P.S. For those looking for scandalous angsty romance a la “Arsen” don’t forget to check out this week’s brand new list (it’s already one of my most popular lists. It would seem that so many of us love the hurt!): What to Read After Arsen… A “Cheating in Romance Books” List!

P.P.S. THIS ONE is officially up for pre-order!!!! *gasp* The Beast: A Novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward (Rhage’s book!!!!)

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free ebooks deal —>

  • AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!

  2. Beauty and the Biker by Alexa Riley <— PHYSICALLY SCARRED BIKER HERO ALERT (and it was released just a couple of days ago AND it’s at a rock bottom price!) “The blast left me scarred, inside and out. How could I ever be good enough for a beauty like her? She deserved better. Now I’ve got the Ghost Riders Motorcycle Club, and I don’t need anything else. If I can’t have her, I’ll never have another. A man can live without his heart…right?
  3. Kaleidoscope Hearts by Claire Contreras <— OOOOOH HE BROKE HER HEART ALERT!! “He was my older brother’s best friend. He was never supposed to be mine. I thought we would get it out of our system and move on. One of us did. One of us left.” *gasp*!!! Plus it’s on super-bargain!!

Overnight, Sean transforms from loving boyfriend to dangerous adversary, and Abby no longer knows who she can trust among her friends and family.” So she has to hire a bodyguard…
  5. Entice (Eagle Elite Book 3) by Rachel Van Dyken <— Courtney’s hooked! “Entice by Rachel Van Dyken. This series has me hooked. My productivity has gone to zero after one clicking them all.”
  6. Happiness for Beginners: A Novel by Katherine Center <— IN HER 30′s & NEWLY DIVORCED Sadie recommends this one BIG time!! “I just read one that I loved called “happiness for beginners.” I think Claudia read it too and i highly recommend it. 5 stars for me… I read it in a day and it really had it all. It reads like a movie.” Oh this does sound good! She’s just recently divorced and going on a “getaway” but “…when she discovers that her brother’s even-more-annoying best friend is also coming on the trip, she can’t imagine how it will be anything other than a disaster. Thus begins the strangest adventure of Helen’s well-behaved life: three weeks in the remotest wilderness of a mountain range in Wyoming where she will survive mosquito infestations, a surprise summer blizzard, and a group of sorority girls...”
  7. Rafe (Inked Brotherhood Book 5) by Jo Raven <— DISTANT HERO ALERT!! Marisa loves this series! “I’m reading Rafe by Jo Raven! It’s the 5th in the Inked Brotherhood series and all 5 books have been amazing!!” Oh wow… he’s reclusive… “He’s tall, strong, handsome. Distant. He often comes to the coffee shop where I work, but we don’t talk much. He looks at me, though. Stares at me, his gaze heated, and I can’t help but stare back. I want him, I won’t deny it. I’ve never seen anyone that beautiful, anyone that powerful, in my life.
But he’s growing more withdrawn by the day.
  8. Hawthorne & Heathcliff by R.K. Ryals <— SOUNDS HEARTWARMING & ANGSTY ALERT & RIGHT UP OUR ALLEY ALERT!! Jamie recommended it, and Dawn agrees: “Just finished The Paper Swan and Hawthorne & Heathcliff!!! Both AMAZINGGGG… 5 star reads for me!!!” ”Senior year, last period English class, and a pair of silent tennis shoes resting next to hers in the back of the room throws Hawthorne into a world she’d learned to stay outside of. His name is Max Vincent, but in her mind, he’s Heathcliff. The handsome eighteen-year-old boy behind the shoes will pull Hawthorne into a passionate and unforgettable adventure of self-discovery during a time when love seems impossible.
  9. Make You Burn (The Deacons of Bourbon Street) by Megan Crane <— BIKER BOOK ALERT! Kimberly is enjoying this one! “A new MC book. Make You Burn by Megan Crane. It is part of The Deacons of Bourbon Street. I’m about half way and loving it!”
  10. The Life Intended by Kristin Harmel <— GETTING REMARRIED AFTER THE DEATH OF HER HUSBAND BUT SOMETHING’S AMISS ALERT!!!! Jeanie loved this one! “The Life Intended – Really amazing!” Oh YES! Sounds amazing! “After her husband’s sudden death over ten years ago, Kate Waithman never expected to be lucky enough to find another love of her life. But now she’s planning her second walk down the aisle to a perfectly nice man. So why isn’t she more excited?” (her husband is trying to tell her something in her dreams…) Ooooooooooh.

The author is Shay Mara (new to me) – Torched and Torched: Afterburn are the two books out so far. Who Do You Love and The Moment of Letting Go are definite one-clicks for me. One week until Before We Were Strangers!!!! :D

I know the PG will not be happy with me over this, but I’m kinda glad The Beast won’t be out until April because it gives me a chance to get caught up on the BDB series…don’t give me that look, I’m only about halfway through the series!

Amy August 11, 2015 at 1:12 PM

OMG Jean…I was typing the same thing about The Beast when you posted your comment. GO VIRGOS!!!!

Jean August 11, 2015 at 1:38 PM

Amy August 11, 2015 at 2:37 PM

Well, don’t I just feel like the brightest bulb in the hall…I one-clicked WDYL without paying attention to the price, and now I’m the proud owner of a 12.99 book. :?

Would it be awful if I returned it?

Jean August 11, 2015 at 2:45 PM

Amy that price was what stopped me. You can return it or Guinea pig it for us! Lol!

Maryse August 11, 2015 at 2:45 PM

I’m about to pause what I’m currently reading for Undeniably You, after that rec!

Maryse August 11, 2015 at 2:46 PM

I do that all the time too, Amy… I don’t even look. *sigh*

*shakes head* :?

Ela August 11, 2015 at 2:48 PM

Cheryl August 11, 2015 at 2:56 PM

The power of the one-click button. ;)

Hey I’ve returned before for premature clicking…

Amy August 11, 2015 at 3:01 PM

Y’all are rotten, LOL! Well, you are Jean and Ela…at least Maryse is sympathizing with me. Guinea pigging and conference calling my a$$!!! I already took one for the team with GM. :P

Hang on, I just noticed something about Undeniably You being an “Amy book” and heart and gut damage. UY, is that the one with the topless chick and the dog holding her bikini top?? I have it! :D But I never would have guessed about the visceral reaction from THAT cover. I may have to try it out after Silver Shadows (still spending time with Adrian!). But guess what Maryse? YOU are guinea pigging that one!

Ela August 11, 2015 at 3:01 PM

Now that you mention “premature” I have other things on my mind *gasp*

Amy August 11, 2015 at 3:03 PM

Not that I don’t trust you Marit…oh lord, can I have some help pulling my foot out of my mouth? :?

“Premature clicking” <—– Yep, that term is fitting. ;)

Ela August 11, 2015 at 3:05 PM

Oh Amy! I was just kidding you know? I swear! Although, it’s not totally taking one for the team cause we’d be there listening, ya know? No? Not a good idea? Alrighty then, enjoy Adrian and return what could be the next Nobel prize winning book, probs not, *snickering*.

