<— GOOD MORNING & HAPPY EARLY BIRD MONDAY!! TIJAN FANS!!! Look what just went live early.Β π It’s already in the top 100 on Amazon, and I have a feeling it’s heading for the top ten for sure. Eeeeeep!! Plus, I found us a bunch more…
But first… THREE THINGS:
1.) I watched “Overlord” yesterday on Vudu. and holy moly that one is intense and scary and SO good. Presents two versions of horror in one (the horror of wartime and that in itself was so shocking to me, and of course, the horror of experimenting on humans…)
2.) I also went to see “Fighting with My Family” at the movie theater (about a wrestling family trying to make it into the WWE, and that one was great. Funny, bittersweet, and had a really great “feel good message”. And of course, The Rock was in it and pure “The Rock” and had me laughing so hard. I loved it!
3.) I bought two old glass bottles (don’t think they’re antique) in a deep dark green, and one in a dark cobalt blue, to go with my dining set (on top of the hutch with a beautiful bottle glass my sister gave me in red and yellow). Those colors are all prominent in a really cool HUGE oil painting I received for Christmas (I love jewel tones) and it just looks so good together. P.S. the painting is so much prettier in person. Vibrant. Okay and now…

Good morning peeps!
My three things:
1. So very thankful and lucky that my family and friends were not immediately impacted by the two tornadoes yesterday. I was in Beauregard on Saturday. Very close to home for me.
2. Grateful for strong and long lasting friendships.
3. Coffee is a major food group…just saying.
Good morning!
1. I finished The Siren in the wee hours of the morning and yet somehow I’m up before 8!
2. I’m going back to One Day in December today which is awesome! I’ve been listening to the audio and I highly recommend it, but the writing is exactly my style so I think I’m going to switch to reading it for a little writing brain fuel.
3. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is on sale for $2.99 today! But if you’ve never read TJR before, this is not the one I’d start with! Get it and save it until you’ve exhausted her backlist!
Good morning! π
1, I am craving an omelette w/spinach, feta and tomato but too lazy to make it. I am NOT too lazy for more coffee. (DG, it’s most def a food group)
2, Snow day here! I will have to shovel (which stinks) but looking forward to mom/son day. I see some video games, scrabble and baking in my near future.
3, We saw Bumblebee this weekend, it was cute. We have a discount theater that shows the older movies which is awesome if you miss them. I still haven’t seen Aquaman or Ralph Breaks the Internet.
Good Morning
1-Well February was a bust for me as far as reading; was the worst sick I’ve ever been for the last two weeks of the month; the positive I lost the 10lbs I wanted to lose.Just not the way I wanted to lose it. I have never had the flu; it definitely kicked my a**. I am all better now and so excited to get back to reading. (I couldn’t even read when I was sick as I was either sleeping or suffering from migraine that would not allow me to read.)
2-Had a garbage disposal/kitchen faucet disaster on Saturday; had to replace everything. Took Hubs and I 4-1/2 hours and two trips to Lowes but all shiny and new. Love my new faucet. π
3-Went and saw “A Star Is Born” again this time with my beautiful mommy. It affected me even more the second time and I think because it will be 9 months tomorrow since my mom lost her life partner who although had been sober for the last 26 years of life was an alcoholic so being with my mom watching it already knowing the story was very emotional.
Oh nooooo on the garbage disposal but yayyyyy on the shiny, Jenn!!! π
I sobbed at the end of that movie. I don’t think I’ll be able to watch it again, as amazing as it was.
Leslie-can always count on you to make me hungry. I’ll take one too, anyone want to make them for us.
DG-So happy your safe; that is so scary.
Maryse-LOVE the oil painting; at some point I have to try to link the two pictures I got from iCANVAS. I love them.
I chose these for two reasons; They are a reflection of my dogs as they look like them and two they remind me of the autism puzzle pieces and my nephew Izayah is autistic.

Good morning!
