in Latest Book Releases

Happy New Release day and Thanksgiving week!! Just a few more days until I’m in a perpetual turkey coma (’cause yes, I’ll be happily eating Thanksgiving leftovers for days after). I don’t get sick of it.

Today’s release list presents a few that have me wiggling in my seat, like that one up there to the left. OMG it sounds intense, and it’s Megan Hart, and I LOVE HER (I’ve read and reviewed many of her books) so I know. LOL!! Oh. And did you guys know that the Harry Potter books have just been released in audiobook format? I posted ‘em below in the audio section. :D !!! ALSO —> KINDLE Black Friday deals are on right now, and they are BIG deals.

Okay, so what looks extra blurb-jolty, to me, today? Hold Me Close (they were both kidnapped together as teens, survived and bonded, and as adults are in a turbulent relationship together), Sin and Sorrow (her vampire family – husband and child – has been killed, they don’t feed from humans, and she wants revenge, but falls in love with the son of the man that hunts them), Taking It Off (embarrassed school teacher at a strip club bachelorette party, and the owner & sexy headliner takes notice), Denial (wakes up in Italy with no memory and has been “claimed” by a man), Butterfly Dreams (she’s a severe hypochondriac, afraid of dying, and falls for someone with heart disease), Wild Kisses (she has to attract the hottest guy on campus to get into the sorority, but starts falling for him…). Vegas Love sounds like SO MUCH FUN, too! (He’s working for his brother as a talent agent and *whoops*… marries the starlet he’s been assigned to, in Vegas! Accidentally?). LOL!!! I highlighted a few more below that sounds darn good, too!

Oh!!! And look what I found (or saw, ’cause it was an author that found ‘em)? Adorbs “bookish” find of the day? An author just posted these and I saw ‘em scrolling on my Facebook wall, and she’s in love, and OMG THEY ARE TOOOOOOO CUTE! I had to post ‘em, too! Hot Chocolate Design Chocolaticas Notebook Women’s Mary Jane Flat (there are SO many adorable mismatched-perfectly matched may-jane shoes designs (like one is popcorn print -a actual popcorn, and the other is the movie popcorn bag, or like, OH!!! One is a whole strawberry print, and the other is a cute little strawberry design, and one is the inside of the watermelon, and the other is the outside of the watermelon and so on. I’m in love with these. So unique and girly and I want every single design! They even have heels! Here they all are if you’re curious. They even have matching little girl shoes. *sigh* :D  Hot Chocolate Design CUTE SHOES!!

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

P.P.S. Don’t have a Kindle? No problem! Amazon offers various free Kindle apps and a free Kindle Cloud reader for any and ALL of us to use. You can either use the free Kindle App for your smartphone, tablet, AND your desktop computer (just like you’re using a Kindle, but right through your web browser <— No need to download anything! :D )

For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free ebooks deal —>

  • AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!

  5. The Man I Love (The Fish Tales Book 1) by Suanne Laqueur <—  MY OWN Update on this one that I’m still reading…she’s a remarkable writer. The story is amazing.. the first 20% I was getting used to all of the characters and the feel of it (and her writing was very eloquent, mature and kind of… BIG, and it was taking a bit for me to “fit into” the story) but now? HOLY MOLY she is good. This is as real as it gets. I LOVE IT.

Also, one of my favorite things to see, as the books progressed, the writing got better. I love seeing an author grow that way. Super huge recommendation.”

Wow! Maryse!!!!!!!!!! You are super early!!! Great job!!!!

Maryse November 24, 2015 at 10:03 AM

LOL!!! I started it late last night… ;) a nice head start had me finishing early this morning.

bev November 24, 2015 at 10:14 AM

Some one had their coffee this morning.

Tessa November 24, 2015 at 10:17 AM

Soooo many good books. I wish I could listen to audiobooks. Maryse, seriously, find a way to read Harry Potter. That series is the one series I still smack my head for not mentioning in my favorites. (It has the number one spot) I’ve read the series so many times, I had to get them in hard back form because my paperbacks were trashed. My mom loved them, and she HATED fantasy. Just… try it!

Ooooh. I forgot that Sweet Ruin was next week. Next week is going to be expensive! :) Misconduct, Sweet Ruin, Final Debt… *squees*

I loved the Noah’s Own series so much, it didn’t even register that Breaking Love was new and I’d been anticipating it. I just was lie, huh. Maybe a returned book? *facepalm*

Maryse November 24, 2015 at 10:19 AM

Heck yes, bev!!!! Coffee was GOOOOOOD too.

Ela November 24, 2015 at 10:38 AM

I can’t wait for the final debt book so I can start the series!

On another note, I’m finishing up Suit and loving it. So many questions though! Thank goodness Slut is out!

Maryse November 24, 2015 at 10:39 AM

Oh YES Tessa… your crazy super-mean bully series!!!

Maryse November 24, 2015 at 10:39 AM

LOL Those titles, Ela.

