Considering you have a nice Pepper Winters copy I’m not sure what YOU should read BUT I started Collared AND I HAVE THIS FEELING THIS WILL BE EPIC!

Maryse…..I am excited about the new Bella Jewel book, getting ready to start reading it. Was so excited to see it was released.

I also have a dumb question to ask, how do you and your readers keep up with the books you read from (Kindle Unlimited)? I just started a book that I had already read, but didn’t realize it until I was a third into it, and it was a kindle unlimited. When you purchase a book, Amazon will tell you when you purchased it, that way I can tell if I had read it before. I read about 15-20 books a month. Just curious, love the blog and thanks for keeping us well informed.

Lisa Kay I keep track of my books on Good Reads, which helps a lot. You can create categories etc.

Thanks Ela, and Fabi, I appreciate it the advice. I just wondered if there was a way to keep track instead of writing them down. I will try doing that on Good Reads.

Speaking of names, I have one for you all (Amy, you will love this)…….My Mother went to school with 2 boys and a girl whose last name is Dick. The 2 boys name were Harry and Curly and the sisters name was Mary Etta. I didn’t believe my Mom and she had to pull her yearbook out and show me. Sure enough, there they were!! I swear on my precious Mothers grave Im telling you the truth!! What in the world were the parents thinking when they named those kids??

Just finished Collared!!! O.M.G. I freaking LOVED it! I ran the gamut of emotions…. I was giddy, oh the angst! I cried, I smiled, I sighed and I want MORE MORE AND MORE!!!! GAHHHHHHHHH perfect read after Thousand Boy

Michelle, I’m reading Finding North by Carmen Jenner. I bought it when Maryse posted it a few weeks ago and am just now getting to it. It started out all hot and funny and hot hot hot, and then turned into a heartbreaker. Sneaky, sneaky book.

OMG I do that too near the end of books I’m loving. I step away near the end and come back to finish it. Soaking up the feels. 🙂

No, I want to read it because 10 Years ago, I played a game. In the game, my sister in law bought a doll looking statue, and left it on my in game house porch with a note. It said her character killed a woman and trapped her soul in the doll and to enjoy. We spent years with doll stories after that. Hopefully, this book will give her a push to write those stories. 🙂

That’s funny that a couple of us walk away during the more intense moments in a book to soak it in. Well I finished Ugly Love and seriously when is that movie out because I NEED to see it!

Think I will start a few chapters in Blue Lily, Lily Blue. I need to find a new audio book for my drive tomorrow too.

Michelle one I think, only from the sample, would maybe make a good audio is Simon vs the HomoSapiens Agenda. But just saw the price has gone way up since I read it.

Michelle the least expensive Audibles I find are the ones that have whispersync for the books I already have on my Kindle library. Since the tbr is so big, there’s always something there I haven’t gotten to read yet. Sometimes I picked up a free Kindle book and can add Audible to it for $1.99. I use that tool that Maryse posts above to help me find Audible versions of books I already own with. You just have to sample the narrator first to make sure it’s a good one.

I am starting Finley now. It’s late but I can’t resist at least starting it. 🙂

The Samatha Towle books are great. Good price well worth the money, wish it would continue

I have a list on Amazon that you all recommend that sounds good but don’t buy asap. Then everyday I run the filter on the list that alerts price drops. Then if I still want to read I buy at the reduced price so that is how I keep track of sale books. But it’s recommended ones.

Sad to say but no, I didn’t correct him. If it was the first time, I would have but after a while there is no point. Plus when you pay with a check which has it written out clear as day…..What’s one letter in the scheme of things? The same thing occurs with a school teacher I know also and I have texted her in the past with my name on it….so whatever.

After Ive finished lovin’ the Crows, Ponies and their Wolfy friends in the Courtyard.
(Ive just had five days of fishing, swimming, drinking wine and eating fresh seafood. But not much reading.)

I’m only on Chapter 4 of Finley, but damn, Ella Frank can write. I am already 100% invested in these characters. *shiver*

I ordered some samples a couple weeks ago by a skincare company. I have bad skin, lol. Just sensitive, acne, oily now aging and likes to burn. Sigh.
Anyway usually products like these would seem to heavy but I’m really liking them. The samples are small but are going to last awhile. A bit goes along way. But now have to decide if want to invest when done cause very $$$$$.

Bev, what’s the skincare? Now I’m curious???? Does it diminish wrinkles???? Give you an instant brow and eye lift?

I finally finished Cruel and Beautiful last night, and today I’m just…sad. Actually, melancholy would be a better word. Even shopping online for scrubs made me tear up. *sniffle* I’m so glad y’all get it here. 😉

Bev…if you like the product then it is worth the investment. I really wish I had started taking better care of my skin earlier, but I was so naive in thinking that because my skin looked great I didn’t need to moisturize or use night creams or exfoliate. Now I’m paying the price for it. 😕

The stories have been hinting at the issues of the fey coming to a head for quite a while. Not saying what happened, but it has been building for a long time. The pack has been growing and honestly, stuff that needed to happen finally did in this one. Also, everything that happened happened for a reason. Have you read the Alpha and Omega series?

I’m 24% into Collared and SOOOOOOO did not see this twist coming!! I mean, I thought I had an idea, but then the author just TOTALLY knocked me backwards!!! Holy hell! Pun intended… Lol This book is going to gut me! Thanks for the spoiler thread Ela! I think I’m going to need it!

