Good morning and Happy Monday!! Quite a few in today’s lineup look awesome, and 4 of ’em gave me a blurb jolt!!! Take a look below at the early birds.
But first! Three things:
1.) It rained ALL day yesterday! ALL DAY. ALL NIGHT. I felt soggy. LOL!
2.) I watched a super scary movie this weekend (subtitled since it was filmed in Argentina) and it scared me GOOD!! It’s called “Terrified” (P.S. The cover image for this movie is SCARY!!) and it has that whole “Paranormal Activity” feel to it. Really disturbing scenes! The reviews were great, and I agree!!
3.) When I went to bed that night, I slept with the cooking channel on, in my bedroom, AND my lights on (albeit dimmed). Yep. I literally slept with the lights on. LOL!!!
LOOK WHAT JUST WENT LIVE !!!
- If I Only Knew by Corinne Michaels <— LIVE!! CORINNE MICHAELS ALERT!! She’s grieving her husband, a single mom, and hates her new boss… “…Landing the promotion as the CEO’s right hand was exactly what I needed. I let her live her happily ever after and I took all the darkness, all the pain, all the anger. Only, the universe had a sick sense of humor. She bumped into me. She pursued me. The beautiful woman I used to call mine. She said she wanted to make me smile. She didn’t know she’s the reason I stopped…”
Jenn: Good Morning! So I read MVP yesterday and trust me when I tell you plan two hours when you want to start this because you will not want to stop. And what I was surprised about with it being so short it did not leave me wanting more; I was content where it ended!
This book needs to be made into a movie-It was emotional for sure but there were funny moments as well. Just a very sweet emotional touching story.
Laura: *slams the one click button*
- Bodyguard by Stella Andrews
- Nothing to Lose (The Blackbridge Series Book 4) by Claire Boston
CURVEBALL by Mariah Dietz <— SHE’S FINALLY FALLING FOR SOMEONE, BUT HER BEST FRIEND FELL FOR HIM TOO…“…My constant bright spot always adding to the humor was my son, Hayden. But when Hayden had a life-threatening allergic reaction, the man who came to help my little boy became my own savior. His laugh, his smile, and the way his eyes lit up when he spoke to my son made him a beacon of light in both our lives. But I wasn’t the only one who noticed him. When I began having feelings for the man my best and only friend had fallen for, I knew following my heart would once again lead to a fresh round of heartbreak...”
Jessica: It’s really good! I read it last year and still think about.

When You Close Your Eyes by Roxanne D. Howard <— SHE’S BEEN DREAMING OF A STRANGER AND THEN SHE SEES HIM… “…When Lark is called home to Oregon for her father’s funeral, she comes face to face with the demons from her past, but she never expects to meet her dream lover in the flesh. Niall O’Hagan steps straight out of her fantasies and into her life, and the powerful connection they share rocks her foundation...”

She would never be the mother she was, and I would not allow her to hinder the mother I am…”
1. Told in two married couples POV’s ( & some Lucas Links )
2. You must read Her First Kiss and His First Crush, first. (Could read 27 Truths and 27 Lies before that… but may want to kill me cause they are super angsty, have a love triangle and bad things happen)

