HAPPY LABOR DAY LONG WEEKEND EVERYONE!! What a wonderful Monday! Now, there aren’t too many on today’s list (which was to be expected, since so many of us are gathering with family and friends), but still a few that are plenty awesome sounding!
Although I won’t be attending any get-togethers with my contaminated self today. Yep. Still! Since Friday, and this cold is going strong. I’m spending the day in bed reading, as I have been ALL this long weekend ’cause I’ve been incapacitated (and I’m a big baby and milking it for all it’s worth)!!! 😉 *hrmph* But, that just means I needed to rest… and read. And ohhhhh how I HAVE been.
In fact! I have a new book review up (in case you missed it) and I 5-STAR LOVED IT!! ➔ Book Review – Ghosted by J.M. Darhower
EARLY BIRDS THAT JUST WENT LIVE RIGHT NOW!
- Drumline by Stacy Kestwick <— HE’S HER RIVAL ALERT BUT SHE’S AUDITIONING ANYWAY!!!! “…Reese Holland shows up with her long legs and no-bullsh*t attitude to audition for the prestigious all-male Rodner University snare line. It doesn’t matter how much hazing she has to endure from Laird Bronson, with his narrowed green eyes and arrogant smirk. She wants that damn spot, and she’s more than good enough to earn it...”
Long for Me (Luminous) by Stacey Lynn <— SHE WALKS INTO A CLUB & SEES HER BOSS AS A DOM ALERT!! “I knew Rebecca Morales would be the perfect assistant. That’s why I hired her. I didn’t know that working with her every day would lead to temptation—to own her, to possess her. When she walked into Luminous, I knew I was screwed. Dipping your pen in the company ink is never smart, but we both agreed what happens at the club stays there. One night and then it’s back to business tomorrow…”
- Looking In by Michael Bailey <— M/M ROMANCE ALERT! “David and Adam feel the connection between them, but David has built walls around his heart that no one has bothered to break through, until Adam…”
- Honey and Heat by Rian Durant <— M/M ROMANCE ALERT! “Linden has only one thing on his mind a few days away from Christmas—his pending university exams. That is, until he meets his neighbors’ son who has returned for the holidays. Brice Stevens is gorgeous, but he’s insufferable…”
Play Room: A Society X Novel by L.P. Dover & Heidi McLaughlin <— DON’T BREAK THE RULES OR YOU’RE OUT… “Rule #1 – No names. It doesn’t matter if you want to know, it’s forbidden. Rule #2 – No exchanging numbers. It doesn’t matter if you want to call, it’s forbidden. Rule #3 – Everything is to remain strictly anonymous. It doesn’t matter if you want to tell, it’s forbidden. Whatever your desire. Whatever your fetish. The Play Room is the place to go…”
- The Baby Project (The Kingston Family) by Miranda Liasson <— HE’S ALL TOO WILLING TO “DONATE” 😉 “Liz Kingston spends her life delivering babies and longs for one of her own. All she needs is someone with fabulous genetic material. Who better to ask than her sexy ex-fling, who has no interest in ever settling down or being a father…”
- Billionaire in Her Bed by Regina Kyle <— SHE DOESN’T REALIZE HE’S THE BILLIONAIRE SHE’S FIGHTING AGAINST! “Real estate mogul Eli Ward needs to keep a low profile on his new project. He’s expecting a fight from the somewhat eclectic folks currently living there. What he doesn’t expect is for that fight to be led by Brooke Worthington, the woman who rocked his world one unforgettable night. The one woman who doesn’t know who he is, which is a good thing. She just sees him as a regular guy. It’s refreshing…”
The Fight Of My Life by Sienna Grant <— HER HUSBAND IS HANDSOME BUT BRUTAL… and then HE comes along… “Now married to Antonio, Jasmine has everything she could ever want. A big house, fancy cars, designer clothes and expensive jewellery, but the one thing she really needs isn’t included…love. When fighter Cole Sinclair comes along, a spark is ignited...”

