Me first!

Ela February 6, 2017 at 11:38 AM

Well good for you Grey! *totally not sarcastic*

Maryse February 6, 2017 at 11:53 AM

hahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!

Grey February 6, 2017 at 1:09 PM

Grey February 6, 2017 at 1:27 PM

Alright Maryse, I’m starting The Last Hour of Gann today… I’ve been in a rut and need something to wow me. So… Are you ready???

Ela February 6, 2017 at 1:38 PM

Wait what? Is Maryse joining you Grey? I bet you she’s gonna squirrel!!!!

Maryse February 6, 2017 at 1:49 PM

I’m in… but there may be squirreling. :P

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 2:20 PM

Ok guys! Remember when we were talking about NetGalley and I said the only book I requested was the new TJR book? I haven’t heard anything but then just now I get an email from Simon and Shuster thanking me for downloading the eGalley copy. Does this mean I was approved? And where the heck is it?

Fabi February 6, 2017 at 2:39 PM

Log in to NetGalley and click on Your Shelf. You should see it there if you’ve been approved.

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 2:43 PM

When I click on my shelf I don’t see anything, but I clicked on the title and it’s still pending. Maybe I’ve been approved by the publisher and it hasn’t made it though to NG yet? I’m sending you the email.

bev February 6, 2017 at 3:18 PM

Once Major Tom gets on that space ship she will realize there is nowhere to squirrel to.

Amy February 6, 2017 at 3:52 PM

Okay ladies, I need a number between 1 and 485 for a 2015 read.

And the next big question…Red Queen or Gann for my February challenge? RQ is a 2017 click and Gann is a 2016 click, so I’m trying to time the challenge read with my reading resolution…

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 3:54 PM

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 3:54 PM

Can’t help you with the other question :-/

Grey February 6, 2017 at 4:04 PM

Do Gann with Maryse and me, Amy! It will be the Three Glittery Grey Marmies… Which IMHO are way more interesting than those blasted musketeers any day… Plus, that way if Maryse squirrels on me…well you know…LOL!

Maryse February 6, 2017 at 4:08 PM

Now I want a Three Musketeers candy bar. And I don’t even really like those. :|

Fabi February 6, 2017 at 4:13 PM

Amy, they’re both good. Gann is adult and RQ is YA if that helps your decision.

Tessa February 6, 2017 at 4:19 PM

Uh… I like Red Queen more, and some people like Hour of Gann more… I’ll be honest. There’s a part towards the beginning of H of G that had me giving it four stars out of five so that may just be my issue.

D.G. February 6, 2017 at 4:57 PM

Grievous is MINE!!!! Bahahaha….

So I finally started Wolfsong…yep, took the plunge, drank the kool-aid…and it is amazing…just amazing. No other words needed.

Ela February 6, 2017 at 5:07 PM

Tessa February 6, 2017 at 5:12 PM

Oh we can keep giving numbers? 251

Maryse February 6, 2017 at 5:14 PM

I say 222.

Cheryl February 6, 2017 at 5:31 PM

I say 1. ;)

Tessa February 6, 2017 at 5:37 PM

Cheryl, you’re a rebel. lol The number we all avoid.

Fabi February 6, 2017 at 5:41 PM

I want my tbr sorted by year published.

Tessa February 6, 2017 at 5:42 PM

I can’t imagine the time and energy it took to do that. I still have to sort mine by PNR type!

MichelleS February 6, 2017 at 5:48 PM

My picks for Amy are #333… and Last Hour of Gann for February Challenge, unless you haven’t read Throne of Glass, then I’d recommend that one.

MichelleS February 6, 2017 at 5:49 PM

Get out the popcorn & a giant beverage, it’s going to be a LONG journey through Gann, but so worth it. Will never forget that book!

DG February 6, 2017 at 5:56 PM

Grievous is MINE!! Bahahaha….after I finish Wolfsong!!!! Yep, I folded, tossed in my chips, drank the Kool-aid, and bought the book! Wolfsong is just amazing…enough said.

Amy February 6, 2017 at 6:39 PM

Aw geez…now I have to narrow it down AGAIN. :P

88 – Hollywood and Vine
251 – The Ghost Bride
222- Broken By Lies
1 – Raze

But…BUT!! Lookie here:
484 is…The Last Hour of Gann

Fabi February 6, 2017 at 6:46 PM

That’s karma talking Amy. You better listen to the 484.