*yawns* Morning!
1. I’ve got The Chalk Man in from the library today so I’ll attempt to read that later today and I’m SO excited to read 99 Percent Mine tomorrow, I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for it!
2. Did you know Sonic is releasing deep fried Oreos with ice cream, I believe, tomorrow? Also, Cinnabon sticks or something with ice cream. I need a little trashy food, lol.
3. Anxiously waiting for polar vortex so I don’t have to leave the house Wednesday-Thursday!!
Tasha OMG my favorite cookie is an Oreo. I can’t eat those anymore, but I wanna bite a deep-fried one SO BAD!!!!
Happy Monday! I hope everyone’s crazy weather is better.
3 things:
1, Watched Outlander finale last night and was disappointed. Anyone else watching?
2, Thinking of making lasagna tonight and trying Tasha’s cube steak this week too. Heading out to grocery store soon.
3, Got to pick next book to start. Decisions, decisions.
Leslie, I’m being food-lazy for the next day or so and just picking up a rotisserie chicken at Publix tonight… and roasting some brussells sprouts to go with it. Healthy and yummy. Oh and I’m putting my Canadian brown gravy/chicken gravy” on it. It’s St. Hubert’s BBQ sauce (NOT like American bbq sauce ’cause it’s not sweet. I’ve been told it tastes like chicken ramen broth, but thick like a gravy. Kind of true!!)
Good Morning 🙂
3-things
1-I just finished a book-it was released 1/21/2019 and the only reason I found it was I was searching for a book about an artist for a challenge read and what better artist to read about than a tattoo artist :-). Anyway this book blew me away. It was my first from this author-
Pricked by Winter Renshaw. AMAZING
P.S.-This is Leslie safe-and as a matter of fact I think you will love it!
2-We had a snow quall warning when I woke up yesterday morning and to witness this which only lasted about 1/2 hour was unbelievable. I could not even see my neighbors house.
3-And for all of you that believe in second chance romances my sister who is 42 was contacted via her facebook inbox by her first love whom she has not been with since high school -they went out on a date Friday night. She said it felt natural like not even one day had gone by. It made me all warm and gooey inside as she deserves so much happiness and love.
P.S. I LOVE your sweet story about your sister, Jenn… keep us updated. <3
Tasha-you made me hungry for trashy food *giggles*
Leslie-you made me hungry for comfort food *still giggling*
Maryse-I just clicked MVP and I am shocked-this book is only 98 pages long-it is telling me it will take less than two hours to complete. Bonus for me as with my *sneaking* at work to read I probably can have it done before I leave. 🙂
LOL Jenn!!
It sounds like SO much story in a short one, but I wonder if there’s a separate “background” book to it?
They are my favorite too…over the summer at the Erie County Fair in Buffalo NY I had my first ever deep fried one! And most recently I made and ice cream cake that rocked my world. If you like the Strawberry Shortcake Crunch Ice Cream Bars you will love this. AND It is made with the vanilla oreo’s. I will try to find the recipe and post it, if not I pretty much know it by heart 🙂
Here it is-

