<— BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!! HOCKEY STAR ALERT! Natasha Madison latest “This Is Crazy” JUST WENT LIVE EARLY! She swore she’d never date a Hockey star… but she needed his help to get back at her EX.
“…She wanted me to crash her ex’s wedding.
The worst that could happen? A PR nightmare. The best? A fun night with a beautiful woman.
It started out as a game—something I’m good at. Her crazy idea twisted into something I wasn’t looking for, something neither of us wanted…”
Good morning and happy Monday everyone! A few earlybirds for us, and I’ll be adding more if we find ’em. 🙂
THREE THINGS:
1.) My corn stalk! What??? Yep! I dunno if a bird pooped out a corn kernel from a bird feeder or something, but right under a tree in my front yard, is a corn stalk. WITH. A. CORN on it!!! Baaahahahaha!!!! At first I thought it was a flower from my miscellaneous bulbs I planted last year, but as it kept growing and growing tall, with no flowers (looking like an obnoxious weed), I was about to pull it, when I saw the baby corn cob growing… what a hilarious surprise. —->
2.) My two favorite MAC lipliners are down to a nub, and I keep forgetting to reorder them. “Whirl” (kind of a plum color) and “Dervish” (super-neutral pink – nudish-pink). I LOVE THEM!! And while i’m at it, I may as well get my favorite Bare Minerals Eye Primer 5 in 1 (it acts like a neutral eyeshadow base too!!). I’m out. So… makeup shopping time!! YAY ME!!!
3.) I went to a seafood restaurant on Saturday, and went crazy for their Louisiana/Cajun? style spicy mustard (it has horseradish in it!). I used to hate the flavor of anything horseradish-y and never went for Dijon or spicy mustard, but I’m HOOKED on it now. It was super-salty and tangy and had that burny-edge to it. They even sold me an 8oz container of it for cheap!! YAY ME AGAIN!!! 😀 Oh!!! I just found out they have some versions of it on Amazon. Even French’s makes it!! GASP! I wonder if it’s as good. I will try them too. 😀

I love your little bird poop corn.
1. No reading but had fun jumping between drama episodes.
2. No coffee at home so deciding what type of caffeine to buy: iced coffee, flavored energy drink, or coke?
3. People are not liking this song, very anticipated release by Lee Hi, but I like the chill summer vibe. And she looks beautiful and so tiny. I just know her from Here come the Regrets and not to that standard, but fun. I need to delve into her discography because at 22 she has a lot of fans and artist wanting to collaborate.

I vote iced coffee!!!! 😀
And I knew you’d get a kick out of my corn. 😉
She is adorable. I’m not sure I like the song either. It’s very background forgettable. (Sorry!) Just no power or emotion. *shrugs* Maybe it’s the dancing, but her voice was pretty, but not exciting to me. 🙁
That said, COFFEE!
Definitely breezy summer type, not like this written by SHINee’s Jonghyun.

GASP!! Where did everyone go? Was there an Invasion of the Body Snatchers that I don’t know about?
*shudders* Oh that one was sooooooo creepy!
I wanna hear more three things!! 😀
I’m here! I’ve been spending all my minutes searching for a new laptop before this one dies, which could be at any minute!!
1. I need a new laptop! Someone help me!
2. I’m going to Costa Rica in August and I cannot wait!!
3. I finally tried (and didn’t hate) sashimi over the weekend! I’ve had it before but it was at a place I probably should’ve avoided. It’s actually good if it’s super cold and…uh…fresh. Who knew?!
I got the MacBook Air a few weeks ago and love it.
LOL!! I LOVE sushi and sashimi. Now it’s mostly just sashimi for me ’cause Keto, but I’m good with it. 😉 Tuna is my favorite.
And OH NOOOOO on the laptop!! Both of mine are getting pretty old, so I’m thinking I’ll have to do the same soon enough. I’ll be sticking with MacBooks though.
