BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!!! K. BROMBERG’S LATEST JUST WENT LIVE!!! And now the “duet” is complete!!! ➔ The Catch (The Player Duet) ➔➔➔➔➔
Good morning everybody, and happy NEW RELEASE DAY!!It’s the last big release day of the month, and it is a good one! Coming in at 85+ new books, and I’ll be checking throughout the day in case I’ve missed any, or any late bloomers go live a little later. 😉 Also don’t forget to check out yesterday’s list (it’s up to 17, now) ➔ 15 Earlybird Book Releases
I’ve highlighted a bunch of great-sounding ones, but some sound extra-enticing to me. 😉 Like… Make Me Stay (’cause book #1 in the series was so good, and a fellow reader told me this one was even better!! I believe they are standalones), Until It Fades (that one up there to the left! Heck yes, another awesome author, and the premise sounds perfect for me! She saves a man, and only once the police show up does she realize he’s a famous hockey player), Raw Need (Cherrie Lynn???!!! YES PLEASE!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE her, and this blurb SERIOUSLY gave me a blurb jolt. I think I just found my next read!!! She’s pregnant and her husband dies, and she escapes her pain by listening to her favorite music, and then she meets the lead singer… *gasp!!* BUT!!!! OMG THE BUT!!!!! It’s the last part of the blurb that gave me that jolt…). MINE!!!! Easy Nights (she’s abused by her husband, and her best friend from high school, now an MMA fighter is there for her…. Oooooooh her husband is gonna get it!!), and The Coppersmith Farmhouse (okay that’s from the reader recommendations section, but this one is much-loved by a few of my book buddies, and the latest recommendation told me it was a total KA feel!!!). OMG I so HAVE to read this. In fact there are three books in the series now. :D!!
P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free audiobooks deal —>
- AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <—
This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans all of your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!

Jennifer: Hey there…. was just wondering if you’ve read Devney Perry’s books “The Jamison Valley series”. So far there are 2 books with the 3rd out for preorder for August. I just read them (took me less than 24 hrs to read both). Has the alpha male and mystery/suspense to it. And of course there were parts of the book that I would bust out laughing so hard that my 9 year old daughter would say “Guess you’re liking your new book?” Very Kristen Ashley feel to it!! Can’t wait for the next book! Hope you have a great day!!!

Good Morning!! Can’t wait to get in some reading and coffee today! 🙂
Good morning! Thanks Maryse for all that you do for us! *squeezes Maryse…huggles *
Good morning my friends!!!
It is absolutely my pleasure. :D!
Ela’s in a good mood.
I had two pre-orders come in. I’m very excited, especially by one that has been getting some buzz and just seems fun.
The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by MacKenzie Lee
The Impossible Vastness of US by Samantha Young
Oh bev!! I have that one on the list but forgot to put the blurb highlight!! I need to update it. 😀 Thank you!
I preordered Impossible Vastness as well, bev…yay us!! Hey, I thought of you when I had to work down in Portland the other day. Just a random fact I thought you should know. 😉
“BUT!!!! OMG THE BUT!!!!!” <——- *snort* I don't care if there is only one 't' there, it still cracks me up. 😛
Good to know Amy. Lol.
I live a bit of a distance from there. BUT it is a fun city to visit. Hmm. It always makes me think of the must see places in your home state that you never visit, you know. And now I have this in my head, so thank you.

*giggle* My pleasure. Did you ever see the Loretta Lynn movie (Coal Miner’s Daughter, I think) with Sissy Spacek and Tommy Lee Jones? That video made me think of it.
I’m supposed to be getting ready for work but Riven has my tummy all in knots and I want to keep reading!! Grrrr…real life BLOWS sometimes.
Yeah! Storm Unleashed. I’ve been loving the series. It’s nothing to complex and just a fun PNR. Right now, though, I have to read Oblivion by Jennifer L Armentrout. June is almost over and I still haven’t read it. I’m still at one percent, though Damon’s mind is hilarious. ‘It was all very-not cute, What the hell was I even thinking. Not cute at all.’ Gotta love the jerkface.
