Gasp! Am I first?? *throws glitter bombs*

Jan January 22, 2018 at 1:17 AM

OK. Lots of goodies up there, Maryse. :D *starts clickety-clicking kindle samples*

Leslie M January 22, 2018 at 6:25 AM

Pass the coffee please. Actually, maybe some of that fancy Nespresso stuff.

*yawns and rubs sleep from eyes*

Anyway, good morning! So many of those sound fabulous. I think I need to “sample click” like Jan.

I finished One True Loves last night (4.5 stars) and now need to find next ebook and audiobook. Hmmmmm…

Grey January 22, 2018 at 6:26 AM

Well, well, well… Look at the Aussie component sneaking in and nabbing first. Complete with glitter. Hmmph, I’ll allow it. *giggle* Just wanted to throw more hugs toward Amy and say. Yes…that… All of that. And we’ve got it this week!!

Thanks, Maryse for this mini Monday list! But I have to stay strong…unless they are KU, LOL! The book buy ban is still in effect!

Jean January 22, 2018 at 8:34 AM

Football hangover! My Philadelphia Eagles are going to the Super Bowl! Need more sleep…

Nay January 22, 2018 at 8:40 AM

Good morning!

Still reading Midnight Blue. I’m liking it, but it’s not what I expected. The way the hero is written is a bit over the top for me, almost as if he’s a caricature, but I’m hoping it’ll all come together in the end,

Leslie–I saw that you asked if I’ve used my immersion blender, and the answer is: not yet. When the temps go back down, I think I’ll make soup too. There are about 4 or 5 times in a year that I’m cooking something and think, ‘I wish I had an immersion blender for this.’, but for the life of me, right now, I can’t remember what I was making during any of those times! lol

Maryse January 22, 2018 at 8:48 AM

Good morning everyone!!!!! :D

Leslie M January 22, 2018 at 9:11 AM

I bought all the stuff to make a homemade tomato soup (fresh tomatoes and everything) but not sure if I will actually do it. Will report back if I use the immersion blender and live to tell about it. ;)

Good Morning Maryse, our lovely hostess with the mostest.

Leslie M January 22, 2018 at 9:14 AM

Oh, and I found audiobook for today. Capture by Rachel Van Dyken. I “think” I read before that this cover is author & hubs. If so, she is beautiful and hubs is hottie!

Jean January 22, 2018 at 9:57 AM

Her husband is hot Leslie! I love that cover!

Jean January 22, 2018 at 9:58 AM

I read Keep Her Safe a little while ago and although I remember loving it and raving about it, I can’t remember a damn thing about it. I hate that.

Tessa January 22, 2018 at 1:19 PM

Leslie, yeah, it’s them. :) Also, I adore that book. Seriously adore. There’s just something special about it that made me read it more than once.

Leslie M January 22, 2018 at 1:46 PM

It IS a good story…really liking it so far. :)

Leslie M January 22, 2018 at 1:53 PM

3 things:

1. I am exhausted. Coffee nor diet coke is working.

2. Was at grocery store at 7:15, cleaned my Dad’s apartment, picked up my son and now I can’t move off couch.

3. I want to snuggle in blankie fort and have someone bring me soup. (homemade tomato soup. All ingredients waiting in my kitchen)

Jean January 22, 2018 at 2:18 PM

3 things:

1. I hate Mondays with a passion. Don’t want to work today.

2. My tricky 1-clicker finger became obsessed and clicked Ryan’s Bed and Seek…. couldn’t help it.

3. Reading Blood Bound… 2 of the Mercy Thompson series! Love it!

R. Renee January 22, 2018 at 2:21 PM

1. I’m jumping into Riders on the Storm today!
2. So I’ll be scarce on the interwebs.
3. I just had a Sonic kid’s cheeseburger and it was delish!

Jean January 22, 2018 at 2:53 PM

Never ate at a Sonic before!

R. Renee January 22, 2018 at 2:55 PM

I love it! They put one close to our house (we have NOTHING out here) and I swore it wouldn’t affect me. 20k cheeseburgers later… And tater tots with cheese? Somebody kill me.

Jean January 22, 2018 at 2:57 PM

20k cheeseburgers later….LMAO

Tater tots with cheese…..yum, I’m sold!

Tessa January 22, 2018 at 3:20 PM

3 Things:

1. Jean made me so happy because she’s reading Blood Bound.
2. I really want to get back to the book I was reading. So far, it’s that good.
3. I am out of dark chocolate. I want dark chocolate. I NEED dark chocolate. Alas, I am out of dark chocolate.
++ thing. No cheese on tater tots! Yuck!