Amy August 11, 2015 at 3:05 PM

*snort* Ela, our book guys NEVER have that problem. :P

Ela August 11, 2015 at 3:12 PM

Nope never! Most of the time they can keep going and going and going and going and going (you get my point), the energizer bunny gots nothing on them. I just read a book where is took him all of 2 minutes to recover *not real life*….hmmmmmm now what was that book???? The Paper Swan for sure and The Story of Son and about every other romance book!

Michelle August 11, 2015 at 3:16 PM

Kim Harrison has a new series!!!!! I’m reading that little teaser intro book like NOW!

Also really excited to read the new Tillie Cole MC book. I have books 2 & 3 lined up. Took a mini-break and read Shattered and Scarred by AJ Downey and unfortunately it was missing a lot for me – should have went with Heart Recaptured to satisfy my MC itch!

Anne August 11, 2015 at 3:32 PM

We should BR Before We Were Strangers :) I’ve been waiting for that book for so long and finally its almost here!

Ela August 11, 2015 at 3:40 PM

I am definitely in for the BR!

Cheryl August 11, 2015 at 4:24 PM

Amy, I was thinking the same thing from the cover to Undeniably You-somehow had me thinking it was a lighthearted, smexy read. Adding to my tbr after that rec.

Marit August 11, 2015 at 4:40 PM

Yay you for trying Undeniably you ;) !! Take Care of your guts, girls. It’s going to get ripped out.

Ela August 11, 2015 at 4:43 PM

Sounds like fun :(

Marit August 11, 2015 at 4:44 PM

And Amy. UY tok me by surprise!! I was expecting a funny and romantic read. It was that, but OMG it got twisted! I was like NO WAAAAAAY when I got to the middle of it ;) So enjoy the show :)

Grey August 11, 2015 at 5:17 PM

The Beast??? *fist pump* does this mean I have hopes for more V someday???

Broke my tablet charger, new one will be here tomorrow…but for now I’m relegated to reading on my phone. #FirstWorldProblems, right?

I need a new book…something that is going to wow me… *twirls a lock of hair around my finger* come know you wanna…

Give me a book suggestion, I mean! *mutters about dirty birdies*

Michelle August 11, 2015 at 5:32 PM

YES Grey! Finally someone who didn’t love Good! That book did NOTHING for me and I felt deficient or something :(

Um a rec…what are ya in the mood for? Give us a little more…

Just got Sideswiped yey but don’t disappoint me Kim Harrison *fingers crossed*

Fabi August 11, 2015 at 5:38 PM

*sigh* I’m so behind. I’m just getting around to reading Crossroads and that was what? a week or two weeks ago? Work is going to have to slow down at some point and then…watch out cause I’m going to dig a big hole in my tbr. :-)

Tessa August 11, 2015 at 5:40 PM

Grey, Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan. :P

Grey August 11, 2015 at 6:01 PM

Michelle… Yeah,it was ok. I dunno… Just didn’t blow me a way I guess. I have been quite spoiled lately with amazing reads (Tristan & Danika, Lahn & Circe…) I’m in the mood for dark smutty angst, *giggle*

Tessa, I do actually have that already on my kindle…

Grey August 11, 2015 at 6:04 PM

Fabi *hands Hermoine’s time-turner over* I feel your pain… Not right now because I’m on break, but I completely understand that feeling of wishing there were more hours in the day.

Sending my best out to you too Bev…hope things settle for you soon!

MichelleS August 11, 2015 at 6:14 PM

Dark smutty angst = Undeniable…. I agree with Tessa. Just WAIT until you meet Deuce!

MichelleS August 11, 2015 at 6:16 PM

Grey – I am thinking there will be a second book for all the original guys, don’t you? Wrath had his “The King”, now Rhage has his “The Beast”, so Z should be next if she keeps the same order as the originals? Anyone know if that’s that plan?

Anne August 11, 2015 at 6:18 PM

Oh yes Grey! You need to meet Deuce! I couldn’t put that book down! So good!

Jean August 11, 2015 at 6:23 PM

I agree Grey, Undeniable! It’s unanimous!

Michelle August 11, 2015 at 6:35 PM

Yeah seriously Grey Undeniable it is haha

Ela August 11, 2015 at 6:40 PM

YES YOU. NEE. TO. MEET. DUECE! Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan!

Grey August 11, 2015 at 6:44 PM

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Soon as my tribe is in bed…or rather home and fed from football practice, Undeniable is on the agenda!

Anne August 11, 2015 at 6:59 PM

Yaay! Let us know what you think! I really need to read Unbeautifully soon!

Maryse August 11, 2015 at 7:11 PM

But the thing is, MichelleS… Z already has his second book (Father Mine)…

so I worry she will not revisit him – not for awhile.

HOWEVER… she has frequently admitted that Z is her favorite, so….

Shirley Boynton August 11, 2015 at 7:11 PM

You have to read UY Maryse and Amy!! You will love it!! It was a re read for me and there are not many books I re read! One of my favorites ever!

Ela August 11, 2015 at 7:28 PM

Yay Grey! So curious what you’ll think!!! Remember 46%

Amy August 11, 2015 at 7:32 PM

Definitely Undeniable, Grey. That one is GRITTY. And angsty. And smutty. In other words, perfect. ;)

HOW did I have that gem (Father Mine) on my Kindle app for who knows how long and yet have never read it?!? I get more Z now!!! :D

MichelleS August 11, 2015 at 7:33 PM

So who all went to 46% to see what Ela was talking about? *raises hand*

fabi August 11, 2015 at 7:36 PM

It’s official, my brain has turned to mush. I don’t remember Undeniable but I’ve read it. :-( that makes me really sad

Amy August 11, 2015 at 7:38 PM

*raises hand*

Amy August 11, 2015 at 7:40 PM

Don’t be sad, Fabi…we’re having grape blow pop martinis tonight!!

Tessa August 11, 2015 at 7:48 PM

*begins jumping in joy* She’s going to read it! Yeah!
Now back to mind-messery.

MichelleS August 11, 2015 at 7:49 PM

Ok. Yeah. That part was bad. That’s why we love to hate him, because he was such a giant jerk!

Not going to get side tracked. On second book in that Warprize series, Keir is NOT a jerk. :-) just super Alpha! Rawr!

Michelle August 11, 2015 at 8:04 PM

46%…um I don’t get it…why is that an IT part? Maybe I need sleep…

Love Keir and the sexy gets sexier as the books continue ;)

Ok Sideswiped is just cool! Imaginative, unique, fresh – can’t wait to pick up book 1 in Sept!

fabi August 11, 2015 at 8:12 PM

Blow-pop Martinis tonight? *primly sits to wait* I can be a good girl when the treat is worth it. :-)

Amy August 11, 2015 at 8:20 PM

Yep! Bubble gum vodka, Dekuyper grape pucker and a splash of lemonade…yeah, it’s as yummy as it sounds.

Michelle…in the hallway…Deuce was being, well, Deuce. ;)

MichelleS August 11, 2015 at 9:59 PM

I have strawberry vodka. Now what? I took no wacky pain meds tonight, so I could partake.

fabi August 11, 2015 at 10:11 PM

MichelleS that sounds delicious.

I want this. I like sweet.

