Mmm crepes! I haven’t had one since we visited Maine a few years ago. There was a shop that made anything crepe, savory crepes…didn’t even know they existed that way. It was heavenly. Pass the crepes, please! 🙂

I’m reading Ravenheart (Crossbreed #2). Spinoff series of one of my favorite series ever, The Mageri Series. Anyhoo, got sidetracked months ago, and have no clue why, because I LOVE CHRISTIAN POE.

It’s a day of rest for me. I’ve had ‘the crud’ for THREE weeks now. Loving my new heart, but this suppressed immune system is for the birds!
I’m reading Lessons in Corruption by Giana Darling and really enjoying it. It’s a great forbidden, teacher/student storyline with a very mature 18 y.o. male student whose family is involved in an MC. The alpha writing reminds me of KA A LOT and in a great way (usually when I get ‘like KA’ recs, they don’t much remind me of KA.) I’m halfway done, and so far, so good!
Tomorrow, Master of My Heart by Marissa Honeycutt (book 2 Finding Sabrina series) goes live. I beta read this book and helped a bit… So yeah, this one is dark y’all… *tosses some dark shiny sparkles* Not sure if you remember Master of My Body, the novella that came out last summer, well this is the follow up book.
Nay – speaking of KA feel, teacher-student who is super mature member of a MC… Bastards of Boston Book two… it was great!
I adore crepes! I have to admit, I especially love the ones at IHOP that have the Sweedish pancakes which are crepes with lingonberries. YUM.
My niece and sister-in-law swear by one we had at the fair, with egg salad in it. It was only one year, and every year since, they look for it in vain hopes to have it again.
Good morning! Happy Memorial Day! I’m so excited that The Hating Game is on sale, I’ve had it in my wish list FOREVER. Screwed looks really good, I may try that one or One Night Wife by Ainslie Paton sounds interesting and that just came out. Hmmm… decisions, decisions.
Today is a semi lazy day for me. Laundry, quick trip to the grocery store and reading is on the agenda. If I get super ambitious I may fold some of the winter laundry (it’s clean!) and put that away. Yesterday I went to my parents house in Door County, they live on the bay so it was cooler there than the 95 degrees it was in town. I got a nice slight sunburn on the alabaster part of my farmers tan…so I got some color! Those tan lines from my work uniform are super sexy!
Also, now I want crepes.
Mmmmm….Nutella and strawberry crepes or bananas with cinnamon sugar…yummy!
I’m reading The Idea of You. I just started last night and it’s already keeping me engaged. I had a hard time putting it down to go to bed! I keep thinking of me with a twenty year old….like my son and it ruins the fantasy! LOL I’ll let you all know how I liked it.
I one clicked Mr. Masters. It looked good. A ditzy nanny and a single man Judge. The blurb sounded funny.
Also, on May 29th, Suzanne Wright has another Phoenix Pack book coming out called Wild Hunger. So if you like her series pre-order is up.

Robyn, I just finished book one this week and have book two ready. Though, eight books? GEESH. lol It’s gonna take me a while to finish them.

Michelle–I marked the first Bastards book the last time you mentioned it. I’ll move it up on the tbr–thanks! I had a heck of a time finding the series, though, because on GR, it’s just ‘The Bastards’, and on Amazon, the first two books are ‘The Bastards’ but the 3rd is ‘The Bastards of Boston’, so for anyone who’s trying to find it, the series is by Carina Adams.
Tessa- the Phoenix series is so good, it will go fast. Also, try SW’s Mercury Pack series. It’s kind of a spinoff of the Phoenix Pack.
I forgot to tell you guys I finished War Storm, the last book in the Red Queen series. This book wrapped things up quite nicely. Victoria Aveyard has a gift for writing. Her words and story flow so easily. I love a book where I can just read, not having to stop for grammar or continuity mistakes. I got so involved with the h, Mare’s cause and all the people she pulled into it with her, especially Cal, the H. These books had everything in them that I love, except sexy times, which were only alluded to because this is a YA book. That was okay because there was so much other stuff going on that kept me enraptured. Beautifully written series, I highly recommend it!
I’m not too far in Daughter of Smoke and Bone yet, but am still loving it. It’s not what I thought it would be, it’s been so long since I even read what it was about, I just basically went in blind, and it’s one of my favorite fantasy subjects! Yay! I haven’t read very many w/angels, fallen angels, demons or in this case Chimaera, but it fascinates me and I’m liking the different spin on this one. And the writing is so good too!
I’m also trying to file the babe’s nails (while I can’t even file my own), it’s going fantastic! Lol
I have a super fun game for anyone who wants to play… it’s called baby playlist! I just got Prime over the winter and only just downloaded the Amazon music app a cpl months ago. Alexa plays it to calm and drown out everyone’s noise. I don’t buy the music, I only download the free songs and I add them very seldomly. I always see you musical gurus comparing songs and artists and sharing playlists so I thought maybe you could help- these are some of the artists I have and like to listen to the most: Passenger, Avett Brothers, Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers, Ed Sheeran, James Bay, Maren Morris (1 of hers) Keith Urban (1 of his too), For King and Country. I like slower, soothing music. A little folksy. I have upbeat too, but these are mostly for the purpose of naps.
Robyn, I’ve read her Deep in Your Veins series up to three (I have to read four and five still. Three ended the first arc.) and I have read her Dark in You series. 🙂 The Mercury Pack will be after the Phoenix Pack. So far, my favorite is the Dark in You series. 😀 That one I could read about that couple for years and years.
Also, I still need to read King’s Cage. I had forgotten some of the secondary characters and that made it confusing when I got to about 30%.
Tasha, and that’s why even with the slow part, I REALLY do want to continue the series. 🙂 The writing is fantastic and the world is so memorable.
Hmm, I gotta think as far as soothing songs. I usually just sing to babies and the collection I’d sing were sometimes odd. O Holy Night, Silent Night, Missing by Evanescence (which if you look at the lyrics is kind of warped), You are my Sunshine (again, second set of lyrics… warped), All I Ask of You from Phantom of the Opera, The Leaving Part 2 by AFI… You get the idea. So I’ll try to think of some that would work that aren’t those.
I have got to go to Prince Edward Island some day.