Leslie M January 22, 2018 at 3:29 PM

Sonic sounds delish. We don’t really have those here. Only a few in Massachusetts and none in areas I go to.

*does happy dance for Riders on the Storm to be ready soon*

Nay January 22, 2018 at 3:31 PM

3 Things:

1. I won a signed copy of Bad Things from R.K. Lilley and I can’t wait to get it!
2. I spent 5 hours searching for a new microwave the other day, finally ordered it from Wal-Mart, and now our old one is working fine.
3. I still have ALL my Christmas decorations up (except for my tree).

Jean January 22, 2018 at 3:37 PM

Oooo congrats Nay on that signed copy…. that’s a good one to have!

Tasha J January 22, 2018 at 4:10 PM
Tasha J January 22, 2018 at 4:13 PM

1. I’m binging Jurassic Park, bc I’m cool like that
2. I’m ridiculously tired today (I blame the rainy, warmer weather)
3. The boy and I worked on wiping our own butt’s today AND counting…win!

Amy January 22, 2018 at 4:36 PM

Congratulations Nay!!! One of my ALL-TIME FAVORITES!!

1. I’m thrilled we are getting a surprise Tijan read.
2. Sonic makes me drool…chili cheese coney and chili cheese fries from there are just sinful.
3. I’m officially staying at my job. Yep, the bully will be working elsewhere from here on out. ;)

bev January 22, 2018 at 4:38 PM

3 things

1. It’s a BEAUTIFUL spring day. In January. What the hell??

2. Majority of the time I love my job. Even when I do not want to get up on Mondays.

3. I am however having a bad hair day.

bev January 22, 2018 at 4:39 PM

Look at moneypenny being all badass.
Awesome news, Amy!

Jan January 22, 2018 at 5:24 PM

Congrats on your win Nay! IKWYM about Midnight Blue. I really like it actually, but it’s a tad OTT and I’m taking a little break from it.

No Sonics near here. I’m not too sure what a tatertot is either (something potato, I guess?) Could be yummy but I’m not sure about the cheese…… Excited about R starting on her new book!!!!!

I seem to be reading A WHOLE LOT OF BOOKS AT ONCE at the moment. Like, more than I usually do LOL. Not too sure why. Some of them not my usual genre either (like that bully book!) I’m jumpin’ from one to the other like a crazy thing.

Jan January 22, 2018 at 5:25 PM

Amy glad to hear things worked out for you at your job. Sometimes karma comes up and bites those horrible people on the bum (to use an appealing mixed metaphor LOL)

Jan January 22, 2018 at 5:26 PM

Huh. Autocorrect – that was meant to be an APPALLING mixed metaphor. Bwahahaha

Jean January 22, 2018 at 5:32 PM

I like appealling better lol

Tessa January 22, 2018 at 5:48 PM

Tatter tots are mashed potatoes surrounded by shredded potatoes fried and bite-sized.

Look, a wiki!

R. Renee January 22, 2018 at 5:55 PM

The ones we have are more like mini hash browns. Think McDonalds or Burger King. Ours are definitely not mashed. They’re just deep fried grated potatoes.

Melinda January 22, 2018 at 6:04 PM

Thankyou Tessa, I didn’t know what they were either.
Not sure I would like them.

I read R’s book “waiting fo the Sun” and I loooved it. So if you have t read it. Go in blind and enjoy that crazy emotional ride. Sooo good.

3 things

1) I’m starting a new book today. Too many to choose from.
2) I’m going to the city today to shop. Whispers (I’ve taken the day off)
3) 5 days in a row it’s near 100f and I am having trouble sleeping because it’s soooo hot.

“Seek”is mine. Fists pumps

Jan January 22, 2018 at 6:04 PM

Oh yes. we can buy those frozen at the supermarket. Called Potato gems. Pretty yummy (but I’m still on the fence with the cheese). Ha. That’s a weird visual image. Go Jan on the metaphors today.

Jan January 22, 2018 at 6:05 PM

Yes Melinda, aren’t we all SO SICK OF THE HOT WEATHER. It’s getting ridiculous. Enjoy your shopping day. The shops will all be air-conditioned anyway :D

R. Renee January 22, 2018 at 6:07 PM

Thank you Melinda!

And here’s a better pic of ACTUAL Sonic cheese tots. I’m telling you…to die for. But yeah, never heard of them made with mashed potatoes. That would be gross.

Leslie M January 22, 2018 at 6:08 PM

I want Tristan & Danika to be real! I want to hug them, hang out with them and be their BFF.

Nay January 22, 2018 at 6:15 PM

When I got the email from RKL, I got all fangirly and had to tell her that ALL of us love Tristan and Danika and have recommended them over and over and over! lol I couldn’t resist, even though an assistant will probably be taking care of it.