Dirty Strawberry recipe
1 oz strawberry vodka
1 oz Kahlua® coffee liqueur
1 oz cream

Add ingredients to glass with ice and stir. Garnish with strawberry. (I would dip those strawberry garnishes in sugar first). Did I mention I like sweet?

Amy August 11, 2015 at 10:21 PM

I was about to ask what ingredients you have MichelleS, but if you have Kahlua and cream I say go for Fabi’s recipe. That sounds crazy good!

Shirley, I’m starting it tonight…I have to try it out with all of the praise it’s getting! And the whole heart ripping out and gut stabbing thing upped the ante. ;) Yay!!

Cheryl August 11, 2015 at 10:22 PM

So when you guys are talking about Undeniable you just are talking about book 1 not the entire series? *sips on blow pop martini*

Amy August 11, 2015 at 10:33 PM

*looks at empty hand* Looks like I’m making more martinis!

Yeah, we are talking about the first one that is focused on Deuce and Eva. I really loved Unbeautifully (book 2, had a little bit of Deuce and Eva in it) but was mainly about Ripper and Danny, Deuce’s daughter. Ripper…*sigh* Another physically scarred H who you can’t help but love. I didn’t like Unattainable though mostly because I couldn’t stand Tegen. At all. To the point where I *wanted* Cage to be an a$$ to her and hurt her. And that’s pretty messed up. :?

Cheryl August 11, 2015 at 10:37 PM

Why does Who Do You Love have to be $12.99? Of course it sounds good- I can see why you one-clicked without noticing the price Amy. Ugh!! Hopefully there will be a price drop.

I read A Matter of Trust when it was fanfiction- really good!

Cheryl August 11, 2015 at 10:38 PM

Thanks Amy. I’m adding Undeniable to my tbr. :)

Tessa August 11, 2015 at 10:43 PM

*takes her blanky and manny into the blanket cave to hide* This book is overly intense. Intense! And, and, and… *puts her blanket over her head* I’m scared!

Unattainable sucked. Tegen was really awesome and then chapter one hit. Gah, I just dnf’d that one because I kind of wanted her gone.

*eyes tablet* So, any happy stories? Anyone? Strawberry vodka, khalua and cream. Sounds good. *mutters to self “I think I need it.”*

Amy August 11, 2015 at 11:01 PM

*gasps* You haven’t read it Cheryl? I thought you did! And here I am talking about it as if you had. :? I don’t think I spoiled anything…

Aw Tessa, what are you reading that’s making you need Manny and a blankie cave?!?

MichelleS August 11, 2015 at 11:07 PM

That sounds like a weird combination! I think the coffee Khalua & fruity strawberry wouldn’t go together? I have frozen limeaide? It’s like Fear Factor here… Just going for it!

I agree with everyone else. Undeniable for sure, and book 2 whenever… And 3… Well, Tegan was one angry girl!

Tessa August 11, 2015 at 11:07 PM

*peaks out, extremely traumatized* Fourth Debt. Just finished and it was good and soooo scary. Like super scary. As in, I had to use Google to look up the torture scary. But it wasn’t the torture that scared me. Nope. It was being at 85%ish and knowing something REALLY BAD was about to happen. So um…

Yeah, I loved it. I’m gonna stay in the blanky cave though, okay?

MichelleS August 11, 2015 at 11:09 PM

And book four was good… But book one is the real deal!

Grey August 11, 2015 at 11:33 PM

Deuce just had a *come to Jesus* moment with 5 boys in a barn…

Niki August 11, 2015 at 11:39 PM

Finished Magic Breaks Tessa!! I did not enjoy the first 40% or so but loved the last half!!! I’m excited to read Magic Shifts!!
I’m reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone right now and it has sucked me right in…so far so good.

I’m going to check out UY, Torched, and Sideswiped!!

Tessa August 11, 2015 at 11:48 PM

Dirty Strawberry is good! *takes her drink to the blanky cave* *cuddles with Manny* There. Safe from the evil people here.

Tessa August 11, 2015 at 11:50 PM

*yells from the blanky cave* Daughter of Smoke and Bone was good. Definitely different. I still loved the dinner in Magic Shifts the most. That was pure funny.

bev August 12, 2015 at 12:31 AM

I had to check in, new releases. Saw some posts, odd man out …..but EVA SUCKED!!!! SERIOUSLY SUCKED. Like girlfriend get a backbone! And please some self respect. Do not chase after dirty old men or use your *spoiler*’s *spoiler* to punish your self. Puhlease. She was one of those tell the reader everyone loves her special snowflake. But never showed her do any thing special or loving. She betrayed *spoiler* who was also completely unlikable. Covered up about *spoiler* who then bit others in the a$$. And went after Deuce even though he was * spoiler*.
Eva. *full body shudder.*
I think Teagan had a right to be angry. Her mom!!?? Please.
Ok being tired makes me cranky lol. Oh, and Deuce=nasty. You just know irl he’d be gross and smell.
This series is like LOA is to Fabi i couldn’t look away but then they insulted and offended me.
This is why I need to stay away. Tired bev =ranty bev. But irl i smell like lemongrass today, lol.

Amy August 12, 2015 at 12:34 AM

Here Tessa, let me have your empty glass…and here’s another one for you. *hands martini to Tessa* You sound like you need it. ;)

Amy August 12, 2015 at 12:37 AM

“Swarley’s magnetic attraction to a certain crotch is distracting. Although he’s not my dog, and I’m sure Dr. Abbott is used to it, I feel the need to explain his behavior.

“He must think you have a big piece of meat in there.”

The words come out of my mouth and my brain—that apparently has a two-second delay—catches up as I turn crimson.”

OMG!!! I think I’m in love with this character…that was just all kinds of awkward, and I am WAY too familiar with that type of awkward! :P

Tessa August 12, 2015 at 12:41 AM

*takes the martini* *gulps it*

What are you reading?

Tessa August 12, 2015 at 12:42 AM

And Hi Bev! *offers some dirty strawberry* Tegan was just pissed for a different reason. Not her mom, but because she was stupid. Then, that’s fin, be pissed, but! She leaves, has a personality change, and I hated her.

Amy August 12, 2015 at 1:14 AM

Cranky Bev, ranty Bev, sweet Bev…we luffs ya all the same. ;)

Tessa, I’m reading Undeniably You. I’m still early into the book so it’s too soon to say much, but that part had me cracking up!

Marit August 12, 2015 at 3:53 AM

Yay Amy. I’m liking that you Are quoting UY ;) The heroine is hilarious!

fabi August 12, 2015 at 6:21 AM

Hugs to Bev. I hate being that tired. So glad you popped in. Rant all you like. You deserve it.

Amy, those lines were really funny.

Ela August 12, 2015 at 8:14 AM

46% of Undeniable is relevant in its nastiness of how nasty Duece is, it’s just one of those moments in the book you think ewwwwwwwwwwww and then your panties melt at the same time but you keep thinking how wrong THAT is. Well darn now that’s a mouthful!!!!

Wasn’t Bev supposed to notice the Lisa Kleypas book????