Cristina November 24, 2015 at 1:10 PM

I’m counting the days until Final Debt! I just started the series late last week. I usually wait until a series is complete (or close to it) before I start reading it. This series (for me) started off kinds slow (book #1) then BAM! your snowballing down a hill! It just keeps getting better and better! I’m just getting ready to start #5 and sneaking reading moments on my computer at work. (Tee hee hee ;-) ) The end to #4 was just jaw dropping! I’m so happy I picked up this series! I’m loving the way it’s screwing with my mind. Happy Thanksgiving everyone and happy reading!! :-)

Tracy November 24, 2015 at 1:26 PM

The Man I Love was fantastic. I read it a few months ago and it has stayed with me. Every time I see the cover on my Kindle app I stop and go over the story in my mind.

Tessa November 24, 2015 at 2:07 PM

Cristina, yeah! Isn’t the series insane? I am so excited for the last one. So many people need to die in it to make me happy. Or suffer horribly. I’ll allow suffer instead.

Ela, first off, start reading the series. The final book comes out Monday. :) And and, Nucking Futs Nux on a wild goose chase? Something tells me it’s not a really wild, but instead something huge. Oooh I wonder if they’ll find Furie or find out exactly where she is? That’ll up the game big time!

Cristina November 24, 2015 at 2:44 PM

Couldn’t agree more Tess! I’ll be starting book 5 this evening. I am definitely hoping and anticipating some really evil people to die and/or suffer! Starting with the old crow at the very top!! Every book as a bigger ending than the one before it! I’ve been experiencing moments of “Yes, yes YES!!” and then.. “Did that seriously just happen?!” and THEN… “Oh no! Oh no! Oh HELL no!! NOOOOOO!!” This series is just one heck of a crazy ride!! :-)

Tessa November 24, 2015 at 3:04 PM

ROFL YES! I keep telling people to read it because it messes with your mind, big time. I just want three people to die a horrible death, then I’ll be happy.

Ela November 24, 2015 at 3:20 PM

Tessa! Are you kidding me???? I’ve read every single IAD book! IT IS MY FAVORITE PNR SERIES AMONG FAVORITES!!!!!!!!!!! They know where Furie is, it was in the last book and who is holding/watching her cause they can’t really hold her now can they… *wink wink*

Cristina November 24, 2015 at 3:21 PM

Agreed! Tessa, let us hope that our wish comes true!! I’ll be looking for your comments on book 6. Bring on November 30th! ;-)

Ela November 24, 2015 at 3:21 PM

Oh I think you meant Final Debt…. :)

Cristina November 24, 2015 at 3:40 PM

Yep, I meant Final Debt. :-)

Tessa November 24, 2015 at 3:49 PM

Ela, I was talking about both. It’s been so long since an IAD book, that I’m in withdrawals. It really is one of my favorite PNR series.

Wait, they revealed where she was? ACK! Now I have to read the end of the last book!

Theresa November 24, 2015 at 3:51 PM

Oh shoot I don’t remember Fury getting found????? I hate to have to reread. Hands down IAD is one of the best paranormal series. Of course we have J R Ward, Lara Adrian.
On the lighter side, Chloe Neil, Lori Handeland, c t Adams
And let’s not forget Kim Harrison and Kelley Armstrong and Keri Arthur.
I miss thise series!!!!!!
Just too many and so littke time.

Ela November 24, 2015 at 4:08 PM
Amy November 24, 2015 at 4:39 PM

Ladies!! I’ve missed you, my friends! *huuuuuuuuuge squeezy hugs*

I finally have a moment to try and catch my breath (I still need to catch up on comments from the last couple of posts!) and I wanted to pop in and say hi to you guys. So much craziness the last few days BUT things will slow down starting Thursday and I. Can’t. Wait.

Starting Friday, no running errands…no shopping unless it’s online…lots of Thanksgiving leftovers…lots of reading…and lots of chatting with you guys! :D

Now watch…all y’all will be busy and it will be quiet around here this weekend while I talk to myself. *snort*

Cristina November 24, 2015 at 5:07 PM

Amy I will definitely be around! I’m looking forward to turkey day which means a 2 day vacation from work, which leads to some much needed reading time and spending time with you guys (and family too lol)!! Plus I can sleep in!!! Which means late night reading!! Yes!!! :-)

Maryse November 24, 2015 at 5:14 PM

I am having Thanksgiving yumminess but it will be calm and peaceful. <3 And I will be here all day Friday, stalking amazing Amazon. LOL!

Maryse November 24, 2015 at 5:14 PM

Yay Cristina!! I wish we could LIVE CAM all of us together right here… have our own Thanksgiving celebration, while we have it “in real life”. :D

fabi November 24, 2015 at 5:16 PM

Even when I’m not home I take you guys with me on my phone. :-) so count me in

Maryse November 24, 2015 at 5:21 PM

<3 YAY!!!

