in Latest Book Releases

Good morning and happy Monday everyone!! A few books snuck in early today and over the weekend, so here is our weekly earlybird list!!

Also if you missed it, check out my latest book review of “At This Moment” (super-romance-angst rock star read and yep. I’m now on book #2. YAY ME!!!). :D

  1. Only You by Melanie Harlow <— MELANIE HARLOW’S LATEST IS LIVE!!!! SHE’S LOOKING FOR TRUE LOVE & HER NEIGHBOR TELLS HER IT DOESN’T EXIST… “…I’m looking for something real, something that will last: the happily ever after. As a divorce attorney, he loves to tell me there’s no such thing. As a wedding planner, I choose to disagree. We disagree on almost everything, in fact. Everything except James Bond. The only time we really get along is when we’re watching 007 flicks together, and I’ll admit—he has rescued me from a disaster or five…”
  2. Charmed by Alexa Riley <— ALEXA RILEY’S ST. PATRICK DAY SPECIAL!!! ”...the St. Patrick’s Day parade is in town. But a run-in between her tray of paints and a big grouchy beast in a suit has her fleeing for safety. Warren has never wanted someone the way he wants her. One chance encounter has got him searching every inch of the city for her. She can hide, but not for long. He’ll make her his, no matter what...”
  3. A Life made of Lava by Lissa Del <— LIVE!!! OH MY THIS SOUNDS ALL SORTS OF FORBIDDEN AND TEAR-JERKER-Y!!!! And I LOVE this author for a past heartbreaker that she wrote. ;) Okay so… She’s dying and she hires a nanny to help her husband with their children… “…Nick wants Evie to fight. Evie, on the other hand, is almost ready to die. This is not Evie’s first rodeo. She kicked her cancer twice before. But this time around, Evie knows it’s a battle she can’t win. Instead, she focuses on avoiding her oncologist, playing wicked pranks on her mother-in-law and getting her affairs in order, which includes hiring a nanny to take care of the kids after she’s gone. Having Julia Soanes in his house would not have been Nick’s first choice. Julia smells of memories. And sex. Something Nick hasn’t had in a while. Nick’s moral objections, however, are short-lived. The woman he loves is dying. He can honor her dying wish...”
  4. Two Wedding Crashers (The Dating by Numbers Series Book 2) by Meghan Quinn <— LIVE!! MEGHAN QUINN’S LATEST!!! She wants to crash a wedding so she can “research” the whole falling in love spark. She hasn’t had it in ages and she’s writing a romance book… “….I haven’t felt that feeling in forever; there is nothing left inside of me. Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem–but I’m a writer on a serious deadline, and my editor is breathing down my neck for a romantic, Nicholas Sparks type love story. No pressure, right? That’s how I find myself flying across the country to crash a wedding in the name of research, dress and heels stuffed into my small suitcase. It should be the easiest book research ever. Drinking some free champagne, basking in the love of two strangers, and tapping into my romantic side. That’ll be a breeze. I’m a pro. I can handle this. Until I mistakenly end up in the wrong hotel room, naked as the day I was born, with the sexiest human I have ever met staring me down..”
  5. Where There’s Smoke (Sweet Sin Book 2) by Kathy Coopmans <— KATHY COOPMANS LATEST IS LIVE!!! ”…The daily routine I’ve settled into is what keeps me going. Work at my chocolate shop, pay the bills, repeat. I don’t date. I don’t trust. And I have never forgotten the man who walked away from saving my life without allowing me to thank him. I know how to reach him, but I avoid him at all costs. Until fate decides to make another appearance...”
  6. No Ordinary Love (Sweetbriar Cove Book 6) by Melody Grace
  7. Of Risk & Redemption: A Revelry’s Tempest Novel by K.J. Jackson
  8. February in Atlantis: A Poseidon’s Warriors paranormal romance by Alyssa Day
  9. The Scars I Bare: A By The Bay Stand-Alone Novel by J.L. Berg <— LIVE!! J.L. BERG ALERT! HE’S ADRIFT IN LIFE & SHE’S STARTING OVER… ”…Moving to a remote town on the coast of North Carolina seems like the perfect plan. That is, until she finds herself face to face with a kindred soul from her past. Dean and Cora have more in common than either are willing to admit. Both deeply rooted in their pain, they can’t help but find hope in each other’s eyes and passion entwined with every touch…”
  10. Do Re Mi by A. D. Herrick <— ROCK STAR ALERT!!! “...Lenny is as talented as they come, denying him the opportunity to let the world see first-hand how amazingly talented he was, was not an option. I refused to be the anchor that held him back from his dreams. The small life growing inside me reminded me of how precious time really was. So I’d wait for him. Five years was nothing compared to an eternity of doubt and what if’s. Now that Lenny’s back I can’t help but have my own doubts...”
  11. Hero by Lauren Rowe <— HOT FIREFIGHTER ALERT!! LAUREN ROWE’S LATEST IS LIVE! Oooooooh!! She was his doctor and she needed fixing far more than he did…”...She said she’d been assigned to fix me. That she was there to bring me back to life. She said helping me was her calling. And then she touched me. Physically, emotionally, spiritually. She healed me. And I fell in love. But what I didn’t know . . . what I couldn’t possibly know . . . was that Lydia Decker needed fixing far more than I ever did.”
  12. Scoring off the Field (WAGS) by Naima Simone <— SHE’S CRUSHING ON HER FOOTBALL STAR BFF ALERT!! “...Tennyson Clark is getting a life. First step: quitting her job as assistant to Dominic Anderson, star quarterback for the Washington Warriors, her best friend…and the man she’s been secretly in love with for years. Enter steps two and three: new job and new man…”

