Okay, I have a question for I guess any of the authors who write NA. With how flooded the market is with NA books, how difficult is it to come up with a story that doesn't follow the same "script" as others, and how

This could be for an author of any genre…have they ever had an idea for a plot or even a scene that they just *loved* and were terribly excited over and then found out it appeared in another book before they had a chance to put it in their own story? How did they handle it? Did they use it anyway?

OMG Amy we are in a league of our own… My friends are venting and fighting on FB and I clueless to everything around me, because I am lost in my books. Thank God hubby knows me well (as he should it’s only been 18+ years), hehehe…

Bev, it was on a Nook ad. It’s one of those phrases that makes me think they never read a romance in their life. I agree on the 80s and 70s stuff. The evil R word was the norm. Shoot, people want dark romance, pick up an old Rosemary Rogers, or the early Bertrice Small books. *disclaimer, I will not ever read a Rosemary Rogers book again!* I just keep wondering, what makes them say it?

Yep I hear you Tessa, I wish I had more hours in the day too. I go to work and my eyes are popping out of my head as I am so tired. Hard to explain that it’s self inflicted because i just had to read the next chapter in my book or I had 10% left which couldn’t wait until tomorrow.

I just finished My time in the affair by Stylo Fantome which was brilliant after reading Ahead of the darkness/out of the darkness by Simone Nicole with the sexy Scotsman. I was picturing one of the guys at work as the lead (because of the accent) which is just wrong when u r in meetings and can’t stop laughing to yourself. Thank god no one can read minds……

Hehehe That could get very awkward. Funny, but awkward. *grins* Is anyone else reading End of Days yet?

Okay Maryse and Cheryl, you guys just gave me an excuse to run back to the mall on Friday…I’m hitting up Bare Minerals, Sephora and MAC!!! I am a die hard UD Eyeshadow Primer Potion fan, but I’m going to give that BM one a try. And that Becca shimmering stuff…maybe it will deflect the gloriousness that my aging skin has become. *snort* Good lord, I’m going to need a bigger makeup case…more shopping!! 😀

Bev I am starting Under the Influence today. I was going to start reading yesterday but got distracted watching The Royals lol. I am liking that show although I don’t think the monarchy acts like that, but what would I know lol

I love MAC! Their Mineralized Skinfinish Natural is everything! I love their lipsticks, blushes and eye shadows too. For foundation I really like the Revlon Colorstay or the Rimmel Lasting Finish. I am looking for a good primer though. Oh and if you are looking for a great finishing powder you guys should totally check out the Nars Translucent Crystal Powder. That powder blurs every imperfection! Its like Photoshop for your face! Love it 🙂

I have a question for Tarryn Fisher, kinda long-winded but here it is…

Her characters tend to go through so much in her stories, with Senna being the most tragic character of all and even Olivia facing a particularly heartbreaking issue at the end of Thief after all that happened throughout the series. Does she know ahead of time what will happen to the characters or is it more that the events unfold as she writes and she feels she has to let the bad sh!t happen to them, as I’ve heard other authors say how they write. And how does it affect her when her characters suffer that way after she has grown and nurtured them?

Oh, and I would never want her stories to unfold or end any other way…the fact that there is no guarantee of a traditional HEA in her books is what I love the most about them!

Cheryl, thank you so much for mentioning Collide and Pulse, I have been meaning to read those two and forgot all about them, until I read your comment. The cover for Collide, alone makes me *squee*… One click, happy hump day to me! But why is Pulse so expensive?!?!

Also MAC Prep+Prime Fortified Skin Enhancer works beautifully and has SPF in it as well. Both of those are staples for me along with MAC Prep+Prime Skin (among others). You really don’t want to know how long my makeup routine is. *giggle*

Oh Tessa I finished Fear You yesterday and really liked both books. They are pretty dark and Keiran’s past was very disturbing. Now I can’t wait for Fear Us! I love Keenan!

And Kate I picked up a couple M/M yeaterday for a $1 as well that had been on my Amazon wish list Promises by Mary Sexton and Shades of Gray by Brooke McKinley and while I was searching around discovered a HAWT series by Kora Knight called Upending Tad bundle the series are 5 novellas of a GFY theme…the bundle is the first 3 novellas foe $4.99 and they are scorching….highly recommend for M/M enthusiasts!

Thanks Anne and Tessa for clearing that up….I’m reading Fear you and don’t know if I could of handled another cliffhanger…..but on another note ….sooo excited that this series is continuing….I just absolutely love her writing style….it cracks me up at the same time it frightens me….very odd combination….don’t know if y’all understand ( or if even I understand )what I’m talking about

Deborah I know what you mean! It’s pretty dark but it had some “light” moments too were I would laugh a little. Still its pretty intense! I love her writing too and so excited to read the next books in the series.

I always feel like I’m the only one. But……I didn’t enjoy Collide. I never went on to read Pulse. There is one scene I remember when I really thought they were being unkind to one of the hero’s “friend”.

Bev, I started Collide twice. The first time, something about it didn’t click with me. When I went back to it I enjoyed it then.

Amy, Collide and Pulse are angsty and have that love triangle going for it. I thought the Driven series had a lot of angst. Started but haven’t finished Fear Me- would say not angst but more obviously fear with mind games.

First line:Three whole years. I’d had a boyfriend for three whole years, and I still had more orgasms when I was by myself. Yeh, I know it’s two lines, but so much better with line two!! 😉 Falling Away by Penelope Douglas. Trying to finish this book and then Aflame.

I haven’t read the Driven series yet either….. but my niece keeps bugging me to….

First line Thursday: “People often thought “Sanders” was Sanders’ last name; it wasn’t – his last name was Dashkevich.” Separation (Book #2 of Kane Trilogy).

Not a very exciting first line but after Degradation and absolutely loving Sanders, it works for me!!! I seriously loved the first book!

I decided my next is The Sky is Every Where by Jandy Nelson. Cover to Cover. That’s it, lol. Only problem rest of day and evening is not going to be as lazy, so not sure how far I’ll get.

*grins* Hyde and Seek is seriously good. It has that right feels that I adore. I don’t know if it’s KA type, since I haven’t read that many by her so far. However, it has that humor, bossy alpha, and tons of sweet.

I just finished reading After The Rain. I have loved what Renee Carlino has written previously, but I had a hard time clicking with this one. Her writing style usually is smoother and so well-written. This one feels choppy and almost “amatuerish” in it’s writing. The story was good, but it just doesn’t have the feel to it like her previous books. 🙁

Now I’m not sure what to read next….guess I should finish Fear Me and Fear You, but just not getting into it… ugh

Aww Cheryl. Don’t read Fear Me if you aren’t in the mood for that type. It’s definitely a type. I can hightly recommend Hyde and Seek at this point though. Sweet, funny, with a total bossy alpha. 🙂

Jean, I was just going to say Until the End of the World would be a good one. Amy got me to read the series and it was great although yes the second book is sooooo sad…I still get choked up 🙁

Oh Jean, I’m soooo glad you’re loving it! Don’t read the blurb for So Long, Lollipops before you finish book 1 though…just don’t. It’s a novella and doesn’t HAVE to be read, but it’s a nice little extra to something that happens in book 1.

And by the way…since you took our word for it on UTEOTW, I’m going to start Becoming Calder as soon as I finish with Collide and Pulse. 😉