Darn! I missed the drinking party! I drank wine by myself :(

Reading Souls Unfractured and let me tell you, Flame is one f*cked up H, like WTH am I reading f*cked up *gasp*

Cheryl August 12, 2015 at 8:36 AM

Makes me want to read UY even more Amy!! ;)

I don’t think you spoiled anything Amy.

bev August 12, 2015 at 8:46 AM

You all are sweet. And don’t be too sorry for me, I’m being a little dramatic about it, spoiled girl. And see pop up anyway. It’s only like 11/12 .hr day with commutes. So, not like you were doing or what our nurses probably do. Nurses rock, Cheryl & Grey.
Knowing early alarm why’d I have coffee when I got home & decide to finish a book late into the night?

Tessa August 12, 2015 at 9:20 AM

I don’t know if for me it was a drinking party or so much of a trauma drinking on my part. The book was sooooo good, but dang! I had to find something happy to sleep without nightmares.

Today for me, Dragonbane. Sherrilyn Kenyon always leaves me happy, even when she tortures her heroes.

Ela August 12, 2015 at 9:25 AM

Amy I come to your defense in your review of The Goodbye Man.

I see Tessa….hmmmmmmm….did not see that at all from that book, I guess I’ll have to read it during daylight???

I have to read Son of No One before Dragonbane.

Cheryl August 12, 2015 at 9:34 AM

Hey Amy & Maryse and any other makeup lovers here, what do you think of the UD naked smoky eyeshadow colors? Love all the smoky colors in that set. I need a smoky eye tutorial. Are they new colors?!

My daughter just picked out some crazy a$$ color at Sephora- Polished Purple; she’s into the crazy colors right now- even some on Lime Crime. Oh to be a teenager…

Tessa August 12, 2015 at 9:46 AM

Ela, it wasn’t horror scary. It was messed up. A good messed ujp and I absolutely loved it, but still messed up. It was a big emotional roller-coaster, but some of the stuff, yeah. I had to Google some pretty horrific stuff. The nightmares would have been from still thinking about it. I couldn’t stop. :)

Cheryl, those are pretty. I can’t do smokey eyes (deep set eyes), but those are definitely pretty for it.

Tessa August 12, 2015 at 9:48 AM

Oh. Honest opinion on Son of No One. I didn’t like it that much. I love most of hers, read them two or three times, but Son of No One was a one read only type. It really was just a set up for Dragonbane. The beginning was good, but most of it was rather blah.

Young August 12, 2015 at 9:53 AM

Late in the conversation but I totally second Bev. I know many of you loved Undeniable and Deuce, but I’m in the minority that didn’t like neither the story nor Duece/Eva. Can’t stand the cheating part (Deuce Uhh!) *ducking behind the peanut fort*
By the way, for anyone who didn’t read warprize, read! Loved Keir~~

Ela August 12, 2015 at 9:54 AM

Oh GREAT! I’ll have to skim then if that’s even possible?!

Thanks for the feedback on UY, now I’m even more excited to read it!

Cheryl – very pretty! I have a bad habit of “collecting” makeup, I buy it but rarely use it. In the mornings I just do something with my hair so it doesn’t look like I just got up.

MichelleS August 12, 2015 at 9:55 AM

Thank you Bev for making my morning! That rant was so funny. “Irl he’d be gross and smell.” LOL. He’s definitely NOT on my list of book husbands for sure. I wouldn’t want to hang with any of those people. I just like the level of gritty, and that’s where my mood takes me sometimes. I did like the side story about Tegan’s mom. Not so much the stand alone book, though. That was a real tear jerker.

Ela August 12, 2015 at 10:00 AM

Is it Warprize by Elizabeth Vaughan ?

MichelleS August 12, 2015 at 10:12 AM

Ela – not sure who you are asking, but YES – that’s the one that Michelle recommended under ‘What to read after Golden Dynasty” – Amy read it and love it, now I am reading it and loving it. I’m on book two.

Fabi August 12, 2015 at 10:20 AM

Tessa you’re going to read Dragonbane today? Jealous. It’s so pricey right now, I’ve been holding off. I agree with your opinion of Son of No One. That one left me baffled, it was so unlike (or as good) as the others.

Grey August 12, 2015 at 10:33 AM

I’m at 43% on Undeniable. Waiting on the cable man… getting new DVR and modem stuffs today…

Tessa August 12, 2015 at 10:37 AM

Fabi, I gave myself extra book money for my birthday because pricey books came out this month. :) Between that and Kate Daniels, it’s pricey month.

Ela August 12, 2015 at 10:46 AM

Thanks MichelleS! Will add to list!

I haven’t read any of the Kate Daniels books, they’re on my TBR though.

Grey, how you liking it???

ANN August 12, 2015 at 12:14 PM

Hi Everyone,
I saw a book you listed about a married woman and she was going on a long run somewhere. While their she is taken. I didn’t write down the name of the book and want to read it. It was a recent release. Any ideas?
Thank you

Cheryl August 12, 2015 at 12:53 PM

Ela, I do the same thing with makeup. I have UD palettes, but typically just use the same 2-3 colors. :) Think I’m going to schedule a makeup appt at Sephora. BTW, the purple for my daughter- LIP. stain. which compared to some lip colors on Lime Crime, could be worse.

Marit August 12, 2015 at 1:06 PM

Have any of you read any of the books in the Nicki Styx series? By Terri Garey. I have one clicked the first one ;) The blurb got me ;) *squeeeeeeee* Haha. So excited!

Amy August 12, 2015 at 1:43 PM

Oh man, Ela…am I drawing some negative attention over there? *sigh* Can’t say I didn’t bring it on myself, huh? ;) I’ll go check it out in a bit.

Ann, I’m not sure what book that is but I’ll try and find it for you…it sounds like an intriguing premise!

I’m going to finish up my work, run to the gym and then jump back into UY. I didn’t get very far last night, but so far I’m liking it! :D

Maryse August 12, 2015 at 1:48 PM

That’s the one I’m reading too!! I’m liking it also. Made me chuckle a few times… definitely love-triangle potential…

Maryse August 12, 2015 at 1:50 PM

*sigh* I messed up my back. Like hobbling and can’t find a comfortable position, and can’t sleep, and whining.

How, you ask?

I dunno. Reading? Typing… Sitting? LOL!!!!!!!

This is CRAZY.

fabi August 12, 2015 at 1:53 PM

Awww man, Maryse, so sorry to hear that. Back pain is the worst. And sometimes it happens like that. My brother slipped a disk picking up his briefcase. And he was only in his 30′s. Hope yours isny serious and you feel better soon.

Ela August 12, 2015 at 1:55 PM

Ha ha Cheryl!

Marit, I haven’t but see some of my GR friends have and liked.

Oh Amy Amy Amy! Your review is just fine and the spoilers hidden! People need to STOP harassing other reviewers when their opinions differ! And that’s what this is. That one girl actually changed her review after I pointed out that reviews are THE READER’S OPINION AND SHOULD NOT BE JUDGED!!!! I sent a PM to Tessa on GR of one of my friend’s reviews of another book NOW THAT WAS ATTACK! Even the author posted mean comments but then deleted her post.

I remember seeing something like what Ann mentions but for the life of me can’t remember where! It does sound intriguing.