Good morning ladies!! Er, well, it’s morning for me as I just woke up not long ago. 😳 Oh well, looks like it’s crepes and coffee ‘round here today so YUM!!!
We just came back from a much-needed vacation/road trip, and we’re exhausted but SO refreshed as well. Hence the sleeping in today. 😉 Now I have to tackle our vacation laundry, go grocery shopping, and wade through the past week’s posts and comments.
Anyone want to give me a roundup of the happenings from the last week? Any books everyone (or close to everyone) is going nuts over? How about a recap of the chatter…bev?
And yes, bev, I’m down for a trip to Prince Edward next summer. I’ll even take an Ambien on the flight over so I don’t talk your ear off. *giggle*

I just read bev’s grumpy version of me. 😉 Actually I have been a tad grumpy in the last 2 weeks. Interestingly enough it appears to correlate with my Keto experience. Mind you, it’s working and I AM sleeping better.

Some people suggested Maryse take Ambien.
She said No.
Leslie–my heart is great (thank goodness!), but in order to keep my body from rejecting it, I have to take two different immunosuppressants. I started out taking 12/day of one and 6/day of the other, and I’m down to 8/day and 4/day, but my immune system is still suppressed.
Since I’m sensitive to bacteria/germs, I have to be really careful about being around sick people, consuming unwashed or non-pasteurized foods/drinks, and I can’t eat any meat that’s not fully cooked (I quit eating steak because I only like it rare). I also have a bunch of other restrictions.
At times, it’s a bit of a pain or an inconvenience, but I’ll take whatever to be alive, and fingers crossed, as time passes, they’ll continue to go down on those meds. At least I can eat salt and drink as much fluid as I want now! lol (although I still don’t overdo it.)
Yeah, if you’re concerned with sleepwalking, Ambien isn’t the one to take.
That reminds me–Maryse, my doctor prescribed me a different one, I’ve only taken a half a pill a couple of times and I didn’t sleepwalk, but I’ll keep you posted. It’s back in my room, and hubs is napping, but I’ll post the name of it in a bit.
Which one is it Nay? And yes, I used to be a frequent sleepwalker as a child, so I know Ambien is risky for me…
Now I’m imagining Amy sleepwalking on a plane.
The idea of sleepwalking freaks me out.
I’ve never been to Canada, I’d need a passport, but it looks amazing! Looks warm in the pictures and I’ve always pictured Canada cold.

Made sweet and savory crepes this morning. Sweet- creamy brie (sweetened with confectionary sugar) and nutella with strawberries and bananas. Savory- southwest- seasoned sausage and veggies with mexican cheese and salsa. Yum! Sweet one is my favorite, although I usually use a cream cheese filling, but was out so substituted the creamy brie.
Cheryl, that sounds so good. The crepes not the sleep running. Again, terrifying.

Funny about all the Canada talk…we (hubs & son) were just talking about a summer vacation there. But none of us have passports. Its been so long since I traveled. Back in the day no passport needed for Jamaica or Canada. (the only non US places I have been) Anyway, we were thinking Niagara Falls.