Amy February 6, 2017 at 6:46 PM

What happened?!? My second comment responding to y’all didn’t post!! :? Let me try again in a minute…

Fabi February 6, 2017 at 6:51 PM

Where’s Jean? Singe went on my tbr so fast you’d think it was home.

Amy February 6, 2017 at 6:54 PM

HA! I figured it out…when I try to post a link my comment won’t post. WTH is going on?? I tried to post a link for Maryse for a Three Musketeers cocktail. *sigh*

Let’s try it again *without* the link…

Fabi, right? I guess Gann it is then. And thanks for the info…Red Queen will be great when I’m craving a YA PNR or fantasy. :D

Tessa, it WAS time consuming but so worth it! The “manage content” feature on Amazon helped tremendously though.

MichelleS, did you see 484 for me up there? ;)

bev February 6, 2017 at 7:01 PM

Gann is awesome,* seriously you all need to read it.

*But maybe not as awesome as Simon.

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 7:07 PM

I picked H&V??!! How odd! I LOVE that book!

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 7:12 PM

Fabi, GR has that feature! Go to your TBR shelf and click on settings. Select “date pub” then sort away!

Fabi February 6, 2017 at 7:26 PM

Thanks R. but it doesn’t transfer to my Kindle app. Or does it? You seem to find all the cool features.

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 7:29 PM

I don’t know. I keep everything organized in GR. I’ve never tried to do anything on my kindle.

Cheryl February 6, 2017 at 7:38 PM

I’m just happy I’m up to date with what I have read on “my books” in GR. Can’t imagine finding the time to really organize my kindle.

Cheryl February 6, 2017 at 7:40 PM

It would be great if there was a kindle app that would analyze what your mood is and what you should start reading that day. “Ok Google what is the right book for me to read today?!!”

Amy February 6, 2017 at 7:41 PM

Yep R, you picked H&V! But Gann is 484 from Ela and would work for my February read. I thought it was a 2016 click but it’s actually a 2015 click, and I need a 2015 click. So…Gann it is.

Wow. If all that doesn’t scream book nerd…whatever, I’m a PROUD book nerd!!!!

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 7:42 PM

Sorry Cheryl. I just asked Alexa what a good book is and she said the bible so unless you’re feeling something heavy…

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 7:43 PM

I don’t blame you! Two birds !

Amy February 6, 2017 at 7:43 PM

YES Cheryl! Hoe awesome would that be?!?

Amy February 6, 2017 at 7:43 PM

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 7:44 PM

And I was just snickering “Amy said hoe!” <–singsong voice

Maryse February 6, 2017 at 8:16 PM

I agree Amy and Fabi. 484 it is!

Maryse February 6, 2017 at 8:17 PM

LOL bev!!!!

bev says simon says.

Maryse February 6, 2017 at 8:18 PM

So it’s not letting you post links, Amy?

I have been getting some spam comments that the spam-filter is catching (which is great) but maybe it’s being overzealous.

bev February 6, 2017 at 8:19 PM

I totally squirreled on Throne of Glass to a different book. Now I remember that Wintersong comes out tomorrow/tonight.
Why are new releases always on work days?

Amy February 6, 2017 at 8:19 PM

It’s not as bad as when I was relaying info to a higher-up the other day, and instead of saying “we’ve had a lot of success there” I said…

…drumroll please…

“we’ve had a lot of sex there”

Not my finest moment.

Amy February 6, 2017 at 8:20 PM

Someone tried to spam HERE?!?

Aw sh!t, hold my earrings…

bev February 6, 2017 at 8:21 PM

Whoa. With your whole staff?
You’ve got a lot of energy.

Amy February 6, 2017 at 8:30 PM

Grey February 6, 2017 at 9:20 PM

Yes!!! We’re Gann-ing together!!! I. Am. Excited!!! I feel like we should first line Monday LOL!

The eviction notice was hanging on the door when they got back from the hospital. – The Last Hour of Gann by R. Lee Smith

Amy February 6, 2017 at 9:44 PM

Heck, it’s probably going to be my first line on Thursday with how big this book is.

Probably the NEXT Thursday as well.

Tessa February 6, 2017 at 9:55 PM

lol That’s so true. It’s a big book. It won the “longest book” on my GR list last year.

