It brought me back to my old-school, new adult love story indie days, that took my heart on a roller coaster ride of emotions, my heart dipping and swirling, and almost crashing, and I have to say it. Drive is one of the BEST reads of the year, and it is another that will be forever on my favorites list. And now, Unloved, a love story is up next for me!! YAY ME!!!! 😀

I finished Drive about two days ago, and like most, it is probably one of my top three (could be #1) books of the year!

“Even in hindsight, with all of your mistakes disappearing in the distance, the things you got right are there alongside them. I’d made the mistake of only looking for the hurt. Because why do we have to be perfect?”
There is SO MUCH about this book that stuck with me, but those are two of my favorite quotes. Of course I love it when our hero finally wakes up, but I LOVE it when our heroine has those self-actualization moments.
No, not really anti. But not a favorite trope because it usually puts the heroine in the unlikable category. I want to love my heroines.
Drive, huh? I love my triangles… I haven’t read a really good one in a LONG time. Like a long time. Maryse, shoot me straight, on a scale on 0-Arsen, what are we talking here?

Okay, so far Drive has made me discover that I only own one Fugees song. It was not Ready or Not and that I still don’t get the excitement over The Dave Matthews Band. (Really. I know it’s popular, but I don’t GET why).
3 things:
1. I contemplated buying Ready or Not and remembered it was kind of repetitive, so I just Youtubed it. However, I also don’t have much Adele, which I didn’t realize, so I’ll be buying 21 and 24 next month.
2. It rained last night! RAIN! It was awesome. I was up until 12:30am reading when I heard the rain starting. So I put the book away, turned off all sound, and fell asleep to it. 😀
3. Hurricane started on my playlist, and I swear, I missed it THREE times. I went back to it for a fourth time just so I could hear it. (My favorite 30 Seconds to Mars song)
I’m looking for this book. It’s dirty and all I remember is this scene in which they get married and have sex in front of the priest.

Just finished Unloved. Started very slowly and had a hard time getting into it (probably didn’t help that I had just finished Drive and was comparing the “feels”). It had a unique premise, with a “twist”. I liked it, but didn’t love it.

Alright, you all were right about Drive. I absolutely loved it. I did get teary-eyed at one point (I don’t get teary eyed easily). But the song that hit the hardest for me was Who Knew by Pink. That mixed with what was happening was what hit me.

Right off the bat I’d say “How to Kill a Rockstar” is the CLOSEST to this level of angst and indecision and heartache. Then “The Mighty Storm” (Samantha Towle). Also the Love Me with Lies trilogy by Tarryn Fisher. The Man I Love Trilogy by Suanne Laqueur, That, and Thoughtless, and Beautiful Disaster, Rock Me, and even Arsen (but Arsen goes above and beyond the heartachy parts).

Ok, so about Accidentally on Purpose…I finally got past the first 50 pages and read up to about 60% and then there was a buddy read, so I put it down and….I kinda forgot about it! lol
