OMG this sounds crazy, I can’t even choose a part of the blurb I wanna highlight, ’cause the 2nd part of the blurb is WAY different than the first part… so I say this blurb must be read for THAT jolt!!

Just a few great looking books that popped up on my radar this morning, and I thought I’d post ’em in case any of these strike your fancy. Three super sales and two new book releases,. And the first (that one there to the left) one had me one-clicking within seconds of reading that blurb.
P.S. I’m reading one right now (Tangled <— from last year!) that I’m loving, and I’m feeling, and it’s right up our alley (story-wise, writing-wise, “new adult” character-wise). She’s in love with her best friend, but HIS best friend is a bully. He hates her. But us getting to know him? WOW. It’s intense. I haven’t skimmed a thing. Not even the “steamy scenes”. It’s gonna hurt, I just know it. It already hurts, and I’m halfway through. —->

Really… Tangled is just pure old-school “new adult” awesomeness. The writing is great, the character development is great, the inner-dialogue, the actual dialogue, the reactions… how she feels, how he is…
the best friends… and then the reveal (or at least one of ’em… so far anyway), and OMG my HEART. It’s like Z, and Travis and a true PAIN IN THE A$$ bully… all wrapped into one. I am SO INTO THIS.
I just wanna snuggle with our stuffed manatee right now.
The Play was really good. What a tortured childhood.

I found one yesterday that made me think right away of MichelleS. Timeless Passion by Kayden Claremont.

Wither. I’m around 60%. I’m liking it and will probably read the next one. Not loving it like Jean and Amy. Yet, cause there are books that the ending makes, so could happen.
It is her POV only. She is a very strong heroine, but not all of a sudden superwoman. I like that, that her old life made her strong but has to learn to navigate this new world. And it feels like no one is safe.
But. I have not completely connected with the characters yet. And it feels slightly rushed, in that she has been involved in at least five different life and death situations, new places, new people.
But first book, you know. It really could turn into what Ive wanted with the next books.
Lol. Long ramble to say I don’t know. You, Jean & Amy are very similar in books So hopefully they’ll pop in with better answer. 😛

Maryse, I’m waiting for your review until I click on Tangled but you have me interested for sure! Wild Reckless I have and still haven’t read it but I moved it up a few weeks back because I saw another great review.
Why yes I one clicked The Family, and Tangled. Both sound like yummy reads. And since we are all “family” here I have a little confession… I looooved Uncivilized!!! When it first came out I just could not ignore that blurb!!! Between blurb and Sawyer Bennett… well I loved it and spent the majority of the book with a s**the eating grin. The Play was great too Maryse!! Oh my heart on that one for sure.
I have been trying to be good all month. Ever since I saw Tangled as a bully book (which you know I adore above all other tropes) I’ve been wanting to read it. However, I thought, nope. Not this month. Gonna be good. Then, my monitor goes into monstrous dying mode. *sighs* Right now is a good hour. An hour from now… maybe not. Guess what I’m buying myself next? *grrr* Okay. Then, Tangled. Maryse reads Tangled and loves it enough for BBF feels! *pounds head* How am I supposed to resist?
*gets off soap box* Alright, that said, Maryse, next you should read Law of Moses. It’s so good, a little heart breaking, but also loves, angst, and twirly happies.
Finished. Now onto Tangled. Cmon Michelle & Tessa. Just jump in.;-)
Loved it!!! It wraps up in quite the bow, I will admit (and that’s not a spoiler ’cause you don’t know “which” bow)… but still SO worth the emotions and intensity and conflict.
P.S. I’m writing the review right now… but the gist of my review? READ TANGLED!!!! LOL!!!

Bev, I really liked Wither and think it was the perfect setup for the next book! I get not connecting with the characters, but what about Cable? Sigh…… There are so many directions this story can go and it is totally unforgettable. I won’t need to refresh my memory when book 2 comes out and that’s a great thing!
You could have told me about Tangled a little sooner. I will be out of commission for at least a week reading this MONSTER of a book from your list earlier this week: the last Hour of Gann. OMG. How long is this book? I can’t find a page count, but I am guessing maybe 1200 pages? When my Kindle said 32 hours left in book I nearly fainted. The sample took me a couple of hours to read and by then I was hooked. Kind of like Radiance and Transcendence and a few others all mixed together. I’m hooked.
Fabi – I looked up Timeless Passion – is it a trilogy? What made you think of me? Trying to figure out if I am reading right book info.

Dangit Maryse…I started Rush last night after wavering between that and Wild Reckless, told Jean I’m invested in it so I can’t start Corrupt (plus there is the whole dual-POV issue with me), and now I’m being tempted with Tangled! And I haven’t even read your review yet… *sigh*

As for Wither, I really liked it! The caliber of the writing was okay, nothing spectacular but the story itself was enough to overcome that, at least for me. It had a slightly different take on the whole zombie/post-apocalyptic story in terms of what or who was to be feared the most. Gah, that girl just couldn’t catch a break! It was one thing after another after another for most of the book.
The tummy twists part I’m at in Corrupt is killing me. Yep, death by book nerves is now a thing.

It’s dark and super tummy twist and anxiety, but I wouldn’t put it as far as some others. I’m loving it. What’s dark for you? I can gauge from there,

Omg I haven’t hit a sad thing yet. I mean, semi sad. Not totally sad. Ugh. I’m feeling all the feels. I feel panicky. And I’m cursing a lot. The more passionate about a book I am, the more I curse. And right now I’m like a drunk dock worker.
I think that was the semi-sad part. But ugh, that post was right before the semi-sad, and the semi-sad made me want to punch people.
Aaaaaaaand now it’s time for me to be a crow eater…Rush is dual POV and it’s working for me, so I guess dual POV *does* work for me. Well, sometimes. Just not with super angsty reads.
Now watch…I’m going to come across a dual-POV book that has crazy angst. 😉
Thanks for the heads up, Bev! It just might work for me because Maryse gave it 4.5 stars, and dual (or more) POV’s sometimes take the edge off for her. What would I do without all of you here? 😀
Semi sad, for me, was the matches. I found it sad, and I wanted to punch people, but I didn’t cry. So there’s another sad part coming?
*thinks* I think, for me, though probably not everyone, that was more sad than average. However, I call it semi-sad because I can see for most it would be semi only and later parts might be more sad. Does that make sense?