Ela August 12, 2015 at 1:57 PM

Sorry Maryse for your pain! I hate back pain, you are so limited with what you can do!

Amy August 12, 2015 at 1:57 PM

Hang on, makeup talk?!? YAY!!!!

Cheryl, I bought the Naked Smoky palette as soon as it was available. I already have the other three palettes and love them, so I had to have that one too! The palette has some new colors as well as colors that were exclusive to other palettes in the past. I love doing a smokey eye but I never use black shadow because, well, I’m not a spring chicken anymore. ;) This tutorial for an easy smokey eye is great, and you could substitute with any colors you want…

Jaclyn Hill has a TON of great eye makeup tutorials, and she does a lot of smokey eyes from neutral to colorful to bold. Oh! MAC kohl liners in Costa Riche and Tarnish are staples for me because they smudge so well for a smokey eye. I usually use gel liner with a brush, but those kohls are amazing when you don’t want a defined line. Also, the kohl liner in Fascinating (white) is a must for when you don’t want the liner or shadow transferred to your waterline.

Marit August 12, 2015 at 2:01 PM

I’m sorry about your back, Maryse. Sometimes it helps to be in activity. You should get yourself a treadmill an put your kindle/iPad in front of you ;) Good recovery to you :)

Amy August 12, 2015 at 2:10 PM

Oh no Maryse, that’s awful! :( Back pain makes it difficult to do much of anything, even reading ’cause you can’t get comfortable. *gentle hugs*

Oh, here… *props pillows around Maryse* And this might help… *tucks heating pad behind her* And the final touch… *pours shot of whiskey in coffee* Hope you’re feeling better soon!

Amy August 12, 2015 at 2:11 PM

One more thing Cheryl, which Naked palette(s) do you have? I could give you the color combos I use if you want…

Shane August 12, 2015 at 4:11 PM

Hope you are feeling better Maryse… Great list. Can’t wait for The Beast, I know, I know it’s till next year but still…

Maryse August 12, 2015 at 4:19 PM

Ohhhh whiskey!!! AND coffee. My favorite.

Thanks guys. I’m not horrible or anything… just whiny.

Anne August 12, 2015 at 4:27 PM

Cheryl I really like the UD Smoky Palette. I don’t know if I am going to get it though. I reach for my MAC palettes more.

Finished the LUX series and loved it!! Daemon is so amazing. I am so happy I finally read them!

Don’t know what to read next. I am thinking Paper Swans.

Anne August 12, 2015 at 4:29 PM

Amy I have the first Naked palette. Any color combo suggestions?

Anne August 12, 2015 at 4:35 PM

Maryse so sorry about your back! That pain is so awful. Big hugs and a speedy recovery :)

I love Jacklyn Hill! She is so down to earth and really knows what she is doing.

MichelleS August 12, 2015 at 4:42 PM

It’s at the point that we are getting INJURED because of all our reading and chatting on the internet? Crazy!!! Your back and my shoulder…. my son blames reading. He said I hold my Kindle with my left arm, that’s why my left shoulder is injured. LOL. Hope your back is feeling better soon.

Jean August 12, 2015 at 4:47 PM

Feel Better Maryse!

Anne, I can’t believe you finished the entire Lux Series already! You are making me want to go back to it. I stopped after Shadows….doh!

Cheryl August 12, 2015 at 4:50 PM

Maryse, sorry about your back. Your back can hurt from prolonged sitting & typing on a laptop. * hands glass of wine* now go soak in hot bath with epsom salt :)

Maryse August 12, 2015 at 5:02 PM

LOL MichelleS!!!

I said the same thing… that just sitting in my favorite chair and reading and blogging injured me!!! Now I hobble.

And I officially CAN’T sit as of yesterday afternoon and all day today. I can hobble… I can lay down… gingerly. But I cannot sit.

Maryse August 12, 2015 at 5:03 PM

*hugs* your left shoulder…

Cheryl August 12, 2015 at 5:04 PM

Amy thanks- helpful video. I’m not a spring chicken either. ;)

I have Naked2 basics and Ammo. I have mainly just used Stark and Cover or Primal. I also sometimes use Bare Mineral’s Mixologist together with Cognac, instead of Stark, if I want some shimmer. I also have brown eyes.

Anne August 12, 2015 at 5:20 PM

Jean you need to go back and read it! I kinda miss Daemon and Kat and I just finished like a couple of hours ago. I am a fast reader though and I am on vacation so I basically read all day lol

bev August 12, 2015 at 7:14 PM

Maryse, back pain sucks. If really bad, such as disc problems then Dr. Appt, for sure. If not I agree with Marit. I decided to nurse my back and just stay in bed and so much worse the next day than when I hobbled around.
Feel better soon.

Amy August 12, 2015 at 7:34 PM

Maryse…if you feel like you are whining (even though you have good reason to) then you are doing that in the right place! How often do we vent here about being sick or after hurting ourselves or even just being in a mood? ;)

Cheryl, I looked at my Naked2 palette and I don’t have any of the colors from the Basics palette! *sigh* Now I want that one too. Just from looking at it though, I would say use skimp, frisk and primal together, and stark, frisk and cover together. And remember…blend, blend, and then blend again! I would also bring a combination of either frisk and cover or frisk and primal down along the lower lash line. Undone can be used along the top lash line, especially if you aren’t using liner.

Amy August 12, 2015 at 7:40 PM

Anne, from the original palette I use together: virgin, toasted and hustle; virgin, sin, toasted and gunmetal; naked, smog and darkhorse; naked, buck and half baked or sidecar; naked, sidecar and darkhorse; and creep along my upper lash line if going for a smokey look with the more pinkish colors. Hope that helps!

And don’t get me started on my MAC shadows and palettes…

Okay…now I can FINALLY sit and read UY for the next few hours. Yay me!!

Cheryl August 12, 2015 at 8:19 PM

Thanks Amy, I’m going to play around with those colors. :)

Now back to reading Running Away From You…

Grey August 12, 2015 at 8:48 PM

Finished Undeniable… it was ok. *shrug* Deuce bugged me… I think I’m broken. Maybe I need ooey gooey sweet… or a bottle of wine, haven’t decided.

Maryse, so sorry to hear of your back woes… been there, done that. Don’t care for a repeat. Heat and Advil… that’s my best remedy.

Happy Hump Day all…

Michelle August 12, 2015 at 8:56 PM

Yey glad you are liking Warprize MichelleS. There’s a lot of sadness in book 2 though :(

Ela, you MUST read the Kate Daniels series. Seriously can’t say how much I love them! The recent book was so great too!

Feel better Maryse! Back pain is the worst!

Amy, are you a MACaholic too? Did you say you like the container store? This is perfection for holding and storing the MAC palettes.
I stand it the other way (upright) and it holds 14 palettes that easily slide out. *whispers* I have 21 MAC palettes…*cringes* I have slowed down in the last couple years except for unique colors since I have just about every shade under the rainbow! Lately, I’m stuck in a satin taupe over the lid, shroom to highlight and blend out and smut or carbonized in the crease. I do use my UD Naked palettes too but I like MAC shadows slightly more and they wear better for me.

