She’s the sister of the Prez… “…The fact Iβm a woman means I donβt wear the patch, but itβll never change the fact that I’m a Templar by blood.Β We’re known as royalty in the outlaw world. Though, the dynasty is dancing on the right side of the law these days.Β That doesnβt mean that the law and those who enforce it are friends…”

To land her dream job of partner in the most prestigious firm on the Upper East Side, Poppy must now pull double shifts as their wedding planner and maid of honor. And the icing on a truly craptastic cake? Leo Nass. Handsome, infuriating, womanizer, and β¦ the best man. Despite their longstanding loathing, Poppy doesn’t see Leo coming. Literally…“
- A Cowboy’s Luck (The McGavin Brothers Book 8)Β by Vicki Lewis Thompson <— LIVE!!
- The Four Horsemen: DescentΒ by LJ SwallowΒ <— LIVE!!
- Look the PartΒ by Jewel E. Ann <—Β JAN HAS TWO FEBRUARY FAVORITES!!!
Jan: What was everyoneβs fav read of February? I love reading about those. When I looked back, I was pretty shocked to see mine was a draw between (wait for it) two new CRs!! Shock!! Not a HR! What?????? Both books were by well-known authors I havenβt read before. So, backlists here I come. Yay!!
My equal favs were: Look the PartΒ by Jewel E. Ann. Lovely CR about a music therapist who falls in love with a widower who has a mildly autistic son. To the widowerβs surprise, he falls in love too! Itβs a lovely, funny and sensitively told story. Really well-written.
The other one was Dirty Dancing at Devil’s Leap. I didnβt like the cover or title, but read it on a rec. And it was lovely! A small town romance, but really well-written and involving. Very enjoyable.Β I highly recommend both.
- The Worst Best ManΒ by Lucy Score <— Back on the list ’causeΒ Cheryl AND Kandace’s FEBRUARY FAVORITE WAS THIS ONE. They loved it!
Cheryl: The Worst Best Man- it was over the top at times, but again loved the strong h.
Kandace: I loved this book
Pucked Off (The Pucked Series Book 6)Β by Helena Hunting <— HELENA HUNTING SUER-BARGAIN HOCKEY STAR ALERT! “...I have secrets. Ones I shared with the wrong person, and she used them against me. Sometimes she still does. I should cut ties. But she makes it difficult, because sheβs the kind of bad I deserve.Β At least thatβs what I believed until someone from my past gets caught up in my present…”
- Musketeers: Fallen MC #2Β by C.J. Washington <—Β LIVE!! BIKER BOOK ALERT! And Beth G is excited!
Beth G: Hey guys! ONE OF MY FAV AUTHORS IS BACK. C.J Washington! She wrote one book in 2015, and weβve been waiting on the second one since (she had health issues but sheβs ok ) It was the first book I read of hers and I loved it she was officially on my list of no questions asked Iβll read it. The first is calledΒ Duke: Fallen MC #1, the second is The Musketeers and its just been released. If you like bikers I highly suggest giving it ago.
BurnΒ by Suzanne Wright <— SUZANNE WRIGHT PARANORMAL SERIES andΒ Tessa is LOVING it!
Tessa:Β Maryse, the series is The Dark in You series by Suzanne Wright. Itβs seriously addicting. I went and bought the third book. lol Itβs so well written and just a lot of fun, with an EXCESSIVELY possessive hero and a sassy, doesnβt give a crap, independent heroine.
- Strange the DreamerΒ by Laini Taylor <— Tessa says MIND-BLOWING!! One of Tessa’sΒ FEBRUARY FAVORITES:
Tessa:Β Strange the Dreamer β Just mind-blowing. The writing and the intelligence of this book had me hooked. I honestly didnβt want to stop reading it. The characters were fully fleshed and very human, and the questions that kept going through my mind while reading itβ¦ some were answered, some werenβt. It was just a really well made book.
Ryan’s BedΒ by Tijan <—Β Another Tessa February Favorite!
Tessa:Β Ryanβs Bed by Tijan β Very emotional and those last lines really hit you and makes you understand what you read in a whole new light.
- Beartown: A NovelΒ by Fredrik Backman <—Β TASHA JUST 5-STAR LOVED IT (even more than Β A Man Called Ove)!!
Tasha: …it was fantastic! I loved A Man Called Ove, I 5 starred it even, it made my list for best of the year, but this one is so much more!! I think every one of you would love it just as much.
I kind of sort of went in blind because I didnβt remember anything from the blurb except it was about hockey, Fredrik Backman wrote it and itβs been on plenty must read lists. OMG is it ever a must read!!! Itβs about so much more than hockey.