Wintersong is next, I think? Are we doing that one right away Bev? I am currently in the middle of nothing, so I can go either way. I think quite a few books that are coming out tomorrow will be library books. Because, GAH! And I can get them by next month. I’m just not sure which will be a library book and which will be bought. Wintersong will be bought.

Oh, so I went to look at other books by P. Dangelico, after the mention in Maryse’s review, and apparently I have one already!!!! WOOT! All that random, sure, why not? It’s free. Just paid off. :D

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 9:56 PM

I’m determined not to squirrel Murmuration again as soon as I finish my beta projects…unless it gets close to March and I still haven’t read my PNR pick.

Fabi February 6, 2017 at 9:58 PM

I wish I could read your PNR pick for you R.

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 9:59 PM

Me too! LOL I have so many other things I want to read. But, that’s the point of the challenge right? And I’d never read it without it!

bev February 6, 2017 at 9:59 PM

Hey, do me a favor? After you start post how long it says you have left.

bev February 6, 2017 at 10:02 PM

I can start Wintersong tomorrow after work.

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 10:08 PM

OMG Maryse! This was the best bad lip reading yet!! I hadn’t seen it!

Amy February 6, 2017 at 10:11 PM

It says 23 hours and 16 minutes.

What the heck did I get myself into?? *snort*

Amy February 6, 2017 at 10:13 PM

I love those bad lip reading videos!! Hubby and I were just watching the 2016 NFL one the night before he left and we were dying!

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 10:15 PM

That one killed me. They’re so funny! I think the first one I saw was for Twilight at the theater. I was choking on my popcorn!

Fabi February 6, 2017 at 10:18 PM

This is the first one I’ve ever seen. Made my night! LOL Thanks R.

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 10:19 PM

Thank Maryse. I found it on her FB page!

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 10:19 PM

OMG then you need the Twilight one!

Fabi February 6, 2017 at 10:19 PM

Amy, when you finish you’ll want more. Crazy as it sounds. ;-)

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 10:22 PM

Well either it isn’t funny anymore or I can’t find the original :(

Amy February 6, 2017 at 10:24 PM

If you like Star Wars and bad lip reading:

Hubby and I may be the biggest dorks ever but we kept watching this and laughing harder and harder each time!

“I hate Brenda” LOL!!!!

Fabi February 6, 2017 at 10:26 PM

Yeah, I tried a couple of the Twighlight ones just now. No…

Let’s see the Star Wars…

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 10:26 PM

wait…maybe it was the hunger games…

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 10:27 PM
Fabi February 6, 2017 at 10:29 PM

Star Wars won’t play for me. Ok Hunger Games, last one.

R. Renee February 6, 2017 at 10:31 PM

Seagulls gonna come…poke me in the coconut. OMG this needs to be our theme song!

Fabi February 6, 2017 at 10:31 PM

won’t load either :-( Probably because I’m downloading audio books at the same time.

Amy February 6, 2017 at 10:35 PM

“That log had a child…”

I can’t stop giggling now!

Amy February 6, 2017 at 10:36 PM

Fabi…you have to try and watch it later. It’s hilarious!

bev February 6, 2017 at 10:47 PM

It’s so true you will wish for more. Slightly jealous of you all reading it for the first time. Just let yourself get swept up into it.
You all need to rope Jean in to the buddy read.

Ela February 7, 2017 at 10:05 AM

I WIN I WIN….I WAS THE 484 CHOICE MAKER….whatever…..

Fabi February 7, 2017 at 10:08 AM

You should Ela. It’s pretty dark. You’ll like it.

Ela February 7, 2017 at 10:17 AM

Grey February 7, 2017 at 10:58 AM

Ooh Ela, Into The Light by Aleatha Romig? Loved that book… But yes! Join the buddy read with us!!

My kindle won’t tell me how much longer I have to read…location 386 of 19907… Holy crap…

Ela February 7, 2017 at 11:01 AM

Yup, the one and only Aleatha! Woaw crapness….386 of 19907 that’s like 2%

Maryse February 7, 2017 at 11:49 AM

Maybe you SHOULD, Ela.

Maybe. You. Should.

Maryse February 7, 2017 at 12:48 PM

Cheryl February 7, 2017 at 8:46 PM

R. Renee February 7, 2017 at 8:48 PM
bev February 7, 2017 at 10:09 PM

That’s great.
Though most books I re read I’m not sure how many times I’ve done so.