Last night, Vengeance is a KU book, so I thought, I’m going in knowing what’s happening. I’ll try. NOPE. Couldn’t get past the first chapter without it being an issue, so I went and found a KU MaryJanice Davidson. (Pure luck finding it!) I ended up laughing hysterically. She’s going to have a one night stand, and has a little angel and a little devil on each shoulder (like the cartoons). And they give little bits of opinion throughout the whole thing. “Go for it! He’s cute with dimples!” “He may be a psycho murderer.” “Not with those dimples!”
And now you two have me thinking of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9eHp7JJgq8
Tessa, I really liked Oblivion. Being in Daemon’s head was SO fun. Sooooo…are we ever going to try out her Wicked series? Maybe when the whole series is out since she kills us with her CH’s? And those covers…simply gorgeous.
I seriously want to re-watch Coal Miner’s Daughter now…
But am I really bev??? 🙄
Thanks for the list Maryse! Although I have to read it with my eyes closed so I won’t be tempted. Apparently, reading is not something I do anymore. 🙁
OMG Amy my husband watches that movie ALL THE TIME.
I love that song Tessa.
Ela, giving out hugs. Unless you were giving grumpy hugs.
lol My sister used to listen to her all the time. 🙂 You know, I’ve never seen the movie.
Amy, I have been reading her Wicked series! Though, yep, CH. The covers to those are gorgeous, but I don’t know what it has to do with the story. They aren’t mermaids. The book involves Fae! 😀 Also, it’s NA, not YA, so it has more depth.
I’m having a bit of a day toor. All my fault for not being prepared. Pfft. Have to be grumpy with myself.
I need breakfast and coffee in mugs the size of my head.
*slides hot, strong coffee with chocolate chip muffin on the side to bev*
Thank you, Jan.
It is the end part of my day now. Mmm. I love muffins.
I’m starting to think we should make a Tessa, Jan,Maryse, and bev book club.
Jan can have us read HR. Tessa PNR and Bullies. Maryse Marmy/Death club. And I YA.
Which means we’d probably all try Jan and Tessa’s books. Then when Maryse chooses we’d pretend to read it by pretending to cry.
lol bev. I just read your new book club suggestions and pretending to cry. *snort* NO. The majority of the time I don’t cry. I GASP in horror, or shock, or DELIGHT!!!! 😀 Those are Marmy books too. 😉 CLEVER UNPREDICTABLE TWISTS!!!! LOVE ‘EM!
lol It would be that if they are death books. I have a limit. 2 a year. Every once in a while I need a good cry, and a good book will do it. THAT SAID! I already cried in a book this month, so I’m good for a while. 😛
It will be our MTBJ. Maryse ‘s Totally Book Jam club.
And this is our club.
We hate strangers.
So Amy has to stay outside.
Where she, Ela, and Grey will giggle at and mock our acronym.
Well, they do have 12 year old boy humor and it does end in BJ…
LMAO
Psst…. Katherine Allred says she’s hoping to have Sweet Gum Tree out next week!! I keep checking every now and then, so excited! 😀
A club that ends with BJ??? BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!
Wait…what the heck do you mean I have to stay outside?!? You SUCK bev! That’s why your club ends in BJ!!
Where’s Fabi when I need her to commiserate? I held it too long at work today, ran into the stall, started doing the pee-pee dance, couldn’t undo my scrub pants, and then sneezed.
And pissed my damn pants.
FML.
LOL Amy!!!!!!
OMG you poor thing (tee hee!!!). Stupid sneezing! 😉
Thar kinda sucks, Amy.
That.
Thank you so much Maryse!!
My pleasure Sidney! It sounds great!!! 😀
Lol Amy so familiar to the pee pee dance trying to get those stupid scrub pants untied!!!! I’ve become very experienced with tying “rabbit ears” bow with no knot!!! One too many tinkles in my panties!!!!
Anyone read All the Lies We Tell by Megan Hart? I picked it up a few day ago (she is an angsty favorite) and I’m only 9% in and I’m hooked. There is something about her writing style that always draws me in.