Nay January 22, 2018 at 6:16 PM

Don’t ya’ll put shredded cheese on a baked potato sometimes? Cheese tots are no different–cheese/potato

R. Renee January 22, 2018 at 6:18 PM

Nay you were supposed to tell her about the song and say, “remember that weirdo who stalked you at RT? Well she’s not the ONLY crazy one!”

MichelleS January 22, 2018 at 6:40 PM

I finished Robin’s book too! Even with a very mild cliffy, I loved it & eagerly await the follow up. Some unanswered questions I don’t want to post here for fear of spoiling it. There were moments I really wanted to kick Darian. For real! And the steam factor! Woo-ee-mama. I can’t look you in the eye now, R. HeeHee.

Three things:
1. I bought a yellow rug because it was on super clearance online. Now I’m second guessing that decision!
2. I finally got to finish GoT, totally caught up, and I’m FLOORED.
3. I am up-to-date on the tide-pod fiasco only because of this blog. I never would have known. See? We talk about current issues!

That MC werewolf Kidnapping blurb caught my eye. Ha! It really did!

Tessa January 22, 2018 at 7:36 PM

Alright, I don’t like cheese on my baked potatoes either. So, yuck. And tater tots are yummy. They are what fries should have been.

Now, I have to call it. Did you all see Shiver up there. That one has my eye. Well, Ryan’s Bed does too, but you all knew that.

Tessa January 22, 2018 at 7:39 PM

MichelleS, wasn’t that ending INSANE? Also, yep, saw that MC Werewolf. Has to be better than the fairy MC I read. They were cheesy bad guys.

bev January 22, 2018 at 8:53 PM

Apparently I come across as so obsessed with The Others series that a few of my friends here thought I would just randomly insert references about it when talking of other books.

I am reading To Love Jason Thorne right now and am looking forward to the marriage of convenience that is (hopefully) about to happen and not about a Murder of Crows.
I am also reading Waiting for the Sun and To Tell the Truth I did love Darien’s dog Bieber and listening to his and Frankie’s conversations as narrated by Lin Manuel Miranda as they sit in The Courtyard.

R. Renee January 22, 2018 at 10:01 PM

Thank you for reading MichelleS! :D

Cheryl January 22, 2018 at 10:04 PM

Finally caught up on comments- busy weekend that I’m still recovering from. Daughter had mock trial tournament all weekend and work today was CRAZY. I think your week might be contagious Grey.

3 things:
1.Starting Waiting for the Sun, now. Didn’t get chance to read it this weekend. Hate cliffhangers, so that is making me anxious and hesitant to read it before book 2 is out.
2. Cheese is good on everything!
3. Happy your “bully” was re-located Amy!!

Kooloo January 22, 2018 at 10:05 PM

“Le sigh” – R

Gahhhhhh freaking love it Robin!!!
You romance writing badasssssssss

Kooloo January 22, 2018 at 10:09 PM

You are absolutely right my friend life is too dang short and YOU are too darn Awesome to put up with that crap or in my case what I like to call “little man syndrome” Yes Yes I had one of those too and I to had enough and left and never looked back!

…well actually I systematically facilitated the hiring of my former pharmacy techs, that worked under said little man, to my new place of employment and we all worked happy ever after.

BOOYA little man

*snaps finger in z-formation*

R. Renee January 22, 2018 at 10:11 PM

Just scrolled up…CONGRATS AMY! That’s awesome!

And thanks guys! <3 Kooloo said a naughty word! ;)

JulieO January 23, 2018 at 1:30 AM

I love their tater tots with cheese and don’t tell anybody but I can scarf down 2 of their chili dogs too.
Also finished Midnight Blue. I liked it but not loved. But found myself thinking about when I was finished which usually for me means it had more of an impact than I thought. One of the more selfish H I have read about. If I had a choice I would read again and there are many books I have finished that I can’t say that about. Good writing. Some parts a little tedious. Would give almost a 4.

Kooloo January 23, 2018 at 4:30 AM

Just finished “This is Not a Fairytale” —- and found the new take on a smutty tale surprisingly enjoyable. It WAS raw and real like the author intended but it was also kinda… beautiful – as only real life can be.

Leslie M January 23, 2018 at 7:09 AM

Everyone on West Coast stay safe. Tsunami warning….so scary.

Cheryl January 23, 2018 at 7:23 AM

I do love the cover of This Is Not a Fairytale.

Happy tuesday!! Off to work, hoping it’s not as crazy as yesterday.

Cheryl January 23, 2018 at 6:28 PM

Listening to Bastille- World Gone Mad while reading the prologue in Waiting for the Sun. Coincidence? I. Think. Not!