On another note, I read Music Notes and it was a very fun, light-hearted read. It didn’t have the angst I always love, but it was a beautifully written love story. Definitely a good read after a dark book. One thing I loved was that the author created two different endings. You hit a fork in the road during the story, where it can go one of two ways. The author lets you choose one of two paths. I would have LOVED this for Ground Rules Undone! Very creative and fun!

Renee, Manny is our sweet little resident stuffed manatee that we snuggle and snuffle on when a book kicks our hearts’ a$$es. I really enjoyed Fire Touched. I like what happened between Mercy & the pack. Long time coming Adam. I wish we would of seen Bran, but hopefully next book. I need to catch up on the Alpha & Omega books since the seem to be more connected now.

A list of books that made you angry or That Pi$$ed you off the MOST!

Oh yeah, something I wanted to mention about Cruel and Beautiful…it’s a past-present story, but one that works (for me, at least), and in the past the H is “perfect” and amazingly patient and sweet to the point of making your teeth hurt. BUT, because of the drama and light to medium angst of the present story, the sweetness of the past actually worked. Again, for me at least.

Ugh, there are some other things I want to say but don’t want to mess it up for anyone. But I will say that even though I was frustrated with my overactive brain initially (try the first chapter *snort*) it ended up working for the best for me. So if your brain does the same hing, know it won’t ruin the story. 😉 Gah, I hope that’s cryptic, not spoilerish. If it is, Maryse, feel free to edit all of that out please!!

Or look at the bad side. Read enough of them and build such a tolerance that nothing really makes you feel angsty anymore.

Amy, the skincare line is Mahalo. I’m using the Petal mask as a cleanser. Then the indigo face balm then the vitality elixir. Im toning with cvskinlabs relief spray. But not sure how my sunscreen will layer. Probably be too much for day.

The POV thing is my biggest ugh, honestly. I just want one POV, not twenty. I’m not really a fan of dual POV, though I’ll read them, but yeah. Too many POVs. That said, I still liked it a lot. I love seeing where everything is headed.

I didn’t so much mind the ending of Ground Rules, the whole thing just felt rushed to me, and some of the plot “twists” felt soap-opera-ey convenient. I love indie books, but this is third in a series and the mistakes were heavy. So much so, I began highlighting them. Not sure if it was the same for the 1st 2 books, but if it was, I didn’t notice them.

Michelle, like KU, the Audible subscription is cost-effective only if you use it enough to make it so. I’ve discontinued it and restarted it a couple of times based on how much I use audio books at the time.

Some audio books cost well into the $20’s, so the credit that you pay $14 for is cost-effective as long as you “buy” at least one of those per month. Mostly, it’s 1 credit = 1 book. Never use your credit on a $1.99 book because that would be throwing money away. Credits will roll over for a few months if there isn’t a good expensive book you want in a particular month. Also, and I may get in trouble for saying this, but if you try your subscription and then decide to cancel, they will usually give you a reduced price trial for 2-3 months.

The last one I used a credit on was Marked in Flesh. The price is $24.50 so by using a credit I saved about $10 on it. The next one I want to use a credit on is $17.14 (30% reduced because of the subscription and still $3 more than the monthly subscription costs).

I used to go through a couple of audio books a week so I had a higher credit subscription back then as well as taking advantage of their sales and bonus credit buys. Now I don’t spend as much time driving and read more on my Kindle so I take advantage of the Whispersync bargains we get when we already own the Kindle version of the book.

That was long…hope it made sense.

I’m still reading the Calendar Girl series with my friend. It’s been good, a little far-fetched at times and want to b!tch-slap the h sometimes, but overall a really good read. Just time consuming to read 12 books. Can’t wait to finish (and see how this ends) and move on to something else. Just have no idea what’s next. All this controversy over Collared puts it on the list and so many new releases from yesterday and today that I clicked!!

I agree about Ground Rules. Book 3 just ruined it for me because it was too convenient and contrived.

Ela..I AM DONE! Like literally done. Collared…the ending…I agree with you Ela. *huffing and puffing, kicking gravel around with foot*. I mean really, REALLY. I feel like I didn’t get what I wanted…I got over my panic in the beginning…about 40% in I was good. I could handle it, no worries it’s a breeze…My hope starts building. I am getting the feel goods…I’m picking the wrapping paper and what color bow to go on the box its going to be in at the end. AND then splat!?! I feel like I was sideswiped.

I don’t normally comment, but I love your blog Maryse and I just wanted to say you should read these books. They really are beautifully written and so emotionally perfect!

Cheryl…I’ve only read through Shadowfever, and I’ve held off starting book 6 and beyond because I’m worried Barrons will disappoint me with his actions based on things I’ve read here. And I don’t want to be disappointed in him. 🙁 BUT, there has also been some love for the new books so I don’t know. *shrug* Maybe we’ll venture into them together, eh?? 😉

That week was so busy and stressful. Well, really two weeks in a row. Until this weekend I had only read Wow & Me for this month. When I had time to read I just wanted to sleep, lol.
Anyways, my mood was just off. So I decided to read Fire Touched on Friday/Sat. Just needed an easy fast read. Then jumped into The Kraken King. Really fun.
IDK, sounds weird probably but I was stressed/emotional /tired and didn’t want to bring those emotions into the experience. Next week it’s mine, lol.