I know nothing about laptops or sashimi(?) but Costa Rica sounds fabulous! 😜
Yeah, I skipped over the Costa Rica comment – that sounds amazing! Yay for you!!
I REALLY want a MacBook Air because there is software for writers that you can only use on a Mac, but the new keyboard is supposed to be horrible and since I spend the majority of my time typing, I can’t assume I’ll get used to it. They’re fixing the keyboard bugs from what I hear, but the design alone is a problem. The reviews say it’s like typing on a flat surface.
I’ve been looking at the previous Mac Air with the not so great display because it has a great keyboard and ports I’ll actually use, but I’m struggling to spend that much on old technology and a semi-blurry display!
Right now I’d say it’s between the old MacBook Air and a Lenovo Yoga.
I definitely prefer rolls to sashimi for now, but maybe with more practice LOL!
You couldn’t pay me to use apple. Sorry, not sorry.
That said, I adore mine, but it’s a gamer’s laptop. If I were you, I’d look into something a little more than basic. Mine is actually great for writing, and you can run a LOT of different programs at the same time because the ram is set up for gaming and the intensity that comes with that. Though, gaming and other programs… not for long. lol I currently have 25 tabs open (Yes, I’m going to close most of them. :P) and two Word documents. My computer isn’t even worried.
I have a minimum of 10 tabs open all the time, 3 spreadsheets, 2 word docs, and email. I use online apps for the most part, except for the e-book formatting software I want to get if I end up with a Mac. When I got this Dell, it was a beast. It still has a better processor than what I’m looking at! I think I went too big because none of that matters if the computer craps out!
Oh I LOVE the sound of power…
My MacBook Air (which I got in 2014) has very limited RAM and I hate that. I want speed, and I want to have as much as I want, open, so I can toggle from window to window, creating.
Grrrr. That is my biggest drawback on the air. I love the size, mine IS retina display, and my keyboard feels good, but it is getting slower and slower with age and is NOT upgradeable. I’d be so happy to add more ram, and upgraded the CPU but nope.
That’s what I’m looking for! I thought you couldn’t get the retina display unless you got the latest one (with the weird keyboard).
The lack of speed could be an issue because no way can I afford over 8gb of ram in it! I think my Mac dreams may have to wait for the next one!
I do know that, as opposed to when the “Dude, you’re getting a Dell” commercials were big, that Dell was really downgraded for a while. Dude has a Dell, and OMG, it’s so slow! Fine for him cause he just watches videos with it, but ugh. I’d go nuts. Mac is big because of graphics. That is LITERALLY what they are made for. 😀
That said, look for mid-range laptops. Mine is an MSI, but that’s due to the gaming aspect. To get an idea, I bought a laptop fan for it, and it has a fan booster to speed it up. I don’t think you’ll need one that powerful. 😛 But there are Window compatible laptops with retinae display now. 😀
I’m here!!!
Totally giggled over the accidental corn. We had an accidental pumpkin patch once. Hubs tossed rotting pumpkins in yard from Halloween and next summer was a pumpkin patch.
1, My baby graduated this weekend AND is taking his first trip/plane ride without us. He is going to Louisiana with my inlaws…leaving tomorrow. He gets to meet my 8 month old great-niece that I havent even met yet!!
2, 😰
3, 😭😭😭
Sending lots and lots of hugs Leslie!
Awww I’m feeling your heartache, my friend. He must be so excited though…
And LOL on the pumpkin patch. Did any of ’em grow to a good size? I wish I had one…
*hrmm… contemplates throwing random seeds in the backyard…*
The pumpkins were so weird. They “creep” and wrap their tendrils around everything. The blossoms are beautiful though. But they overtook my patio and wrapped around the chairs, table, etc. There were tons of little balls of fruit that started but they ended up dying before turning into full pumpkins. We think its because they crept onto concrete patio?!?
Random knowledge, you have to prune the balls until you have just a few or else the vine will only do those small ones that die. Some die earlier or are smaller than the rest, and those get picked off first. That’s why I never did because I always thought of how sad it was that I was choosing one pumpkin over the others. 😛
LOL!! Poor sweet pumpkins.
