Happy Monday!
I swear the more I vow NOT to add to TBR the better the new shinies start sounding.
*sigh*
Is it just me or is seeing “2018” in print freaking everyone else out?
Where did the time go? I think it all just hit me right now. 🙁
I keep putting 2017 still… LOL!!!
Good morning my friend!!!!
So what is everyone reading? I had two books going at once (Court of Thorns & Roses, Yes Mr Van Der Wells) but paused them to read Waiting for the Sun. Now I am having hard time getting back to other books. 🙁
Good morning! Happy Monday!
Leslie–When I started having trouble sticking with COTAR (I think that when I know ahead of time that people love the second book more than the first, it puts some kind of mental block in my head and immediately makes the first one more difficult for me to read), I listened to the rest on audio book and it made a HUGE difference. I was able to speed it up and then finished it in no time. I’m not a member of Audible right now, so I don’t think I can give a copy, but Kooloo said that she could. Just an idea!
I’m going to read Waiting for the Sun again, and then on Wednesday, I’m reading Uncharted. I’m really looking forward to that book!
Maryse–in case you didn’t see it on the Friday thread, I sent you my favorites of 2017 list last night.
This week, I’m going to go through all the 2017 fave lists and make sure I have every book I need to read either on my tbr shelf and/or my ‘next’ shelf. I’ve seen so many that I haven’t read yet!
YAY!!! I have it Nay!! I will be preparing it to post shortly. *hug* It is AWESOME my friend!
Back to work. Ugh. 4 letter word that should be banned.
I’m finishing acotar and then deciding which way I’m going…if I am going to read my face which was Acomaf or read something off my tbr. *tosses glitter* *shakes magic 8 ball*
Okay, I think I finished my “why didn’t I read this book sooner” book of the year. Bad Romeo. OMG! It was so good, and now I have to get Broken Juliet. That was the best 99 cents spent. lol (Thank goodness for that 5 dollar coupon from Google.)
Now, still in a CR mood, Over Us, Over You. Just started, but I adore the h already. Started a coffee shop in Seattle. Take a guess how well that went?
Today is my daughter’s 1st surgery, tubes and adenoids…I’m a little stressed!! In fact, she should be going in about now. I couldn’t go bc I’ve gotta feed this baby and that hospital doesn’t have a cafeteria for the public. And someone had to watch the toddler. They’ll probably be there a few more hours yet.
Anyway….these books are also coming out tomorrow and I’m so super excited for them. I spent all my gift card money already so I may go buy myself another just so it doesn’t look like I’m spending too much on books, lol! I put a ton on hold at the library, but it takes like 9 months for those to come in. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B071FDZYVK/ref=tmm_kin_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1515429036&sr=8-1

I’ve been reading books based on all the 2017 favorites lists. The latest is Waking Olivia. It is a “forbidden” (not very forbidden ) SLOW BURN CR. The MC fight the attraction. Catnip! I liked it!!! I’m on to the next book. Drowning Erin.
YAY Thank you for the feedback on it, Lisa!!! 😀
I’ve now got three more 2017 lists on the way, and I think we’ll be done (including mine).
Sending you good vibes Tasha! <3
Thanks R! She’s in recovery now, another hour or so and she should be coming home. I swear, my husband is the worst at relaying anything. It’s like pulling teeth to get all the answers I want. He says, finally, he’s with her and she’s doing good. Then sends me a pic where she looks completely out of it and in pain. *rolls eyes* That doesn’t look good!
Ugh men! Mine is the same way!
Tasha–I tried to write you when I was sitting in the doctor’s office (yes, ANOTHER doctor’s appointment for me too!), but she came in and I had to put my phone away.
I was going to tell you not to worry and everything would be fine. My son had his first tubes surgery at 18 months. They rolled him away in a little red wagon while I cried my eyes out. And then he had two more surgeries over the years and did great with them all! The only advice I can give is don’t give her anything colored to eat until you’re she’s not nauseous.
We got my son home after his surgery when he was about 4, and he felt pretty good, so he was on a pallet in the living room watching movies. He told us he was starving and begged me for some SpaghettiOs. So being the gullible mom, I asked him if his tummy felt ok and he said yes. More begging, so I gave in. Then about 30 minutes later, he got sick all over my new berber carpet. I never got the stain out, even with bleach!
**until you’re SURE she’s not nauseous.
Maryse–thanks!!
Tasha, hope your daughter is home now and enjoying a popsicle- but not a red one! LOL!
I’m reading Over Us, Over You and I’m having a hard time staying with it. I like the premise, but I’m just not enjoying the writing. It’s choppy and well, not great.
Hope your daughter is doing well. *hugs* Or a blue popsicle. Those are a pain to clean as well.
OMG, Meddle of Wizard comes out tomorrow. Thank you for reminding me Tasha! You all HAVE to read it. It’s so good, though the first few chapters is slow for world-building, it was the fastest world building I’ve read that was actually complete enough to tell a story. It was really quick after that, and not too many characters to lose track of what’s going on. Gah, I want the next book!
Does Meddle of Wizards have any romantic undertones? I couldn’t tell from the blurb.
Yes, though it’s really just the beginning of the romance, so it’s gonna be a slower burn.
Thank you all! She came home tired as can be and went to her room and crashed. She just got up not too long ago and had some applesauce and leftover pesto chicken pasta (from Amy’s recipe ;)). Chatty as ever, just a scratchy throat for now. I’m hoping it stays this way.
-Meddle of Wizards is now my first official preorder or 2018! P
I’m so glad it went well Tasha. It must have been so nerve-racking.
Despite the warning, I had to give her a red Gatorade to sip through the night. I told her if she must puke, please at least make it in her trash can. That’s the only flavor we had and she won’t drink water as well…I hope she holds it all down!
Tasha, I mainly mentioned not red popsicles or drinks because if your daughter vomits after drinking red liquids, the vomit will be red. You might want to avoid red foods and fluids so you can be sure that her vomit doesn’t contain blood.
So kept seeing buzz about Oprah’s speech at the Golden Globes that I did not watch. But I love a good speech so had to go find and watch it.
Damn she gives a good speech. It is great, made me tear up a little . Life time achievement award but used it to focus on the women making change right now. Love when the women stand up.

I felt same way Bev. Oprah was pretty awesome.
