…It has me feeling all kinds of intense feels, much like Therapy did. She has an “older self” that she sees in the mirror who tries to guide her without telling her exactly what will happen (and her older self appears to be quite a mess), and it has before and after alternating segments…before, when she was bullied mercilessly and her best/only friend (who she secretly loves) refuses to see the extent of it because he is friends with them, and then after, where something horrible has happened. Let me tell you, I need those “after” segments to break up the anxiety-inducing “before” segments

Morning everyone! What’s on everyone’s schedule (reading and life)? I just started audio of Bountiful by Sarina Bowen and I am in birthday planning (my sons bday) and family vacation planning mode.

I wouldn’t go that far but I am reading in a quiet house during a thunderstorm and it’s heaven.

Oh, happy birthday to your son Leslie! I loathe planning vacas and bdays, too much stress and pressure, but we always end up having the best time. I’m sure u will too!
I had a vaca from my older two kids for a few days this week. The first day I was super sad and missed them a whole bunch, watched reruns of a bunch of old romance movies all day. Then my Mom called me in the middle of the night worried about my son and dry drowning. That made me worried and super paranoid the next day and I took him to urgent care the next day for peace of mind. He’s fine. Jasper was a fuss butt that day also and I had a migraine half the night. And the last day I binged The Resident. Everyone was in a good mood, my hubby had the 4th off so I got a little extra sleep.
I’ve not read. I’m tired all the time, Js still up every 2 to 3 hours and I’ve had terrible headaches lately so I can’t look at the screen for too long. But, I wanna see what I’m in the mood for. I’m thinking of starting A Discovery of Witches (paranormal) or Everything You Want Me to Be (thriller) or The Book of M (dystopia) or How to Walk Away (should give me Me Before You feels) or Next Year in Havana (for romance) or Better When He’s Bad (for the bad boy, obv ;))
Tasha, that whole dry drowning thing is crazy and so scary. My stomach clenched in anxiety just hearing you talk about it. Thank goodness everyone is good (minus your major sleep deprivation). Sounds like you have lots of good options for reading. Yay!
Good morning everyone! I’m jealous of the stormy reading weather you guys are getting. Sunny here but nothing higher than 71 today so I shouldn’t complain. But I do miss the crazy thunderstorms we used to get in North Carolina!
I’m still working on Jack and Josie, and it’s still good. I’m off work this week so I should be reading my heart out, right? Nope, I’m getting tied up in projects around the house.

I finished the last Imp book. 🙁 Why the frown? Because the series is done and it was awesome and I loved the Sam and her archangel and even though she’s going to write more books in the world, their story is done and I’M GONNA MISS IT! *cries* It is honestly a series I could read forever. It’s PNR, hilarious, wonderful secondary and side characters, so much love and romance, and so much heart. I don’t want it to go away.

Happy Friday, everyone! OMG, it’s finally NOT in the 90’s here. This heat has been miserable–don’t want to sound gross, but scar tissue and extreme heat are not a happy combination for easy breathing.
I just put a hugely long comment on Maryse’s wonderful new make-up and skin care thread. I’m requesting info about anything that works for eye wrinkles/bags/dark circles. I posted what’s worked for me if anyone has problems with them like I do.
So Grey, does that mean I should continue with book 2…..

My reading has slowed down again. Maybe because I fell through that rabbit hole but instead of tea parties and Mad Batters I found catchy hooks and synchronized dancing.
I read The Duke and I many years ago. I don’t remember mich about it but know others love it. I’ve been thinking of re reading it to see if I’ll like it more now.

Thanks Grey, my “baby” is turning 18 on Monday. He is pretty amazing. He was worlds worst baby/toddler/young child but is worlds BEST teenager. He is high functioning autistic but isnt what you would think of as typical autistic (most seem to excel academically) as he struggles w/math & reading comprehension. He repeated 3rd grade so he isn’t graduating til next year. Anyway, I am doing a family party with pizza and cake on his actual birthday and then a friend party next weekend at movies for Antman. Planning parties this time of year is so hard with everyone being on vacay AND he shares a birthday with his BFF so we have to plan around that party too. Thank goodness I only have one kid!

Leslie one of my sons although not autistic was also a very difficult/challenging baby and toddler. Always pushing back and so determined! We butted heads so often!! But now he’s a wonderful young man and his determination (aka stubbornness!!) which was so difficult to deal with in a toddler has transformed into a wonderful adult trait of being able to follow through on things and always get the job done properly. So if you’re a mum of a crazy toddler and you’re tearing your hair out, HANG IN THERE! Have faith that they will grow through it and what seems like a negative now might turn out to be a positive later.

We’re celebrating the 4th today at the campgrounds. Fireworks should be coming soon and then I hear it takes until midnight or later to get outta here. I’m not a crowd person and there are SO many ppl. Hopefully this will be a memory the kids will really love to talk about when they’re older though.

We just got back from USA. Suffering jetlag and I have to work tomorrow.
My eldest daughter was extremely difficult, stubborn, and very demanding but like Jan’s son, but has definitely made her morals and personality. She’s her own person. She’s finishing her last year of Nuclear Medicine.
And my middle daughter has her 21st party on Saturday. So a lot of organising to be done as I think there’s 120 people coming. But thank goodness it’s not at our house.
Also I just read “That Guy” and loved it. Really enjoyable and funny.

When I turned 21 I think I just went out and drank (got drunk) with a few friends.
My sister took me to a club for my 21st… which, if you know me irl, you would never take me to a club for fun. lol I got a scotch and drank maybe a few sips and was bored. Then I had lots of water and soda. I like dancing but not club version of dancing.
Bev, I loved the Punk. You can tell she was just a happy little girl. I looked up the synopsis of the show. “Celebrity dads are left to care of their kids alone for 48 hours without the help of anyone, while their wives leave the home to enjoy some relaxing time off.” No wonder it was so cute.
There is another ep with another little girl who meets G Dragon too. Not like a crush but likes to sing and dance to his songs. She ended up taking her dress off and he was the flustered one, lol.
That’s as far as I’ve watched. I do not need to add Korean reality shows to the mix.
Well….i watch running man but that’s a competition based show. Mostly tag. 🙂

Tasha, I have to say I have read and reread Discovery of Witches several times and the other two books in the series and I loved them all. It took me a few tries to get into book 2, but once I did I became hooked on that one also.