Sharon, I LOVE Megan Hart. She’s totally contemporary romance but with that dark and somber edge to her stories. And twisty… love her! Please let us know what you think when you’ve finished.
Amy, you make me laugh!!! Sorry, that I am cackling over your pee-pee, but too funny!
Anyway….for all you lovers of tearjerkers and the ugly cry, I would highly recommend the Needing More series. It was too depressing for me but you crazy masochist’s will love it!! (It doesn’t sound heavy by the blurb but it is)
Thriller sale! The Ice Beneath Her by Camilla Grebe is on sale for 1.99 from 11.99. This one has been on my tbr for a while…definite one click!
I did love the Needing Moore series. *sighs* Very angsty.
Amy, that always sucks. New rule. No sneezing in the bathroom. 😛
Okay. It’s June 28th and I have two books that were five star so far. Both by authors that are insta-buy, so… nothing new discovered this month. Hopefully in the next two days, I’ll be wowed.
Bev, see! BJ. The wrong two initials next to each other. lol
What books were they Tessa? I’m scrolling back over the comments in case you already mentioned them.
I’m in a funk. My Keurig broke, so I don’t have any coffee (ACK!) and I can’t find a book that grabs me. I started Riven, but it hasn’t hooked me yet. I can still walk away. I was on a roll there, with so many 5 star reads in a row. I’m going to check out this list and see if anything stands out.
But it’s our Book Jam. Lol. I was trying to be clever with our initials.
MichelleS…..you know what you could sample……it’s fun……
After Gentleman’s I might dive into The Impossible Vastness of US. Imagine reading books as I buy them.
Then back to my other reads that are really good, Sofia Khan and Miss You. I think one of those weird times I had too much on my mind to settle in. Real world worries kept creeping in….no big worries but still.
I just chose the next one I’m starting, and one-clicked it. I’m going into “The Copper Smith Farm House” :D!! I’m excited. Hearing 5 stars, and so intense, and twist and turns and KA feel. MINE MINE MINE!!
bev… sometimes I get like that. Nothing bad is happening, but I have a million things that keep popping in my head that I need to remember to do, or check… and then I’m popping on and off of the couch like a jack in the box, and my book’s time get’s all chopped up.
The Copper Smith Farmhouse was calling to me too. I’ll wait a bit for an update by you, Maryse. It’s a debut novel, so I’m kind of nervous.
Oooooh we might sorta buddy-read it, MichelleS!! 😀
YO EVERYONE! FABI IS TAKING SIGN UPS FOR PICK-FOR-ME CHALLENGE ON GR. GET YOUR ASSES THERE TO SIGN UP BY THURSDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m sorry,Elaine. I didn’t hear you?
Ilona Andrew’s White Hot and Cassandra Clare’s Lord of Shadows. White Hot was good, and on par and better than the first one, but Lord of Shadows. GAH. So many emotions and my stomach could not stop twisting whenever they mentioned what MIGHT happen. Because, you know it’s all going to go wrong; it’s only book two! Also, add in all the lies and emotions that have to happen, and then that end! GAH. Even accidentally reading it, it still hit me hard!
Ela. Ela. Ela.
Grr. This phone doesn’t know everyone’s names yet and it is frustrating. My old one knew you all.
*wiggles finger in ear and winces* Okay, okay…got it, Ela. 😉
YES Linda…that is the only way to wear scrub pants. But I tied them like normal (instead of just bunny ears) by mistake yesterday morning and paid the price for it. Thank goodness the pants were dark navy and not the orchid ones I was originally going to wear…dark pants cover wet spots. *giggle*
Speaking of the Moore series!!! There is a Moore box set with the three books and bonus material for only .99!!! CLICK!! Never mind that I already have at least a couple of the books. 😐
And thank you all for being amused by my pee-pee pants predicament. I love having friends who will snicker with me over the event.
Okay, I’m a bit knotted up right now over Riven (little bits and pieces of info are being uncovered) but I’m really wishing the first chapter had not revealed what it did. It’s kind of messing up what could be some serious blindsiding.