Cristina November 24, 2015 at 5:36 PM

Maryse a LIVE CAM Thanksgiving would be AWESOME!! :-)

Maryse November 24, 2015 at 5:40 PM

I KNOW!!!! I wonder how it could be done…?

Cristina November 24, 2015 at 5:49 PM

Not sure.. Hmmmm… I don’t have much experience with live cam. Anyone else have any thoughts?

What’s everyone currently reading? I’m about to finish the fifth Indebted book and the next one doesn’t come out until the 30th, so I need something in between. Any suggestions? My TBR list is pretty long but I LOVE recommendations! :-)

Lisa M November 24, 2015 at 6:02 PM

Can’t freaking wait for Final Debt & Misconduct!!!!! Love these 2 authors!!! I’m counting the days too!!

bev November 24, 2015 at 7:30 PM

Yeah cause that wouldn’t be odd. Maryse all Grandma wave at the people I met on the internet. That’s Amy she likes to cry over people dying, that’s Fabi she likes a good fem dom, & here is Tessa who finds teenage bullies fascinating. Oh, and bev she sends me pictures of ponies.

Robyn November 24, 2015 at 8:16 PM

I woke up this morning and it was like Christmas on my Amazon library! Six pre-orders magically downloaded overnight! YIPEEEEE!!!
Ok, let me share my goodies…..(Dis) content Judgement of the Six book 5 by Melissa Haag
The Healing Power of Sugar The Ghost Bird series book 9 by C L Stone
Butterfly Deams by A Meredith Walters
Forbid Me: Good Ol Boys by M Robinson
Hold Me Close by Megan Hart (I’m about 40% in and loving this book)
Vegas Love by Jillian Dodd
I going to be a very busy and happy girlie for the unforseeable future!!!

Michelle November 24, 2015 at 8:17 PM

Some quick freebies I see: Rebel by Callie Hart, Avoiding Commitment by KA Linde, Angels & Whiskey by Kimberly Knight, Crave Me by Geneva Lee

I got the Captive Prince a while back when you rec’d it Bev but just need to get to it :) The Man I Love and NOLA’s Own Series both intrigue me big time too but I need to keep chipping away at my TBR. I have too many books I want to finish by the end of the year!

Tessa November 24, 2015 at 8:24 PM

I haven’t read the third book in the Royals series by Geneva Lee? Thank you for the freebies Michelle, but double thank you for making me notice that I need book three. I absolutely love that series. :)

Cristina November 24, 2015 at 8:48 PM

I haven’t read the Royal series by Geneva Lee. I’m going to have to check it out! Especially if the first book is free! Yay! :-)

fabi November 24, 2015 at 9:14 PM

*throws entire peanut jar at Bev*

go ahead, tell everyone what a weirdo I am. *pouts* see if I share anymore

;-) kidding…that was pretty funny

bev November 24, 2015 at 9:43 PM
bev November 24, 2015 at 9:45 PM

Not sure why my links are always so large. Lol.

Amy November 24, 2015 at 9:52 PM

Yay, you guys will be around here!!! Thanksgiving leftovers, reading, and chatting-giggling-snorting-drinking with you guys…sounds like a perfect weekend!! :D

*scoffs* I don’t JUST like to cry over people dying in books, Bev…I also like to get y’all drunk. :P *raises lemon drop martini*

Cristina November 24, 2015 at 10:25 PM

Bev it sounds like a party to me! ;-) Amy, I’ve cried a time or two during or after a good book. Fabi, I love a good fem dom! Tessa, bullies fascinate me too! Bev, I love ponies! Maryse, I’m sending a Grandma wave your way! As for me? I love a good love triangle! Or really any book that screws with my mind. *giggles* You guys are AWESOME! *raises an amaretto sour* :-)

Tessa November 24, 2015 at 10:36 PM

*looks at book she’s reading* I’ve got nothing to defend myself with.

*SQUEELS LOUDLY* Okay, so I love Bertrice Small and her historicals especially. I saw that there is a set of her books, Skye’s Legacy, are KU and one of them, I haven’t read. :D

fabi November 24, 2015 at 10:52 PM

Oh my God, Beatrice Small. Her historicals were the best. So steamy!

Maryse November 24, 2015 at 10:55 PM

Actually that was hilarious bev!!! But you guys ARE my family…

fabi November 24, 2015 at 10:55 PM

Lol Cristina. I’ll raise you and Amy a white Russian.

…and for the record, I don’t necessarily like fem Dom books. But if I have to read a d/s book, I’d rather it be fem Dom or m/m. I don’t care for women subs, it gets too close to abuse for my tastes.

