Latest Paranormal & Contemporary Romance Book Releases – July 14th 2015

July 14, 2015 By Maryse 206 Comments

<— PRIME DAY SALES JULY 15th 2015 BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!!! IT HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED for TODAY ONLY!!!! Amazon is celebrating it’s 20th anniversary on July 15th (TODAY!!) and so they are having a HUMONGOUS (and I mean humongous – they are claiming better than Black Friday) sale for all Prime members!!! The sales are changing throughout the day (It looks like we can see a whole bunch of stuff right now, but they will be going active and inactive in “batches” throughout the day, and more will be added as the day goes on), so I will make a post (or maybe I’ll do it here) where I’ll point out anything I see that is book related…

  • Fifty Shades of Grey – (Unrated Blu-ray Edition + R- rated DVD + R- rated DIGITAL HD Great DEAL ON THIS RIGHT NOW!!!!!
Anyone getting in on any of these deals? I actually have!!

I purchased an omnidirectional clip-on microphone that plugs into my iPhone or iPad (great for on-the-spot author interviews at signings!!) and a Black and Decker dust-buster!! And now I got a pressure washer! 🙂 Good day for me too. All stuff I needed and significantly discounted.

As for the book releases!!

Quite a few BIG highlights for today… a few fighter books that have my attention big time (like that one there to the left by Shay Savage) who is one of my absolute FAVORITES. Her male POV’s are truly the best of the best, and those guys don’t even TRY to make us swoon, their so darn angry and full of themselves, and yet I do. 😀

TWO ADD-ON NEW RELEASES as of TODAY – Wednesday July 15th 2015!!

  • Dark Night of the Soul by Kitty Thomas <— DARK READ LOVERS… this is the queen of dark. And she just released a brand spanking new one that sounds so intriguing. “Caught out at night getting medicine for her sister, Helene is captured and taken as a slave for Gabriel, the mysterious ruler of the city. “Helene, I will take your struggle away. I will bring you back to life.”” Oooooooh.
  • The Pentagram Child: Part 2 (Afterlife Saga Book 5) by Stephanie Hudson <— and so many alerted me on this one (they are very excited!) Lisa says: “Don’t forget to add Stephanie Hudson’s, the Pentagram Child Part 2 (The AfterLife Saga). Love this series!!!! It just came out today!!! Can’t get enough of that Draven!!!” and Marit too! “Maryse! The Pentagram Child: Part Two (Afterlife Saga) is finally out!!!:) I have been waiting for this for soooo long now. *happy happy happy dance* Any one else who are excited?;) Yaaaaay!“

Another HUGE highlight of the day is obviously Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman (which is the #1 book on all of Amazon right now). No surprise there, but I’m dying to know if anyone here has read it. What do you think? I know there’s been tons of hot-debate over whether this one should have ever been released or now, but it’s obvious people are devouring it as we speak.

Plus, this crazy intriguing sounding one The Trouble with Paper Planes… Fabi, Jean and I are all over that! Can’t tell if it’s paranormal, or if it’s just a super-psych-thriller/mystery, or what, but that blurb has us going… whaaaaaaaa?? Actually, there are two more paranormals that have me intrigued too. I highlighted ’em below in their section.

<—OH!!! And don’t forget to check out yesterday’s 7 Earlybird Book Releases ’cause there are two on there that definitely hit my TBR list!! Sacrifice (her dead husband’s brother) and Quirks & Kinks (she’s gonna host a fetish show!)

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

AUDIOBOOK RELEASES PLUS check out the free audible trial + 2 free ebooks deal!!!

  • AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!
  1. Go Set a Watchman: A Novel by Lee Harper
  2. Caged: Mastered, Book 4 by Lorelei James
  3. Mr. Impossible by Loretta Chase

I am not typically a series reader but she has me hooked, of course it could be the dark nature of the books!! Love me some dark romance!!! Keep them coming!!“
  3. Love the Way You Lie: A Dark Romance Novel (Stripped Book 1) by Skye Warren <— SCARRED HERO & STRIPPER ALERT! On super-sale!! She’s on of my fav SUPER-dark-read authors, but she also dabbles in darkish-romance… Like this one. Tell me this doesn’t sound so good! “I’ll do anything to get safe, even if that means working at the scariest club in town. I’ll do anything to stay hidden, even if it means taking off my clothes for strangers. I’ll do anything to be free. Except give him up. When he looks at me, I forget why I can’t have him. He’s beautiful and scarred…”
  4. Tangled Souls by Jana Oliver <— PARANORMAL LOVERS! This looks good and it’s super-bargain priced!!

Okay… he meets the girls of his dreams, but she belongs to his brother. BUT!! HER sister, wants his brother so they plan to partner together to break them up but… “Before long, Chloe finally gets her man, only to make a startling discovery: She no longer wants the guy she had to fight for—she wants the one who stood by her side…” Ruh roh.

One look at the dying human at his doorstep and Holden Carter knows he will have to break it. The broken woman with no hope at survival is his mate. Oh, I have to get Stolen and Forgiven. It sounds like one of those traditional shifter romances. Gives me a case of nostalgia.

Oh it IS Ela…

It took me 5 days and hours upon hours in a row of reading. A great story, excellent writing, got to know ’em all so well, but OMG the length. That is my only complaint, I think. Mind you, this was released as a series, so reading “each book” separately might have given me more excitement in that regards.

The Invictus Games! I love that Prince Harry does that. It’s next year in Orlando, right? Those wounded servicemen are amazing…hubby went through a training course and one of the men there had lost a hand in combat, but he said this guy had learned to type quicker with one hand than most of them could with two!