Unless the first chapter was not a proper reflection of what’s to come and was meant to throw us off what she actually has planned?? I REALLY hope so! *sigh* Reading a book after everyone else has is very lonely… 😛
Just keep reading Amy! Although I love cheating 🙄 But that’s not it…you’ll see
Yes, Maryse guinea pig that book. But if you don’t get into it you can always Shame the Devil.
No it gives nothing away Amy. The murder suicide pact still totally took me by surprise.
*glowers at bev*
*tosses candy confetti at her head*
THANK you Ela…I was beginning to think the whole thing had been spoiled, but after the unforgettable surprise in Rainfall I should know better. 😉
Yeah, bev that twist I NEVER saw coming and that kidnapping totally took me by surprise!
I hate you guys.
Without naming the book (cause spoilers and all) what would you say was most shocking twist you ever read?
I was shocked by the death of a main character but then turned out to be a fake death.
Shocking stuff in anything Aleatha Romig writes.
Can’t think of anymore off top of my head.
So far Leslie I think the biggest shock that I was totally speechless that I couldn’t even cry would be from When Life Happened….at 44% that was a total WTF moment.
I didn’t cry either, Ela. I was PISSED!!!! LOL!
When they shoot the dog.
bev I can’t watch/read anything with dogs… oh no.
I didnt even read that book Ela and I agree. Hee hee
I am not one who enjoys twists. In fact, most times I hate them (Aleatha’s books excluded) so I totally read spoilers for When Life Happened.
This is cool.

“Shhh,” I press my finger to his lips, steeling myself to stick to my course of action. “Tell me after.”
Oh, my heart… *sob*
It’s a hard course she is on. But you’ve got to wonder if she would of let him speak if he would of called the pact off.
We will never know.
Oh no…I’m pretty sure I know what’s coming…where the he!! is everyone who’s already read it?!? Huh?? GAH!!!!
No, bev. NO. I can hear the gears turning in your head all the way across the state line. I’ve got an armful of hug with your name on it if you try it…
Here I am Amy!!! :D!!!!!
Greatest twist? One word. Always.
*hands up*
Not thinking or saying anything.
Uh-Oh.
Um….it’s the Copper Farm one. The sheriff does it.
With his gun.
The kids cries.
A lot.
To Tell The Truth you should probably put it down.
Choose something else.
Shame that, though
Like maybe… the Devil? 😛
Really it is Old Yeller. Why did my elementary school think that was a good choice of movies. Not sure if I read the book.
*hops onto sofa beside Maryse and snuggles into her and Manny*
Oops, I got snuffle on your top. *sniffle* Sorry. 😕
AMY YOU READ IT!!??????
*squeeeeee*!!! Yes Rainfall remains #1 and the most unique and original and one of the best twists ever. But this one was darn gooooood. This author is also one of my new immediate one-clicks.
I mean if that’s what you want to infer.
OMG bev… *snort*
THIS is what *I* infer…

I’ve read the Coppersmiths farm it was good but not 5 stars.
But someone mentioned Coffee and we are in Florida at the moment and my husband is getting so upset as he can’t buy a decent coffee in the USA. Where can he buy a latte here that’s good. Australia is very big in coffee shops. Please help save the holiday.
*wipes eyes*
You guys make me laugh. Thankyou for brightening my wintry day.
What is the difference in the coffee to him, Melinda?
I like McDonald’s & Dunkin Donuts coffee so much better than Starbucks. That bitter crap is awful! No clue where to get a cappucino.
I mean Latte. Whatever. Something frothy!
Coffee Bean and Tea is pretty good. I like theirs better than Starbucks. 😀 McDonalds does sell Lattes, Michelle. 😛
But Starbucks iced teas are the bomb!
I know feel an overwhelming urge to go to Orlando for coffee.
I also like my coffee even though I can’t handle the caffeine daily but a few times a week. Last year on our trip to Poland OMG I think I’ve had the best coffee at this little chocolatier shop in Krakow!!!
We went to Starbucks asked for a an espresso Latte 16 oz and he got a black espresso. He was so pissed threw it in the rubbish. Said they know shit about coffee. But I think it’s our accent and they way we are saying it. I think it’s hilarious. I don’t drink coffee. He has in Australia about 4 a day.