Maryse November 24, 2015 at 10:56 PM

And Maryse loves the tattooed bad guys. That’s right, I said it. Not bad boys. BAD GUYS. IN BOOKS!!! ALWAYS AND ONLY IN BOOKS. :P

fabi November 24, 2015 at 10:57 PM

Oh sure Maryse, you can laugh. All you got was a Grandma wave. *snort*

I’m still giggling.

bev November 24, 2015 at 11:12 PM

And we all scoot over to make room at the table for Maryse’s new pen pal. From prison.
He can sit between the Michelles.

fabi November 24, 2015 at 11:14 PM

hahaha Bev! You’re killing me.

Cristina November 24, 2015 at 11:16 PM

ROFL!! I love you guys!! Yes Maryse!! Travis and Remy are my two FAVs!!! I think that’s why I love bully books too. I LOVE alpha bad boys! The harder it is to crack them, the better! I LOVE the push/pull, the angst, the sexual tension…. add that with a mouthy heroine and it is BOOK PERFECTION!! I love when there’s good banter! It’s what made me LOVE “The Deal” by Elle Kennedy. *sigh*

fabi November 24, 2015 at 11:18 PM

Cristina, my long lost twin (reader)! :-)

Cristina November 24, 2015 at 11:18 PM

Bev, I’m in a fit of giggles!! It does, however, sound like the beginning of a very good story! ;-)

Cristina November 24, 2015 at 11:21 PM

Fabi, I’ve always wanted a twin (reader)! ;-)

Cristina November 24, 2015 at 11:24 PM

I’m so glad I found you guys! For me, good reading friends are hard to find. You guys ROCK! :-)

Tessa November 25, 2015 at 12:06 AM

Welcome to the silliness, then. :D

I adore BB Reid’s other books, but this one seems forced. Dash was always the good one, that him being angry just isn’t meshing for me. Also, so not dark. He’s just pissy and kinky.

Cheryl November 25, 2015 at 1:00 AM

I feel like I haven’t been here in days…so many comments to catch up on. *waves to everyone*
Bev- you’re hilarious!

I hope I have computer access to comment with everyone over the Thanksgiving holiday. Will be at the in-laws and they live in the boonies.

I just finished Cruel & Beautiful and I LOVED it. Well-written,emotional, angsty, sometimes funny read.

Welcome Cristina!!

Niki November 25, 2015 at 3:44 AM

Yay for the great list Maryse!!! Not sure what I am reading next… the very last book on your list sounds intriguing.

I did laugh at quite a few book covers( I’m the worst and will not read the book if the cover is really corny or has a random cover on it..also if it’s under 220 pages nope…so weird right!!!)

Back to Thirty nights!!

Niki November 25, 2015 at 3:46 AM

Also I was squeeing very loudly when I saw your WIR facebook post!!! Hope you read it soon :)

Michelle November 25, 2015 at 6:52 AM

Ok check – Bev, I’ll bring the green bean casserole and some pepper spray then…errr bad BAD though so I might have to dust off the taser…

Ela November 25, 2015 at 9:22 AM

How about spinach and broccoli casserole???? It’s my specialty ;) :)

Ela November 25, 2015 at 9:28 AM

YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I because of all of you I have now a drinking problem and about 20,487 more books on my TBR, so thank you!

bev November 25, 2015 at 9:41 AM

Wow. Ok, Michelle.

……Hey, Fabi? Have you met Michelle? She carries tasers……..

fabi November 25, 2015 at 9:54 AM

Well, sure, yeah, ummm *backs away slowly*

Amy November 25, 2015 at 10:15 AM

LOL!!!! I woke up in such a foul mood, then I started reading your comments and cracking up. Y’all just made my morning, my drunken, book-hoarding, taser-packing, bad-guy-lovin’ friends!!! I seriously love you guys. :D

BUT! If my tatted hubby gets tased or pepper sprayed ’cause he’s mistaken for a bad guy parolee then it’s ON!! :P

Actually, he’s already been tased and pepper sprayed before. Voluntarily. Don’t ask. Just…don’t. *snort*

Amy November 25, 2015 at 10:16 AM

*discreetly moves Maryse from licking her bad guy’s tats before Grandma sees*

Maryse November 25, 2015 at 10:18 AM

I’m so glad you’re here too, Cristina!!!!

Maryse November 25, 2015 at 10:18 AM

Ela that sounds DELISH!!!! BRING IT! :D

Maryse November 25, 2015 at 10:19 AM

LOL AMY!!!!! :P

Amy November 25, 2015 at 11:01 AM

Robyn, Butterfly Dreams sounds SO good!! And it’s by AMW so I guess that’s a given. ;)

Cristina! You like to cry from books, and you like books that screw with your mind?? *squeals and hugs Cristina*

Amy November 25, 2015 at 11:05 AM

Ooh! I know what I’m bringing for y’all! My sweet potato casserole…mashed sweet potatoes mixed with beaten eggs, evaporated milk and vanilla extract then topped with a buttery pecan crumble…holy freaking yummy moly!!

Maryse November 25, 2015 at 11:13 AM

OMG AMY that sounds heavenly!!!!!!