Happy Monday!
I am a little sad as thia weekend is the unofficial end of summer here. 🙁
Yeah but…. but!!!!!! It’s the start of the beautiful crisp, leaves-and-wood smells of FALL, and Halloween, and Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Years!!! Pumpkin SPICE EVERYTHING!!!! :D!! THIS is the “start” for me. This is when I come alive. 😀
How is it the unofficial end? Things just close like pools and stuff?
Midnight! (or in my case, 9pm-ish) Three books are going to be mine and I’ll be left with the awesome decision of what to read first.
For now, though, Drum line will be a one click as soon as I can. Is it me or does that sound “bully”! Well, the word hazing gave that impression anyway.
Tessa… I was SO tempted to post “BULLY ALERT” on that one, but I wasn’t 100% sure. But yes… to me, it sounds like it will have that bully-feel (even if just “light”). 😉
It always seems the end because it is the last day of summer vacation. At least here.
Ahhhhhhh twinkling lights, and jack-o-lanterns, and merry songs, and bundling up and rosy cheeks, and warm-smelly candles, and hot chocolate and lots of snuggles.
Oh yes. We are coming into the best time of the year, if you ask me. 😀
Agree. I love fall and winter.
But Maryse…..you live in Florida, lol. How often do you have rosy cheeks from the cold? Didn’t think Jack Frost visited that often.
LOL bev! He visits many times in my area. I’m in the “frost” zone. Mind you, it’s still a VERY easy winter (flip flops and jeans and a sweater for most of it), but there are nights where I have to bring in all my potted plants so they don’t freeze overnight, and my heat runs a lot. 🙂
And the wood stoves are going (not at my place though) and it smells so wonderful. Crisp air… so fresh. I can’t wait!
You should make a list for fall. Books for crisp autumn days and cold nights.
Tessa, here (in Massachusetts) the public beaches/pools etc. close this weekend and most people close their private pools too. 🙁 The season is way too short.
That’s so sad! We can stretch summer clear to Halloween most years! But I’m with Maryse. That first chill when you can literally smell the air changing. Favorite time of year hands down. Usually happens mid Oct for us.
Deathtrap, book 3 in Dannika Darks Crossbreed series went live today!! I love, love , love Dannika Dark! If your into PNR, she’s the Girl for you. Seriously, you can’t go wrong with any of her books.
Also, don’t forget Five, which is the last book in the Rook and Ronin series is up for pre- order.
September is shaping up nicely so far!
Happy Labor Day everyone!
I’m adding it, and your recommendation to tomorrows NEW RELEASE list, Robyn. Thank you!!! 😀
Leslie, that makes sense. Here, the public pool closed at the beginning of August. Schools started a week and a half later. And beaches are just open constantly, though at the end of Sept, there might not be any lifeguards.
Private pools just stay open. Why close your own pool?
Maryse, right? My favorite time is coming!! Fall and Winter. Almost no allergies except to Christmas trees, which only affects me if I’m actually decorating or touching the thing or sleeping in the same room with it. (Yep, fake tree here!) And and and! Decorating! It’s the seasons of decorating! Lights, pumpkins, ghost, elves, snowflakes, bats! Also, the first rain. It’s probably a CA thing, but the first rain of the season has a specific smell that signals the Christmas season starting.
And there is also that SLIM hope it snows!
Deathtrap? *adds another book to the wishlist*
Why close your own pool…..in Massachusetts? I feel like there could be some reasons.
Tessa is a California girl. 😉
LOL bev!!!!!!
You cracked me up so hard. 😛 Funny Tessa because sure enough, my mom was floating in her pool all day last week (in Canada), and got a tan, and this week she’s got the heat on in her house and says it’s SO cold. So fast…
It’s supposed to be spring here now but it still feels like midwinter. We’re getting a late icy blast! I’m not working today so, another day of reading by the fire. *cries crocodile tears*
Born and bred. 🙂 So, in Massachusetts it’s suddenly cold at the beginning of Sept? Seriously, here it doesn’t cool off until sometime in October. Besides, fall doesn’t start until 9/22. I’m honestly confused.
