Latest Paranormal & Contemporary Romance Book Releases – July 28th 2015

I one clicked Reborn. It sounds intriguing and its really inexpensive. But it doesn’t sound PNR at all. I had Him and Crossover pre-ordered. I’m still debating Bourbon King because, ouch, the price. But wasn’t there another PNR from from a popular author released today? I have to go back and look through Friday’s or last Tuesday’s list.

The Bourbon Kings & Wicked Fall are the two top pics for me today! The two by Mary Kubica look amazing too… oh ooomph, my feels alert is going off with Racing the Sun, although I haven’t read the first in this series yet either.

I want to read the Bourbon Kings ’cause holy moly it sounds like all kinds of tummy twisting! But does anyone know if it is part of a series? I’m feeling kinda ambivalent lately when it comes to series…

I want, want, WANT Before We Were Strangers! Next week, right? Oooooh, that author worked me over with Sweet Thing and all of it’s emotions! 😀

Slow work day so I’m going to make a Sephora run (yay!), make taco Tuesday supper with apple margaritas (yum!) and then settle down and read… *slumps shoulders* I have no idea. 😕

I saw that about JA’s Dark Element series, Tessa! *happy dance* And I hear the love triangle is pretty brutal in that there isn’t one guy who is better than the other. 😉

Great list! I’ve added 7 to my overwhelming tbr list. 🙂 But I think I’m most excited for Pretty Baby, I loved The Good Girl and I had no idea she was even writing a sequel! Also curious about All We Have Is Now by Lisa Schroeder, no reviews yet but sounds intriguing. Its so hard to find time to read, there just aren’t enough hours or enough energy in the day, especially with two littles running around, BUT I did manage one last week and I really enjoyed it – With A Twist by Staci Hart. I’m now a fan of the man bun Haha!! And I’m currently reading Jezebel, I’m at 62% right now and hope to finish in the next cpl days. Knowing that there’s this huge twist at the end is driving me nuts, I have tons of crazy ideas as to what’s going to happen and I can’t wait to see if I’m right. The anticipation has me on pins and needles right now!! Lol

Tasha, *please* come back after you finish Jezebel…I’m loving the reactions from everyone who reads that book! And don’t skip the novella. Just trust us. 😉

Why does The Bourbon Kings have to be $13.99. I got an actual sample in the mail from the author and it was a tease! I think I will wait for some reviews.

Is it me, or do these lists get longer and longer each week?

Absolutely will let you guys know when I finish! Some of my ideas are pretty outlandish lol. Also not really book related but sometimes when I’m not in the mood to read I get into a little kick on Netflix. I almost never get to finish a series, but a month ago maybe I watched a show called Star-Crossed with Aimee Teegarden from Friday Night Lights. I never finished, I stopped a cpl episodes to the end bc I saw it cancelled so I can pretend it ended however I want. Lol, anyway it reminded me a lot of Jennifer Armentrouts lux series! And then a couple weeks ago I gave Bitten a shot. At first I thought corny acting, ok story. But I got past the acting and started really getting into it and found out it was based on the Otherworld series by Kelly Armstrong. It’s renewed for season 3 so I’m gonna continue watching 😀 Anybody read that series?? Any shows you guys recommend for Netflix?

Her not being able even as the author to choose a guy reminds me of an indie YA PNR series I followed for a couple of years when I first rediscovered my love of reading back a few years ago. The books were crazy long and soooooo ridiculously over the top, but I’m sure y’all remember those days of falling for books so easily before becoming more, um, critical I guess. Anyways, she created a love triangle between the h and these two cousins then threw in another guy (some kind of supernatural specter being) and the whole love quadrangle spanned the course of the nine books only to have the author end it with her getting all THREE of them! The heck?? She was told she would be with one, then in the future when that guy died the second guy would come back to life so she could be with him, then when THAT guy died then she would spend eternity with the specter guy…and she would never age! I was SO mad at the author for trying to appease everyone with that ending. I still want my time back that I spent on that series, and I will *never* read the subsequent NA series that follows them in college.

Yeah, guess I’m the one who took the bitchy pills today. 😉 But dang if that didn’t feel good to finally rant about it!

I had to look up In Your Eyes and I thought ooh this sounds good!….wait, I’ve already seen it. Lol, I can’t remember how much I liked it though, but it did keep my attention the entire movie! I did that a cpl days ago with my familiar stranger, looked it up bc it sounded good and says I have it. I don’t remember a single thing about it though…

Amy, there was an NA series as a follow up? What was the name? I swear that ending gave me a huh? moment, but darn if I don’t want to continue reading the series. Seriously, name! I fell in love with that series. 🙂

Warning for those who read the book, Bitten isn’t exactly following the book exactly. I have to see a little of this season, but up to there, no cabal has been mentioned.

Amy I haven’t read the Avoiding series but I did read her Record one and loved it! So adding Avoiding to my never ending TBR list 😀

However, I need to explain, I was reading The Bourbon Kings. yay! It is part of a series, I haven’t finished it yet, but I see that it says book 1 next to it on the front listing of her books. I don’t know if it will be a cliffy… the BDB books she really tended to wrap up each main character’s story before moving to the next character for the next story, make sense?

Berry flavored vodka? geez… do I live under a rock or what, that sounds deliciously summery… and being as though temps are soaring to the 5th level of Hell today… I. Need. Some.

@Tasha J – You might want to give Arrow on Netflix a chance. The first 12 episodes are so-so, but then the Oliver/Felicity (Olicity) stuff starts happening (she’s an awkward it nerd who says whatever pops into her head, he’s hot, rich and just back from being shipwrecked on a deserted island for 5 years). After that, you can enjoy reading Gina Maxwell’s Tempting Her Best Friend as she based the characters on Oliver and Felicity.

As for new releases, Badass in My Bed #3 (Rae Lynn Blaise) just released. Really hate the title, but enjoyed the books.

This is so weird, right before Golden dynasty my friend made me read 1000 White women and they are very similar stories! 1000 was about women sent to procreate with Cheyenne Indian warriors and the way they picked them out, violated them and didn’t speak the same language, very similar feels for such different books

Ok so I just finished Jezebel and I did love it, it was a great story and I was heavily anticipating the ending especially from about 70% on. But I wasn’t really shocked, I was actually pretty spot on. 😀 I will definitely read the novella!

Nothing is doing it for me. I think it’s the meds. They are changing my taste in books. I am being super critical & snarky – I got to 51% with Wild Reckless and 25% with Existence #2. I can’t keep my eyes from rolling. It’s not even the stories or characters – just the execution. Maybe I need something more legit – like a Sweet Gum Tree or something? A real author with a real editor? Need to feel better soon so I can get back to enjoying trashy romances.

Sony transferred all their books to Kobo and I lost a LOT. But, I think it was just a sample. Hoping anyway.

Stayed up to late to finish Him. I liked this. Great characters, they had nice chemistry, humor, and no surprise well written. Always wish a bit more in the falling stage. Also, one of the families is so very well done I wanted to spend 10x more time with them. Really.
Now, what next? I have a few calling my name. Yet, talking of Oconnell makes want to do a re-read of Eyes of Silver Eyes of Gold. Guess time to sleep on it. 🙂

I love Scandal. I called my cable provider, wound up getting a better package for significantly less money… but the downer, is that my DVR box has to be upgraded. So, Scandal, Blacklist… it’s gotta be burned to my HDD before I lose it all.
