  • Mr Masters by T.L. Swan <— T.L. SWAN SUPER-BARGAIN!!!

Robyn: I one clicked Mr. Masters. It looked good. A ditzy nanny and a single man Judge. The blurb sounded funny.

Susan: I just finished reading T L Swan’s Mr. Masters and it’s on KU. I couldn’t put it down. It has been a while since I have read some of her books and I had forgotten what a great writer she is and her books are steamy. I have loved every book I have read of her’s. All of her books are free on KU right now if you are looking for some great reads. The Stanton Series and Dr. Stanton Series are great too!!

Amy January 1, 2019 at 3:33 PM

*settles in to read The Lies We Tell…but sees A Place Without You*

Are. You. Serious?!? One day into 2019 and I’m already book screwed! DAMMIT!!!

bev January 1, 2019 at 3:41 PM

Well….I’m hungry now.

bev January 1, 2019 at 4:04 PM

New old song for me. Pale Blue Eyes by the Velvet Underground.

It’s all pretty and sad and then…..a twist.

It reminded me of one of Amy and Maryse’s books. Lol.

Amy January 1, 2019 at 5:00 PM

BOOM. Good pick, bev.

Why don’t ya drive on up here and we’ll have some NYD food and listen to it again.

Because that didn’t sound creepy or anything.

*snort*

Sharon F. January 1, 2019 at 6:16 PM

A Place Without You jumped into my Kindle via Kindle Unlimited! Can’t believe it took me this long. Happy New Year everyone!

bev January 1, 2019 at 6:21 PM

What’s creepy between friends?

Tasha J January 1, 2019 at 6:29 PM

You guys with your “adore yous”. Those of you that have read Jack and Jill know what I mean. *sigh* I’m too close to finishing and may have to jump right into #3 before I can read anything else.

Maryse January 1, 2019 at 7:54 PM

*snort*

I snorted for real when I read that, Amy & bev. ;)

Cheryl January 1, 2019 at 7:55 PM

Happy New Year!!! Was at in-laws and there is no wi-fi there!!

Amy, my in-laws do pork and sauerkraut. The pork is ok but I am not a fan of sauerkraut. My parents do the black eyed peas.

Finishing Nothing Personal and then I can BR A Place Without You. Although I should finish my best of ’18 list. Dragging my feet because didn’t read as much and having hard time remembering the one’s I did read. I also can’t remember the book that I loved the h and the story- still searching my list. I need to review more and at least make notes. That’s the bad thing about KU after you return it, your notes are gone. Guess I could transfer to GR before returning books.

bev January 1, 2019 at 8:08 PM

Cheryl I only had like 5 or 6. *shrug*
I didnt keep great records either, lol.
If you tell us what you remember maybe someone will know the title.

Tessa January 1, 2019 at 9:33 PM

Cheryl, if you have a computer, you can go into the account drop-down menu, and there is a “My Kindle Unlimited” spot. It lists every book you’ve requested with KU.

Jan January 1, 2019 at 10:11 PM

Thanks everyone for sharing all your booky thoughts in 2018, and especially thanks Maryse for the great job you do. I love this blog. Have a great 2019 everyone. BIG GLITTER BOMB!!

Jenn January 2, 2019 at 6:08 AM

Good Morning-sadly back to reality and by that I mean work. My poor baby girls (my dogs)-I have been so spoiled being home with them all day. Anyway I joined the BR of “A Place Without You” and once company left at 9:00 I was finally able to start reading however it was short lived as I was exhausted and fell a sleep shortly there after. I read some more this morning and so far so good. :-)

Leslie M January 2, 2019 at 8:25 AM

Good morning! :)

As much as I love holidays I am also looking forward to getting back to a normal schedule. And…I have all my new book challenges I need to make lists for. Yay!

Maryse and anyone else with Alexa…any tips on fun stuff or anything to do with her? I got my son Alexa Show Me for Christmas (mostly just for the music) and I don’t know much about it. I’m also nervous about accidentally buying stuff since its connected to my Amazon.

Anyone make any New Year’s Resolutions? I always do and never stick to them. :( I really NEED to get my health in check so hopefully I can do some little positive changes. If I say “diet” or make a resolution, it’s too much pressure and I give up.

bev January 2, 2019 at 11:22 AM

So, kdramas always have beautiful coats and bags. Now they have a lot of plaid coats. I dont think I’d look good in a plaid coat, but they are so cute.

bev January 2, 2019 at 11:23 AM

Leslie, I want to work on being more healthy too.
Have some other goals I’m thinking of.

Cheryl January 2, 2019 at 3:21 PM

Finished Nothing Personal by Karina Halle. Quick, second-chance story. Now ready to BR A Place Without You. Also finished my favorites list for 2018.

Tessa thanks, I do know about the Your Kindle Unlimited on Amazon. However, it’s not too helpful, because it just lists you returned the book. Doesn’t say when and if read it before returning. I don’t always read the KU book,; some are DNF. Wish Amazon had the option when you return it to say if read it and date. Oh well that’s what GR is for!! Just have to remember to update my list! LOL!

Tessa January 2, 2019 at 3:26 PM

Lol. That’s why I linked. Because I forgot so many I read.