Cristina November 25, 2015 at 11:19 AM

*secretly typing from my work desk* ;-) I’ll bring my famous mac-n-cheese! Only a few more hours until my vacation officially begins!! YES!! (And I’ve been secretly reading snippets of Indebted book 5 from my desk too. I just can’t help myself! Thank you Kindle Cloud reader!)

Amy, absolutely! *hugs* :-)

Maryse November 25, 2015 at 11:38 AM

Cristina, Mac and cheese is MT FAVORITE!!!!! YES PLEASE!!!

Amy November 25, 2015 at 11:43 AM

Oh Maryse, it IS heavenly! :D

Okay, so far we have Mac-n-cheese, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole and broccoli-spinach casserole…YUM!!

And I have some sugar cubes for the Others-lovin’ ladies to feed the ponies while they laugh at some of us while we ugly cry and get our minds screwed with. ;)

Fabi November 25, 2015 at 11:56 AM

How about some Canolis for dessert?

Tessa November 25, 2015 at 12:15 PM

I can provide the homemade pumpkin bread.

Ela November 25, 2015 at 12:42 PM

Anyone wanna provide the bird??? Or will these be a vegetarian feast??? Just sayin’

Ela November 25, 2015 at 12:44 PM

Fabi and fabi, are you 2 different people? The avatars are different so I’m just wondering…

Cristina November 25, 2015 at 12:58 PM

I’ll also throw in some tissues and wine! Oooh!! We need dessert! I’ve got a mocha fudge cake! :-p

Amy November 25, 2015 at 1:11 PM

YEAH!!!! We’re gonna be gluttons this weekend!!

I have a 26 pound bird in my fridge…think that will work? ;)

Ela November 25, 2015 at 1:19 PM

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm??? We are a pretty big group. Maybe I should throw in some ham???

Amy November 25, 2015 at 1:58 PM

Oooooh! Then we can have any leftover ham the next morning with some eggs!!

Hey Maryse, I just checked out your Sunday release post…how is The Man I Love going? Is it only his POV or is it dual?

Tessa November 25, 2015 at 2:27 PM

Finished Breaking Love. It really didn’t hold up to the rest of the series, honestly. It felt forced to try to turn Dash into Keiran. Also, bow tie finish. *sighs* Hate bow tie finishes. However, there is one more book in the series. It’s going to involve Keiran and Lake, so real insanity as this time, it’s Lake who went nuts, not Keiran. It should be interesting.

Cheryl November 25, 2015 at 3:00 PM

Ammmy- I just made a sweet potato casserole that sounds just like your’s. ;)

I’ll bring it along with some deviled eggs and pumpkin cheesecake.

I was wondering about The Man I Love too.

I’m still thinking today about Cruel & Beautiful- so beautiful, sad and heartbreaking!!

Cheryl November 25, 2015 at 3:02 PM

Packing for trip to in-laws. Trying to decide what books to download on my kindle. Their internet is sketchy so need to do before I leave. Hmmm…

Ela November 25, 2015 at 3:20 PM

DID SOMEONE SAY PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YUM
Ladies I just had soup but am drooling!

Yes Amy…Ham and eggs or we can have ham and Cheryl’s deviled eggs???

Maryse November 25, 2015 at 3:26 PM

Amy!!!! Only his POV… BUT!!!! Even though that is not normally my favorite, this one is fantastic, it’s intense, it’s ALL SORTS OF FEELS, it’s realistic, it’s OMG ANGSTY, it TOTALLY works being HIS POV first… AND!!!!! AND!!!

The second book is from HER POV and trust me, without telling you why… (and spoiling it) hers will be very different and… I have to know…

Cristina November 25, 2015 at 4:09 PM

SQUEEE!!! I just left work so I’m officially on vacation!!! *twirling*

And! I finished the fifth Indebted book, now comes the hard question… What next?!?!

All this talk of food has me hungry ladies! Everything sounds wonderful! :-)

Cheryl November 25, 2015 at 4:48 PM

Maryse, I think The Man I Love is going on my tbr next list. Not sure if next, since just finished Cruel & Beautiful and need something a little more lighthearted. Maybe Vegas Love.

fabi November 25, 2015 at 5:02 PM

A book called The Man I Love is in his POV? That doesn’t make sense to me.

Lisa November 25, 2015 at 5:08 PM

Noooooo!!! Final Debt is another book not available in Australia. Tryst last month!! What’s going on Amazon!!
I NEED to read Pepper Winters last book. I rarely do cliffys or series for that matter or dark (like pitch black dark) reads so I’m out of my comfort zone. But its so so good.