It started off a little slow, but not enough to not keep me intrigued. And there are a lot of characters to get to know, but maybe 40% or so, you really start to get to the big part of this story and it gives you so many feels. From the small town community to the hardships the people face, the strength of the hockey club and team loyalty, the screwed up relationships, but yet their strong bonds and love, the anger and outrage you feel at the big conflict, and even the adrenaline the big games make you feelβ¦so good!
Iβm still super peeved at the injustice of some things, but awesome read.
AUDIOBOOK LVERS
For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe youβve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to βlistenββ¦ check out theΒ free audible trial + 2 freeΒ audiobooks dealΒ β>
- AND! Hereβs the fun-tool again! β>Β Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE!Β <β
Β This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it βMatchmakerβ)! Itβs an Amazon feature, that scans all of your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!
BeartownΒ by Frederik Backman <—Β Kandace LOVED this one like Tasha did! But she listened to it…
Kandace:Β I listened to Beartown this week. Has anyone else read it? I canβt stop thinking about it. Itβs not our usual romance trope. It was so much more. It was about first crushes, Love a parent has for a child. The love of friends. The love of marriage. Andβ¦ the love a town has for their hockey team. Something awful happens and everyone in the townβs loyalty is challenged. Thereβs such a fine line between innocence and bad. Itβs never a straight story. I cried a few times. I didnβt think I would love the story like I did.

Good morning! Happy Friday! I’m finishing up the Of Love and Madness series (awesome, angsty rock star series!) and then I’m on to Behind the Bars!
Good morning! Iβve got a couple chapters left in Ghosted, love it! I should have read it sooner. Thinking about Jellicoe Road next.
Good morning my friends!!! π
Good Morning.
I love Jellicoe Road. Just be warned it takes people awhile to get into it.
But it was so good.
Thank you Bev, I will keep that in mind. Too often I put aside books that start slowly but I will stick with it since Iβve only heard good things about the book.
TGIF!!!!! Just finished Up in Smoke by T.M. Frazier…… great book! Love this series! It can definitely be read as a standalone!
Kim’s comment up there about Crux Untamed has me twitchy! I love that series so much too! But I decided to read about a cowboy first since I’m heading to Nashville this weekend…. Wild Country by H.J. Bellus!
I totally forgot to tell you guys! Look what I bought last weekend.
https://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=149503/Lips-Sheer—Leslie/Buxom/Lip-Gloss
Its *almost* as cool as my “F off, I’m reading” socks.
*waves…my shovel* We’re snowed in… again. But the good news is, the power is back on, for now. Gah, Mother Nature isn’t screwing around. Tuesday, it was 70… today, I’ve got 20+ inches of fresh snow on the ground, heavy wet, ice underneath, snow… I’m not sure my lilacs or my dogwood and crabapple trees are going to make it. *sniffle*
But… at least the power is back on. It was a LONG morning with my kids and no power… it was starting to get chilly in here, too!
Helloooooo ladies!
I’m almost DONE my Taxes yipeeee *waves at ELALOO who is still far away at Tax School*
AND THHHHEEENNNN I finally get to spend the whole weekend READING all my awesome challenges from MARYSE’S GRs POSSE!
Yup that’s right I have the whole weekend off (because I was on call for like 2 weeks straight GERRRR) BUT whatever I get to read all weekend so there!
Hey Naynay let me know when you start Behind the Bars I might join you –
hopefully we have better luck this time lol
Kandace!!! if you are around – how was the Narrator of Bear Town its on my TBR but I LOVES ME the A-Books teehee
I really loved In Harmony. Definitely one of my best reads this year so far. So many feels. Finally picked up Room 212 and am loving it too!
It’s snowing here too and VERY windy, with gusts up to 65 mph. Crazy weather. I’m finishing an ARC and then will decide what to read next. TGIF!!!
Happy Friday my lovely ladies!! *waves from recliner* I had a some trouble in the hospital but I’m home now and recuperating. π Percocet is my best friend right now.
Carrying over from the other post, I am now addicted to Stephanie Lange’s videos, thank you very much Maryse!
My most recent favorite palette is Too Faced White Peach. There seem to be mixed reviews on it, but for me (being pretty fair skinned) the pigmentation is perfect.
Oh man, I would KILL for a ripe, juicy white peach right now…
I would LOVE To Faced White Peach!!! It is HIGHLY counterfeited though, so we have to be careful of who we’re being it from. The source would be best…
And I LOVE peaches.
*snuggles Amy* I hate that you had trouble in the hospital That scares me.
Sorry to hear that Amy. But am glad you are home and recuperating.
Yay Sandi! Ghosted was one of my absolute favorites last year, and Jellicoe Road took me a little bit to fully get into but when I finally did, oh man…that one still has a special place right in my heart right where it bruised it. I loved how the author pulled everything together after all of the what-the-heck-is-going-on??