Michele G January 2, 2019 at 3:50 PM

Happy New Year to everyone! I’m back at work today but snuck in a little lunchtime reading. A Place Without You is soooo good! I’m at 91% and can’t wait to get home to finish it! Thanks Maryse for bringing our little group together and to Grey for keeping us on task (so to speak) in Goodreads with our challenges, etc. Here’s to a great year of books and book buddies!!

Maryse January 2, 2019 at 4:17 PM

bev I LOVE plaid!!!!

Maryse January 2, 2019 at 4:19 PM

Leslie M… I have Alexa read books to me. I mean, she’ll play actual audiobooks too, but she can read your Amazon books in your account too. Not ALL of them are available for her to read to us, but SO many are.

She’s not bad at it either. Also she reminds me daily to do certain things (like take out the trash Tuesday mornings), etc etc… which helps me A TON!!!!

bev January 2, 2019 at 4:22 PM

MY LIST OF 2019 BOOK WISHES:

1. MARYSE: To read The Last Hour of Gann or To Tell The Truth Shame the Devil or watch Fight My Way.

2. R: To listen to Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe if I can still gift it. (I dont have Audible anymore but assume I still own book???) Because it is first person, beautiful writing, and great narration by the narrator.

3. MICHELLES: To watch Healer because for some reason this:”This one was fast paced and exciting and Adam was just in “hummanahummana” alpha mode ” made me think of it.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

MichelleS January 2, 2019 at 5:07 PM

Healer? What is it? A show? A movie? It’ll remind me of Adam? Woo-ee-mama, tell me more!

MichelleS January 2, 2019 at 5:12 PM

Wasn’t it one of her best friends that recommended Gaan in the first place? I seem to remember seeing it for the first time on the blog when her buddy was reading it. So I read it. And loved it. She left us out in space with lizardman all by our lonesomes. Completely unforgettable!

bev January 2, 2019 at 5:23 PM

It just came to mind…maybe because I love them so much and you know how I love Mercy and Adam.
It is one of my favorite things this year. So swoony.

Keep an open mind. Kooloo loved it …..where is Kooloo?
https://www.viki.com/tv/23730c-healer?utm_campaign=container_share&utm_source=unified&utm_medium=share_button_android&utm_term=23730c&utm_content=social-post

Michele G January 2, 2019 at 6:34 PM

I can’t believe Maryse hasn’t read The Last Hour of Gann yet…it was really good. It’s definitely worthy…albeit a little lengthy…

Nay January 2, 2019 at 7:19 PM

bev, I talked to Kooloo last week. She’s doing ok–she just has tons going on in her work life and doesn’t have time to read right now. I keep bugging her to come back, and hopefully she will when things slow down for her.

bev January 2, 2019 at 7:38 PM

That’s nice that the two of you stay in touch outside of here.
I am glad she is doing ok.

MichelleS January 2, 2019 at 8:09 PM

Bev – just give me my hand basket already…. I’m going to hell for this… (I’m not attracted to Asian men)… there I said it. Don’t throw peanuts at me. Maybe I’ll give it a try. Is it close captioned? Or dubbed?

bev January 2, 2019 at 8:36 PM

It’s subtitled. That’s better than dubbed. It’s like reading a book….with cinematography. And a soundtrack.
If you connect to the heroine you’ll swoon for her.
Trust in bev.

Tessa January 2, 2019 at 11:07 PM

Last Hour of Gann… I can see Maryse not liking it. One scene almost had me DNFing it. It’s extremely violent, but that one scene really was bad.

Jenn January 3, 2019 at 7:57 AM

Good Morning :-)

Jenn January 3, 2019 at 8:57 AM

love that first line Leslie and so true!

Maryse January 3, 2019 at 9:41 AM

My first line is in a hardcover book I’m reading… but I don’t have it on me. I just started it and it is perfectly creepy and intriguing and I’m so excited about it.

“Everything You Want Me to Be”.

Maryse January 3, 2019 at 10:08 AM

Eeeeep!! Tessa yes… I struggle with certain acts of violence. I fume.

But I know overall I’d probably be hooked, considering how much you guys love it. And also her other one that’s SUPER-DARK. “Heat”. I hear that one is amazing but VERY rough in terms of darkness….

Maryse January 3, 2019 at 10:11 AM

I miss Kooloo. When she loves a book, she SQUEEEES like we do. And more. LOL!!! :P

Maryse January 3, 2019 at 10:12 AM

LOL bev. I love your three wishes. Okay which one to choooooose…

Maryse January 3, 2019 at 10:17 AM

*dances in Jan’s glitter*
:D

bev January 3, 2019 at 11:26 AM

My FLT is the same as last week.

So…..3 things instead.

1. Finally got a new pair of headphones and everything sounds so much better.

2. I love going for walks on a chilly brisk day.

3. I’m watching a often rec’d drama and while heavy themes I love the romance. I love show or book when they let you see the characters get to know each other first. We get to know them and understand why they’d fall for each other.

Plus they are adorable together:

Not the best first line, but it is the last of the trilogy. :) The actual first “chapter” is the last chapter of the last book, to help you remember where it left off. I wish more CH series did that. It helps if you forget. (It’s only been two weeks. I forget but not that quickly!)

I miss Kooloo too. I hope you’re loving Everything You Want Me to Be, Maryse. That one hit me hard. In fact, it was why I couldn’t get into the book I read right after. I have no FLT. After reading book 2 in Jack and Jill series, I needed a breather. Maybe I’ll start something soon.