Thanks for the info Tessa! Good to know. As we say here….you are wicked smahht! 😜
Awww!! I’m so sorry you’re sad Leslie!! 🙁
*hugs*
Wow! Where is everyone? Is it vacation season already?? I also love your little singular ear of corn Maryse!! It’s so cute.
1. I’ve binged the Secondborn series by Amy A. Bartol this weekend and started Rebel Born today (I have an ARC). I love binging book series as much as tv series. I don’t have time to forget anything. 🙂
2. We have rain in our forecast every day again this week starting tomorrow. Seriously folks, I may have to build an ark. I’m sick of rain!
3. Both of my granny dog cocker spaniels got groomed over the weekend (they are both 14). One of them was shivering yesterday and I had to put her sweater on. Yes, I know it’s summer and 80 degrees outside, but the princess was chilly. Meanwhile, the other one was panting. I give up.
Poor sweet puppies!! Shaved dogs always seem to freak out a bit over the first two days. It must feel SO different for them.
Like when you go from long nails, to short, and the tips of your fingers feel funny.
Where are you located Michele? My mom in Canada has said the same thing. It’s just NON STOP rain for weeks now. But her grass is SO green and the flowers are going to go crazy from it (in a good way).
Maryse, I’m in St. Louis. I feel it’s been raining constantly…of course it hasn’t. I’m just a drama queen. That said, there’s so much flooding all around our area. Thankfully we aren’t directly impacted but I feel so sorry for those that are. My office has been flooded out twice in the past and it’s a nightmare. I cannot imagine having my home flood. (Sorry Tasha, I know you just lived this…)
Ohmygosh yes! Picked our daughter up from St Louis airport yesterday and seeing all the flooding! Heartbreaking!! But on a better note, can I just add Let’s Go Blues!!
I have a cocker spaniel named Gracie. Have always had Cockers. Love them so much.
1. Angel’s Flight by Ella Summers, with what is becoming one of my favorite couples, released back on 5/31. Who knew? So I’m reading it and loving every second.
2. Tomorrow is dude’s graduation for middle school. He’s nervous about going into high school. 🙂 He hates change.
3. Summer school is going to be at a school next to a library approx two miles away. So, I’ll be walking there, going to the library, and we’ll be walking home. Good exercise, right? 😛
That sounds perfect, Tessa!!! Ideal summer. 🙂
😀 Doesn’t it? I’ll probably leave early to spend an hour or so in the library before picking him up, because library.
1. I love reading all your updates on your lives and families. They’re growing so fast!! Even the crops. 😂
2. I READ this week! I read Secondborn also, and now I’m dying to jump right into book 2. And I read Trouble at Brayshaw and Dangerous Magic by Evie Hart. No standalones.
3. These next couple months will be insanely busy. My calendar makes me wanna cry. It has though for the last couple years. Summer swim team started today for 2 of my kids. My middle is now old enough to start getting involved in activities and swimming is one that’s actually an important life skill, so that takes up every single day through end of July. Softball still in swing for a few weeks yet. Bible school starts today all week. And then we’ll have a vacation at the end of swim and jump right back into school and fall soccer, then fall/winter swim and I guess basketball this year. Yay. My daughter is ever the social butterfly. Throw in some grad parties and summer fun here and camping and we’ll never be still. 😜
Also, I’m SOO excited for Big Little Lies 2!!!! It’s coming so soon. And many more new release movies and shows I wanna see, but I can’t think of them all offhand, except for the kid ones. Go figure. (Lion King, Toy Story, Pets 2)
Tasha, Phew! I’m exhausted just thinking of your schedule! My babies are all basically grown now…not that they act it of course (22, 21 and 19 – I’m so old). I remember the summers where we ran from soccer games to baseball games to dance recitals and so on. I never batted an eye because it was just what we did and I loved every minute of it!! Enjoy the chaos!