And Marina reading Room 212…I love that people are STILL discovering how fantastic it is years later!
Thanks bev. π
Amy, sorry to hear you had trouble. Glad you’re now home and I hope your hubby is home to take care of you.
Lisa babe glad all went well…. Wait Wait What kind of trouble?????
Yes Percβs are fantastic just drink lots of H2O to prevent getting bunged up π
Morena book buddies!
Loving this list – so many good books! Bought Cake because it sounds hilarious and Shield – gotta support Kiwi authors! <3
LOL Kooloo!!! They gave me two different meds to prevent that. π
I didn’t have life-threatening trouble, just extremely painful trouble. My temp and BP became elevated, and then I started puking up my clear liquid diet…let me tell you, throwing up with a very fresh and almost 5-inch incision running between my belly button and navel was enough for me to not care if I lived or died for a few seconds. π
Then (fair warning, TMI) gas started building up and I looked about 6 months pregnant and holy moly it hurt! I never thought I would have no shame in crop dusting an entire unit while walking laps around the floor, but dammit the relief was so wonderful and the nurse so hilarious in cheering every time I did that I just did not care. LOL!!!
Hahaha Amy. I’m sorry for what you went through, and hope you’re better soon. But you have introduced me to a new euphemism. ‘Crop-dusting’. LOL. I thought I’d heard it all with 3 sons. but apparently not.
Ooh, Amy, you poor thing! I hope that have you good and taken care of now. Pain sucks. Glad you’re home!!
Kooloo–I’m hoping to start it tonight. I’m getting ready to get back to my other book. I’ll let you know.
Hi Amy, so sorry to hear what you’ve been going through! Hope you are on the mend.
Room 212 has been on my list since Drive (even though I think I’ve read another by Kate Stewart) but she’s a definite go to now. Finished and I’m picking up books I have had on my tbr and finally starting Hideaway. And now I’m re-intrigued by Jelicoe Road which has been on my list for years!
Oh Amy, that’s horrible to be in pain like that.
But now it is done. No more attacks.
I am scared of the whole operation. Yet, when I’m having a bad attack if there was a Dr. With a scalpel present I’d be all, Take it out! Lol.
Crop Dusting!!!!!! LMAO!!!!!
Oh Amy! I hope youβre feeling better. I had the same issue with a surgery, they pump you with gas for the surgery and then youβre left to suffer after until itβs gone. So I know what you mean about having no shame walking around βcropdustingβ lol
*jumps on Nay’s bed*
*shakes her awake*
*hands her cup off coffee and Behind the Bars*
*slinks out of Nay’s house as that may have been a bit inappropriate*
OMG!!!! LOL Leslie!!!!!!!! π
*giggles*
I’m awake and reading, Leslie! Sorry–forgot to update. I’m at 22% and things are starting to pick up!
I’m going to make a BR thread on GR since Kooloo’s reading it too..
Glad you’re in the mend,Amy. I swear, I feel like I’m a newborn while in the hospital: it’s all about “eating, drinking, pooping, and passing gas” with celebrations & praise… and look! She’s walking!!! Gah! They have me Simethicone to break down the gas… same as we give babies.., that helps.
So I finally finished To Love Jason Thorn…..it only took 2 months.
One tbr challenge book down. Whoohooo!
*tosses confetti on Bev*
Thank you.
I will conquer this challenge.
I will.
So, just a few eps of Healer left. I’m watching them sloooowly. I don’t want to let them go. Especially, the OTP. They make me so happy. You know when you like the H and h separately and then you put them together and your giddy? That’s me.
Amy, hope you’re feeling better today.
I finished the ARC I was reading. Now trying to decide what to read next but, my laptop charger died and I’m having trouble figuring out my tbr list on my kindle app on my phone. Ugh! Guess I should just get my lazy butt up and to the Apple Store.
I just choked on my Diet Coke at “crop dusting”!! I hope you’re feeling better Amy. <3
What are we crop dusting? It sounds dirty. π
Um…..
Guess it could be dirty…
Everyone–if you have Bank of America, check your account. Ours got hacked. Two charges totaling $803.00 this afternoon. But by the time BOA contacted us (they froze our debit card), they had already put the money back into our account, thank goodness!
They told us to call them immediately, but my husband has been on hold for 25 minutes, so we’re thinking it happened to a lot of people.
Wow, I think I slept for almost 24 hours!