Leigh <— HOCKEY STAR ALERT!!! ”Sebastien St. Clair sets his sights on a sexy blonde spectator. Kylie Calloway secretly lusts after her brother’s biggest rival. When Seb propositions Kylie, it sets off a dangerous game of cat and mouse. Cocky as ever, he thinks he has everything under control until he realizes… he might not be the cat...”
  14. Army Ranger with Benefits (The Men of at Ease Ranch) by Donna Michaels <— HER FAKE-BOYFRIEND ALERT!!! ”…Former Army Ranger Vince Acardi dropped everything to help his stubborn brother after he’s injured in the line of duty. Instead, he somehow gets stuck helping the adorably hot girl next door land a date with some doctor she’s interested in. Not that fake-dating her is a hardship, and soon, he’s holding her, kissing her, touching her… There’s nothing fake about the chemistry between them. But Vince is leaving in two weeks, and Emma refuses to risk her heart on another military man. Worse, the good doctor she’s been after is finally standing up and taking notice...”

Good morning! Happy Monday! Woke up to snow this morning!!

Lisa Aiello March 12, 2018 at 7:03 AM

Good morning all! Awww Nay, that sucks. Winter needs to just get over itself and be done! And A Life Made of Lava is totally mine!

Leslie M March 12, 2018 at 7:42 AM

Good morning! Prepping for yet another 12+ inches of snow here. *grumbles* Making pepperoncini pot roast to cheer me up.

So, no reading this weekend but…have been watching Scandal. Be still my forbidden romance loving heart!! Yowsa! The chemistry with Olivia & Fitz. *fans self* I love them and I also have major soft spot for Huck. I am on S2 epi 7. I dont like Cyrus but the one spoiler I know is about him and I am dreading it.

Tessa March 12, 2018 at 8:32 AM

So… I’m reading Darkest Sunrise and the only reason I stopped was I needed sleep. It’s SOOOOO good so far! :D

bev March 12, 2018 at 8:41 AM

I was into Scandal for a long time. Then a long the way it jumped the shark for me. Kerry Washington is awesome in it.

Leslie M March 12, 2018 at 9:24 AM

Bev, it seems like all the popular shows jump the shark doesn’t it? I think they air them too long when they should have just ended them on a good note. But they can’t resist the good ratings and the money so the network keeps running it even though half the cast leaves or the storylines get ridiculous.

Tasha J March 12, 2018 at 11:11 AM

Yes! This is why I get so bored with shows after a while. Especially dramas, like Grey’s Anatomy for example. After a while, they end up like soap operas and annoy me and I’m over the whole formula. It’s predictable and a conclusion should’ve been made loooong ago. I’ve given up on tons of shows for that reason.

Maryse March 12, 2018 at 11:13 AM

I wanted to try Scandal… I tend to jump ship if I have to stop in the middle of marathon watch, and then don’t pick it right back up. If it wasn’t completely captivating me and having me on the edge of my seat throughout, I lose my marathon momentum.

Maryse March 12, 2018 at 11:13 AM

HECK YES TESSA!!!!! :D !!!!

Nay March 12, 2018 at 11:13 AM

Leslie–I also started Scandal once it had already been on the air for a while, so I did some major binge watching through 5 seasons. There have been some parts in later seasons that have been meh or a bit much, but I think they’ve really done some great stuff in Season 7. I’ve gone back and forth about Cyrus more than any other character, and I also love Huck, who goes through a major metamorphosis throughout the seasons. Of it all, though, my favorite part has been Olivia and Fitz during the first few seasons.

Maryse March 12, 2018 at 11:14 AM

Pepperoncini pot roast is the PERFECT meal for the cold weather. It’s not cold here in Florida but it’s raining and dreary. I could use a comfort food right now.

Maryse March 12, 2018 at 11:21 AM

Lisa right?? I loved her book Riven, and her book Rainfall (she’s an incredible story-teller and doesn’t mind ripping your heart out in the process – makes it SO real and unforgettable). I’m so thrilled she’s got another!! :D

R. Renee March 12, 2018 at 11:23 AM

I made pepperoncini pot roast yesterday! But instead of the usual potatoes and carrots, I roasted low carb veggies: yellow squash, mushrooms, radishes, onion, red pepper, and broccoli. Yumm!! Actually…I think it’s about leftover time!