Maryse November 25, 2015 at 5:12 PM

fabi… she’s a ballerina and he is a stage coordinator/creator/stage-hand lighting guy (sound… guy?) LOL!!!… and that is the song she is dancing to. ;)

Maryse November 25, 2015 at 5:12 PM

I’m almost done. Intend on reviewing tonight. :D

Michelle November 25, 2015 at 5:15 PM

Haha Fabi I thought the same thing with that title! Oh and whispers to Fabi that I have another book I’m reading right now that you HAVE to read…

Ok no tasing other possibly bad boy looking guests…someone will have to confiscate it if I have a few drinks or I might be all ‘You didn’t like that book! What’s wrong with ya’ *tase*

Michelle November 25, 2015 at 5:17 PM

Oooh good explanation for that Maryse! Can’t wait to see the review but waiting on getting more books until I get my holiday gift cards.

Amy November 25, 2015 at 6:06 PM

Hmmm…I’m kinda torn on reading it. If you are getting all kinds of feels even with it being only his POV then it might be worth a shot for me.

Remember Emi Lost and Found? His POV just didn’t give me the feels I wanted, even though I still really liked it. In fact, had the prequel (which I read first) not been dual POV then I probably would have DNF’d book 1 which was his POV only. Then there was book 2 in her POV, and I swear I sobbed through most of it and my chest felt like it was caving in. And THEN book 3 was again male-only POV (or was it dual…I can’t remember) and I, again, didn’t feel a whole lot except for some residual sh!t from book 2. If you’ve read the series then you know why. ;)

Amy November 25, 2015 at 6:10 PM

Oh my, deviled eggs… *wipes drool from chin*

Tessa November 25, 2015 at 6:37 PM

I’ll respond to everything else later, but Lisa! I’m pretty sure Pepper Winters is from either Australia or New Zealand. There just isn’t a pre-order up yet.

Alright, now for more food shopping.

Tessa November 25, 2015 at 6:40 PM

Yeah confirmed. Australia. :)

bev November 25, 2015 at 7:21 PM

Ela, I have asked the same. Maybe Fabi uses two different emails to sign in. Either way I talk to her like she is the same person.

Cristina November 25, 2015 at 7:23 PM

So I finished Indebted book 5 and I am seriously praying that this last one knocks it out of the park! I really hope that the evil threesome TRULY gets what’s coming to them!! I need a big finish with a beautiful epilogue! I feel some tears coming on with this one.

bev November 25, 2015 at 7:26 PM

This is shaping up to be a holiday. Ela will drink too much. I’ll stew in unspoken resentment of books unread. Maryse will lick Amy’s husband. Michelle will wander off with her taser and be picked up by the police.
And where is Jean?

Grey November 25, 2015 at 7:33 PM

Hey everyone!

I am really excited that the Indebted series is wrapping up so that I can finally read it. Pepper Winters can do almost no wrong for me, Tess and Q…Ermagherd…. those two… *squee* they were one of the first really dark reads for me, and will be on my top 477276 list if I ever crack down and write one, no really Maryse, I will write one, I promise (after November) *hiding behind Amy-missed you girl!*

I’m reading that Here With You and Choose Me set right now and wow… angsty yowch! Have to get back to writing, but in our collaborative Thanksgiving celebration I will make a bunch of fudge pecan pies, root beer fudge and marshmallow popcorn treats… yes dessert is my specialty!

MichelleS November 25, 2015 at 7:58 PM

Crazy, crazy week. So busy. And I am STILL READING The last Hour of Gann. Oh. Em. Gee. It’s taking forever, but it is so worth it. I love it. Everything about it. Great story telling, and suspenseful. I think I might actually finish it tonight. I am at 90%. Biggest book ever.

Amy November 25, 2015 at 8:13 PM

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! OMG Bev!! That was freaking hilarious!!!

Grey, how the heck do you choose with that kind of story?? Sounds heartbreaking no matter what the outcome. :( Have you seen Brothers with Tobey Maguire and Jake Gylenhall? The books sounds similar to that movie, and that one was hard to watch.

Lisa November 25, 2015 at 8:17 PM

Oh Happy Thanksgiving everyone in the US. Besides eating A LOT of food what do you ‘do’ on Thanksgiving?

fabi November 25, 2015 at 8:26 PM

Thanks for clarification Maryse. I’m the opposite of Amy with male POV. I love getting into a man’s head, even if its through a female writer’s perspective.

I started Collide today. It was mentioned on your post a day or two ago and sounds fantastic.

Fabi and fabi are me. Logins from different devices but the same email (and person). If fact, I’ve only met one other person with my name in my entire life…and it was a man! lol Mine is Fabiana and his was Fabian. We both go by Fabi. Weird huh?

Michelle! You’re scaring me with you teaser (not your taser). I finally read (and loved) The Archive, then I started listening to Dark Blood and now I’m reading Collide. I know your not going to make me squirrel. Just…wait. Let me finish at least one of these. :-) . BTW I don’t know if you noticed the reads and reviews on GR for Illuminae. When I read it a week or two ago there were a 100-200 reads/reviews. Now there are thousands! And the rating is still over 4. It has exploded.