Glad I could give you all a good laugh with the whole crop dusting image, LOL!! And seriously, the love and snuggles here brought tears to my eyes when I read them. THANK YOU ALL! <3
"it's all about "eating, drinking, pooping, and passing gas" with celebrations & praise… and look! She's walking!!!" <——– BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! OMG MichelleS, that's exactly what it's like! There is NO shame when in the hospital. π
Maryse…check this out and then you’ll get the right image. π
https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=crop%20dusting
By the way ladies, I had an open procedure so I didn’t get my belly all inflated during surgery and all of the gas was…er…natural. *snort*
bev…don’t be afraid to get the surgery. Attacks are horrid (as you well know) but most surgeries are done laparoscopically without complications, and you will feel SO much better after. Mine was an open procedure for several reasons, the least of which was just reopening an old surgical scar instead of making a new one, but even so it was still worth it. I don’t like the thought of you hurting. π
Okay, I’m off to start Secret Lucidity now that I’m LUCID enough (see what I did there? :P) to read again…
Tee hee! I see what you did there.
Now gonna click the crop-dusting link…
*snort*!!!!!
Oh my. Okay I get it now. And yeah… now I get bev’s “uhhhh” reaction to my dirty comment.
Baahahahahahah now I’m cackling.
OH! Last comment before I bed down and book down…
To whoever suggested At This Moment…WHY would you do that to me?? It seemed perfect and I was all set to click it, and then I checked out the GR page where the author answers a spoilery question (thank goodness for her willingness to do that) and it’s one of those things I just can’t get past…and yet, I’m still fighting the urge to click it. DANGIT!
*gasp!!!*
*looks up At This Moment*
Lol.
I just started What The Librarian Did (finally) for the rock star portion of January. Already it is charming. Knock on wood it stays that way. A quick charming romantic read sounds perfect for today.
Down to my last ep of Healer. I will press play sometime today. I am going to be super sad to let this one go. I keep re watching part of episodes. Just….gah…..i Love it so.
Love it.
Love it.
Love it.
Yesterday, the library had Abbi Glines’ After the Game. I literally stopped what I was reading to read it. Seriously good, with my only complaint being his “issue” seemed added for him to have one. Still, I loved it. π
NOW you get it, Maryse, LOL!!! π
bev…I plan on giving it a shot this week. It’s on TLC, right? I’ll check the on-demand channel for it.
Tessa…I haven’t read an Abbi Glines book in SO long, and I’m pretty sure I have the first two books in that series. So the series is worth the read? *sigh* I remember very vividly falling in love with Rush and Blaire…
What?
No.
Lol.
I almost wish I didn’t know because the confusion between us would of been epic and hilarious.
I just looked it up.
He’s an energy healer.
That made me snort.
That’s funny.
It is a K drama.
(I’m still laughing.)
You can stream it for free on Viki tv or Drama Fever. I watched most of it on DF, because I could down load them, but I think maybe Viki has better subs.
Maybe Netflix but I don’t have that, so I don’t know.
If not free, then don’t worry about it. But I think it is because it is an older show.
I still haven’t watched final. I don’t want to let go.
Any way this is Healer.

Amy, who didn’t fall for Rush and Blair? I really do love the series. It has so much angst and heart. I saw I put 4 stars for the first but I think it’s because I read it right after Capture by Rachael Van Duke and they both have the mute problem. (weird coincidence)
Heya all! I still haven’t read anything, I’ve been busy running around everywhere or shopping online. I think nesting, or just getting life in order. I truly did hibernate all winter, didn’t even go to the grocery. And I’ve tentatively been feeling better so I’m all over the place trying to catch up with everything. Easter’s done! And spring clothes/shoes have been bought! And swim champs are over! And all fundraisers have been caught up on! And forms filled out, a brand new couch designed and ordered, best of all though…I got my darn Girl Scout cookies!! Lol I even watched the Netflix movies I’ve been keeping for probably 6 months now. I started watching Riverdale today. I had no idea what I was getting into, I thought maybe there was some supernatural to it or something, but it doesn’t seem that way. I’m liking it so far!
OMG, Maryse–I just finished a read-fest with At This Moment and the following two books, which is an epic saga about a rock star and the love of his life spanning 25 years. Talk about being put through the wringer and having your guts ripped out, chewed up and stomped on. That’s what this series did to me and I LOVED every minute of it! It was also VERY well written and edited. I’d be a happy, happy girl if I could read a series like this once a month!
OMG Nay!!! I just posted that reading order yesterday ’cause Amy was having qualms about wanting to read it badly…. YAY!! Okay I’m SO ON IT!!! Just one-clicked the first. π YAY ME!!!
Yay to Amy and Tasha both feeling good. π
I am laughing at Nay and how much she loves getting her heart ripped out. I can only handle those types of reads every once in a while.
I have been in a “not feeling like reading” mood lately. Not sure why, but its taking me forever to finish some books. Anyway, been watching random movies and just started watching 1st season of my soap from 1987! Hilariously cheesey. (I have only been watching it for 6 years)