Reposting my 3 things on the “correct” post!
1. I had to put Be the Girl aside because it’s too YA for me, but I still LOVE KA Tucker because the writing is fantastic.
2. Oddly enough I picked up another YA, A Girl Like Lilac by Victoria L. James and I’m LOVING it!! For some reason I seem to be OK with UK YA (less HS drama maybe?), and Toby is swooooonnnyyy!!
3. I fly back to Texas today and I won’t get into Austin until midnight and then I have to drive over an hour. 🙁
Three things:
(1) Listened to an audiobook in one day yesterday while cleaning, cooking and doing laundry…Let’s Get Textual by Teagan Hunter. It was awesome in audio…I highly recommend!
(2) Started a Nicholas Sparks book today for the first time in a while. It’s “Every Breath” and so far so good. I’m hopeful as the last one I read a while back “Two By Two” was quite long and just depressed the heck out of me. It was all about a separation/divorce….shocking, I know since he was going through one. Anyway, I’m hopping back in as his books are an easy pick when trying to meet a challenge for reading a book from my home state of NC. Yes, I actually live in Missouri now, but I’ll always will be a southern girl at heart!
(3) I think I’ve gained 5 lbs. just reading the food posts above! You girls are killing me!
Again…I want an edit button Maryse…my post is so messed up with bad spacing..ugh!
I also forgot to mention my apologies to my GR friends as I just added a bunch to my TBR on there…y’all can thank Maryse 😉
Jenn, I’m all over reading MVP…I also couldn’t believe how short it is! Oh and do keep us posted about your sister! That’s so sweet and exciting for her!!
R., Have a safe trip home!
Okay so I looked into MVP and it is most certainly a *standalone* and I have already shed tears…. 🙁 so maybe not the best book to read at work but who cares at least I have waterproof mascara on so I’m good. 🙂
I will definitely keep you all posted on my sis. It was so cute when she called me when she was driving to the restaurant, she says to me *I have butterflies* I said butterflies are better than a heart attack which is what I would probably have if I was in your shoes. 🙂
LOL!!!!
Yeah… butterflies are so GREAT!!!
Now I am finding out that in MVP the H Jax was in the Player Series but not as a main character, so if you read the 2 books in the player series you might get more of a backstory on Jax but not necessary.
Jenn, thanks for the info on MVP. I’ve read Fraternize in that series so I just downloaded Infraction which is free on KU and included audio 🙂 I’m going to try to listen to it before reading MVP.
Michele G-I have not read either one of them but I am curious your thoughts to see if I missed out by not reading them. I finished MVP for such a short story it packed a punch-it was extremely emotional for me!
I’m working up the courage to try Kingdom. Comments on a drama blog I visit are positive, but ….
Oooh, good news about MVP. It was part of her newsletter, but when she finishes them, she sets it up to buy separately. For those, like me, who have troubles reading a newsletter story.
1. My foot hurts. I’ve no idea what I did to it, but it hurts to walk. Now, compared to when I sprained or broke it? Not as bad. But when I walk it slowly builds until it’s painful. So wrapping it and putting a bandage on it, so whatever is making it hurt will go away.
2. When we went to the library, little dude got the Marie Lu’s Batman book. *crosses fingers* I’m hoping this will help him get into YA over kids books. Nothing wrong with kid books, but he’s read alot of them and is running out of books to read.
2a – If anyone has a book like the Lego movie, as far as a story with a normal guy (or kid) who becomes a hero without fantasy, I’d love to know. He’s currently reading the Lego Movie 2 book adaptation, and loving it.
3. Anyone ever had BelVita cookies? I got a set of pumpkin spice, and 11 grams of sugar per package, 4 cookies per package. It works because I have about a half of one when eating and it’s a lot less sugar and yet kills the sweet need.
When I ate cookies, I loved BelVita too!! Exactly the ones bev mentioned.
Miss those…
Tessa – I love the BelVita cookies. I don’t need a ton, they are filling. Banana is one I like, and blueberry.
I love the BelVita cookies too! Again, Michelle S and I are so similar. Bev…are you getting the evil doppelganger vibe again 😉 I love the Banana bread one but I will have to look for the pumpkin spice that Tessa mentioned.
Also Tessa, good luck with your foot. It sounds quite painful.
So as you all know “A Star Is Born” is my favorite movie to hit the screen in along time and it’s because of these two, I have literally watched this about 20 times-if this isn’t love than I don’t know what is!
https://youtu.be/3_yrU1GLuw4
Jenn I loved A Star Is Born too!! Best movie I saw last year 😀
Whoah. Deep fried Oreos? That ain’t right. Is there anything that can’t be deep fried??????
1. I’m nearly finished Sarina Bowen’s True North series. Half way through #6. I’ve liked them all. No 5 stars, but each enjoyable in its own way.
2. Making chocolate brownie today with sour cream. I’m not on a keto diet. (You can tell??)
3. I spent the weekend at a little town in the bush where they were celebrating 150 years since German settlers made their home there (including my forebears). They had a German festival on Saturday night with yummy German food. Some guys wore lederhosen with long socks and those little hats with a feather. (surprisingly the younger ones looked pretty hot in their braces and leather shorts!) It was a blast.
I can say I’ve had deep fried Oreos and they are good. When my niece was younger, I’d go and pick her up from her middle school. On the way, there was a pizza place that had deep fried Oreos as a dessert. Occasionally, we’d get a pack to go. 🙂 VERY good.
I’m struggling to imagine what they might taste like, actually. but I’ll take your word for it that they’re good, Tessa 😉

And I will add Lavender Blue right now. Thank you my friend!! 😀
Oops! Actually Lavender Blue is on here too!! Beautiful cover!
I hope this doesnt sound rude, but wish authors wouldn’t do that.
As a reader it turns me off. I think she posted 3 times.
1. We didn’t get any of the snow everyone’s getting – just rain here in Louisiana. I’m sad!
2. I cannot do scary movies!!
3. I’m reading If I Only Knew and LOVING it!!!