Then we went to another Starbucks and my daughter said I will order dad. He said it was just ok. Very average. At least he didn’t throw it in the rubbish. He said he likes it strong bitter flavoursome. Latte for the froth. His words.
Europe is very good for coffee. Excellent actually.
We are now going to Dunkin donuts to try that . I’ii give you an update.
Wait! Bitter with froth? Not a cappuccino though? Those can be bitter with froth, especially if you ask for a dark roast. Have him ask for either a latte or cappuccino, but dark roast. They’ll use a different bean.
FLT:
The man didn’t look like much at first glance.
The Slouch Witch by Helena Harper
Honestly, I will drink coffee anywhere. BUT I know picky coffee drinkers who will not. They turn their noses up at Starbucks, DD And so forth.
That’s why find an coffee shop that is not a national chain.
FLT, I forgot.
FLT: I thought of you when I read this quote from “The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue” by Mackenzi Lee –
“On the morning we are to leave for our Grand Tour of the Continent, I wake in bed beside Percy.”
Biggest shockers? So many! One that comes to mind was Welsie in BDB.
Also – that twist for Dani in the Book That Shall Not Be Named. Ugh! And what happens in Forbinnen. So so many shockers! When Circe gets slapped! Slapped?!?!? When Tate calls Lauren fat & old! I can go on & on.
Oh I got another one….ONE WORD FANNETTI!
Show the Fire (Signal Bend #6) by Susan Fanetti! Fanettied US
Wrong by Jana Aston is Audible’s daily deal today!!!! I already own it, but it’s one of my favorites.
Oh thank you Ashley!!! 😀
Success with Dunkin donut. We got a triple shot and the lady was really helpful. He gave it 7/10. That’s not bad. But I think what Tessa said is the trick. Thankyou Tessa. And Grey and Bev and anyone else I’ve missed.
Popping in because apparently my comment didnt post last night. *grumbles about crappy WiFi*
At my kiddos AllStar baseball game… And now want a yummy iced flavored something from Starbucks or Dunkin, haha! Be safe, Melinda!
Michelle, what did you rate Whispers and the Roars?
I can’t wait for the new Pick for Me challenge… And July is my challenge month! Squee… Of course this means I actually have to pick a book. I was going to Read the newest one by Christina Lauren, but haven’t started it yet and now with July literally a couple days away… Not sure I want to. No FLT for me right now.
Yay for Dunkin Donuts. Did he get a donut too??? LOL. I think donuts are super American. Germans don’t eat sweet for breakfast.
Whispers & Roars…. 4.5 stars. These big WHAMO books are not rereads for me, that’s why not 5 stars. But it was a great read.
FLT: “The alley was dark, cold and empty—with no sign of Jonathan Roberts.” – Omega Mine.
Don’t laugh. I needed some good old style PNR, and this is delivering on that note. He’s about as alpha as they come. 6 foot six, tattoos, Harley riding, long dark hair, and the Omega of all the shifters. She’s 5 foot nothin’, short spikey blonde hair with pink highlights, and super sassy. And she’s his “mate”, of course. I said DON’T LAUGH. It’s hot.
Now THIS is hot…. I’m over the detailed sex “stuff” involving fluids & the like. This is soooo much hotter! Do you agree?
“Air escaped her lungs in a quiet sigh and her lids slid closed when his lips brushed against hers, side to side, left to right. The gesture was so innocent, so intimate. Her mouth opened in welcome and he accepted the invitation like a gentleman.”
-Omega Mine
Fluids and the like–LOL.
I feel like that should be the name of a new game.
*laughs at Michelle saying ‘don’t laugh’ *
We would never laugh at someone’s book choices (well, hardly ever. Heh heh…..)
*goes to check out Omega Mine*
Ooh. the first one that came up is a mm wolf shifter book about the ‘sparrow ridge wolf pack’ (Is that a joke?)
*clicks on second book in list*
Oh yeah, it must be that one. Why we would we laugh, Michelle? It looks pretty good. Might even snap me out of my current HR obsession.