MichelleS I’m jealous you took the plunge and are almost done with The Hour of Gann. It’s been sitting high in my tbr forever. I’m so tempted to read that one next since I have a few days off.

fabi November 25, 2015 at 8:27 PM

Lisa, we eat like there’s no tomorrow and then take the rest of the week off from work because we can’t get up off the couch. :-)

Maryse November 25, 2015 at 8:55 PM

I wish reading burned calories…

bev November 25, 2015 at 9:06 PM

Lisa its different for everyone, except the eating. Its a big travel time in the US to go see family or friends.Give thanks to what you are thankful for. Cooking together. Big parade in NY that’s televised. Lots of football.

Lisa November 25, 2015 at 9:12 PM

That sounds like my kind of holiday. :)
Obviously Christmas is our big feast. It looks like we’ll be having super hot weather so it’s usually a huge lunch of seafood, glazed ham, salads and tropical fruit. Plus the day usually starts with cocktails not long after breakfast (!) so there are usually food comas in the afternoon …..before we hit the beach. For a few years when our kids were small we did the whole day at the beach (marquee for sit down lunch) which is a fabulous way to spend Christmas and mostly stress free. One day Id love to do a winter Christmas…it seems so crazy to me.

Fabi and Michelle…I’m eeking out my Illuminae love by reading veeeery slowly. Don’t want it to end, so I keep shelving it and reading something else. Trying to get my Bookclub to do it next.
I’m up to the bit where K goes over to Es ship….into Aidan madness!!

bev November 25, 2015 at 9:28 PM

Dinner for tomorrow can vary, too. But most traditional is a turkey. Dressing and/or stuffing. Gravy. Mashed potatoes and/or sweet potatoes. Cranberries. Vegetable and/or Vegetable casserole.
Pies with maybe whip cream or ice cream. Or any pie like dessert. And/or cake.
Then stuff to eat while the food is cooking. Like crackers and cheese and chips and dips and olive and ect.

bev November 25, 2015 at 9:30 PM

Lisa, the idea pf Christmas in summer blows my mind. So do you hear the carols with snow and frost nipping on the radio through Dec?

Cristina November 25, 2015 at 9:55 PM

Maryse, in a perfect world, reading would SO burn calories!

Lisa, Thanksgiving is definitely about food, family, and football! But mostly food! Then, in our family, we have drinks later in the evening and laugh until our bellies hurt. :-)

Anyone read Escaping Reality by Lisa Renee Jones yet? I think I’m going to check it out this evening. It’s been on my TBR list for a while now. My TBR list is too long and it just keeps getting longer. Too many goodies to choose from!

Tessa November 25, 2015 at 10:32 PM

Lisa, I swear to you, you said go to the Beach at Christmas and I wanted to throw something at you! :P Just kidding. I grew up next to the beach and I remember every year, the news would come on and there would be tourist on the beach praising the beautiful, warm Southern California weather. *grins* Each year, my family would yell “boo” to the TV in protest against a lack of real winter.

fabi November 26, 2015 at 12:10 AM

I spent almost half my life with summer Christmas. The other half with winter Christmas. The carols are different. The ones that match are the religious ones and they don’t specify cold or hot weather.

Lisa November 26, 2015 at 12:25 AM

Hahaha our ‘snow’ comes in a can and we spray it on the windows!
Lots of the decorations, carols and celebrations are snow or winter themed but its just how it is. It just seems normal to see Santa in a red felt hat and boardshorts *grins*.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends and I hope your football team wins!!

Niki November 26, 2015 at 4:44 AM

Did you guys see this news about Illuminae??? I really need to get it but maybe in hardcover!

Melinda November 26, 2015 at 5:35 AM

Happy thanks giving. Sounds really nice. In Australia our family Xmas starts around 23rd and finishes 26th. We eat, eat and eat. Yes canned snow. Santa comes delivers presents on Xmas day. Sweating! Father Xmas. We have bbq’s with carols. It’s a really nice time. Preparing Xmas dinner in shorts. Then we have holidays.

A really great book I loved and just couldn’t put down was some sort of happy ( skylar and Sebastian) Melanie Harlow. Really enjoyed. Really good writing. A inside look at OCD. I’ve been recommending to everyone at work.

Jean November 26, 2015 at 8:10 AM

Hey guys! Just spent a half hour reading all your comments! ! I missed you guys. ..been so damn busy! But today is great! Husband just went fishing, reading time for me, football at 1, dinner at 4 (at a restaurant so no work)!

Happy Thanksgiving! I’m so, so thankful for all of you!

Lisa M November 26, 2015 at 9:21 AM

I agree with you Maryse Wouldn’t that be so amazing if reading burned more calories!! I would have a six pack n then some!!! Happy Thanksgiving!! Missed our Canadian one this year due to a family wedding!! Craving some turkey!! Book hangover 2 days in a row!! Read Suit & Slut by Jettie Woodruff till 2 am both nights & just finished the book this morning. Wow what a great read a little dark & so many twists & turns & angst!! Love & hate!! Anyone else read these ones?