Michelle August 12, 2015 at 9:25 PM

Tessa August 12, 2015 at 10:04 PM

Wow, thanks Michelle. :) Karina Halle free is a good deal.

Maryse, ouch. Back pain is never fun. Hope it gets better soon.

Ela, I tell everyone to read the Ilona Andrews series. It’s seriously great, and the heroine is kick butt type.

Eyeshadow talk… *runs other way* I have seriously deep set eyes. I’m always trying to make it look like less shadows are there, not more.

Tessa August 12, 2015 at 10:42 PM

Dragonbane. It was good, but not Kenyon good. It felt again like it was an in between, setting up for something book. Not like Son of No One which, let’s be honest, was probably her worst, but definitely not her best either. Ah, well.

Amy August 12, 2015 at 10:49 PM

Holy crap Michelle…do you mean 21 of the Pro palettes that hold like 15 shadows?!? 8-O Daaaaaang, I’m impressed!! Lady, you’re putting my polish addiction to shame. ;) And that color combo sounds beautiful…satin taupe is gorgeous!

I have mostly quad palettes, but my favorites are the Cinderella palette, the A Novel Romance quad and the Burgundy Times Nine palette. I also have a Pro palette with some of the shades I use consistently no matter what brand/palette I am using, such as shroom, naked lunch, omega, malt, copperplate and wedge as well as a handful of others that I can’t remember the names of right now. And where is MARYSE!!! She loves MAC and should be in on this conversation!

Amy August 12, 2015 at 10:55 PM

Tessa, there are makeup tutorials on Youtube specifically for deep-set eyes! :D

Good lord, ladies…I just had a major-hide-my-face-in-the-pillow-and-scream-OH-NO moment from UY. *giggle*

Oh! And the names Lautner gives for a guy’s *ahem* member…womb broom, clam hammer, yogurt slinger?!? *snorrrrrrrrrt!!!!*

Anne August 12, 2015 at 11:10 PM

Amy thank you so much! All those combos sound great!

I love MAC! Their MSF Natural rocks my world! I have 2 15 palettes and 3 quads. But my true addiction is their Mineralized Skinfinishes, blushes and lipsticks.

I am 24% in Paper Swan and yes I knew it!!! Now I am intrigued to know what happened for him to end like that. So good!

Tessa August 12, 2015 at 11:21 PM

Oh, I know. I looked at them. Some really work too. When someone says “smokey eyes”, though, I remember experimenting and looking like a deranged raccoon. Yes, that bad. :P

Womb broom? 0.0 That sounds painful.

bev August 12, 2015 at 11:57 PM
Tessa August 13, 2015 at 12:42 AM

Ironically, still look better than when I do it. lol

Linda August 13, 2015 at 1:28 AM

Undeniably You by Jewel E. Ann. Oh. My.Gosh!!! I could not put this book down!!! Every. Feel. Every. Emotion!!! Still wiping my snotty nose.xx

Amy August 13, 2015 at 3:14 AM

It’s 1:00 in the morning, I’m at 52%, and I’m feeling the feels. Oh man. *sigh* If this is only the halfway mark, what the heck is going to be happening in the next half? Glad I’ve gone in blind…

Although, if this level of emotion continues throughout the remainder of the book, I’m going to be drained by the end of it. :?

Michelle August 13, 2015 at 5:41 AM

Umm yeah they are pro palettes *sighs* but they are not all full…ok most are…I have some not depotted too – I’m never counting and living in denial, thank you very much!

I have a crap ton of nail polish and MAC pigments, MSFs, you name it. I used to do makeup as a part-time job in school. I’ve seriously cut back but still spend a good chunk of change on beauty products. I’m just uber girly I guess :D Anne, I even have a Pleasureflush MSF *whispers my precious* My fave MSF is Lightscapade though.

Ela August 13, 2015 at 6:53 AM

I’ll pick up the first Ilona Andrews after I finish with Flame:)

Oh all the pretty shadow talk! I want *grabby hands* for my collections, which I may use someday?! I’m a collector of Chanel palettes. But love MAC and UD.

What’s MSF?

Linda August 13, 2015 at 8:16 AM

Amy I went in blind too. On vacation at the beach this week. Started this book around 11:00 am. I mean I literally couldn’t put my tablet down!!! Didn’t even go out for dinner!! Explained to hubby it was a sandwich kind of evening and I finished about 2:30 this morning!! Now I did have to shut it down a couple times to pace a bit and get more tissues!! Lol. Have a couple days left of vaca and want to take advantage of down time and have no idea what to read that would take my head out of this wonderful beautiful story!! Great now I’m crying again!!! I have got to get a grip!! Guys 5 star++++++++++ for me. Xoxo

Linda August 13, 2015 at 8:45 AM

P.S. there’s a new bbf in town and he’s in this book!!! I’m trying not to give anything away!!! *sigh* OK off to walk the beach!! What do I read next??!!

Diane M August 13, 2015 at 8:46 AM

My rec for back pain: rest in pain relieving positions (usually face up with your legs up on pillows or on your side with a pillow between your legs) pain free movements (as much as possible – NO bed rest but avoid pain) and Advil/alleve etc (any anti inflammatory ) and ice or heat depending on which feels better

Cheryl August 13, 2015 at 8:51 AM

Bev, that was hilarious and how I am with smokey eyes-so inept. Have to play around with Amy’s rec’s and think I’ll be making a trip to MAC store!

Amy & Linda with those comments UY is definitely next for me!!

I remember someone around here reading Kaleidoscope Hearts-was it any good?

Ela August 13, 2015 at 9:00 AM

I don’t know if it was me but I didn’t love Kaleidoscope Hearts as everyone else did, it was a 3.5 star read for me, which isn’t bad.

Maryse August 13, 2015 at 9:06 AM

Thank you Diane!

Advil was a godsend! The first day I was in pain (the worst day) I took Tylenol and it was making things somewhat better, but I was still not mobile. Yesterday I switched to Advil AND OMG!!!! I still felt the pained area, but I could walk normally, I could move, I could do stuff!! I still stayed on bed-rest for the majority of the day (and read and read and read), but I could eat and get up to pee in peace. LOL!!!

Today… I’m finally “almost normal”. Still hurts but SO much better and I haven’t even taken Advil yet. :D YAY ME!!!

Maryse August 13, 2015 at 9:07 AM

I KNOW RIGHT??? It totally had a predictable feel (even though it was good) and then OMG… kind of unpredictable!!! And it keeps up like this, back and forth. I was liking it for the first half, but once we hit that spot I was loving it. Review today. :D

Diane M August 13, 2015 at 9:39 AM

Awesome Maryse! Advil is a godsend for inflamed backs (and stiff necks – all usually inflamed facet joints). If the pain worsens, get back on the Advil ASAP and take it regularly for another day or 2. Other than that, keep moving and avoiding painful positions /activities.

Nikki August 13, 2015 at 10:25 AM

Undeniably You was a 5 star read for me. I assumed by the cover it would be a sweet, lighthearted, funny read. It was all that, however when I got to about 57% I was bawling like a baby and worn out by the end of the book. It was FANTASTIC though!!!

Anne August 13, 2015 at 10:45 AM

Michelle you have Pleasureflush?? I hate you! Lol

Ela MSF is Mineralize Skinfinish by MAC.