I try! Some days are better than others. I was never a super involved sporty kid, so it’s easily exhausting. Neither was my brother. He did baseball, I did soccer for a few years and that’s pretty well it. We’ve got a sport year round with my girl. She wants to do it all. And I let her have 1 a season usually, but they’ll run together for a bit. Now I’m adding the boy in a couple things. He’s not like her, he’d be happy with doing nothing, but he needs to get out there a little or he’ll always be too shy to make friends and detach from Mom. (That was me growing up too) So, I love that she’s so active and social on 1 hand, on the other I just want to sit back and have free time with them instead of running around all the time.
I was never sporty. Like… EVER.
I think other than math, gym was my worst subject. Science and english my favorites.
That said… I always found the sporty girls excelled at everything. I think it’s GREAT if your kids are into it. It takes a lot of effort, team spirit, co-ordination, and athletic ability to enjoy sports. That’s just winning all around if you’re already there!!
My daughter did all the sports and we were busy all the time. But great kid and no problems. Her pediatrician told me that girls who were involved in sports were less likely to get pregnant or do drugs because they were more aware of their bodies and took better care of themselves. I just remember looking at her softball team and soccer team and thinking how healthy and strong and fit they all were. And they all sat down and ATE. So sports was a good experience for our family.
1) I’m totally singing right now. Birdie crapped corn and I don’t care…birdie crapped corn and I don’t careeee🎤🎶🐦🌽
2) Jealous of R’s new computer to come and Costa Rica…although I know nothing about either…
3) Super busy week for me. My daughter’s dance recital is this upcoming weekend. So yeah…busy busy!
Oh my Grey! Leave it to you to have lyrics!! I love it! 🙂 Good luck with your week & the recital this weekend!
Grey!!
What does she dance??
Also… LOL on the song. SOOOO many are laughing at my corn right now. *snort* I LOVE IT!!!
I’m telling you… my neighbors are probably walking their dogs and getting their mail (which just happens to be in front of my house) wondering… what the HECK?? IS THAT… corn..??? Is she growing corn on her front lawn??
*shaking head*
*snort*
I DIDN’T DO IT ON PURPOSE!!!!! 😛
I just watched the trailer for Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. It comes out in August. The entire time I watched it, I chanted I my head, “no thank you, no thank you, no!” But, at the same time, I’m intrigued. I kind of, ACTUALLY wanna watch a scary movie. Believe it or not, I once was obsessed with them. Until 2009. Maybe I wanna taste of that thrill again? *waggles eyebrows*
YES THANK YOU, YES THANK YOU!!!! I WANNA!!!!
I remember that book! I remember the stories pretty well, as it’d come out during slumber parties and someone would read it. And of course, I’d be freaking out, and if it was one I hadn’t heard, nightmare galore. It was to the point that one parent forbade me to be in the same room with those stories because my screams kept waking her up. lol
I love that it’s based off a book! Those are the best. Childhood terror brought to life. Lol!
No one ever shows up in the summer, that’s why we could do a rabbit watch and no one will notice you went Kdrama Maryse.
I’m in bev!!!
Whenever it’s ready, let’s do it. We’ll have fun!!!!
Just Wow! The Assistant by Marni Mann was epic. Can’t say a word. Must go in blind. Other than there is no cheating if you think that is where it is headed, it is not. I literally did not get it until the end, but it kept me glued. Must read.
SQUEEE!! It kind of sounds and looks like a psych-thriller.
I just finished Savaged by Mia Sheridan and it was awesome!! It had a Transcendence (Shay Savage) feel to it, but more Mountain Man than Caveman. I don’t want to give anything away but trying to figure out who, what, where, when and why of him being alone in the wilderness. It definitely had a twist I did not see coming!
Mona I’m 70ish percent in!! Loving it really hard and emotions for Jak have been all over the place!!
Thank you Mona!!
I was wondering about that one since I love that author (and that trope!!) 😉
SQUEEE!!! So it’s on my TBR list for sure.