Lisa hurry up and read that one and give me an HEA update!

MichelleS March 12, 2018 at 11:31 AM

Howdy from Texas, where it’s not snowing! Yay!

Spring Break problems… downloaded three KUs, and don’t know where to start!

Not Quite Dating (lots of good reviews)
Deliverance (Knights of Black Swan Series… its Deliverance’s book!!)
First Time Lucky (reviews made me pick this one up)

Now I’m just sitting here staring at my Kindle, like it will make the choice for me.

MichelleS March 12, 2018 at 11:35 AM

Speaking of Knights of Black Swan Series, I’d like to nominate Rammel Hawking as the BEST IRISHMAN in a fantasy series… since St Paddy’s Day is next Sunday… maybe Maryse will do an Irish theme post? That’s also why I picked up First Time Lucky. Irish brogue gets me every time, lassies.

Tasha J March 12, 2018 at 12:42 PM

Paired with Irish Creme coffee? ;)

MichelleS March 12, 2018 at 12:59 PM

Yes Tasha! And maybe some corned beef & cabbage for dinner.

Pia March 12, 2018 at 1:05 PM

In Denmark the snow is finally melting and I hope that spring and warmer temperature is around the corner.

I just finished Furious Rush by S C Stephens and loved everything about that book. Just a little bit of angst, the slow burn between Hayden and Kenzie, and everything is just heading for the HEA. Until the last page and now my heart beats faster just thinking about starting book 2 Dangerous Rush. I have a very strong feeling where book 2 will take us, and I’m not sure I can handle that. I’m really nervous but sure I have to start it. I loved Thoughtless and it had a lot of angst too, so hopefully I will survive Dangerous Rush :-)

Grey March 12, 2018 at 1:39 PM

Scandal! Yes!!!!!! *tosses alllll the glitter* rushes out buys more *throws all the newly boughten glitter* Gah, I have such a love/hate relationship with Scandal. I am a diehard #Olitz… Diehard. Doesn’t matter what they do…even though it kills me…gah. Enjoy movies!!! *pushes Moscato and Godiva and Manny into the glittery blankie fort*

Tessa! I knew you’d love it! I will be very interested to see what you think of book 2….

I need a book… There’s a couple up there that I’m really hoping are KU or I’m going to have to play pick a number, haha!

Tessa March 12, 2018 at 1:42 PM

Again! Elite! lol A KU? Jean is loving Mafia and his Angel… :P Past that, number, 42.

Nay March 12, 2018 at 2:35 PM

Grey–isn’t Scandal’s writing brilliant?! They trick me almost every time! Although I guessed what was going on this past week because I KNOW them by now! lol

Lisa Aiello March 12, 2018 at 3:36 PM

…standing in front of Robin with my fork. Can I have some of your leftovers too? Sounds absolutely delicious!

R. Renee March 12, 2018 at 3:38 PM

It’s always better the second day. OMG those peppers! I wish you could buy them without the stems though! #lazy

MichelleS March 12, 2018 at 6:17 PM

R. Renee – you can! Buy the pepper rings. Banana pepper rings. Taste the same to me, actually better!

R. Renee March 12, 2018 at 6:23 PM

Hmmm. I didn’t even think of that!

Maryse March 12, 2018 at 6:31 PM

I use ANYTHING that’s pickled pepper like. I once only had a whole jar of jalapeños. It was the BEST Mississippi-like pot roast I made. That is still my favorite one to this day.

bev March 12, 2018 at 7:31 PM

Amy and Kooloo are watching the first ep of Healer. It is all I can think of.
Did they like It?
Did they hate it?
Should I re watch it?
It’s like when someone reads a book rec.

Maryse you should read To Tell the Truth or Gann to take my mind off of it. ;)

bev March 12, 2018 at 7:33 PM

Who is having corned beef this weekend?

Tessa March 12, 2018 at 7:47 PM

NOOOOO! YUCK! You said the BAD WORD! Only one worse is it’s minion, starting with a C. YUCK

bev March 12, 2018 at 9:12 PM

So……i guess you don’t care for it?

MichelleS March 13, 2018 at 12:49 AM

My hubby & son hate C & C. More for me! Yes. I’ll be making some.

Tessa March 13, 2018 at 8:19 AM

Hate C and C. HATE. My Dad always made me eat a little to celebrate being Irish, but YUCK. Needless to say, as soon as I could, I stopped eating it. Irish doesn’t mean eating nasty C and C.

Maryse March 15, 2018 at 9:01 PM

LOL!!! I’m late to this comment, but Tessa’s disdain of Corned Beef & Cabbage makes me giggle. I could take or leave the cabbage, but oh how i love Corned beef. YUMMMMMY and SALTY!!!

Maryse March 15, 2018 at 9:04 PM

I’m adding your recommendation to the Friday Finds, Pia!!! :D