So happy you are feeling better Maryse! Advil is the best!

I finished Paper Swan and really liked it! It was a little predictable but I still enjoyed it. Overall it was a great story. 4.25/5

I think I am going to read Hawthorne & Heathcliff :)

Jean August 13, 2015 at 10:56 AM

All this freaking about UY is making me squirrelly, but I’m loving Ky and Lilah in Heart Recaptured!

First line Thursday: “What. The. Fuck???” (Heart Recaptured, by Tillie Cole, Hades Hangmen #2)

Amy August 13, 2015 at 11:12 AM

I’m consoling myself right now by saying Sydney deserves every bit of what she’s going through. That should make this easier, right??But…but…why do I have to FEEL all of this along with her?!? Oh that’s right, because I love this. ;)

Run run Jean! Be a squirrel!! Be freeeeeeeee!! UY is waiting for you!!!!! :P

“Sh!t! It’s everywhere and I’ve only been here for three hours.” ~ Undeniably You by Jewel Ann

Amy August 13, 2015 at 11:13 AM

By the way Jean, you always have the best first lines. *giggle*

Ela August 13, 2015 at 11:27 AM

Gotcha Anne!

All this makeup talk made me visit Nordstrom online! You ladies are bad for my wallet *shaking my damn head*, on top of books more makeup.

Anne August 13, 2015 at 11:30 AM

I really need to read UY soon!

First line Thursday: “In my life, there were three words more powerful than I love you.”- Hawthorne & Heathcliff by R.K. Ryals

Ela August 13, 2015 at 11:43 AM

Had to join the first line Thursday with this one:

“Did you kill anyone else out there?” Souls Unfractured by Tillie Cole

Jean August 13, 2015 at 11:46 AM

Haha Ela, love it! That’s next for me! Dying for Maddie and Flame’s story!

Anne, what are the three words that were more powerful?!?!? Just curious…..

Amy August 13, 2015 at 12:05 PM

Hey ladies, did anyone ever figure out the book Ann was looking for up there? I can’t seem to find it, and it’s bugging me…

Ela August 13, 2015 at 12:15 PM

No clue Amy! I wish we had more info to go on.

Tessa August 13, 2015 at 12:40 PM

The Iron King stood before me, magnificent in his beauty, silver hair whipping about like an unruly waterfall.
-The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa

Yep, going through my library stuff. I’m hoping to get this series finished sometime before the end of the month. :) It’s good, but that line means nothing without reading the first book other than he’s pretty.

Maryse August 13, 2015 at 1:15 PM

Okay I’m posting Ann’s question right now…

Let’s see what we can find…

Shirley August 13, 2015 at 1:44 PM

Im so happy everyone is loving UY!!!! Her Holding You series is awesome also. Highly recommend that one.

Maryse August 13, 2015 at 1:54 PM

Okay here is the Ann “reader question” post and I think we already have the answer!! YAY!!

Jean August 13, 2015 at 1:56 PM

Wow Amy, I was just reading all the comments on GR from your GM review. What the heck?!?!

Amy August 13, 2015 at 2:00 PM

Gah! What I was telling myself earlier? About Sydney deserving what she’s going through? Yeah, it’s not working. It’s not making it easier.

*snuffles on manatee*

Aw man, who had him last and left crusty snuffles on him??

You found an answer to Ann’s question? *sniffles and wipes eyes* Yay. *gives a weak thumbs up* Sorry, that’s about all I can muster right now. :?

Amy August 13, 2015 at 2:04 PM

Jean, right? *snort* I guess some people didn’t like my opinion. ;)

Ela August 13, 2015 at 2:11 PM

Amy, you’re on UY? Right????? I’m about to start that next.

Yes, your opinion was very um opinionated *snort*

Jean August 13, 2015 at 2:17 PM

Yeah Amy , I wanted to slap some of them for you! Isn’t that the point of hiding your spoilers and still having the right to express your opinion…ugh!

I hope you wash, soften, and freshen up Manny before handing him over to those of us who are going to obviously need it with UY. I gotta finish Hades Hangmen series first though…….it’s so good!

Ela August 13, 2015 at 2:21 PM

Jean! Get ready for Flame’s story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was powerful, emotional, and VERY intense! I even shed a few tears! But overall WONDERFUL!

Jean August 13, 2015 at 2:29 PM

I can’t wait Ela! I’m half way thru Heart Recaptured……and really loving it…..but I’m so intrigued by Flame and his story!

Amy August 13, 2015 at 2:43 PM

Yep Ela, UY. Feels. Lots and lots of FEELS.

LOL Jean! That’s what I love about this place…everyone can be honest and gush or vent or whatever they need to do without fear of being ganged up on. ;)

Anne August 13, 2015 at 2:55 PM

Amy I really want to read your GM review but can’t find it on GR :/ And yes I love it here for the same reason! Love you guys!

Jean “for my sake” ;)

Loving H&H so far! Its so honest and fresh.

Grey August 13, 2015 at 3:03 PM

Must resist the one-click…

Anne August 13, 2015 at 3:08 PM

Amy found and read your review and I really appreciate you writing it. I know I won’t be reading this book ever. And yes people need to learn to respect others opinions.

Grey what are you reading?

Diane M August 13, 2015 at 4:06 PM

I totally agree! Ignore them Amy! I read it too, you spoke your mind and hid your spoilers. I was still a little curious before and now I’m not so thank you.

Grey August 13, 2015 at 4:50 PM

Hi Anne *waves* I’m not reading anything at the moment. I’d really like to read the Indebted series by Pepper Winters, but there’s still one more book to come, so I’m holding off… I’d actually like to read The Goodbye Man, but I’m too cheap haha! Anyone have it and want to share?? LOL!

Jackie August 13, 2015 at 4:55 PM

Was so ready for an actor/regular girl romance so I clicked A Matter of Trust. Ummm…can I up click it- the dialogue is just so bad. 2 chapters and I’m done.

MichelleS August 13, 2015 at 5:21 PM

First line: “Bloodmoss. That’s Bloodmoss, Marcus!” -Warsworn.

Wacky first line. I wanna read Tessa’s book… That first line grabbed me!

Anne August 13, 2015 at 5:55 PM

Grey I want to rwad that series too but I’ll wair till its finished :)

Finished Hawthorne & Heathcliff and loved it! It has a SGT feel to it so you know its special. The writting was beautiful and oh the feels! It’s one of my favorite books of 2015. Highly recommend it!

Tessa August 13, 2015 at 6:05 PM

*grins* MichelleS, you gotta read the first book. It’s up to six books so far. The first is Iron King and only 2.99.

All you sillies scared of starting the Indebted series before it’s complete. I’d be scared to feel all that torture with no break. My review of the last book involved the F word… a lot! I’m petrified of the last one. Though, that second debt was probably the worst to me. *shudders*

Ela August 13, 2015 at 7:23 PM

Soooooooo I started UY and so far it’s cute and sweet! I’m afraid for the rest!

Grey? The Goodbye Man???? *shudders* ARE YOU SERIOUSLY? *hides in a hole*

Amy August 13, 2015 at 7:58 PM

It’s official…I’m. Emotionally. Sapped. Undeniably You sapped me. But it was fun. ;)

Jackie, been there done that. In fact, that was me with Goodbye Man last week.