I can’t WAIT for Fall!!!! Halloween, cool weather, rain, the sights, the smells, the flavors…it’s my favorite time of year. 😀
There may be some gems up there, but I am absolutely CONSUMED with Ghosted and only have eyes for it right now. You know what the feels remind me of? The feels from Bad Romeo and Broken Juliet, with the deliciously combined angsts of the past and the present, both unfolding perfectly and simultaneously. *sigh* THIS is why I read.
lol See! That makes no sense to me. Saturday was 108. Today it was “cooled off” at 84 and humid. lol It’s heat season! 😀
Our change of season is on the first of the month. e.g. It’s Spring on the 1st of September. For many years I naively assumed it was the same everywhere, and was shocked to find there are places in the world where the change is on 22nd of the month etc. I was like…. WTAH???????? I know, I know…… *laughs tolerantly at ignorant younger self*
Everyone is raving about Ghosted, so i suppose I’d better try it. I’m still reeling from the wonder that is Suanne Laqueur’s upcoming one – A Charm Of Finches. I just finished an ARC, and I’ve got serious book hangover. Nothing else seems to measure up at the moment……
Until you said something, I had no idea at all Jan. 🙂 Ours isn’t a big deal and it just falls on the equinox.
And, I have my books. And… I am stuck with the fun problem of, what to read first? I’m thinking Intensity, because I think I won’t have any troubles jumping into Tower right after. Tower might consume me.
Ah yes. The equinox makes sense. I guess our down-under seasons just don’t match up as well so they adjusted the dates for us.
The weather here is just stupid. Grrrrr. I want to live in S. Florida or S. California. Anyway Tessa, at this point in season, it gets too cold at night that unless you have a heated pool, (which no one I know does) the water cools down too much to make swimming feasible. It stinks!!
I can’t wait to read Ghosted too!! Hopefully I can fit it in sometime this month.
Tessa, same here. Triple digits and suppose to cool to the 90s, lol.
How is the smoke where you are? I feel like the whole West coast is on fire.
Yep, erratic weather here as well…it’s supposed to be about 97 today and by Thursday down to the mid 70’s. Even after several years here, I still am not used to the weather.
I am definitely more of a beach person. 😉
Are cool down of being 80s hit. Thank goodness!
No fire near me. I’m up in Silicon Valley, Northern CA by San Jose. Closest is near Gilroy.
We left some windows open overnight and ended up with ash all over the windowsills and even the clean dishes in the dish rack. Ugh! And my poor car is covered in ash.
Yep bev, it feels like the whole west coast is on fire. 😕
OMG AMY!!!!! That’s awful!
We have been in very unhealthy to hazardous air quality for a couple weeks. Can not see any sky or mountains and that freaky red sun. We need rain and cool temps.
It was! So I had to leave without being able to clean everything, and then some of the ash got on my black scrub pants which then smeared when I tried to brush it off. I think I used every cuss word there is this morning, LOL!
Ooooooh you’re right bev, the red sun HAS been freaky. The red color was actually coming into my house today and it was WEIRD.
Eep, you are close to one, Amy! I hate when ash gets over everything. Hopefully, it doesn’t spread and get to close to you!
Whoah. That’s freaky. Hard for me to imagine, with another freezing morning here LOL!
I know, Tessa…we are pretty much surrounded by fires right now. 😕 Thankfully it looks like we are safe and will stay that way though.
Now we just have to worry about Maryse and that b!tch Irma…
Right? I saw five and the only word that went through my head was… not something I’m typing out.
Ugh. Hurricanes.
I’m so relieved by the time this hurricane hits, my cold will be gone. I hope. 😉
Stupid hurricanes.