Love that painting, Maryse! I looked at the rest of them, and would love several if they matched my decor.
1. I haven’t had much time to read the last couple of weeks, and now that I’m finally ready, I can’t decide. I spent 4 hours perusing GR shelves yesterday, looking for something really, really angsty, but nothing was jumping out at me.
2. I’m listening to the audiobook of The Cruel Prince, and it’s okay so far, but I think it’s getting ready to pick up.
3. Our Jack Russell has started pacing around the house at night. Constantly. All night, all we hear is click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click… It’s the one drawback I’ve found with the new wood floors. I’m wondering if she’s always done this, but we just didn’t hear her walking on the carpet? Or if it’s another thing that’s happening because she’s getting older?
Glad you’re feeling better, Jenn!
Nay!! I love the ones of the couple walking down the lit pathways with all the trees. I’m thinking of getting at least one more…
Palette knife is the method my book covers are done in! They look even prettier in person!
Maryse-I totally understand and definitely with you on that as I didn’t think I would either but I love my mommy and she wanted to go so I put my brave girl wings on π
Thank you Nay; I am too.
Maryse, Just letting you know that Katy Regnery’s new one, Arrange Me went live. I read an ARC of it last week. To me it felt like part rom-com/ part new adult. I was a really fun read – – just beware it’s a duet with a little cliffy at the end. Also, it’s available on KU!
Leslie, your snow day plans made me smile.
Maryse, I used to collect decorative bottles when I was younger. A place to get colored, interesting bottles is Michaels. They have some of the prettiest stuff.
1. I’m almost out of my SF peppermint syrup. I don’t know if I’ll get peppermint again or try a different flavor next.
2. My computer desk was a MESS. I just recently straightened it up and boy did it need. I found my pens!
3. I SERIOUSLY wish little dude liked going to amusement parks. He likes them for about 2-3 hours then wants to go home. *sighs* We got a pass a few years ago to Great America, and we’d go, he’d go to the water park section, and then after 3 hours, he’d want to leave. His next one will be Disneyland. Hopefully, the 3 hours thing won’t be there. He’ll instead see at least food and go for that. lol
Ooooh Tessa I will go. I love bottles and well, all sorts of “glass”… especially the mouth blown kind…
Wait that sounds really bad. *blink blink*
** I’m glad you’re ok DG! I just saw about those tornadoes…I cannot believe the devastation. It is humbling…
1. I had both of my Mizzou college kids home this weekend. Even if they came home to go to Mardi Gras festivities…I’ll take the time I got to spend with them. Yes, in case you all ever want to celebrate Mardi Gras and don’t want to go to New Orleans, apparently St. Louis has the #2 Mardi Gras celebration in the country! Yep, it’s insane! I stay clear of it!
2. I got next to NO reading done which does bum me out but I did listen to almost an entire audiobook yesterday while cooking for the crew. It was an oldie…Worth It. I was laughing out loud at some of their pranks.
3. We had some beautiful snow yesterday but our roads cleared up pretty quickly so nothing really felt like it was severely impacted…
– Maryse & Jenn – I love the paintings…
– Nay, keep going with The Cruel Prince…there’s a lot of that book that is buildup…a lot of the wow factor for me came towards the end and in the second book which was amazing!
Good morning everyone!
1- itβs beautiful and sunny here in AZ….finally. Itβs going to be 75, just perfect. Seriously, us Arizonans donβt know what to do with ourselves when itβs cold or rainy.
2- I watched that Michael Jackson special, Leaving Neverland, on HBO last night. part 2 is on tonight. I have to say I always knew he was a creepy pedofile. The two men who came forward were very explicit in what happened. My mouth was hanging open for some of it. Again, the parents are stupid. But in this case they stayed around and let this happen to their kid out of greed. They were given things and opportunities from MJ and that was more important to maintain than their kid. Just sad that all of the people surrounding MJ let this happen for so long, it was obvious.