Speaking of GM…you’re nuts Grey. :P

Amy August 13, 2015 at 8:02 PM

Tessa, I remember that series! I read it after Iron Knight came out, and I am so glad because apparently she was going to stop after Iron Queen but then decided to write IK…I would have freaked if things had been left the way they were in IQ!!

bev August 13, 2015 at 8:35 PM

Amy, just read the comments and your responses on GR. Your responses are so great. Respectful, concise and on point.
Ranting at a book or characters, disagreement on the books all great & sometimes fun. But to try and make a reviewer feel bad for not liking a book or for giving warning of potential spoilers, seriously not ok.
Though I’ll admit I may give some stink eye to mediocre reviews of a book I love, lol.

Tessa August 13, 2015 at 8:41 PM

She wrote two more after that. I just finished Iron Daughter, so I’m onto Iron Queen. Oooh, which means new first line. However, deja vu much?

Eleven years ago, on my sixth birthday, my father disappeared.
-The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa

fabi August 13, 2015 at 9:08 PM

Tessa, I’m jealous of the books you read and how quickly you get through them. *grin*

Tessa August 13, 2015 at 9:22 PM

*grins* Aww *hugs* Thank you, Fabi. Guess I do get to read more of my TBR list. Which, um, keeps growing even faster…

Cheryl August 13, 2015 at 9:29 PM

“The world stops spinning on its axis.”
Running Away With You (The Running Series Book 3) by Suzanne Sweeney. Finished this today, so now I’m starting Undeniably You.

Did anyone read the expensive, Who Do You Love- I’m intrigued by the blurb, but $12.99!!!

Amy August 13, 2015 at 10:06 PM

Aw Bev…thank you. *blushes*

Sooooo, you would give stink eye if someone had less than stellar things to say about the courtyard? :P

Amy August 13, 2015 at 10:10 PM

Yeah Tessa, when Iron Queen ended I was all “WHAT?!? NO!!” IK made up for it. ;)

Cheryl, I one-clicked it the other day without looking at the price. :? Yay me.

Oh! I forgot to mention this but Station Eleven is on sale for 3.99 right now for anyone who hasn’t picked it up yet! :D

Cheryl August 13, 2015 at 10:46 PM

Amy, I remember you commenting about purchasing, but thought maybe your returned it. You can be the guinea pig for that one!! ;)

bev August 13, 2015 at 10:47 PM

Probably, lol.
Oh, you know you get protective of the ones you love. ;-) BUT, really I’d rather someone really say what they thought, especially around here. If I rec a book and you didn’t like it, if you tell me why I wouldn’t rec those types to you. Just like knowing what you like. I’ve noticed I’ve started thinking that way some times, that sounds like a Fabi book, or MichelleS likes Fae, lol.

fabi August 14, 2015 at 7:36 AM

That’s so true Bev. I do the same thing. I’ll read a blurb and think one one of you guys. :-)

Ela August 14, 2015 at 9:12 AM

Sadly I don’t know you ladies that well, hopefully yet! I do know that Amy loves them DARK and has a hard limit with incest :)

Grey August 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM

Amy & Ela, yes, I am a little crazy. I want to see what all the hubbub is about with the book haha! Of course, I refuse to pay that much money for it, so it’s likely I’ll never read it LOL!

Leaving after work today to camp for the next few days… must have my books lined up on my phone.

MichelleS August 14, 2015 at 10:28 AM

Sniffle Sniffle. Just finished second book in The Chronicles of the Warlands series. Stupid plague. At least Simus is living it up at the castle that randy guy! I love all the supporting characters in this series. Moving on to the next one. Why are these still 8 bucks? This series is 8 years old!!! ARGH! Book budget blown with this series.

bev August 14, 2015 at 10:35 AM

Ela, as you’ve noticed we are extremely vocal about are likes and dislikes.:-P
We will start to recognize yours too.

You ladies are funny about the Kleypas. I do want to read it, but 90% sure my library will carry it soon. If it was her historical, one click even at that price. Her cr, I usually like just not love. But for some it’s the reverse. I admire that she can write the two separate sub genres and be different enough to have different fan sets, you know?

bev August 14, 2015 at 10:40 AM

You all are killing me with the Warprize books. *sigh*
Maybe I’ll treat myself to the whole series after my first month of new job. If Michelle, MichelleS, Amy are all into it like this. Been looking at the first for years off and on and never seen it on sale, library, or used so bite the bullet.

bev August 14, 2015 at 10:52 AM

Last comment promise. Just been reading all the comments from last few days. Not a make up person, but if I could budget it in Id have a counter full of body oils and lotions, seriously I’d go crazy if possible. I like picking a scent based on how I feel that day, lol. I now love natural products with EO s. Actually today is hopefully going to include a stop to buy a new Acure lotion.
But right now I’m eking out this oil, second I’ve tried from them and want to try all, lol.

Ela August 14, 2015 at 10:56 AM

Thanks bev!!!!

I actually got Warprize and the first Kate Daniels for the sheer curiosity.

So I’m about 35% into UY, when shall I expect the shocker/twist/tears?

Anne August 14, 2015 at 12:39 PM

I really need to read Warprize soon! Maybe that’ll be my next read?

Amy August 14, 2015 at 2:45 PM

Oh yes, ladies…Warprize!!! For me, it’s the closest thing to Golden Dynasty that I have read.

Ela, I second what Bev said about recognizing your tastes…the more people come here and interact, the more we learn about each other’s tastes! :D Oh, and THAT kind of incest I was ranting about I do have an issue with…Forbidden not so much. ;) It is one of my favorite books and I actually wanted everything to be okay for those two even though I knew I shouldn’t. *oomph* That was my heart crashing into my gut from just thinking about that story.

Ela August 14, 2015 at 3:02 PM

Totally agreed Amy! That type of incest is a no no. In Forbidden I can see it, and it’s totally different!

bev August 14, 2015 at 3:12 PM

Do you two have siblings?
Cause eww. Lol. Full. Body. Shudder.

Amy August 14, 2015 at 3:32 PM

In BOOKS…always and only in books. Remember that mantra? Well it applies here, lady! :P Excuse me while I go and poke out the eye in my mind…

bev August 14, 2015 at 3:56 PM

Well, you two are all “that type is understandable”
And I’m all over here “excuse me while i throw up in my mouth”
In books, mmhmm, gotcha.

MichelleS August 14, 2015 at 5:16 PM

I think Flowers in the Attic at 12 years old desensitized me to the whole incest thing. Doesn’t creep me out as much as it should. It’s the ultimate in “forbidden” for me, though. If explained right, like in Forbidden, then I’m okay with it.

Warprize – I am really liking the series. Have no clue why still so pricey, and also not able to be loaned out. I guess if it’s a good story, you don’t have to lower the price? But it doesn’t even have THAT many reviews on Amazon. It has way more on Goodreads. Maybe it’s just that secret little find? If you read it, you will fall in love with the side characters. All those warriors. And Marcus? And even that giggly-chinned cook, Anna. My kind of book.
