…) considering the price of the books? And at what book could I stop and then start the TS series to get the full impact? I just remember with T&D that they were introduced briefly in book 3 (if I remember correctly) but that one scene and the palpable heartache between them was enough to make me want to jump into their story.
Amy, there used to be a 30 day trial of KU. You might see if it’s still available. Then you can cancel if you prefer to own your books. KU is basically a lending library with a membership fee.
Michelle…I loved ITF but I loved LotS even more. That being said, ITF has much more emotion, and I was heartbroken and even crying at one part. It was beautiful though. LotS for me was more repeatedly thinking “ugh, are you SERIOUS?!?” and my blood pressure skyrocketing every time he would be an idiot, but yet I never was angry or frustrated with her. Like I said before, she doesn’t come off as whiny or feeling sorry for herself…she was more like “yeah this sucks, but life goes on.” It was just SO different for me, and I *loved* the new and different feels that it gave me.
T and D were a different author. 🙂 The Trystan Scott series is by HM Ward, popular for those OH SO TINY books. Unfortunately the series isn’t in KU anymore. *frowns* However, they have 1-5 for ten dollars. *snickers* Seriously, the author’s books are way too expensive, but darn if I didn’t love Trystan Scott’s books. I admit, I just got the last one with my Kindle Unlimited subscription just to get it before it goes out of the program. The Ferro series…. UGH Just ugh!

Amy, it is confusing. I’ve read Arrangement 1-17 and don’t know if you need to really. Damaged and Damaged 2 were great. The Proposition series….sad but great! Each is about one of the Ferros. I have not read the Secrets series yet but have it! But the Trystan Scott series I kinda consider standalone, especially the first 5 books since he’s not even involved with the Ferros at that point. I just checked…..i have the box set and its lendable! You interested?
The Trystan Scotts series can be read outside of the Ferro family’s series. His first five (It’s basically the whole first story) are bundled for 9.99. After that, you can go straight to the newest, which is a KU book. 😀
Honestly, KU is awesme in my opinion. There are a lot of books available, and some authors put the books there for a month after they’ve released it, or the opposite, release it in KU, then go to regular. Either way, I’ve gotten tons of books for that ten dollars a month.

Agree that KU is awesome. I’ve had it for I think 6 months now. I have too many books so I like it to try out reads and then I add them to my wishlist to watch for a sale if I liked enough to buy. Also the audiobook selection is pretty good and I’ve been listening to those on my way to work.
Michelle, the book itself is just amazing. I looked at it, flipped the pages, and carefully rewrapped it. It is soooo cool!!! Not sure when I’ll read it yet.