I just saw some very upsetting news, at least for me. Beth Flynn is releasing Out of Time next week, the sequel to Nine minutes, which HAS A CLIFFY CAUSE THERE’S GOING TO BE A BOOK 3 DUE OUT IN 2016!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What was suppose to be a 2 books became a trilogy basically overnight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why do authors torture us? Why? Why? Why? By the time these sequels get released I’ve forgotten what I read and have to waste my time re-reading instead of reading something new from my 2,000+ TBR

Yes Bev and I have just 1-clicked way too much…so many on this list! (plus the early ones from yesterday) I can’t wait for Out Of Time on 23 July and will brave the cliff hanger – I think that is supposed to be a long book too which may be why it is now a trilogy?

Amy – Me Before You is wonderful and heartbreaking – one book that really gives you the feels – the sequel is out later this year, which I have high hopes for. And when is the last Fallen Crest due?? Read a few exerts on FB and can not wait!! (happy to help with the peanut throwing on FCH – I just love all of Tijan’s books)

Anyone wanting to read FCH, DO NOT READ MASON FIRST! FCH, the free one, is first. Mason is more of a 3.5 book.

*squees* Laura’s reading it! I can so see liking Nate. He’s an underdog in the love section, just like Adam is.

Maryse, the football is minor compared to the rest of the story. It’s for real good. Besides, if you and Amy are book twins, look at how much she loves it too! *grins*

Bev, once Maryse reads FCH, I’m totally rooting with you for WIR.

On a very non-complaint note, I did recommend Tristan and Dannika and she read that. So that’s was a big Yeah! She also tried Fear me, but it wasn’t her type. *shrugs* Which is also good, cause she tried it. So, after FCH, I’m helping the WIR side.

Bev, Tairen Soul and Black Jewels are faintly reminiscent of each other but I LOVE them both for their individual epic stories so difficult to compare. I think if others are looking for a fantasy escape after Tairen Soul, you would love Black Jewels.

Another wonderful fantasy read that I just finished is Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder! It’s the best one I’ve read since Tairen Soul which I finished early in January. Really recommend this one for fantasy lovers and others getting into the genre. The world is not as complicated as some and you can fall into the story easily.

Now, I just started Warprize by Elizabeth Vaughan which was in an earlier post comparing it to Golden Dynasty and so far I love it as well! On a reading roll!

My problem with Fearless was that it was just too long. I loved it. Loved the writing style. Loved the story. The characters. The dialogue. But needed editing!!!! Now…. the next one Price of Angels is a manageable 423 pages. Michael is the Sergeant at Arms in the MC. The one who never smiles. Everyone avoids him. He’s creepy and quiet and loved to read. Remember that scene when Mercy goes into the bar and the waitress doesn’t flirt with him because she is obviously scared? But she goes over to Michael’s table? Kind of setting up the next story….?

Bev – I could have eaten the batter all by myself, it was that good – and the frosting (OMG, heaven). What are you reading, Bev? I feel like we are all reading something different. Wish there was that ONE BOOK, you know? That we could all go nuts about.

You said GRITTY!!!! FCH is not gritty….. and if you’re not in the mood for that, you’ll miss out on all it’s goodness…. I am going to get pelted with all your FCH peanuts, but, I too, just read Fearless (and it took me 4 or 5 days, I lost track) so I know how you are feeling. I’d go with King. **ducks all incoming peanuts that are now coming it at top speed**

When I think of gritty, I think Madeline Sheehan or Shay Savage. MC Clubs or Evan Arden. The language and the situations… I liked FCH a lot (even though I stopped somewhere along the way and now can’t remember where I was – the adding of extra books and out of sequence stuff messed me up). I would never call FCH “gritty” though.

Is FCH complete now? Was there an ending?

Look at you pushing King haha. I threw a fit like Amy but after calming down, I will read the next one. I mean I need to find out what all of THAT was at the ending.

Back to Warprize which is not as good as Golden Dynasty (can’t recreate that magic) BUT it is very good and a fabulous rec for those who want that kind of read again minus the alternate universe stuff.

Slade, I’m the same way! Male strippers are so blah for me. Then again, seeing the pics of Channing Tatum doing Magic Mike (which I’ve not seen, I admit it), my only thought was, he doesn’t look very smart. *sighs* I can’t get past that. It reminded me of Arsen, maybe not in the level of angst, but a h who is married, thought she knew what she wanted in order to be happy, but she ends up questioning her life, her husband, her choices. I knew all along who I thought she should end up with, but I still felt maybe she should choose the other MC. *my heart hurt for him* That said, I think it ended how it should. That epilogue *sigh* …heart palpitations wondering who she would choose…and that ending *tear running down my face*

Ok finished Warprize and the second book, Warsworn, already and definitely enjoyed them. The story is very emotional and has an abundance of great characters. I’m taking a break before the last one and going to start Bloodfire by Helen Harper. I was going to read Stolen and Forgiven which I bought I think on a bad whim. It’s actually two short stories in one which I do not do well with shorter stories and forming a connection enough to care. Meh oh well…maybe I will read it eventually.

Also read King of Hearts by L.H. Cosway and seriously one of the best books I’ve read this year! I was intrigued by Oliver King and his story since Hearts of Fire and was anxiously awaiting his book. So happy it didn’t disappoint! Seriously L.H. Cosway writes such unique, amazing and heart breaking stories she has become a favorite author of mine.

I had some furniture delivered yesterday so I had to spend Wednesday moving out some pieces to make room, and once we started moving out those pieces I saw where I wanted to deep clean (as in cleaning baseboards with a toothbrush kind of cleaning) which led to deep cleaning the rest of each room and bleaching out the kitchen and bathrooms and scrubbing down walls and brushing out window sills and waxing the wood floors and …yeah, I got a little carried away. 😉 I may have felt grimy after all that (gross!) but my house is clean!