3- I have been reading The Peer and The Puppet all weekend. Iβm enjoying it and about to finish and move on to Naked Love by Jewel E Ann!
Let us know what you think of Naked Love, Robyn. I LOVE that author (and that cover!!)
Marsye (and Robin), so funny that you would mention the couple walking painting (Maryse) and your book covers (Robin). I thought I had put in my post (but I guess I accidentally erased it) that Robin could use that painting for one of her book covers–something about fall or rain (I think it’s raining in the painting?) Β―\_(γ)_/Β― Ooh, I went back and looked and there are two of them. And in one, it’s definitely raining. I love the one with the blackbirds on the branch.
Michele–I’m definitely sticking with it! I think the audiobooks are seeming a little drawn out because I listen to them when I get up (from my almost-constant leg reclining position), and then when I sit back down, I edit or read or get on the laptop. Although I will have to say that when I listened to Dark Places, I kept it going after a sat back down because I didn’t want to stop. The big shocker in Cruel Prince just happened, though, so it’s getting really good!
Actually the cover for Riders is similar, but in reds and blues! I had to get my painting on Etsy though so I could speak directly to the artist and request permission to use it. I think I’ll have to go a different route for my next book thought because my new place will be way too small for anymore art.
1. Iβm reading Boy and His Ribbon right now (Work Wife will DEFINITELY be next), and itβs taking some suspension of reality at times but other than that it is pretty good so far.
2. I still need to watch A Star is Born! I was supposed to this weekend but hubby surprised me with a dinner reservation Saturday evening and yesterday I was called in to work. Boooo! But at least my check will be great. Maybe *I* need to buy some new paintings since yβall are making me a little jealous. π
3. Iβm craving black licorice. Badly.
Amy you and me are identical. I’m right there with you on your 3 things.
And I’ve never known anyone else to like black licorice to the point of craving it… like I do. AND NOW YOU DO TOO!!!!
More than just book twins! π
Did you guys hear Luke Perry passed away? Only 52 years old. So sad. π₯
1. Iβve just purchased my first recliner. We spent days figuring out which color and material to go with, and back and forth between chairs, so Iβm excited to see the finished product. I needed something with more lumbar support and Iβm looking forward to not having to use a special pillow in it.
2. Now I need a new area rug and itβs more overwhelming than choosing the chair. There is a better selection online, but you canβt feel those or see them with your stuff, so itβs even harder to choose.
3. The season 2 premeire of Good Girls was last night and I had been looking forward to it, but missed it bc I was already invested in Hart of Dixie. And let me tell you, I almost cried. My hormones must be acting up. π But I just donβt see how a certain someone can redeem himself!! *grrrrr*
Okay, I just checked out the blurb for Arrange Me and CLICK! How fun does that one sound??
Although I really am trying to overlook the half-naked guy on the cover. Seriously…when is that trend going to stop? π Iβve bypassed so many books because of those covers.
π I had the biggest crush on him as a teen. His character on 90210 was dark and jerk-ish, but still had that vulnerable side. Loved him in Riverdale and Buffy. Honest truth, that’s was willing to watch Buffy originally, was for Luke Perry.
Amy, it’ll stop when people really stop liking them. So many find it sexy and gravitate towards it, so I don’t see it ending any time soon.
RIP Luke Perry π After Arthur Fonzarelli, I think he was my first tv bad boy crush.
Hi guys π
Three things
1 – I read Tijans new release in one sitting. I let my girls do pretty much whatever they wanted today. Theyβre both under 4. The house is still stranding but a wreck. I have no regrets π IT WAS AWSOOOOOMMEEEE!!
2 – Iβve just realised at 27 Iβm probably (99% sure) allergic to tomatoes. I donβt know why Iβve just realised this but Iβm actually heart broken right now. Totally random
3 – March is what is known as βredecorating the houseβ month. And by month I mean four months of visiting every shop I can for paint and wallpaper. Iβm in the UK so if anyone knows the absolute heaven that is going to B&M stores and poundstretcher for all those random home accessories, youβll know why Iβm so excited. Maybe?