Cristina November 26, 2015 at 10:14 AM

Happy Thanksgiving! I might have to check out Suit and Slut. Sounds right up my alley. Thanks! :-)

fabi November 26, 2015 at 10:40 AM

*waves at Jean* Hiii sounds like the perfect day

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Maryse, no talking about calories on Thanksgiving.

Niki, I think Brad Pitt’s company is also producing Red Rising. I don’t know how well Illuminae will transfer to the screen. It’s so unique in book form.

bev November 26, 2015 at 11:42 AM

Happy Thanksgiving.

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell is on sale. So so good.

Ooooo thanks bev, I just 1-clicked it!

I’m reading 18 right now…almost done….whoever it was here that read it and said it was different than any other teacher/student romance, you weren’t kidding! Not what I expected at all!

Reading Nancy Gideon newest in her Moonlight Series. For all that still read some paranormal, I think this author has gotten the short stick. She has created a great world, great characters, great story line that keeps going, romance, steam, suspense. It appears she may be spinning this off in the future.
Anybody else agree!

bev November 26, 2015 at 5:37 PM

Jean, after you read it then you have to read Carry On.

Cheryl November 26, 2015 at 6:09 PM

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I think I’m still recovering from my tryptophan coma. Reading Vegas Love, fun lighthearted read. Then maybe tackle the intense The Man I Love.

Fabi- Collide? Is that the one by Gail McHugh? Loved that series.

fabi November 26, 2015 at 6:46 PM

Collide by Riley Hart. I just finished it. I was superglued to that book from page one. I couldn’t put it down until I finished. Wow! Hot, steamy, romantic, it had it all.

Cheryl November 26, 2015 at 7:40 PM

Awww, Fabi adding that one to my tbr list!!

Amy & Maryse & everyone that loves makeup-did you see this new Urban Decay set? UD Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette. Fun, bright colors!

Tessa November 26, 2015 at 7:59 PM

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I’ve yet to eat desert but I’m extra full. Went to Facebook and *squee* Pre-order for Final Debt by Pepper Winters is up!

Maryse November 26, 2015 at 9:09 PM

Happy Thanksgiving my awesome friends!!! :D I hope your day was awesome!

So what are your plans for the next 24 hours? ;)

Maryse November 26, 2015 at 9:10 PM

YES!! That author is awesome at M/M romance…

bev November 26, 2015 at 9:35 PM

Honestly? Nothing, lol. Read, watch movies, shop online. I have never and have no desire to be a part of black Friday. Well, not in person. Online yes, hopefully books.

Jean November 27, 2015 at 7:30 AM

Hey guys! Hope you all had a good day yesterday! Avoiding the stores today and hopefully reading! Started On Paper and I am really loving it! Fabi, did you love it?!?! The heroine reminds me of us… fanatic going to book convention and meeting a great author who is potentially a jerk! Just started, but so far so good!

Cristina November 27, 2015 at 8:16 AM

My goal for today is to be as lazy as possible. Lol. I cooked my heart out yesterday and then ate myself into a coma. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I’ve got a hot date with my Kindle today. :-)

fabi November 27, 2015 at 8:54 AM

Jean, yes, I loved On Paper!

Tessa November 27, 2015 at 12:41 PM

Leftovers and books. That’s my big plan. :D

Maryse November 27, 2015 at 1:35 PM

I haven’t seen it Cheryl but I’m gonna look it up!! :D Thank you!

It’s cold and rainy here, so I am staying home and doing some shopping online. I did finish Last Hour of Gann and it was seriously amazing. I will never forget it. Has “triggers”, Fabi – if you know what I mean. But, wow, what a story.

I went ahead and treated myself to Illuminae, but after Last Hour of Gann, I need something NOT Sci-Fi-ish…. so I went with a 99 cent teacher-student romance that is so, so wicked!

It’s called Eighteen (18), by JA Huss (of Rook and Ronin fame). It’s a doozy.

fabi November 27, 2015 at 4:45 PM

I need to read TLHoG. I almost started it yesterday but I ended up reading an erotic novella after Collide and then starting Sidekicks which I had on my EoY list.

Sidekicks is so good. It was highly recommended to me several months ago and it has been sitting in my tbr since then. I’m so glad I finally took the plunge.

November is the best reading month of the year for me this year.

Amy November 28, 2015 at 12:25 AM

I’m with all of you who are avoiding the stores…it was online shopping ONLY for me today. :D

Cheryl, I’ve been debating getting that palette! And the color payout of UD’s eyeshadows is great. The only color I wouldn’t be able to work with is the blue shade, but the others I could definitely mix-n-match. ;)

I’ve had Thanksgiving leftovers twice today and I’m *still* not tired of them yet!