*downloads sample of Omega Mine*
What’s that? Did I hear someone laughing????????
Great idea! Post the most unsexy sex scene details! LOL
Aline Hunter is author. Lots of Omegas out there, eh?
Never laugh.
I used to glom person. I loved the whole shifter mate trope. I have some in my tbr. I started one about a bear shifter a few months back but then….. squirrel.
Ooh Michelle I’m sure we’ve all read some shockers. But as they’re so bad I usually dnf and can’t remember where to look now for those sordid examples. I know ages ago I did (partly) read a real shocker about a rock star who had a frighteningly enormous, um, appendage, like 12″ or something. it was just SO RIDICULOUS and not sexy at all that I just stopped reading.
Those pesky fluids were also why I couldn’t finish KA’s first honey series book. Waaayyyy too much icky fluid for me……… 🙁
Peeps, we don’t need ALL of the deets.
Speaking of “frightening appendages”, anyone remember that Vampire series (Scansguards I think) where the vamp had TWO appendages? That was just a big no for me!
“appendages”??!?!?
Is that what you crazy kids are calling it these days?
*cackles with laughter*
2 appendages. Sorry, the placement and all just sounds nope. Now, nothing wrong with a fun wolfy book. 😛 Now if you read a dinosaur book…
I haven’t read a dinosaur shifter book! Ha! But Laurenston used just about every kind of were there could be. Anita Blake too. I want a good old fashioned werewolf, no bears, lions, dragons, etc. renember the werebadger? And werehamster?
Um….I’ve read Dragon books.
I still remember reading Hamilton and Feehan for the first time. Kenyon too, when that whole wolf/vampire PNR phase took off. Though guess Anita would be more UF. Don’t read any of them anymore. Not because I don’t like the genres, cause I do, just their series don’t work for me anymore.
I remember when the Anita books were dark in a gory scary way, not my usual choice but…
Hey, werebadger, Dr. Doolittle. That one will always be okay. 😛 I don’t know if the other is a shifter book. It’s just the fact that it exist has me trying to figure out the dynamics.
Leslie did you end up liking Good Boy? I never saw your feedback.
I’m reading Stay now and it’s really good too. I love the lightness and humor these authors give to their characters.
Bev, I loved Anita to begin with. Then, she had a personality change and I didn’t like them anymore. The last few Kenyons have been rehashes of other books. What was new took about 30%. I got the latest from the library. That way I’m not paying full price for thirty percent of a book.
Tessa… I stopped Anita 3/4’s of the way through the series. I LOVED it at first. Obsessively so, and then it got so weird…
OK old loves.
HR: Garwood. Her heroines used to make me laugh. And of course THE HIGHLANDERS!
CR:Nora Roberts. I first found her old pb silhouette books. I devoted them. Loved her heroines, friendships, and family relationships. The MacGregor family series all those cousins. Plus, I liked that she writes about different professions an careers.
UF: Hamilton’s Anita Blake series. Anita was bad ass while just being human. Her mentor was a sociopath. I remember it was freaky that her vamps could sneak in cracks in your house. And one time something went on a rampage in the hospitals baby nursery. It used to freak me out and I don’t usually like that.
Haha. I remember reading a saucy alien book where one of the aliens had two, um, you know, appendages. I did read that one all the way through. *blushes*
Tessa, that series went so down hill. All of the characters changed. It was so odd.
Speaking of coffee…Bev, did u see Luke’s making his own coffee?! https://www.today.com/popculture/gilmore-girls-star-scott-patterson-launching-his-own-coffee-brand-t113278?cid=sm_npd_td_fb_ma
😀 Again no judging. Ice planet books are good, but they have a thing? on their appendage.
I found Hamilton because I wanted a good vampire book! My niece read the back and thus I was hooked.
Same with Garwood. It opened a whole world for me.
CR, I’m going odd and saying Linda Howards. I didn’t really read CR at the time, but I was so addicted to her books. Not the mystery but the angst. SO MUCH ANGST!
OMG. I’d totally buy that. Lol. Still not sure what I think of a year in the life.