Oh noooo Carly!!! I LOVE tomatoes. Cooked, raw, sliced, with mozzarella and olive oil, spaghetti sauce. I would CRY!!!!
And thank you for letting us know Tijan’s latest was awesome!!! π
βMouth blown kindβ <βββ- *cackles hysterically*
Maryse…right? RIGHT??? Black licorice is SO crave-worthy. LOVE it.
Yep, twins in so many ways…even if we do look opposite. *giggle* Well, except for our size…fun size! π
Amy I like our fun-sizedness. π I have my issues with it, sure…. and well, if I COULD be taller would I? YES. But I’ve learned to appreciate the small.
Tessa! Let me retain SOME hope it will end soon!
I love coloured glass bottles. That sounds awesome, Maryse.
1. It’s officially autumn here now, but we’re still just at the end of a mega heat wave π Has been the hottest summer ever here apparently. Eek! FINALLY tomorrow it’s supposed be cooler. *sighs over Leslie’s snow day* Those don’t even exist here – it NEVER snows down on the plains where I live.
2. I’m doing some baking today. A mushroom, vegetable, rice and quinoa slice, and a butternut, spinach and ricotta pie. I’ve made them both before and both are yum.
3. I’m in a mini reading slump. I’ve read some great books so far this year, but this week nothing much is grabbing me. I do like Katy Regnery, so I’ll try Arrange Me I guess. And it’s on KU π
I mean, the bottles sound awesome, not the mouth blowing. Oh, you know what I mean.
OMG, Jan! That sounds so yum!
I heard Amazon is going to be doing a Bogo sale on select authors and titles. Anybody got anymore info?
Ohhh Theresa I have no info on it, but I’ll look it up. If you hear anything let me know please. I’ll make a list for it. π
Carly, I feel you. I used to tell everyone my favorite drink was orange or better, tangerine juice. Then, I found out I was allergic to it. It sucks when it’s something you truly love.
Theresa, if they do, hopefully, they’ll send an email out about it. π
1. I love black licorice too!! Especially when itβs fresh & so soft. Yum!! I may need a trip to Bulk Barn to get some tomorrow.
2. Iβm finally reading Becoming His Monster by Amelia Hutchins!! So good. Why did I wait so long?? Sometimes the books you canβt wait to read you put them off because you donβt want them to be over!!
3. Damaged Queen by Sam Crescent is out now on Amazon!!! So excited. Will be reading that tomorrow for sure!!! Damn why do we need to sleep. I would be reading all night.
Amy & Tessa, I hear you on the naked man covers…I hated that on the cover too of Arrange Me as well. I won my ARC in a lottery that Katy did and she sweetly asked if we’d consider putting the image as our icon while we were reading…it almost killed me but I did it. For those who are friends with me on GR, you probably thought I’d lost it. I love her books but do NOT like those types of covers. It’s a cute book though. So, overlook the bare flesh and read it ladies π
I’m so sad about Luke Perry…just unreal.
Theresa, you have me intrigued with the BOGO sale…because I need more books… :-0
β…not the mouth blowing.β
βOMG, Jan! That sounds so yum!β
*dies laughing at Jan and Nay*
I feel so sad about Luke Perry too!! Way too young!! Love 90210!!
Iβm reading, and loving The Work Wife so far!
I love licorice.
OMG, Michele! I was wondering! I knew you were reading the book, but I was thinking, what the heck is so special about **this** book?! LOL
Amy–well, earlier I was going to say ‘that’s what she said’ but I didn’t think it fit what was said quite right…
Red & black licorice are da bomb! π
I love sour licorice. So sour that I can’t unpucker my pucker!
Oh yeah, red licorice. Now that is truly yum. Nay, I don’t know how you eat that sour stuff. Ew.