Oh I saw something fun recently hold on, Tasha…..
Copper boom.
https://www.buzzfeed.com/rebekahxxxx/this-game-of-mash-will-determine-what-your-gilmor-1tskn?utm_term=.pvggLR1qE#.huJP14onk
I had a crush on Nora Roberts too. I still reread some of them occasionally.
Other old loves:
HR – Georgette Heyer, Anya Seton (remember those?), Judith McNaught (I used to like her CRs as well)
And if we’re going REALLY old school, I used to sneakily read some of my Mum’s Mills and Boons (= Harlequin). I remember liking Essie Summers’ books set in the New Zealand High Country. Out of curiosity, I reread one not that long ago and found it extremely lame. So much (TOO much!) left unsaid, too much unrequited angst and silly mixups before a final kiss and HEA. Ugh. I used to like those????
I came late to the pnr party and never read Twilight (I know) or some of the other popular authors. I’ve now found I like some of them, like Patricia Briggs and some of Nalini Singh, but I tried Anita Blake and Kenyon and a couple of others everyone raved about and they just didn’t do it for me. Maybe I just tried the wrong books of theirs? And I still just don’t like vampires. I don’t like the blood. I know, lame……
Jan… for Kenyon, read Acheron!!! 😀 DO IT.
FLT:
Jason’s neighbours’ house was much nicer than his own.
Six of Hearts by L.H. Cosway
Fabi, I really liked Good Boy! 4**** and Blake was awesome.
Yes!! My hubs is Jess! *twirls*
Paris Geller is my bff
Working at the Dragonfly 🙂
My enemy is Kirk
Luke is my neighbor 😀
And my super cool hangout is Stars Hollow High *puts on shades*
Lol that was fun! I’m angry with the revival. I loved it and hated it. And I’m disappointed. But, I’d watch more also if they did it again. Talking as Fast as I Can is coming in next for me at the library. *happy wiggle* It’s been on hold since January…
Lol, Tasha. I married Luke, hung out at the diner, BFF with Lorraine and Babette was my neighbor.
Grr autocorrect.
BFF with Lorelai. Oh, and April was my enemy, hah.
I have it on audible if you listen to books, Tasha? Lauren narrates it.
Only problem with the nonfiction audio is no pictures.
So we’re neighbors now. I’ve only listened to a cpl audio books and I did like them. Not sure if I retained as much listening as I would have reading, but who knows. I don’t remember a lot from books I’ve read and adored either.
Jan – I think i read that Alien Book too! It was that series where the Earth girls got chosen to be with the warrior protectors or something, right? So weird!
I am paiting instead of reading. I need to let the paint dry & pick up my book!
Tasha let me know if you want to give it a listen. I’m not too happy with a year in the life either but I would definitely watch more of they make more. It’s just one of my very favorite shows ever.
Michelle what are you painting and what color?
Thanks Maryse. I’ll have a look at Acheron. I can’t remember which ones I tried but that doesn’t ring any bells.
Michelle I’m not sure if that was the same alien one as I read. This one had a bada$$ earth girl? who was a ship’s navigator or something??? And she hooked up with a macho ships’s captain but the alien with his extra *part* was in the mix as well. It was pretty saucy, from memory. 🙂
OK I went and looked it up. It’s Victorious Star by Morgan Hawke. The sauce level is high. You’ve been warned LOL.
Jan – that wasn’t the one. I can’t believe extra appendages are a common theme. Ick.
I’m painting abstracts on canvas, Bev. Using negative space. Lots of bright colors. Mixed media.
Hello Maryse
I just finished “Until it Fades” by K.A. Tucker and i enjoyed it so much and it was such a great read! It had a little bit of everything I love in a story; a strong heroine, a sassy funny as hell kid, a sexy h, great supporting characters, ands the story (she saves his life and he’s famous). The story had me tearing up one minute and laughing the next. I would love to read more from this group of characters in the future. K.A. are you listening?
Oh yes!! Thank you Northernstar! I’ll add your recommendation to tomorrow’s list. That book sounds awesome and I love her!!!
